All Aboard! - The SJO Dom of the Ceraluen Hex

Following reconstruction on Kashyyyk after a successful defense against an incursion by the Sith Empire, Jedi and Rangers of the Silver Order take a brief respite to recharge before the next inevitable conflict with their long-time foes. A luxury cruise aboard the Blue Diva, traversing the watery planet of Ceraluen.

Their final destination is the beautiful island city of Aquus, a popular vacation spot for tourists from all across the galaxy.

It’s now evening on the Blue Diva, Aquus about half a day away. Within the morning, the ship will make landfall, and then the real fun begins.

Objectives

Luxury Cruise (Social):

Come aboard the Blue Diva, a large 400m luxury cruise ship with all the amenities you could want: fancy suites, 24/7 buffets, arcades/casinos, indoor pools, etc. This will be a multi-stage event that will start out on the Blue Diva the night before arriving to Aquus. So take the time to get settled in and meet with cohorts before transitioning to to Aquus later in the dominion.

As the transition occurs, a new set of objectives will be posted up, including opportunities for exploration of the city and surrounding islands.

Port Expansion (Business):

Within the past decade, Port Lucia has seen a massive expansion in operations as a major trading hub for the surrounding sector. Activity is close to exceeding current capacity, so the local government is looking to partner up with private interests to build several new spaceports to deal with future overflow.

Assemble at the office of Undersecretary Farr Thabit to submit a construction bid for review.

(Any significant contribution on this objective will net a Major contract or sponsorship from the SJO. Contract/Sponsorship is open to all LS and neutral companies. If you're unsure about your standing with the SJO, then just shoot a PM ahead of time before joining.)

War Games (Fleeting/Piloting):

Following the success of the Black Flag wargaming event between the Antarian Rangers and the planetary defense forces of the Ceraluen Commonwealth, a new round of wargames has been launched as the system joins a fledgling military alliance known as ISAF (Intergalactic Security Assistance Force).

Small scale fleeting (<2km per writer) will occur within a slice of the asteroid belt surrounding the planet, with the objective of defending against the belt gateway from being captured by a simulated enemy for free passage into the system.

While Varindar was out doing the daily collection of the mail, she found out that there was an anonymous package with no identified sender on it, only her name and the hotel's mailing address as the destination. Once again, at the hotel, she was mostly at the front desk and its back office, with her hair a little wrinkly due to her morning swim in the hotel's pool. In fact, in today's morning swim, she made the first real attempt at determing the benefits of the kneeskin she bought while trying out the Yoshinaka Suite with Tanaski. As is the case with all pieces of mail personally addressed to her, she'd rather make sure that no one is watching, so she locked her personal office door to watch the contents of the anonymous package. Said package contained only one item: a datafile. At this point, she began to play the datafile, with a feeling of dread - especially since suppliers usually have return addresses for the customers to return merchandise to, if needed. Once she began to play the datafile, she began to feel as if knives were thrown at her stomach as she kept watching the contents of this datafile.

"Little Jedi nitwit! You may have thwarted the moneylaundering scheme on Trandosha, but we aren't through with you yet!" a Nautolan shadowy figure hissed on the video. "We have assembled all the slaves we collected in this sector since the hotel fell under your hands at some secret location. The choice is yours, Jedi: either you hand over the hotel to us, enter a swimming race held in the main pool of the Violet Spectrum on Ceraluen and wager the hotel on yourself, or we kill the hostages. Should you choose to enter the swimming race, here are the details: it's going to be more grueling than any race you swam while you were still our property, by virtue of it being a 1600m (4x400m) medley in a long course pool, and we will ante the slaves to the last" he continued, with fingers pointed at her at key points.

The Ta'jar Blood Gang. I hoped never again to deal with them, she thought, while cold shivers went down her spine. On the one hand, handing the hotel over to them would mean setting free the slaves, while they are still alive, on the other hand, not handing the hotel over to them would result in three possible outcomes: the slaves die, the hotel is back into their hands or I free the slaves. And yet, they will host the race fair and square, as they had previous races. I have the feeling Elianne is either a hostage or another entrant in that race, if there was a race in the first place, in which case it's possible Elianne would be running the hotel if she wins, and I'm not sure she's a good fit to be running the hotel, she thought, while pondering exactly what ante Elianne would have if she was blackmailed for that purpose and, what are the conditions to be met for the Ta'jars to kill the hostages. In fact, she would think that, was she in the Ta'jars' position, she would hope not to face the prospect of killing the slaves: not good for the crime ring's business. The winner takes all the entrants' antes perhaps, just what was there to win?

"It's risky but I don't have much of a choice! There has been an emergency; I have to do something to prevent the Ta'jars from reclaiming the hotel!" she announced the front-desk staff.

With a heavy heart, she made the decision, and then she transmitted her entry form to the coordinates listed elsewhere in the data file, using the secondary datapad that she used if she feels the need to communicate with entities that would rather not know about her as a Jedi or as an innkeeper, and she then proceeded packing her baggage, containing three sets of dry-land clothes (business formal, business casual and pajamas, with equally many sets of underwear), her training lightsaber, her comlink and a few travel necessities, such as her travel documentation, prior to departing Trandosha flying her Wasp. This time around, she was going around wearing her kneeskin underneath her Jedi robes, and she didn't feel she would need to be fighting onboard that fighter, she had enough of a sour taste of dogfighting based on Kashyyyk and Charros to last her for a while. Ceraluen wasn't that far, and she took care of refueling the craft after the Charros sortie, so she shouldn't run out of fuel to go from Trandosha to Ceraluen. And the blue streaks of hyperspace flashed past her...

