An Amalgam of Parts (Remnant Dominion of Kad V)

A recon force of vessels, commandeered by Mason and led by the Absolution-class Star Destroyer Herald, exited hyperspace above the world known as Kad V. Actually it exited hyperspace a decent range away from the planet, because intel had gleaned that a direct approach to the planet would cause serious trouble for any ship trying to reach the world. Navigation was something of a tough deal with all of the moon fragments.

"Listen up."

Mason was now broadcasting shipwide and to the neighboring frigates and corvettes that were part of the support craft.

"The Extinguisher-class Crinan Peace was sent to this world in search of the source of an intercepted communication. When it arrived, it sent a single burst transmission of a distress signal, and mentioned the debris field around the world. No transmission has been heard from the craft ever since. We're here to discover why."

He pulled up a schematic of the world and had the sensors crew search the area. From this he was alerted to the presence of the research station, which meant that they had two objectives in this scenario.

"Your objectives are to find the Crinan Peace and search the research base. It may be hostile and isn't answering our attempts to contact it. Assume hostility, but do not kill unless they attempt to kill you. You have your assignments. Get to them."

OBJECTIVES:
Team Science: Explore the research station on alpha fragment B. The scientists, and the facility itself, are hostile. Beware, Dalek beasts may be lurking.
Team Rescue: Move to the planet, investigate the crash site, and search for the survivors, one of whom is Caaithiel Deschart. Beware the Dalek Beasts. They are carnivorous and not easily killed, even by conventional weaponry.

Aboard the shadow strike cipher nine had listened to Mason’s transmission, he a few support broke formation and headed for the research station. The ships moved carefully, and stealthily using the moon fragment to mask their approach. Ciphers nine opened an encrypted to ship with him. “Listen up we hold position in that cluster of fragment about 800 kilometers from the station, from this position we will launch probe droid for advanced recon, using the information from these probes I will then plan our approach and strike or open communications with whoever is on the station, barring being attacked make no aggressive move without my orders.” With that he closed the channel tapped a few buttons on the console to his right and launched his probe droids and with as the other ships did the same.

There he was aboard the imperial ship. Alister had to admit he still wasn’t one for space travel but at least he could tolerate the necessity of it. Maybe that’s what being stranded on the battlefields of Crina would do to a man if given enough time. He was here for one thing and one thing only. To serve Imperial War Effort. There were of course potential for other objectives to turn up by themselves but he had faith that his people would be able to provide them as they came up.

His training had prepared him for this moment, had it not? Having dropped off of the face of the galaxy for a longer time than Alister wanted to admit he had been undergoing ‘training’. He was a good soldier, there were no doubts about that, but he could have been so much more. Some might have called it brainwashing but is it really brainwashing when it’s out of your own free will? Rehabilitation wasn’t the right word either but it sounded… Better. He was after all still the same Alister as before, his initiative and resolve had simply been ‘improved’ somewhat.

Turning to address his squad Alister was donning his Crinan armor still. Granted it felt a bit out of place amongst the armors of stormtroopers that were around them but they were Zeta Squad damnit. The royal family had chosen them and for good reason.

“Alright, we’re approaching Kad V.” Alister walked back and forth in front of his team. “It’s a planet covered in jungle and with a climate that will make a Crinan battlefield look like paradise.” Not that it wasn’t. “Our objectives are clear. We’re going planetside to secure and investigate one of the crash sites for a scouting vessel that the Imperials had sent but never heard back from.”

“Anything we special should know?”

“Nothing that we can’t cover on the way down.”

Maybe not the most professional of answers.

“Got it.”

“Any more questions?”

There was a brief moment of silence.

“Excellent, get yourselves ready. We’re heading out soon enough.”

Serco stood not too far away listening to the mission briefing. It seems another rescue operation in another world. This was getting to be a habit Serco was not very fond of to say the least. Walking up to the man Serco spoke.

"How many souls onboard the ship and do we have a confirmed count on survivors?"

Alva wasn't entirely certain what the importance the world of Kad V had for anything. No idea why the Crinan Peace had been sent out there in the first place, but whatever the case may have been, she at least knew why she was here now. The 181st Wing was fully dedicated to operating for the assignment as escort for the shuttles and transports being directed to the planet below and the research station on one of the moons. Their TIE Seekers, the Remnant's current model of elite starfighters, alongside the TIEs and Crinan Interceptors also being deployed, swept across the local space of the planet wary of the debris fields the sensors of the larger vessels had detected and made them quite of aware of as they had been deploying.

