Private Big Trouble in Little Seoul

"You're a Jedi, since when do you guys pay for anything?" Shot Ria in return, the casino was loud - louder than she expected. The blonde winced partially because the sounds were a little unexpected, especially at their volume. Ria scoffed and got a look at Valery, "that just makes me fun size." Without any further hesitation she led the way, the woman knew Nar Shaddaa well - and one minute she thought, was being generous. The yellow glow of the casino lights was too hot for her liking.
Made staying in the ambulatories of the back hallways all the more comfortable, cool, blue dim lights made it easier for her to focus. "I might be a little rusty, admittedly, but we should be okay - you'll have to watch for pockets of inhibitors." Warned Ria, "Sotta's collected a lot of the old UCM anti-Force user stuff over the years." The ringing sounds of slot machines announcing their winnings coupled with the overbearing announcer that seemed to enjoy reading off the play-by-play of the latest races irritated Ria more than she wanted to show.
"Good, I could use a little fresh air, time away from home is always necessary." Not that she would call Nar Shaddaa much of a home, but it was a place to lay her head. "One minute's being generous, we're gonna be hauling ass, keep the lightsaber pocketed. Use a blaster, people here are used to blaster fights. 'Sides, no one else will know you were one of the burlap brigades, well, aside from me." She quipped with a smile as she cast a sidelong glance toward the Jedi. "C'mon Too-Tall, let's double-time it watch the door. If anyone asks, you're waiting for your sister, there's a latrine not far from here. I'm pukin' my guts out."

"Yes, a blaster..." Valery blinked at that. Until quite recently, she had never really even tried using one, and she certainly didn't carry them either. So if a fight were to break out, she'd have to go unarmed and maybe use the Force for some tricks they wouldn't be able to notice as much. It wasn't the best for the situation, but it definitely beats drawing a lightsaber out in the open in a place like Nar Shaddaa.

"C'mon Too-Tall, let's double-time it watch the door. If anyone asks, you're waiting for your sister, there's a latrine not far from here. I'm pukin' my guts out."

Valery chuckled,
"I hope that's not something we'll have to fake, but got it," she replied before her eyes turned to the neon lights of the Casino and district around it. She was paying attention with the way she looked around a little bit, but mostly, she just allowed her senses to do that work for her. It made sure that she didn't look like someone guarding a door but still allowed her to know exactly what was happening all around her. If people were approaching, if someone was watching her, if danger was imminent — none of that would escape her now.

So while she covered Ria's ass, time slowly started ticking by.

"Cone on, Ria..." Valery muttered. She was a very patient woman, but something about this whole situation made her just a little more nervous. Probably because she relied on someone else so much, rather than her own skills and experience. But she was able to control herself, and patiently waited for the other woman to finish up her business.

Just as Valery was wondering what in the void was taking Ria so long, the blonde emerged from the door and handed Valery a datastick. The moon city native explained what was on it as she booked it down the hall. "Managed to download some information about Sotta and his contacts for you, and a blueprint of a few palaces." She shoved droids and waiters out of the way as droids with weapons emerged from behind them. "Cyborg, two o'clock!" She shouted while hurtling over a service cart and a very frightened Cathar waiter. "SORRY!"

"MISRANI!" The Cyborg shouted, "YOU MISERABLE RUNT!"

"Literally my name and what it means, ok time to skedaddle - lift is this way!" Ria burst through the double doors that led through the kitchen. Slippery floors made it easy for Ria to lose her footing and lose it she did. She slid down across the terracotta-colored tile floor, she rolled to her side and kept running, droids in front of her Ria grabbed hold of a fire extinguisher and stopped only to use it as a weapon. The cyborg yelled - he too had made it to the kitchen. "Freight lift isn't far!"

Valery took the data stick and briefly looked at it while she followed Ria through the casino. It had taken a bit longer than she had hoped, and it meant they were in a rush to get out. Still, if this stick actually had helpful information about Sotta and his people, she could target their illegal activities a lot more efficiently. Or well, she could make sure other Jedi were able to cover it — this type of work wasn't exactly her specialty anymore.

"MISRANI!" The Cyborg shouted, "YOU MISERABLE RUNT!"

"Quite a friend you have there," Valery smirked a little and rushed through the double doors into the kitchen. Unlike Ria, however, she was able to keep her balance and watched as a fire extinguisher was used as a weapon against the droids in front of them. But the cyborg was coming up right behind them, and it was unlikely that it would be taken down as easily as these droids.

So while Valery ran, she gently flicked her head and used the Force to make a bunch of cooking equipment, boxes, and whatever else was stored in the tall cabinets fall on top of him and in his way. Combined with the slippery floor, she hoped it would be enough to buy the two some time.

"Freight lift isn't far!"

"I see it!" she called back and as fast as she could without using the Force, she sprinted for the lift and reached for the button. It would really suck if it was on a different floor right now.

"Listen, when you're a runaway slave, you make all kinds of friends," quipped Ria with a sardonic tone on the word friends. The miserable runt as she was known on Nar Shaddaa slid into the lift and waited for the Jedi to be in before pressing the close door button frantically. She winced in pain and coughed, catching her breath, "y'know that sprint didn't seem so bad when I was cat, but- ah, human form, ah... whew." Ria took a deep breath and exhaled.

Thankfully this ordeal would be over soon enough, "at least, we'll be out of here soon."

"So uh, you don't strike me as the typical burlap brigade from around here, where are you from exactly?" Ria asked curiously, the lift doors opened up and revealed the freight hangar. Relatively quiet, "ride should be somewhere down here, a friend of a friend left it around for emergencies such as this."

"You need exercise," Valery commented as she watched Ria catch her breath in the elevator. Sure they had just gone through a sprint, but it wasn't that long. Mostly though, she enjoyed poking fun at the woman who had given her so much sass in cat form. This was her time to get a little bit of payback.

"Where I'm from? That's... a difficult question," she blinked at it herself for a moment. "I remember very little of my homeworld and grew up a long time ago at the New Cov Enclave. Ended up in stasis, woke up, and now I mostly work within the New Jedi Order." She paused for a moment and looked at Ria.

"I don't feel there is really one place, but you're right — I'm not all that traditional in some ways," Valery smirked and turned her eyes into the Hangar. They were finally close to leaving this planet behind, and she couldn't be happier about that.

"Just be careful, I'm not sure if they'll give up so easily."
