Sergeant Omen

Arc Trooper Sergeant of the 41st Elite Corps

As soon as he saw the woman's scowl, he knew he had picked the wrong person to talk to. This was going to be an uphill climb not to get shot. The way she thought he was trying to be anything more than friendly made him have some guesses about what she was truly after but he would keep most those to himself. He tried to have a passive face in order to try to stay with what might be a lost cause "Ma'am, no offense but not every male in this galaxy is clambering to get into bed with you. Some are just trying to be friendly... Besides..." He nodded to the blonde woman that she had saluted with her glass. "I think you like the same gender anyway, don't you? But then again that's none of my business."

He quietly sat down beside her and looked out at the ocean, closing his eyes and humming softly to himself for a couple of minutes as he meditated, mostly to give her some respite from his questions. He closed his eyes and dived into the river that was the force before coming to the surface again. "I take it your the royal's bodyguard since you are watching her like a sand panther out of the corner of your eye. That seems like a very difficult job to keep her in sight at all times. I probably couldn't do it but then again I'm just a clone from 850 years ago who was cloned from both Jango Fett and a Jedi Master with who knows what else thrown into the genetics pot who just owns his own brewery.

As the Trooper let out his breath, he released himself from the river of the force, and opened his eyes, giving the woman a soft smile to let her know that he wasn't going to kill her charge anytime soon. "Omen by the way though you probably don't want to hear the name of someone who has annoyed you in the first 15 seconds of meeting them. What is your name if I may be so bold?"

"I believe everyone would become diplomats were this the means of negotiation. Though I feel certain parties might be at more an advantage than others." She smiled in return to his wave, tracing the top line of her one piece.

"I do hope my superiors did not cause you much distress. Ideas once solidified have a way of taking hold of the better senses." She mused, pondering on what she had seen then. Her head tilted slightly to regard Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble a bit better.

"Its my solemn belief that regardless of affiliations every being is more than what is plainly visible." Her hand extended as the assistant returned quietly and slipped her a glass with what looked to be juice.

"Thank you. Go enjoy yourself Delman. You've more than earned it." The man scooted away without a second thought. A small sip and a shiver had her setting the drink down before addressing him once more.

"I enjoy gardening, something so relaxing about it. Letting the mind wander while enjoying the scents of flowers and freshly turned ground. What about you? What do you enjoy in your time away from everything else?"

Sir Blair was never any good with flattery, but he was glad to hear the Grand Admiral thought him a friendly face. He wasn't well kept with the Star Thistle's standing, nor what his fellow Crusaders thought of him. He'd heard mockery such as 'Laughing Louts' or 'Band of Bastards' before, but he never attributed it to any specific Order. Truth be told? Even if he could do so, he wouldn't. He didn't blame anyone for whatever opinions they had. In fact he had turned around and called them the same things many times after he heard it. To show them those words meant little, that either way they were soldiers, and they could get the job done as good as any others.

"Yes, our popularity has never exactly been soaring I suppose, at least we're here giving diplomacy a try?" He'd never been any sort of go to for Diplomatic Solutions, though he knew the inside of the AC's own Ways very well. Afterall he had risen from a simple believer to his current station. Comments on the niceties of this all did not pass him either, and his own comfortable levels. "Well they're good soldiers, they deserve some sand and some waves. They don't know how to ask for vacations, so if I don't take them out they'll overwork themselves. Know what it's like to get drunk off Correlian Whisky with a bunch of regular drinkers? If you don't? Count yourself blessed, I rue the days I have to take these lads and lasses out for a drink." Even so, a hearty laugh escaped Sir Blair.

After returning the blessings he took a sip of his own drink, Correlian Whisky of course.
In truth it was he who had gotten his soldiers into the drink, but they took to it like a newborn to mother's milk. He couldn't stop a chuckle from his companion's blunder either way. Often did alcohol loosen the lips, so it's not like the drink would have helped either way.
"Anyways, how go the soldiers?" Even now his mind couldn't come off warfare. "Gah, ignore the previous question. Nice weather we're havin' eh?"

