† SPECIAL FEATURES †
  • Shadow-walker Initiative: Precognitive by its original nature and cybernetically enhanced to rapidly process complex calculations, the Shadow-walker Navigation System is a dangerously lethal pairing with the Mark IX Supremacy-class 'Shadehound' Starfighter extreme maneuverability, speed, and hyperdrive. Capable of complex maneuvers and the complete domination of space with all these components combined, the starfighter is a brutal instrument of blindingly fast proportions.

  • End Game Mechanism: In order to guard the designs of the Mark IX Supremacy-class 'Shadehound' Starfighter and the sensitive knowledge used to formulate them, a number of fail safe systems have been built into the design. First, chepatite impact explosives are embedded within strategic positions to ensure the complete annihilation of the starfighter upon capture. Furthermore, when remotely signaled or when on-board systems indicate total failure, the starfighter will be armed with a Sith Alchemized Bomb designed to release the noxious Candorian Plague into the surrounding area after destruction. The entire design is made to leave only a skeleton of its former glory with the Candorian Plague bomb at its core.

† STANDARD FEATURES †

† STRENGTHS †
  • Relentless Hunter: Equipped with one of the fastest hyperdrive ratings in the galaxy, the Mark IX Supremacy-class 'Shadehound' Starfighter is able to dogmatically pursue targets across the galaxy. The standard-issue HS-10 "Hermes" Class Hyperdrive has been overclocked and repurposed to only be able to travel through Sub-Hyperspace, sacrificing the ability to travel through Hyperspace and Otherspace for more speed.

  • Speed Demon: The Mark IX Supremacy-class 'Shadehound' Starfighter is able to achieve incredible feats of maneuverability and speed by sacrificing a large part of the ship for more dedicated power matrices and larger sublight engine blocks. The Umbral Engines are powerful, baffled implosion engines capable of extraordinary speed and acceleration that come equipped with Overdrive Thrusters which provide a temporary, yet relentless boost in speed and disengage any missile locks, breaking away from the starfighter after use.

  • Shadetouched: Built with Chromium armor plating and coated with Nightshadow, the starship is sensor dampened to a noticeable degree. While not as nearly effective as dedicated stealth generators, the effects are still prominent enough to help the Mark IX Supremacy-class 'Shadehound' Starfighter avoid standard sensor and tracking systems.

† WEAKNESSES †
  • Gilded Armor: The Sith Alchemized properties of the Chromium Armor Plating are solely to enable the starfighter to enter sub-hypertravel without a shield system, granting valuable space and power for the hyperdrive and engine systems. The Armor Plating is extremely minimal and the lightest of damage will severely affect the starfighter's performance.

  • Non-Lethal Loadout: Solely designed to capture enemy starships, the offensive capabilities of the starfighter are extremely limited. Its only weaponry are two light ion cannons, two single-use feedback arrays for larger targets, and a magna-harpoon: all of which inflict no real damage against other starships.

  • Disrupted by Light: Due to its Sith nature, Light Side Force Abilities affect the Mark IX Supremacy-class 'Shadehound' Starfighter directly, most prominently affecting its navigation & avionics system. When targeted by Light Side Force Abilities, its Hyperdrive Rating falls to 1.0, defaulting to a minimally operable navigation & avionics system, and its maneuverability drops by two ratings.

† DESCRIPTION †
The Brigands of Candoria have largely been a group of pirates terrorizing the hyperlanes of the Outer Rim Territories, exploiting the super-hyperlanes of the Morellian Trail of the Hydian Way and the tail end of The Axis. The need for superior hyperdrives were ever so evident, necessary to quickly ambush traveling starships and maximize the number of potential raids. Thus, Banshee Tech quickly compiled the designs for a long-range "hunter-killer" interceptor, reconstituting the design of the Sith Empire's Mark VI Supremacy-class starfighter with a complete overhaul to add modern systems and fill the niche for a high-velocity interceptor capable of the fastest possible hypertravel.

The resulting design required one major modification that broke the norms of traditional hyperdrive-equipped starships: the need for dedicated shielding systems that protected the starship during hypertravel. Stripping away the HS-10 "Hermes" Class Hyperdrive's ability to shift between different modes of FTL travel and focusing on sub-hypertravel only, Viktor successfully leveraged Sith Alchemy to alchemize orichalum to resist the chaotic rifts of phantom energy that would most impact the starship during sub-hypertravel. This eliminated the need for a dedicated shielding system, freeing up critical space, weight, and power to enhance the starship's speed and hyperdrive rating.