The Crinan Princess found herself wondering what was so important still though, as she guided her TIE Seeker beside an allied shuttle making its way toward one of the objectives. Sure if there was enemy activity it was a priority to respond, but with as little information to work off of as they did. . . .an Absolution class and the pair of Venerable Invasion Carriers, along with a ample number of Merciless and Noble class frigates supporting those, beside it seemed like a bit of Overkill. Whatever the business was with the research station, the planet below and its debris field, and the missing crew and their mission, had to be important.

"This is Captain Calvarona of the 181st. All squadrons reported in Admiral, we're escorting the transports to their destinations. Any known defenses on the station or planet our fighters should be aware of sir?"

Perhaps along with any other facts we may be unaware of here?

"Negative, Captain. We have no intel on the operation here other than it's tried to keep itself secret. Assume they and the station are hostile."

Scans were giving some garbled readings on the station simply because of the fact that it was hidden within a debris field. That and it was protected, it seemed, with particle shielding. That's how they'd first picked it up, by seeing bits and pieces of broken moon breaking up against the shields.

"There is one thing, actually. The station is particle shielded. Getting into it will require breaking that shield down. The Herald will hit the station with its Ion cannons."

Mason gave the nod to the ships captain, who relayed the command to fire on the station to the gunners. Once they had the targets lined up, lances of ion energy races out to the structure and slammed into it a few times, until they noticed that the shields went down. At this point, Mason directed them to cease firing. The station was now vulnerable to their approach, and they could send in soldiers and science teams to investigate the facility. He wanted to know its purpose there.

"The shields on the station are down. Shuttles can begin docking."

Ayumi Pallopides

Heir to the Emperor, Former Senator of Denon
Ayumi had not been this far out, herself and the others she knew... even when she was on Mayferria hadn't been to this section of the galaxy. It was close to Gallos one of the worlds the Silver Jedi had marked as dangerous, that was a plus and she knew tales about it.... but then she had heard tales of the unknown regions and been surprised how remarkably boring they were in the end. Mayferria was the same as anywhere else just had less BS to deal with and that was why when she heard her family was leading the remnant well she had to reappear and welcome him working on projects. She also remembered from the reports the empresses name from Sai Fel. "This will be interesting commander."

Sala'dine

Admiral of the Ghost Fleet
Trooper Ck429 looked on, the Judges the troopers under Sala'dine had been trained and one of the last remnants of the old Sith Empire, one of the last of the Imperium who had formed because the non force users were getting squeezed out or generally ignored in the empire. The fringe wasn't much different more of the same with little need for them to do anything and just let the force users who controlled everything take command. So he was here watching the older woman as she starred out upon the world and standing in the old model stormtrooper armor the soldier tapped his golden marked pauldron. "Commander orders?" Her features softened a little she wasn't a monster she respected at least her men though he knew she would gladly send them into hell while marching alongside them. "Join up with the rest, take the world for the Emperor and Empress." He gave a nod to that. "Understood commander."

Having an aunt who was the empress wasn't the most enjoyable but when she had been asked to come home Sai could hardly refuse. She had actually looked for a way out of it but sitting there now in the red armor with her equipment.... she had to admit it felt pretty good. The last time she had really done anything useful was for the silver jedi but their focus was on helping people and while one fo the better gials it was also being sidetracked by the drama of the rest of the galaxy. She would have to work on that while she was moving off now and popped her neck letting her shoulders roll. "Alright I am ready to begin.

Utena was here with Valkyrie squad and as the group sat in the transport she was taking it all in hearing her older sister on the communications. Her hands going to the black jacket and she zipped up bringing it to her throat while the rest of the squadron around her moved a little. "We're moving in big sis." She said it with a smile running a hand through the short hair for a moment before getting her hat on while she looked with a small flick of her eyes. She wasn't a good fighter, or rifleman, or pilot, or with a blade... so why was she kept on the team.... They didn't want to upset the princesses more then likely and despite everything these uniforms did make one look really hot.

Ikki continued to watch and listen, she had forgone the civility and stood in her gloves and uniform letting the head piece straighten and hold her hair out of her face. She had her hands clasped in front of her while she bowed speaking. "Princess the planet from what I know holds a fair amount but the Empire would have taken a great deal when they were in retreat much like their scorched earth policy on Kalee and Togoria." She kept her head down and was more interested in offering the proper level level of protection as they moved off towards taking and helping the world if it needed it. Worlds from the former Sith empire usually had a great deal of devastation or hatred.