"Corin Autem. Likewise." Raising her glass, she took a sip of her whiskey. A long time ago she had been against the idea of daytime drinking. Nowadays, however, she found there was nothing better than kicking back with a nice cold beverage and just letting the time slip right on by. It made a nice change from trying to keep her soldiers out of mischief.

Putting her drink aside, the Ultranaut laid back in her chair, head tilted to the sky. She had only just closed her eyes when a rustling sound brought her back to her senses. Sitting up, she was surprised to see the Empress had vacated her nice spot in the shade and had began to walk down the beach towards... "What the hell is that?" She asked no-one in particular, staring over the top of her shades at the thing walking up the beach towards Ingrid. For a heartbeat, the Major was torn on what to do. And then she started paying more attention to the Empress. Was there a sway to her hips?

Realization dawned.

"Never mind." Leaning back in her seat, Corin allowed herself to smile. Whatever he is, only the Gods can help him now, she thought as Kahlil and the woman -Millia, was it?- began to converse amongst themselves. Cor tried her best not to eavesdrop, but being sat so close, she found herself practically unable to remain apart from it all. "Hiking. Swimming. Orienteering." Turning to look at the sprawling figure of Millia, the Ultranaut smiled apologetically as she joined -or interrupted- the conversation. "I find there's nothing quite like taking in the natural beauty of the world around you and keeping fit at the same time."

Reaching off to her side, Cor groped until she felt the cool press of a glass against her palm.

"What of you, Kahlil? You were going to say something before I so rudely interrupted. Sorry about that, by the way."

"Given what my family has done to so many, I'm certainly not going to complain. Though I don't think I've come across anyone to hold my family name against me." Ah, there it was. Some business, regardless. At least it wasn't anything too serious, and it didn't linger as the topic. Though right into hobbies? Kahlil raised a brow at the turn of conversation. And before he had a chance to actually respond another interrupted.

He chuckled mostly to himself as he turned his gaze towards the water again, half listening to the two woman converse. He really should go for a swim at some point.

"Hmm? Oh, no trouble. I like working on my ship. Making sure it stays running and such. Improving what I can. Everything has a place, a purpose. It's just relaxing I suppose."

Despite what the others thought, not everybody needed time to relax. Not everybody had time to enjoy themselves. And not everybody was only focusing on relaxing.

Of course, that was probably because Red didn't fully understand what the word "relax" meant yet.

Currently, Red lay in the underbrush of the jungle near the shore, laying an ambush down for the enemy team. Sadly, Red hadn't been able to bring his own weapons, apparently they were forbidden, but the water guns the resort provided would make do. Red was creative enough to make do with what he had.

Red had sent his team ahead to take on the enemy, and to try and capture their flag. It was truly a sight to behold, a ton of hardened soldiers, armed with only water guns, hosing each other down. It confused him, how could anyone relax in this situation? There were wars to be fought, and battles to be won. How could they all just forget their worries?

No matter, right now, Red's only focus was too lay a trap for the enemy team. And so, he sat in the thick bushes, waiting for someone to stumble into his trap...

Objective: Socialise!

The smell of food had begun to get Tovald's attention, it made him want to get up and pick his way through the sand and to where the smells were coming from. Slowly he got up and went to where there is food. But he soon hit a problem, what to get for himself, the choices were vast. He hated choosing because he wanted both but was polite to only take one thing. So he picked the most appetising to take with him.

Before he arrived, he did brush up on EE rules and etiquette. Just because 99% of his kind care very little for other customs doesn't mean he should follow suit, he wants to be better than that. He remembered seeing Ingrid before when he was asking what the Bryn were. Good lords, that was embarrassing, he should have known beforehand. Well, at least he was able to recover from that blunder with his ego intact.

Speaking of which, he should socialise more, no good being on his own. He was likened to a "Cat Lady" quite often now. Cats are easier to be around than people. But still making connections is good for the mood. He thinks he can see Ingrid so he headed towards where she was currently.

