  • Modularity: Weapons mounted on the droid's modular mounts can be changed. The droid's exterior surface can be coated or electroplated in different materials. These droids can make use of most melee and ranged weapons, though those with particularly small grips will not be able to be used effectively. Weapons sufficiently complicated in operation cannot be used immediately unless a similar weapon has been produced by the company, or the droid is instructed in its use. Additional ablative plating may be installed.

    • Personality: Each and every 'Gar Sol'akaan Baar'ur' droid is programmed to perform their functions with the Resol'nare and the SuperCommando codex as their divining light with some assistance from the canons of honor. For example, one of these droids would leave a disarmed soldier that was no longer a threat alone, but would still execute a wounded soldier still capable of being a threat.

  • The navigation suite uses the different systems to best ascertain the droid's location and then provide appropriate navigational aids as required by the droid.

  • 2x 360-degree FOV Coverage Wide-angle Electro Photo Receptor with Electrobinocular (1x - 100x magnification) functions: The Electro Photo Receptors used here have been modified with a number of additional sensor, scanner and imaging systems listed below. They are all built with the same magnification level as the listed Electrobinocular zoom. The view displayed is a composite image created from all the connected systems parsed and processed by advanced data processing algorithms and a secondary advanced Droid Brain with Gabonna memory crystal.

    • Counter-Sniper: The system uses its audio pickups and EPR to try and locate a hidden marksman or a concealed support weapon position using the sound of the shot if any and also any emissions from smart optics and the like. Once a rough location has been triangulated, the system places a red square on the droidr's optic feed in the general direction.
    • Early Warning: If the system detects active sensor or scanner pings or targeting lasers coming from a bearing and range or position that doesn't have any friendly IFFs the system will indicate the direction with either a yellow or red arrow to warn the droid depending on whether neutral or hostile signatures are detected.

    • Computer Interface: The system analyzes the droid's optic feed and displays relevant data directly to its optic feed by translating complex computer algorithms into easy-to-understand symbols and words. While not preferred by experienced slicers, it can help an amateur slicer crack more complicated systems.
    • Electronic Systems: The system analyzes the optic feed feed for similarities with stored circuit component registries and provides an analysis of the systems, particularly those pertaining to security, demolitions, and general computing functions.
    • Medical: The system analyzes the subject using the full suite of equipment integrated into the droid and provides tips and assistance in a variety of medical situations. The droid is provided with a constantly updated stream of information on the patient's condition.

    • EMS Scanner (mounted in articulated over the shoulder sensor pod): The EMS Scanner can be used for targeting and tracking purposes of specific EM signatures or can store specific EM signatures for later use.
    • Environment Scanner
    • ID Scanner with DNA Tracing Module, Genetic Sampler and Backtrack Sniffer: The ID Scanner connects not only to the Guild database, but also the company's database and any databases made available to the company when the correct access codes are entered. This enables Strill Securities droids to stay aware of persons of intertest without having to check a mission briefing document. Without the correct access credentials, only the Guild database can be accessed. The access credentials provided to the customer to access specialist databases don't give access to the company databases that contain the relevant information for use with this module.
    • Long-range General Purpose Scanner (Lifeform Scanner unable to bypass stealth systems)
    • Structural Engineering Scanner

    • Optic-linked Weapon Targeting System/Optic Compatible: The system is able to link with smart optics, HUD-linking weapon systems and the like to provide a full interface with the weapon. The system places a weapon appropriate reticle, ammunition readout, status display and full targeting controls for guided weapons or weapons with airburst features and the like. With weapons that are compatible, the droid can eject magazines, switch firing modes or utilize any other similarly linked function over this link. The droid can also adjust for ballistic drop if relevant or generated a predicted firing solution as well to aid in tactical planning. This firing solution can be shared with other linked compatible systems via local area network or over the 'Manda' battlenet.
    • Linked Weapon Systems: For system linked chassis-mounted weapon systems, the system provides the same functions that it provides over a HUD-linked Weapon Targeting System/Optic link.

    • Friendly, Hostile, and Neutral Identification
    • Positional Mapping: The system tracks the positions of friendly, hostile and neutral contacts on the map generated by the navigational suite and is constantly updated based on local and networked data.


Data Sharing

The CMD-01M can share all data via the 'Manda' battlenet or any other battlenet patched to function with the 'Manda' style data-sharing and processing, but it is also capable of sharing this data over comms back to its base station and systems connected to it or any system its operator syncs it to via compatible comns.
  • Feed Sharing: The composite fused sensor feed can be shared via or to any of the sources mentioned above.
  • Fire-support: Targeting, positional and other relevant data can be passed on for the purposes of calling artillery or close air support/orbital strikes and the like to any compatible system.