Cipher nine review the data, from the probe droids and spoke again over the comm channel “Alright the station is particle shielded so we couldn't get a completed scan but it from what we did get it looks we are dealing with at least 100 life forms some of them quiet large, unknown weapons, prep you assault shuttles and troops, the Herald will hit the station with its Ion cannon when shield drops we head in full force, Shadow strike out.”

Waahr

Inactive Character
Waahr stood in the back of one of the shuttles landing near the research station, waiting for the ramp to open. The small squad of soldiers sitting on the benches that lined the shuttle's side went between staring at Waahr and whispering among themselves. One soldier had been brave enough to ask the Maour why a 'disgusting drain clog' was associated with the Imperial Troops. Even went as far as to suggest he 'go back under the rock he came from'. Now said soldier sat slumped on the ground in the corner. The others stuck to whispering.

Soon, the shuttle jerked to a stop, landing quite near the facility, and it's ramp lowered. The squad of human soldiers were all to quick to get out of the troopship. Waahr grunted at the pilot before stepping down the ramp himself, raising the slugthrower shotgun that was his only weapon. He hadn't fought anyone, or aynthing, since trying to collect that bounty on Hoth... This would be fun.

A pair shuttles form Cipher nine’s ship landed and ramps lowed Cipher nine calmly proceeded down the ramp in his old Imperial intelligence uniform flanked by a pair of interrogation droids, “I’m agent Renth Imperial intelligence I will commanding this phase of the option, you will move through and secure this facility, as you secure areas you will leave a rear guard before moving to next, You will capture as many of people that run station as possible alive they many have valuable information about the ship and it crew, if find a terminal you either use a data spike on it or notify me and I will dispatch a slicer to you for data retrieval.” He looked at Waahr “Remember we are on the same side, as for rest of you I will not anyone’s personal prejudice to jeopardize this mission, if I find out you in any way put this this mission at risk I will execute you on spot , any questions.” He said cold and no expression on his face at all.

The Admiral's response to her transmission was not encouraging. The TIE Seeker was an impeccable fighter craft, but all the same Alva did not want to find herself or her squadron encountering a hail of flak or turbolaser fire from the facility during their approach. However, it didn't seem like that would be much of a concern itself anymore after she watched the Herald's Ion Cannon fire slam into the research station to bring down its shields, and hopefully any other systems that could prove a threat. Although the Princess did hope the salvo hadn't taken out all systems. No life support would be a massive pain as well.

Albeit most of Alva's concern was reserved for her little sister, who she could hear on her channel as well. The second Princess of Crina made sure to mute the frequency for a moment while she sighed at the reminder that the third princess was present. It wasn't as if anyone could have stopped the girl, not without bearing the brunt of a tirade over being left out. Utena was a lovely girl, and such an adorable little sister. Alva found herself able to get along with her more than their elder sister. Nonetheless Utena did seem to slack much when it came to training, even outside of operations like these a Cosmina Education as a Practitioner and being molded into a potential monarch was supposed to be a big boost to being well versed.

At the very least Valkyrie Squadron was protecting her. Alva felt reasonably secure that the elite all female Crinan unit would keep her little sister safe. They were all skilled pilots and soldiers, an excellent commando unit versed in blaster rifles and the Crinan Energy Blade, and a few were Practitioners if she recalled. Utena would definitely be safe even without properly attending to her own training. Just to be safe though. . . ."Ikki my sweet little servant. I want you to make sure Utena keeps herself out of trouble, since she's my little sister and a princess too I'm sure you'll have fun. . . .and I'm certain we'll both reward you well after the mission is over. Work with yuri. . .I mean Valkyrie Squadron to fulfill the objectives and make sure Utena doesn't get hurt. Consider it babysitting the most lovely of little princesses."

Alva knew Utena was on the channel too and would hear that last bit, it made her grin despite the rather serious nature of the mission. Since the shuttles were beginning to make landfall she spun her TIE Seeker around to make the next run of escort for the second wave of troops. After that she would command the 181st to deploy on the ground as well wherever the objectives most needed them.

As the other shuttles arrived and dropped off troops, and the troop began to form up Cipher nine took a data pad from belt and pressed a few buttons and sent several probe droids ahead to scout in advance of the troops, He turned to the squad commanders, “you have you orders, for the empire, now go.” He said coldly.

OOC: any troopers want to take the squads?

When the ship crashed I took a brief moment to look for survivors, and there were some, but they were secured inside of a bulkhead that would not open no matter what access code I plugged into it. A chilled shiver ran through my body. Despite the warmth of the planet I felt excessively cold. It could have been from blood loss, as I had a rather severe gash on my forehead that was oozing blood at a slower pace now but had issued quite a bit of it forth before. It was difficult to say, but it wasn't a pleasant feeling.