"How goes the soldiers?" She replied, noting Sir Blair's effort to correct himself for talking business, "well, they are performing excellently, the comman structure is finding its way still, but te talent and the will is there."

She stopped herself going any further into matters of state "Do you surf where you are from? I need to get back out on those waves." She looked over and saw glistening pipes rolling towards the beach just aching to be rode, and she was itching to ride them.

She put two fingers in her mouth and blew a loud whistle.
"Any of you lot surf?" She pulled her board out of the sand and began to walk toward the breaking waves. Watching to see if any of the other dignitaries followed "I want to see what you've got out there" she suspected a lot of them were too busy fawning over of flirting with the Empress, she couldn't blame them really, she could only respect a woman of power, and she had the looks to match her authority.

She put her sarong back into its pouch and adjusted the leg line of her one piece bottoms, it was cut high to prevent it riding up as she surfed but she still found herself having to adjust it all the time. Maybe next time she would just rock a pair of beach shorts like the guys, now that would cause an interesting scene. One day she would find the perfect suit that emphasised her figure while being secure, but also didn't ride its way where it wasn't welcome.

"You may bear the name, but that does not dictate your path." She smiled though did not look to him as she listened to them both speak. Her eyes drifted to the ultranaut, the smiling never fading as she gave a small laugh.

"There is a certain pull to nature. Though working with ones hands can bring equal peace. The mind can easily become distracted from life if not for moments like this." She mused, pondering much the same as Kahlil about taking a dip. The thought was shelved quickly as she pulled the edge of the cover beneath her thigh a bit better. Only then did the smile waver.

"What are everyone's plans for the future then?" Her hand extended and she sipped from her glass.

"Personally I would enjoy working towards more of these meetings. Not just between our two groups, but those willing across the galaxy." She went ahead and opened the topic further.

Dimitri sat quietly and watched the people gathered enjoy themselves without reservation.
His seat along the edge of the water, watching another enjoy themselves as he let his eyes roam over the sight. It was a far cry from the generated atmosphere elsehwere, but a welcome diversion from it.
It had been a long time since he had heard such joyous noise. Especially when it was revealed that the two parties involved with the revelries had only just a short time ago been engaged in combat. It was a far cry from the Scintilla. A place that had long become quiet and absent of the near hectic energy that he had abruptly become accustomed to.
The Eternal Empire had extended their hand numerous times in an effort to include those that remained of the Agents. Even accepting former Agents into their ranks if memory served.
It had been a long pondered offer.
Byss felt like forever and a day ago, yet burned brightly in his mind. Watching the hulls of starships burn against the near literal wall that had been erected around the planet.
The thoughts slipped away as the blonde wandered to the beach, speaking with others as he stood, carefully picking up the board and sliding the tether over his wrist before adjusting it once more.
He slid into the water atop the board and paddled out.

Eyes roving across the beach, his gaze eventually settled on Ingrid and her predatory smile. Returning that with his own predatory smile, he continued his sedate walk towards her. Idly he noticed the rest of the tourists gawking at her and it made him laugh. Not one of them would ever be found on a battlefield, much less be able to survive Ingrid. Weak, one and all. Where Ingrid's motion were poised with grace and appeal, Zachariel's was a simple, confident stride, not bothering to try and impress anyone.

Pausing as they met in the middle, Zachariel's eyes flashed predatorially, even as he smiled down at her. Eyes followed her as she circled him, and the image of a predator circling prey wasn't lost on him. In a sense, that amused him even more. They were both predators, and Zachariel cared little what others thought he was to Ingrid. Nor would he believe the same things she did regarding their work relationship. To her, he may be a trophy or a pet, but to him she was primarily just a different form of excitement, another game. No doubt reality was different than any truly knew, but one thing was clear to him, they had common goals.

With her stopping before him once more, Zachariel looked her over before returning his gaze to her eyes.
"And miss a sight like this? Never. You've fully committed to the beautiful goddess part that so many see you as. I can see why."

