  • Climate: Formerly temperate winters and hot, dry summers; now consistently hot
  • Primary Terrain: Plains and shallow oceans
  • Atmosphere: Type III
LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: Marinok (ruined)
  • Planetary Features Before Andresia turned into a toxic wasteland, most of Andresia's landscape was covered by grassy plains. Nabooan shaaks had been introduced as herd animals with mixed success early in the planet's history, but the primarily unarable soil necessitated a healthy trade in foodstuffs from other worlds. Andresia's human population had originally made due with food sources in the cities, but as the cities themselves expanded this became infeasible. Andresia's oceans were famous for being incredibly shallow, rarely more than 100 meters deep. As a result, sea creatures tended to be small and the introduction of exotic predators was strictly controlled by law. Early colonists attempted to create land bridges to link the various continents, with minimal success. As a result, a business of high-speed ferry passage across the oceans sprang up.
  • Major Locations (Ruined):
[1] Capital Wasteland - Used to be the called Marinok City, the capital of Andresia before the Bombardment, named for the Bothan spacer who led the first colonizing mission, Ulu'uk Marinok. Marinok City was deliberately designed to mirror the architecture of Coruscant; it failed badly, leaving the city with a permanently antiqued appearance. The major spaceport of the planet was located in the capital, and as a result Hutt bribery of elected officials was rampant. Marinok City was connected to two of the planet's oceans by a river that flowed through it, east to west. The city is now called as the Capital Wasteland by the mutated natives which is hardly hit by the Bombardment.
  • [2] Boneyard of the Crystals, colloquially called "Bone City" - The second largest city, home to 8.36 million inhabitants at its peak during the pre-Bombardment, was Krystal. Three nearby ore veins made the city prosper quickly, and only fifty years after settlement it had its own spaceport. Unlike most cities on Andaria, Krystal had a very metropolized look and feel, and was a place in which it was easy to get lost. Yossun Zaishwa was born in Krystal, now called the Bone City. TAKE NOTE: These cities are now considered ruins.
    • Major Locations (Post-Bombardment):
      • Necropolis - The de facto capital of large settlement created by the civilized mutated surface dwellers called Necrohuman (colloquially called "Necros") which is located in the outskirts of the Boneyard, formerly called as Krystal.
      • Beautopia - Its appearance is usually a mountainous cave covered by a large durasteel door but in the inside? It's an underground cave city untouched by the toxins as they are located in a deep cave. They are the descendants of the Andresian civilization who survived the Bombardment, led by the Nationalist government from the Andresian Civil War. The mutated surface dwellers didn't know that Beautopia exists, in fact - they are considered nonexistent in the surface world of Andresia.
      • Green Commune - The capital of the Greenkin people. Their settlement is located in the outskirts of the Capital Wasteland, specifically in the Grasslands.
  • Force Nexus (Optional): N/A
    Intent: N/A
    Nexus Name: N/A
  • Nexus Alignment: N/A
  • Size: N/A
  • Strength: N/A
  • Accessibility: N/A
  • Effects: N/A

POPULATION
  • Native Species: None (Pre-Bombardment). Necrohuman [and its feral variants] & Greenkin
  • Immigrated Species: Humans, Rodians, small Sith pureblood enclaves, Hutts and various other species.
  • Population: Sparse
  • Demographics: 56% Necrohumans, 34% Greenkin, 10% Humans
  • Primary Languages: Galactic Basic
  • Culture: Before the Bombardment, all immigrated species considered themselves equals with one another and have their own national identity called "Andresian". After the Bombardment, those who descended from the civilization went to create a city within a cave called Beautopia. The surviving surface dwellers became mutated, creating two offshot species that descended from the Andresians. The Necrohumans and the Greenkin - are constantly at war with one another.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: None. Formerly fragile democracy (Pre-Bombardment) | City-state (Necropolis), Tribal confederacy (Green Commune), Republic (Beautopia)
  • Affiliation: None. Formerly the Hutts (occasionally).
  • Wealth: N/A.
  • Stability: Low. This poisonous, toxic and radiated planet is a living embodiment of chaos, violence, and death. There is currently a never-ending war between the Necrobeings and the Greenkins, fighting for racial supremacy on the planet.
  • Freedom & Oppression: Even though the planet has been destroyed 50 years ago, an outsider can do whatever they want from this planet. Just don't encounter the Necrobeings and the Greenkins.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military: The planet's military assets is currently in sticks and stones except for Beautopia.
  • Technology: Below Galactic Standard, except for Beautopia - Galactic Standard
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Settlers first reached Andresia in 2,679 BBY, departing from Kothlis and Ando, with financial support from the king of Naboo. Mining expeditions set up camps in the vicinity of what would become Marinok City, quickly recognizing and tapping a nearby vein of cortosis. Funds from this initial discovery contributed to continental expansion and quick establishment of several peripheral colonies.