The alloy, however, proved to be extremely brittle against any other forces and drastically reduced its defenses to be paper-thin at best. Instead, the intense desire for maximal speed and maneuverability were answered to, leveraging the insanely malevolent Shadow-walker Navigation System to great effect. Most of the starship was comprised of power units, a larger-than-usual hyperdrive, sublight engine blocks, and added coaxium fuel injectors, even stripping away traditional weapon systems to be replaced with two one-time use feedback array launchers for disabling larger ships that detached after use and two light ion cannons for slowly whittling away at a target's ionic capacity. The starship was also equipped with a magna-harpoon launcher it used to great offensive effect, bolting onto enemy starfighters to be dragged around and forcibly crashed at high velocities into other targets or used in conjunction with other together starfighters to forcibly move larger targets. Thus, the starship fundamentally relied on a critical mass of Mark IX Supremacy-class 'Shadehound' Starfighters working in sync, overwhelming single targets with a flurry of starfighters working in conjunction like a ravenous pack of hyenas.

The Mark IX Supremacy-class 'Shadehound' Starfighter is the hallmark starfighter of the Brigands of Candoria and a staple for their banditry.

  • Shadow-walker Initiative: Precognitive by its original nature and cybernetically enhanced to rapidly process complex calculations, the Shadow-walker Navigation System is a dangerously lethal pairing with the Death's Champion extreme maneuverability, speed, and hyperdrive. Capable of complex maneuvers and the complete domination of space with all these components combined, the starfighter is a brutal instrument of blindingly fast proportions.

  • Aspect of Pestilence: Equipped with Bane-class 'Hextech' Missiles, the Death's Champion is one of the few elements of the Brigands of Candoria equipped with Viktor Viktor 's personal brew of world-ending plague. When it reveals itself, the starship is a herald for the start of a new dark age of death and decay.

  • Umbral Glaive: A complex and immensely in-depth stealth system encompasses the entire starship, melding intricate Sith rituals with technology to cloak the Death's Champion from other starships and the Force itself. It is considered one of the most elaborate, paranoid, and cruel creations in the galaxy.

  • End Game Mechanism: In order to guard the designs of the Death's Champion and the sensitive knowledge used to formulate them, a number of fail safe systems have been built into the design. • Ventus Incarnate: The Mark IX Supremacy-class 'Shadehound' Starfighter is able to achieve incredible feats of maneuverability and speed by sacrificing a large part of the ship for more dedicated power matrices and sublight engine blocks. The IE-10 "Event Horizon" Class Ion Engines have added coaxium fuel injectors which provide extraordinary amounts of added speed and acceleration -- colloquially referred to as 'bass boosting' the engines by engineers at Banshee Tech.

Finally, Overdrive Thrusters provide a temporary, yet relentless boost in speed and disengage any missile locks, breaking away from the starfighter after use.

  • Stygian Demise: A multi-fold and comprehensive stealth system guarantees absolute secrecy for the Death's Champion: the first layer of stealth systems are imbued into the hull itself, adding sensor dampening to every part of the starship with a layer of Nightshadow and Chromium mixed into every component. Second, the starship has a dedicated mag-field generator. Finally, a sacrificial Sith ritual tethers the spirit of Tokra Hazz, the sect leader of the Hidden Ones with the power of Lignan Ore and the oversight of two Sith Acolytes to maintain Force stealth on the vessel, preventing its presence in the Force from leaking externally.

† OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION †

† PRODUCTION INFORMATION †

† SPECIAL FEATURES †

† STRENGTHS †
  • Sub-Hyperspace Mastery: Built exclusively to be one of the fastest FTL hyperdrives possible, the Penumbral Hyperdrive is hyper-focused on optimizing for sub-hyperspace travel. Leveraging the ability to travel through the galaxy's space-time continuum, the hyperdrive is capable of reaching incredible hyperspeeds compared to traditional hyperdrives. Cryogenic cells and phantom energy containment units are parallelly filled by sub-hyperspace travel which allow the hyperdrive to initiate any number of 'micro-jumps', short momentary phases into and out of sub-hyperspace. The rifts in sub-hyperspace travel are eliminated by an anti-ion emission tracer, which prevents sensors from tracing the starship's sub-hypertravel path.
  • Endless Power: Equipped with phantom energy collectors, excess phantom energy -- whether from the dark matter reactor or the surrounding area in sub-hyperspace -- is automatically stored and reserved for the starship's power systems. The entire power system is built to efficiently process energy for minimal losses and maximal power gains.
  • Lethal Overclocking: The Penumbral Hyperdrive can be modified slightly, allowing the hyperdrive to be overclocked beyond its safe, operating parameters. By flooding the reactor core of the hyperdrive with excess phantom energy during the quintessence-phantom energy transformation process, a far larger explosion of energy can be created, catapulting the starship at incredible speeds in sub-hyperspace travel. The process can be serialized during sub-hyperspace travel itself, maintaining a maximal speeds throughout the journey.
  • Quiet Presence: The Penumbral Hyperdrive is partially constructed of a Chromium-Impervium alloy and is coated with sensor dampening Nightshadow, providing a mild amount of stealth to the starship component.