Chuckling low, Zachariel took his own turn to circle her, giving her a thorough look over. At the same time, he'd run his own hand across her shoulders, if she let him of course. Stopping before her once again, he'd keep a hand on her shoulder while grinning down at her. Hand tracing over to her neck and then up to her chin, Zachariel leans forward and all but whispers to her.
"Well my dear, what game of intrigue and seduction shall we play today? Perhaps something surprising?"

Laughing once more, Zachariel waits for some sign of affirmation to a surprise. Once he has it, he swiftly picks Ingrid up and places her atop his left shoulder. Making sure to keep her balanced atop his shoulder, Zachariel keeps an arm across her thighs to hold her steady. Looking up at her now, he chuckles again.
"I'm glad you decided to join me Ingrid, and I do hope the surprises don't end just yet."

As for the chances of survival of tourists… there is a good chance that Ingrid and Zachariel would be able to exterminate the entire planet without help and weapons. Two warmachines. Luckily, they are just here to relax today and not go to war. The last time they met was at Lipsec, then at Rhand, Port Sorrow, the man bombarded exactly the space where the woman was. The solution there impressed her from a military point of view, even if she still condemned the methods.

As she walked around the man, she felt how well Zachariel was having fun with this. They were both aware that this was just a game, nothing more. In fact, it’s probably harmless, even if it didn’t look close to it. Ingrid had to learn at a very young age not to be disgusted by any appearance, nor did she ever bother with this. One thing was able to impress her, the soul. For one night affairs, of course, it was important that the person chosen looked good, but for a long-term relationship, it didn’t matter to her.

Adrian was very handsome in human form, but the woman even found the sithspawn's form cute and repeatedly told her later husband that in whatever form he chose, she loves the man’s personality, his soul, not his appearance. That’s why the man’s soul was still in pieces, because she wanted the original Adrian, not just a copy. Other issue, Turbos was also handsome; as did Telis Taharin-Zambrano Telis Taharin-Zambrano , in the Sith Lord's human form, but the woman was not bothered by the reptile-like figure either. But returning to Zachariel…

The chemistry worked great between the two of them, even though they differed in many things. In their case, the opposites attracted each other and made the dance, the game even more exciting. She laughed at Zachariel's words; her natural laughter could have had such an effect on those who heard it as when a lover gently stroked their chosen's back, all the way along the spine. Pleasant, warm, tingling feeling. Not too many people were lucky to hear Ingrid's soft laugh.

"I still don’t like it when someone thinks I am a goddess or calls me like that! Even if my husband does that. But I'm glad you like what you see." she replied simply, now her voice was not cold or military; it was more direct.

Now she was the one who let the man circle around her. As a sign of the red-haired woman's confidence, she did not turn after him, though all her nerves and instincts wanted to do so. Predators will not be vulnerable to another predator. Even if that person serves them. When Zachariel returned, she looked up at him, still smiling. As the man reached for her neck, the Empress closed her eyes and tilted her head slightly to the side to offer him even more from her long, graceful neck. As the man's hand reached her chin, Ingrid opened her eyes and raised her head to look into the man's eyes and lean closer to him.

"Something surprising!" she purred as she replied softly.

Zachariel's next move surprised her a little, but she didn't protest. Ingrid looked down at gen’dai and an evil smile appeared on her lips as she now was who reached under the man’s chin and leaned closer.

"I remember promising something at Port Sorrow… and I have a nasty scratch on my armour caused by a shrapnel!" she whispered.

Nodding at Kahlil's words, Corin took a sip of her drink. The ice in the glass clinked as she let it back down. "To each their own." Hoping her voice would come across as understanding and nothing else, the Ultranaut's smile grew as Millia gave a small laugh in response to her last answer. Though a stranger to Corin, the other redhead didn't seem like the bad sought. If she were, well, Corin would've found somewhere else to sit and relax. Maybe with Lil and her new friend.

Speaking of which, did he just pull his eye out?!