By 1,687 BBY, colonists had depleted most of the surface ore deposits and were seeking alternate investments. With approval from the planet's Potentate, weapons manufacturing plants were established in the major cities. Being far distant from the Core, Andresia had remained independent from the Republic, and as a result they turned to the Hutts for a weapons market. Hutt interest in Andresia's output led to large-scale corruption, beginning with spaceport and customs officials but eventually making its way up to the highest levels of government. Decades later, Andresia became a member-state of the Hutt Cartel for almost two thousand years which remained untouched from the galactic events as it was considered a remote planet.

By 1,100 BBY - after the collapse of Darth Ruin's Sith Empire, a lot of Sith purebloods who are now considered rare at this point were scattered across the galaxy. A group of purebloods flew to Wild Space to avoid persecution by the Galactic Republic. They managed to arrive in Andresia safely and created various familial enclaves of their own. The locals welcomed them as their own and the purebloods are integrated to the Andresian society where they legally entered politics, economy, etc.

Thousands of years later, by the year 805 ABY, government had grown so hopelessly corrupt that there was no chance of peaceful or lawful recovery, and civil war broke out in the summer of that year. Offering enormous payoffs to "loyalists", government leaders significantly increased the size of the government forces in order to forcibly bring the dissenters under government control. Citizens were divided into "Nationalist" and "Rebel" camps; those who tried to remain neutral either had to flee the planet or were quickly swept aside. As part of a campaign to "root out conspirators", the Nationalists ordered the extermination of a number of mid- and low-level bureaucrats. Among these was Narian Zaishwa, who was slated for death along with his entire family. While Narian and his wife were murdered (by their Nationalist eldest son, Silian), the two younger children escaped to join the rebels. Four years later, the youngest child was murdered by a Nationalist soldier.

The only surviving Zaishwa, Yossun, was apprenticed to the Dark Lord of the Sith [REDACTED] six months later. As the first act of his apprenticeship, he led a Massassi attack squad against Nationalists and Rebels alike. The Andresians tried to rally behind a common flag against a common enemy, but Yossun, filled with rage at the world that had destroyed everyone he loved, persuaded [REDACTED] to bombard the planet. Ignoring pleas and offers of surrender, the Sith destroyed all traces of civilization on the surface.

Following the Sith bombardment, Andresia was a ruined and toxic world. The Sith weaponry had released toxins in the soil into the atmosphere, rendering it unbreathable to most sentients except others who became mutated from the toxins. Destruction of offshore mining stations poisoned the oceans. Within two weeks, all life on the world had died, and Andresia was reduced to a disastrous state from which is never recovered, unless it's terraformed using Yuuzhan Vong technology.

Even though the planet never recovered, mutant civilizations emerged on the planet. Their technology is considered bronze age. Using spears and swords. While the one who descended from the Andresian civilization, their technology is still the same as the current one although their presence still shrouded with mystery. (Think of them as the combined Institute/Enclave in Fallout series).

Under Review Yossun Zaishwa Yossun Zaishwa

Thanks for your patience. This is a planet with an interesting story, to be sure! The history section is a great read. I also love the pictures you have chosen; they do a great job of communicating the polluted wasteland aesthetic you're going for. I do have a couple of things I'd like to address before we move on to approval, which I'll list for you below.

  • The Location section, under General Information, needs to be more specific. Per the template, "This can be a screenshot of the hex from the map with a marker, or you can say that it is located "in X planet's hex" and give a general description of positioning." Please pick a hex on the Chaos galaxy map for the planet's location, and a general description of what part of the hex. Or, use an edited screenshot to show Andresia's exact location in the hex.
    • If you want a Wild Space hex near Hutt Space, maybe the Kesh or Seraphentis hexes? Or an empty hex near those?
    • Also in Wild Space, but a little further from Hutt territory, is the V'shar hex.
    • If you're having trouble finding what I'm talking about, use the Search function in the map's pop-out menu on the left.

  • The Native Species section, under Population, should include only species that evolved / developed on the planet. Rodians developed on Rodia, Sith Purebloods developed on Korriban (probably, some debate), and Humans developed on Coruscant (probably, lots of debate), so they should not be listed as species native to Andresia. Please move them to the Immigrated Species section to clarify that difference.
    • You can put "Various Flora and Fauna (Extinct)" under Native Species to represent the native plants and animals that developed on Andresia before it was bombarded, if you want. If the planet was terraformed from a barren rock, and never had any native life, that's fine too. You can briefly write that in the appropriate section instead.
    • Related question: why are there enclaves of Sith Purebloods here? They're pretty rare. I didn't see a reason in the history.

  • Lastly, and this is more a genuine question than a required change: what is the intended purpose of this planet on Chaos? Apart from the Cortosis, there seems to be very little reason to visit this poisoned, ruined world. Do you have stories you intend to tell here, or is this just a background element? We want to see planets that will be useful to multiple writers.