† WEAKNESSES †
  • Underworld Pact: Due to the highly sensitive and volatile nature of quintessence dark matter utilized by the system, even the slightest amount of damage to the Penumbral Hyperdrive will result in catastrophic failure, creating a vast explosion that will sunder realspace and leave a gash into sub-hyperspace. The unlikely starship wielding the Penumbral Hyperdrive will be torn apart, broken in pieces scattered across realspace and in unfathomable gaps of sub-hyperspace.
  • Critical System Failures: Due to its enigmatic design and complex technical structure, maintaining and repairing the hyperdrive is near impossible. Thus, any faults in the system can at best be patchworked to not cause imminent explosion. Instead, any repairs must be brought back to a dedicated Banshee Tech shipyard with a specialized Zuguruk hyperdrive technician.
  • Tapping Chaos Incarnate: When 'overclocking' the Penumbral Hyperdrive , a vast amount of instability is introduced to the system, stressing the Impervium reactor core heavily. The limits of the reactor core are constantly tested when 'overclocked' and the probability of critical failure drastically increases.
  • Sinister Design: Light Side Force Abilities inflict damage onto the engine itself, as its overall hull and frame were reinforced with Sith Alchemy.

† DESCRIPTION †
The tradition of building Sith starships started with the Zuguruk Caste: once great builders of the ancient tombs of the Sith, they were repurposed as the focus of the Sith shifted toward external force projection, taking the same engineering prowess and greatness to building vast battleships. The First Sith Empire, commandeered by Dark Jedi who fled during the First Great Schism, overpowered the Sith and as its conquerors redirected the Zuguruk Caste under the Sorzus Syn, leading to the creation of new technical schematics that bypassed the ancient Sith rituals and magic that were once integral to Sith society. The melting point of a rapid introduction to greater technologies and ancient Sith alchemy constructed wonderous creations that surpassed all others in form and mettle.

At the bleeding edge of the Zuguruk was a great engineer and pioneer, a Force Sensitive that remained too ill-equipped to be considered part of the Kissai yet with enough workings with Sith alchemy and magic to construct the first device to breach into sub-hyperspace. Unfortunately, the experiment led to the widespread destruction of the Zuguruk himself along with an extensive portion of his laboratory. The building was razed and rebuilt, efficiently processing the failure as the past and with the Zuguruk Caste rapidly iterating onto the next set of engineers to build other weapons and starship components for the Sith Empire's military. A scroll detailing the process was lost in the myriad of collected debris, earmarked as trash and disposed of promptly.

The scroll was eventually found by Viktor in the Ashes of Korr, embedded in an ice asteroid harvested in the debris field. Within, Viktor learned of the Zuguruk's great findings, ranging from his experiences working with Sith alchemized alloys to most importantly, the discovery of phantom energy and its near limitless energy potentials. Particularly, the Zuguruk theorized that there was an underlying connection between the Dark side of the Force and phantom energy itself, intrinsically tied to the greater subject of dark matter. While little substantiated these claims other than illogical ramblings of insanity from the Zuguruk, it brought up an interesting point of further leveraging Sith alchemy and magic to be used as auxiliary control mechanisms for sub-hyperspace travel.

This bore fruit to one of the key design components of the Penumbral Hyperdrive: Chromium-Impervium Alloys imbued with Sith magic to constantly cast alter environment to stabilize the chaotic and unpredictable nature of quintessence and phantom energy into a more manageable form. This enabled phantom energy to be channeled more effectively, enabling the Penumbral Hyperdrive to precisely create rifts into sub-hyperspace matching exacting specifications. This greatly enhanced the energy performance of the hyperdrive and limited variability, enabling the hyperdrive to further be stressed with 'overclocking' despite it exceeding normal operating standards for other sub-hyperspace hyperdrives.

The Penumbral Hyperdrive is an iconoclastic FTL option that echoes to the infusion of technology and Sith magic once standard back during the rule of the First Sith Empire.