That was when the creatures had come. I could sense them before I saw them. They approached out of the darkness, as it was night when we crashed, slithering their mass of self through openings in the hull. My first attempts at repelling them didn't work. They kept coming no matter what I did. Blasters didn't work on them very well either. Slowed them a little, but they still kept coming. I didn't know what to do so I did the only thing I could do: I apologized to those who were trapped and then I ran. I fled the ship, running as fast as I could away from the beasts. I needed somewhere safe to hide, but who knew where that would be.

Who even knew if help was coming?

Caius Flavian

Faction Admin - The Galactic Republic
Its good to have you back Lt Commander Flavian!” The crew of the Resolute Dreamer had been eager to welcome myself and Ensign Kara Runo back. The Crinan Carrier class had primarily been on picket duty at the various security check points we had begun to develop back in the Luminita system. I made some per functionary speeches and commended the crew for their efforts in keeping the peace. I had been a man of many many hats as of late. It felt good to be in command of a vessel again, if perhaps only for a short while.
After arrival and deployment of our combat void patrol I began to look over the data of the planet. It was a strange world that much was a fact. With only a brief history concerning the research station, not much else. ‘Strange place, atleast it is not as desolate as Kalee presently is…’
I glanced around wondering where my adjutant was but shock my head recalling that she had sworn up and down that she would punch me in the jugular if she didn’t get to at least fly one of the dropships participating in this operation. So in fear not being able to breathe properly I allowed her to return back to the element she loved so dearly.
The Admiral’s order were clear, however I felt wary of approaching Kad V with the rest of the fleet. Still orders were orders. Perhaps after we achieve orbit and unload our ground forces I can take us out of the formation of the fleet and provide a picket line. Well I make that request in a moment. I could see the floating skull representiong the 181st 'Looks like our star pilots are enjoying themselves being out and about again'
I took a sip of caff and enjoyed the show the Herald provided of downing the stations shields. 'Now for that request'

“Signal the Herald with my intent to provide the rear guard after I deploy our ground forces. We’ll take the Stigmata and Rosette as escorts if he approves. Begin broad cast a continual search and rescue message. Communication I want you to remain on the line ready to respond to any SOS until after we have launched the drop ships. Understood?”
"Broadcasting continual SAR message aye!"
The Stigmata and Rosette were two merciless class vessels. Together we would have be able to anchor a defense if any unforeseen travelers or vagabonds happened to drop in system. I took a long sip from my caff mug and pondered the station. Our troops were already in the process of securing it…
Its good to be back in my own element as well

Kara Runo

Callsign "Widow Maker"
“Yes yes yes yes!!!” I sat down in the cockpit of the shuttle and began preflight checks. After spending ages on Kalee in a hazardous environment suit or constantly having to iron and press a service uniform running around and acting as some puffed up secretary, being back inside a flight suit in a cockpit was my true home.
Delta One its been a good minute since I’ve seen you, hell even flown with you! How has been working for someone so involved with high command?” Delta Two my old co-pilot and skyburner was finishing his own pre-flight checks.
“Its been a mix of horrible and great. Often at the same time. Like attending meeting and stuff with tons of talking heads. Plus our stint over on Kalee was hellish”
I hear rumor you may have shagged it up with the boss man” I felt my cheeks flush so I slugged delta two on his helmet
“For your information I did not shag it up with anyone I had a moment of weakness while stuck in a confined place with little to do and maybe too much to drink…”
Fraternizing eh, well your secret is safe with me. I doubt the rumors will die out though considering you took on being his adjutant
“Delta Two stow the chatter please and let’s get these people on the ground.” I hit the comms and spoke with the flight chief “Delta One Two, to Flight Control, we are green to launch”
Copy that Delta One Two, preflight checkouts show green across the board.” I pause as the flight chief relayed to the bridge, “You are clear to launch, happy landings

I flicked on the 1MC and spoke to the cargo “Alright ladies and gentleman prepare for departure”

OOC: Anyone is welcome to start on board this shuttle

Ayumi Pallopides

Ayumi listened to the one speaking... what was his name? She didn't notice checking her equipment and phasing out when he said he'd be commanding this phase of the operation. It was not what she thought about before yawning a little grabbing a MK I bolter while she secured and held the special ammo for it. Not wanting to have to bother with to much danger and work her eyes flicked. "Captain [member="Alva Calvarona"], who is that speaking? His voice is like gravel in grinder and he annoys me. As the emperors cousin I order you to beat him."
