† OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION †
† PRODUCTION INFORMATION †
† TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS †
  • Classification: Projectile Missile with Biological Warhead
  • Size: Average
  • Weight: Average
  • Explosive Type:: Biological, Pyro Denton (Minor)
  • Delivery Method: Self-Propelled
  • Effective Range: Personal
  • Area Of Effect: Average (Biological), Point Blank (Explosive)
  • Damage Output: Extreme (Biological), Very Low (Explosive)

† SPECIAL FEATURES †
  • Bane of Mortals: The Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile is specialized for breaching into the hull of a bunker, vehicle or starship and expulsing out a rapid dispersal of its biological weapon payload. The Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile comes standard with a Candorian Plague biological warhead loadout, which can easily be swapped out for other biological weapons warheads.
  • Armorpiercer: As the Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile needs to infiltrate into the bulk space of the bunker, vehicle or starship in question, the head of the missile comes with a small directed Pyro Denton explosive charge and a special boring mechanism which slowly intricates itself into the hull.
  • Death Seeker: Like traditional concussion missiles, the Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile has a relatively short range due to its sleeker profile compared with larger proton torpedoes and proton bombs. This is ameliorated with the missile's high tracking on-board guidance systems and faster propulsion systems.

† STRENGTHS †
  • Organic Decimator: Once the Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile has entered into the life support systems of a starship, the rapid dispersal of its weapon payload will decimate any organic or biological species it encounters. The Candorian Plague is a particularly agonizing, fast killing, and extremely infectious agent that has been banned by several Galactic Governments for its lethality.
  • World Ending Plague: While the Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile has an equivalent blast radius of a standard concussion missile, the subsequent transmission of the contagion can rapidly infect entire cities or planets if left unchecked.
  • Silent Executioner: A thin layer of Chromium gilds the hull of the missile, providing sensor dampening to the entire missile and making it harder to track by flak cannons, close-in weapon systems, and general sensor systems.

† WEAKNESSES †
  • Contained Menace: Any facility, vehicle or starship with medical grade life support systems can isolate and vent the biological weapon with minimal casualties. Furthermore, larger starships can seal off affected areas given a skilled starship engineer, venting the affected area and its adjacent compartments into space, preventing the spread of the biological weapon. Furthermore, completely vacuum sealed suits, vehicles, and ships can prevent initial infection.
  • Droid Superiority: Any inorganics or droids are completely unaffected by the biological weapon, unless the Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile has been specifically equipped with a biological weapon targeting them.
  • Minimal Hull Damage: Designed to subdue starships rather than destroy them, the Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile inflicts little to no damage to the hull itself other than at the point of impact. As its intended targets are from the corvette size or down, the missile is less effective on more heavily armored targets with larger bulk spaces and thicker hulls.

† DESCRIPTION †
The Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile was designed by Viktor Corvus to efficiently subdue any resistance by merchant fleets, convoys, and civilian targets to allow him and his band of marauders, the Brigands of Candoria, to effortlessly and quickly seize their starships, merchandise and cargo. Unafraid of the dangerous plagues he unleashed on his targets and a complete disregard to any ethical or moral dilemmas presented, this weapon was designed for maximal lethality.

Designed off traditional concussion missiles, the Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile comes with onboard tracking systems to more accurately take down targets. The design largely remains the same, sporting a decent firing range and accuracy at a great cost effectiveness. The majority of the added expenses come from the missile's unique housing system for biological weapon warheads, adding a rapid aerosol dispersion mechanism for quickly consuming any and all airspace available within the vessel. The boring mechanism on the tip of the missile is built with a directional Pyro Denton explosive charge and four standard mining lasers, which reduce the effectiveness of the design on denser hulls, as the intended targets were limited to freighters, small craft, or corvettes.

The standard payload for a Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile is equipped with enough Candorian Plague to infect an entire city of organics in the span of hours. Coupled with the extreme contagiousness and deadliness of the plague itself, it makes the Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile a formidable weapon against living beings. In practice, the initial dispersal of the biological warhead is limited to the area of few hundred cubic meters, largely relying on the exponential transmission of the plague itself to decimate populations, especially those living in close proximity.

Finally, like all products of Banshee Tech, the Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile comes with a particularly vindictive fail-safe system that detonates the device upon any attempts at reverse engineering or modification, destroying the missile with strategically placed Chepatite Impact Explosives with the equivalent payload of an infantry-based concussion missile. In the case that the warhead has not been expended, the warhead will also detonate and release its biological weapon payload. While the missile cannot be remotely detonated, it can be pre-coded to be detonated after a certain time interval.

Barring several pain points of utilizing biological weapons and its complex manufacturing process, the Bane-class 'Hextech' Missile is the best solution for terrorizing your nearest hyperlane.
