STRENGTHS

• Iron Storm: Theis droid is capable of a truly staggering rate of fire and can saturate targets with fire.
• Staggeringly Agile: The droid is oddly mobile for something of its size with three legs.
• Appropriate Force: The droid selects the appropriate round to engage targets with before engaging.
• Powerful, Advanced Communications: The droid has a powerful self modulating encrypted frequency hopping comms suite, greatly decreasing the chances of interception or jamming.

WEAKNESSES

• Out of Rounds: The moment the droid runs out of rounds the droid loses its primary means of engagement.
• EMP/Ion: Should any EMP/Ion damage manage to bypass the droid's considerable defenses, it is likely to cause significant and lasting damage to more than a few systems and subsystems.
• Devastating Overload: Should the reactor overload and meltdown, the resulting explosion would be nothing short of devastating, completely and utterly annihilating the droid and potentially what's around it.

DESCRIPTION

The MD-01 was designed to provide fire support for dismounted infantry squads in excess of the degree that the backpack version is able to. The mortar droid version features improved detection, targeting and tracking over the backpack version on account of there being more space to pack in the miniaturized systems. The droid version also has better ammunition storage capacity than the backpack mounted version. For this reason it now accompanies the company's troops into battle.

The droid is fully capable of a truly staggering rate of fire which is the reason for its name sake. The droid is programmed to ensure the appropriate round is loaded when engaging targets. The droid is also appraisingly agile for a droid of its size of the tri-legged configuration. Additionally, the droid has a powerful self modulating encrypted frequency hopping comms suite, greatly decreasing the chances of interception or jamming.

Of course there are number of flaws with the droid, however. The moment the droid runs out of rounds the droid loses its primary means of engagement. Additionally, should any EMP/Ion damage manage to bypass the droid's considerable defenses, it is likely to cause significant and lasting damage to more than a few systems and subsystems. Finally, should the reactor overload and meltdown, the resulting explosion would be nothing short of devastating, completely and utterly annihilating the droid and potentially what's around it.