Momentarily distracted, it took a few seconds for Corin to realize that Millia was talking. Focusing her attention on the Crusader, Cor couldn't help but smile wider at her next words. They were both parts naive and hopeful, and it warmed the Ultranaut's cold, cold heart to hear them. "If that were to ever happen, I fear I would be out of a job soon after." The Ultranaut laughed, her voice warm as the sands upon which they were situated. Looking across at Millia, her eyes softened as she gave the woman a sad shake of her head.

"I can't fault you your hope. I sometimes wonder what it's all for, too." She paused to take a sip of her drink, a gentle breeze stirring the leafy canopy above. "Then, I realize they're not paying me enough to figure that out." She shrugged. "You know how it is."

"Money shouldn't be what makes wanting more with life worth it." Kahlil turned his gaze from the beach to glance Corin's way, a single brow raised. Perhaps it was just the Jedi in him, but then again as a Sith he was only supposed to want for power. By wondering why, he found a new path. "Then again, it's my duty as a Jedi to hope for peace."

He hummed softly before closing his eyes. What did he see for the future? "Settle down, help redeem the Zambrano name. Have a family. That's all I'd like in the future."

"You would find a different brand of work. War is not your only purpose. Someone of your skill and with your hobbies could easily take to leading tours or hunts." She offered to the ultranaut. There was no malice or sarcasm to her voice. Merely cheer and an avenue the other might not have pondered.

"Hope is nothing more than wishing with all one has. If we stop hoping, and wishing we do nothing more than exist without our own purpose. Mere dolls for another to string along." Sadness was thick in the words even with the broad smile she wore. A deeper understanding that she only hinted at as she looked beyond them out to the sea.

"Be that as it may, they might not pay us enough, but it is nice to be heard sometimes." The cold chill from her drink was pleasant in the breeze, eyes wandering over to the Empress briefly.

"A legacy, and a worthy goal. I wish you and yours the best of luck." She gave a small thumbs up with a grin to him.

She almost jumped out of her seat upon seeing him.

Pulling up her sunglasses and lifting the brim of her hat, a soft, coy smile slowly manifested across Ivixa’s cyan features as her golden eyes pored up and down his lean, tan form. It bore all the scars Ivixa had grown so familiar with, her memory still fresh from those few wild nights. They felt like so long ago, if only for the fact that Ivixa was no longer the same fresh-faced Huntress she had been. Her ideals had changed with her induction into Blackwatch, service with the Eternal Empire shifting her perspective on the galaxy. She had been somewhat resistant at first, but it was impossible to remain an idealist for long in seeing so much of the worst the galaxy had to offer.

Nevertheless, upon seeing Conn, Ivixa found herself smiling like a giddy school girl once more.

“Conn! OhmygoshIcan’tbelieveit!” She rattled out with vivacious energy, before slamming her powerful, compact form into his chest for a hug, the impact possibly carrying enough force to knock the swordsman over or knock the wind out of his lungs. If one thing was apparent, it was that Ivixa had gotten much stronger since their last encounter.

“It’s been so, so long! What have you been up to? Are you making money? Also, have you been...” Ivixa trailed off, before blurting out again. ”Oh my gosh wait, before anything else...we have to...” There was a short pause, as Ivixa fumbled for her HoloLink, which had fallen into the sand in her excitement.

“Take a selfie! Say cheese!” She said as she raised her HoloLink up, trying to get Conn’s face in the frame, in spite of him being markedly taller than her.

Returning Kahlil's gaze, Corin nodded in response to his words. "If my only thoughts were for money, I would've become a contractor." Looking out across the sands, the Ultranaut sighed contentedly as she took in the sights. The Jedi and Millia hadn't been the only ones tempted to take a dip. Corin knew from experience that the waters were just as welcoming as they looked, and she wasn't against the idea of going for another swim. Maybe they would, given time.

Taking another sip of her drink, Cor saw the last drops off before placing the glass in the sand. A few more of those wouldn't go amiss, she thought, leaning back in her chair with a smile.