STRENGTHS

WEAKNESSES

  • Shield or Field Disruptor: Either the droid's shield or field disruptor can be active, not both. When gaining access to locations protected by shields, the droid becomes that much more vulnerable to damage.
  • EMP/Ion: Should any EMP/Ion damage manage to bypass the droid's considerable defenses, it is likely to cause significant and lasting damage to more than a few systems and subsystems.
  • Devastating Overload: Should the reactor overload and meltdown, the resulting explosion would be nothing short of devastating, completely and utterly annihilating the droid and potentially what's around it.
  • I Don't Work For Idiots: These droids are sentient and instilled with Mandalorian values. They won't take orders from those they see as prone to making costly mistakes, or a tendency to micromanage unnecessarily. They're only loyal to those that display any kind of leadership capabilities.
  • Powerful Sensor Jamming: Powerful sensor jamming will limit the droid's abilities to make use of it's extensive sensor/scanner array. This will lower the droid's situational awareness to a noticeable degree, though the Manda tactical battlenet can help take the edge off this to an extent.
  • Surgical Bay: There are some injuries that just can't be treated in the chaos of battlefield conditions even by a droid as well equipped and skilled as the Gar Sol'akaan Baar'ur.

DESCRIPTION

The modernization project the company launched included a new active protection system, new comms a new lighter ultramesh frame, electric defense systems, an improved software package and a refreshed version of the older droid brain, bringing a marked improvement in the droid's capabilities. These changes were rolled into a new model of droid based on the CMD-01 'Gar Cayatr Baar'u' Combat Medical Droid.

Gar Sol'akaan Baar'ur droids were developed as part of a force wide modernization, where potential weak links in the Strill Securities fleet and ground force table of organization and equipment were replaced with newer models. One of the main requirements for the new droid that was to be serving in both medical facilities and alongside the troops in the field was that it be combat trained, and fully capable of not only defending itself but also taking the fight to the enemy.

When developing the droid, the company chose to utilize their new 'Gar'mirshe'-R Droid Brain droid brain for the simple reason that the incredible processing power and capacity for heuristic learning allow it to be extremely proficient. Each droid, as soon as they walk out of the factory floor are taken to be trained by the the best medical professionals that credits and the company's connections can afford, and then taken straight to combat training with Strill Securities' combat trainers.

The droid is fully equipped for combat, equipped with modular weapon attachment points, integrated bladed weapons and programmed with advanced weapon handling techniques, extensive combat protocols and an advanced sensor suite such that it can make use of its considerable combat training with ease. It's tough external plating, frame and integrated shield generator allow it to perform its duties in the face of damage that would've killed organic combat medics, allowing it to reach its patients even in the midst of the fiercest engagements.

The Gar Sol'akaan Baar'ur can perform a number of medical procedures botb on and off the battlefield, and can speak a vast array of languages. This allows them to perform a number of roles, including but not limited to combat medic, battlefield surgeon, medical officer aboard starships and even interrogator if necessary. Naturally, however, the droid had to be equipped such that it would be able to operate as efficiently both in a medbay and/or in the chaos of a battlefield, and as such the droid comes equipped to perform everything from basic first aid to complicated surgery. To make use of the array of medical equipment the droid has access to number of medical databases augmented by the droid's own heuristic learning capabilities, allowing it to learn from its experiences treating patients both on and off the battlefield and the various complications that may arise during this process. That said, there are some injuries that just can't be treated in the chaos of battlefield conditions even by a droid as well equipped and skilled as the Gar Sol'akaan Baar'ur.

The Gar Sol'akaan Baar'ur droid is powered by the company's Argu'a'ika Isotope-5. The reactor is extremely powerful, powerful enough to power all the droid's systems at once, yet compact enough that it can fit into the chassis without taking much space. The only downside is that should the the reactor overload and meltdown, the resulting explosion would be nothing short of devastating, completely and utterly annihilating the droid and possibly everything in a short radius around it.

Because of these droid's sentience and intelligence, the company doesn't sell the droids themselves, rather they put out year long contracts, after which it is the droid's choice whether they renew the contract. This does cause some problems, however. Due to their high intellect and sentience, Gar Sol'akaan Baar'ur droids won't take orders from those they see as prone to making costly mistakes, or a tendency to micromanage unnecessarily. They're only loyal to those that display any kind of leadership capabilities. Those buying combat droids of this caliber, however, usually won't have a problem in this regard.

That said, droids are still droids, and despite the measures taken to protect the Gar Sol'akaan Baar'ur against EMP/Ion damage, a powerful enough weapon will still fry this droid like a protato in a deep-fat fryer.

Though extremely competent as a combatant on a battlefield, the droid's primary purpose is to render medical aid to its allies, as such it will prioritize this task even at the expense of its own personal safety. Additionally, despite being both sentient and having advanced heuristic learning capabilities, droids don't think the same way as human medical personnel. If survival chance on a particular patient falls below a certain percentage, it will either allow said patient to die or ensure they die comfortably so that it can work on other patients.
