- Improves the users connection to the light side of the force. If properly blessed and prayed to before combat, and also worn in plain sight, the item grants the following change. This is a fixed change and there is no benefit from wearing multiple.
- Improves the wearer's resistance to the darkside force effects
- Enhances the effect beneficial light side powers that affect the wearer
- Warms to the touch as it counters dark side users and the micro-engraving is said to glow faintly. This dissipates slowly once away from a source of dark energy.
- The alchemical treatment starts from the type of gold picked, the ancient text suggest that Jedi of old picked gold mined from pure veins on Jedi tomb worlds. Planets where the force was brought into balance by the resting of powerful light siders. For this purpose, the crusaders chose an asteroid belt around the holy site of Salar's rest.
- The gold is then smelted and very specific reagents are added to the gold as it cools to a portable temperature, this causes it to connect with the force causing a barely noticeable pull towards it.
- Microscopic etchings must then be carried out in the gold, according to strict diagrams laid out in the texts. This etching would form channels that would funnel the flowing force into the centre of the pendant.
- If one could see the force as water, they would see what looked like a faint vortex of force flowing in to the gem surrounded by calmness and serenity. This effect moves the turbulence of the darkside towards the centre of the pendant where it interacts with the alchemical reagents heating them up, but where there is turbulence, it must be balanced by calm, and further out the force is calmer, more balanced an in tune with the light side.
- The final part of the process involves a short ceremony in which the wearer is adorned with the pendant, either to their armour or person. This stage is more of a tradition than part of the alchemy itself but is treated with similar respect and care.
- The vortex is slow and barely noticeable to even force sensitives, but a dark sider skilled in the force sense power will feel the most gentle tug on them.
- Away from darkness - Improves force resistance against dark side powers
- Towards the Light - Reduces resistance to beneficial light side powers
- Must be worn in plain sight - the power only works if the item is worn proudly, adorned in the armour or on a chain attached to the person.
- Overload - As it absorbs more and more dark force energy it warms up and will eventually begin to melt if it absorbs too much over a short space of time. Particualry powerful dark siders could cause the item to immediately explode by hitting it with something like force lighting.
- Corrupting - This is an unfortunate side effect that whilst containging dark side energy it can slowly leach into the wearer, corrupting them if they are not strong enough. Signs of this are wearers becoming particularly obsessed and protective of their trinket. For this reason it is only routinely issued to strong willed or trained individuals.
- Of no use to darksiders - the trinket will leach dark side power from the wearer, warming and warming with no chance to cool down until it melts.
- A limit to protection - only a light side force user can get the true potential from this item, and specifically only one with the rank of Player Character. If not equipped by a light side PC, the highest this will ever raise force resistance to is Very High
- Force nullification - as an item bonded to the force, while in an area of force nullification or suppression, any advantages are immediately suppressed.
The secrets of production of this trinket, once used by ancient light side armies, were uncovered by Isla Draellix in the diary of an ancient Sith admiral that was recovered by Brimstone.
Neither of the two understood its true meaning, so, in secret they enlisted the help of a light side force user that was willing to read and discuss Sith texts. Eventually they broke down the secrets of what was originally called a Jedi Rosary and used as a weapon against the Sith nearly 10000 years ago.
With permission of other members of the Ashlan Council, not telling them of the primary source of the information, metalsmiths created this old Jedi weapon and it was tested. It was forged with the Ashlan Crest as a badge of honour and microscopic laser engraving was used to add the appropriate litanies and prayers.
The item is now gifted to Ashlan leaders, officers, noted dignitaries and specific military units, most notably the Order of the Sisters of Ashla, their basic training including force corruption resistance, enabling them to resist its negative effects. To a point.
