STRENGTHS

Galven Circuit - The addition of this component into the AT-NB5 provides the weapon with a harder output of damage than that of a standard Blaster Pistol. This is accomplished through the galven circuits concentrating the blaster beam into a more powerful and highly concentrated discharge.

Auto-steady Gyrogimbal - Each AT-NB5 was designed with the addition of these specialized components that aid in keeping the Blaster Pistol steady while it is being discharged.

Durability - The AT-NB5 was constructed utilizing alloys and materials that are more commonly utilized in the production of armor. For this reason, the weapon is known to be much more durable, and capable of handling abuse that might otherwise render a standard blaster pistol inoperable.

WEAKNESSES

Minimal Range - The AT-NB5 was not designed to act as a primary weapon and as such, it lacks the effective range of heavier blaster pistols and even smaller blaster rifles. However, its effective range is more than enough when deployed in the tighter corridors of the Starships on which they will be deployed.

Small Magazine - As these weapons were designed to serve as a secondary firearm and not a primary weapon, they lack a larger magazine capacity. The AT-NB5 is known to be able to fire a dozen blaster bolts before its power cell needs to be replaced.

Galven Components - The addition of these specialized components to the AT-NB5 requires further upkeep and maintenance to be carried on these weapons. If this maintenance is not kept up to date, the likelihood of the weapon misfiring or otherwise being rendered inoperable increases.

DESCRIPTION

There are moments when a Captain cannot merely sit idly by and expect others to protect their person or to protect their vessel, and in those moments most of all, the Captain needs to act. With the likelihood of boarding actions becoming more prominent as the Galactic Alliance faces conflict from both the Mandalorian Enclave and a growing threat in the Sith Order, the need to ensure that the Officers of their vessels are equipped with the means to protect their vessels is paramount. It is for this reason that the AT-NB5 was produced and is quickly finding itself issued throughout the Naval Officers of the Galactic Alliance Defense Force. Manufactured from materials more commonly utilized in the construction of armor, the AT-NB5 was designed to be able to withstand abuse and remain operable. The addition of specialized galven components provides the weapon with an additional boost to its energy output, resulting in a more powerful and concentrated blaster bolt than that produced by a standard blaster pistol. However, the weapon is known to have a limited magazine, as the AT-NB5 can fire roughly a dozen bolts before its power cell needs to be replaced or recharged. And though capable of producing a higher damage output, the range of the weapon is minimal and well suited for the tight confines of the starship corridors in which it will be deployed. The AT-NB5 provides the Officers of the Galactic Alliance a means to further protect their vessels in those moments when an enemy has managed to invade their homes. With a reasonable size and weight, it is not unwieldy or bulky and easily utilized by those with even minimalist training. The AT-NB5 further expands upon the otherwise expansive arsenal that the members of the Galactic Alliance Defense Force can bring to bear.