A note of sadness in Millia's voice saw that smile wither some. Opening one eye, she watched the redhead closely. Caught between confusion and concern, her worries were soon laid to rest when she noticed the woman smiling. Even so, the Ultranaut couldn't help but read between the lines as she turned her gaze away. To the sea, the sands, and the people enjoying them.

"Be that as it may, they might not pay us enough, but it is nice to be heard sometimes."

"That it is, Miss Brimarch." Corin replied, a ghost of humour creeping into her voice as if to say 'I hear you just fine'. "Now, I don't know about you two, but all this talking is making me hungry." Shifting in her seat, she raised an eyebrow expectantly. "Wanna grab a bite? If so, I know just the person to go to."

Ingrid looked busy and it’s rude to butt in, so he took a detour to the beach bar. His gaze travelled down and saw all his feline companions had followed him. Mostly because of his choice of foodstuffs, not that he minded, since getting pets Tovald’s mood improved greatly and, he found it easier to be, well, more relaxed and not to be too serious. Besides, cats are funny creatures and easier to be around than people. Of course, most of his conversations were one-sided, but that wasn’t a big issue at all. In fact, sometimes he preferred it.

Well, he did have to explain why he chucked furniture into the ocean to a very bemused Barman, Tovald never really got along with Beach furniture and they always seem to malfunction when he uses them. It was war, a war of not getting stuck in a Deck Chair or one of those long plastic seats. Which did happen, quite a while ago and it took him almost an hour to get free. It was embarrassing. People just stared at him rather than helping him get free.

He explained that he really had enough of getting stuck every time and ended it with a one-way trip into the Ocean and not kicked or stomped at all over the sand. He was this close to kicking it in such fashion and the Barman chuckled as he poured the Ubese a drink, something tangy and fresh, very Beachy which is very fitting for the party.

Even if he didn't talk to many people, he just enjoyed the atmosphere.

With their game continuing, Zachariel's focus was on Ingrid, a grin across his face. His amusement of this game was evident, and Zachariel felt he understood her own as well. Alongside that, a simple appreciation for her. From her beauty to the laugh so few heard, a natural laugh out of her. Perhaps there was more between them, not exactly romantically, but personally. Their true selves were released, moreso in Ingrids case, as Zachariel never truly hid himself.

She was outgoing and sought fun and company, but her duties prevented that from happening naturally. It also meant she could rarely be herself, outside the personal bounds of family and relations. Zachariel on the other hand, he was a brutal warrior with few peers, though few ever saw the more conniving part of him. With each other however, she could be more open and less strict, while Zachariel didn't have to maintain his brutal appearance. Yes it was who they were, but it was also a show for others at the same time.

Chuckling low, Zachariel shook his head at her. She may not like being called a goddess, but many still called her that.
"I'm sure different people have different meanings for it, but there may be an inkling of truth. Especially with your current... appearance."

Letting out an appreciative chuckle, Zachariel soon circled her. He noted her senses flare but otherwise remain impassive, something that earned a smirk from him. Running his hand from her shoulder to her neck, Zachariel's grip tightened for a moment, giving her a teasing squeeze. then his hand went to her chin with a smile. Soon enough he was hefting her with ease, planting her atop his shoulder with a smirk. The short surprise from her was worth it, and earned another chuckle.

As she spoke once more, Zachariel's mischievous grin returned as he looked up at her. Tilting his head further up, chin on her hand, Zachariel's rumbling laugh shook his frame, and thus Ingrid.
"As far as excuses to get me out of my armor, I've heard worse." Still rumbling a laugh, Zachariel's head tilted in her grasp. Neck extending somewhat in her grasp, Zachariel brought his face closer to hers, grip tightening on her, teasing her. "So my dear, what shall it be?"

Dolls to be strung along by another. Kahlil shivered inwardly. Such was a fate he'd had to face down before. At least now he was free to choose his own path, right? The lingering doubt was still there. How much of his father remained. He half laughed as he zoned back into the conversation, flashing a grin to the pair of woman.

"Hey, at least you're getting paid, right?"