Objective: Cruise control socialize and wreck [member="Jyoti Nooran"] at video games

A massive boat just to hang out and do things like play video games, swim, socialize – it was a foreign concept to Charlie. The girl had grown up cut off from a lot of things, but after joining the Silver Jedi she experienced a more enriched life. It was the sort of life she could get used to and Charlie was happy to get used to it. Today was more of a vacation, it was a day to relax and just spend time hanging out. That meant hanging out with Jyoti for a bit. The Master was hard and difficult to please, but Charlie did her best and always learned from the mistakes she made. Vacations were times she looked forward to, but vacations with her Master meant fun and usually an abundance of sweets.

Heading down towards the area where lights flashed, and game sounds echoed, Charlie grew wide eyed as she did her best not to get sensory overload. So many people and games surrounded her, but with Jyoti around it was comfortable. Of course, with her transition from being sheltered 100% of the time to being thrown on whatever front-line Jyoti was fighting on had thrown the Padawan into a loop, but for the most part Charlie assumed she adjusted as well as she could. That made these sorts of gatherings a bit easier to handle. Another fun part about vacations was that she didn’t have to wear her Padawan uniform. With the missions she was given compensation – which meant for the first time in her life she had credits. Those credits were usually quickly spent on clothing, but when she had enough real-world clothing she had begun to save. Today, she was wearing a newer outfit something she had recently gotten on a shopping trip. The simple black t-shit and greyish pants were comfortable enough and in an odd way reminded Charlie of her usual attire from the Order.

Something caught her attention and Charlie grabbed Jyoti’s arm to bring what she saw to the master’s attention as well. “Remember the show you showed me? The one with the robots, missiles and fighting – along with those angsty kids?” Charlie didn’t wait for the woman to answer and began dragging her to the two virtual reality pods set up like the cockpits of the giant mech robots they had seen several times on the holopad. “You can battle each other! Play with me?” A giant grin spread across her face as she stood in front of the pods with Jyoti, she had always wanted to play one of the games associated with the show. Her current gaming system which wasn’t very current couldn’t handle the games – so this would be the closest she would get to playing.

“Please? At least one match?”

With Kei out healing from his numerous wounds from self-inflicted artillery bombardment, HRD pea-knuckle, pin the lightsaber on the Kei, and other refreshing Guardian related pastimes.

One Taiden Keth was at the buffet table. Silver hair, silver eyes, there was probably a weapon on him but it was hard to tell in his white robes. Wearing all white as always, somehow as if the universe conspired to never splash a single drop of food on his clothing. He had arranged a salad for himself, balancing the carbohydrates with the protein from the vegetables carefully like it was an exact science to keep his body in peak condition. His plate looked colorful but sparse. Asking for a triple distilled water with the minerals re-added took some time, so he waited patiently at the buffet while the line moved behind him.

The ocean air was refreshing and uplifting. Even inside you could feel the difference, it was beautiful weather and the windows were open enough to let the air in but deny them a breeze. The Echani wasn’t relaxed, as that wasn’t something Taiden did. He was however at peace with his surroundings as always and feeling jovial. His posture was just slightly tilted backwards to indicate he was in no rush. Someone passed him the water and the silver haired Padawan moved toward a table to sit down, "may I join you?" He asked whoever was there politely. The book clipped to his waist titled, why paint cats, a philosophical perspective, perhaps showed how he planned to spend the trip.

Rules:

Rules: 7’s 4’s Double’s or Triples are a result
Any result pays you back the value of your stake. Ex: One 7 you are even even. Two 6’s is Double. Two 7’s is triple (double and 7), 774 is Quadruple etc.
No matter what else happens: Any 1 is an instant lose, with half going into a side pot. Any 5 is an instant even no matter what else, and double or triple 6’s steals the highest players win for your own.
A lucky Triple 4 or Triple 7 gives you the side pot that builds up from people rolling 1's

Dazzling purple then blue lights and noise, the casino was classy and sound proofed so it didn’t disturb the rest of the trip. A dim neon glow, covering the hustle and bustle of its guests. Comfortable seating, plants and a large fish tank with exotic species ran around the outside. Many of the rangers were relaxing back and unwinding after some hard days on duty. Shebby was one of them, a drink in one hand, three casino dice in the other.

“ANNNNNDDDDDD Red’s a Winner!”
“Jib Jib Jib Jib!!!!!!!” Shebs was rolling high, his three dice coming in at a 7 4 7 had just quadrupled his stake. After the announcement was made above the table in a glowing QUAD WIN, the casino dealer moved out the winning chips to shebs pile. The blue and purple dice players next to him lost and the green came out at even. All the noise drew a crowd to the table, they were enjoying it as all four of the players were betting high, and often. So much so free drinks were handed out to those watching, which only increased those gathering around! The casino knew how to take care of its customers.

Sheb’s Sulustese was a chattering funny sounding language to many and it was in full swing today talking about what he was going to buy with his winnings. Something about not telling the wife(s). He lit his rather large pipe and got serious, puffing away. Wearing a full, grey tailored suit and expensive watch was pretty much all he owned, the rest going into the game or one of his three ex wives, which he’d often be grumbling about.

Wide-eyed. A holodisplay of lights announced the next round was to begin, the table coming alive. The Sullustan let half of his win ride. The players began rolling their dices…. and the result was…

It seemed as of late Tana had been spending a lot of time relaxing at spar like places, first on Atrsia within the royal palace with untold amounts of royal amenities at his finger tips. Then taking an all payed vacation to the Crown Nedula Hotel ran by [member="Varindar Asyt"] herself, going on rather romantic date like trip of the places service and now here going to a massive cruise ship. Come to think of it where was she anyways? he had not really heard any new from the Dathomir woman accompanying the other Silver Jedi members to the planet. He was certain she would have loved to try out the swimming facilitiesn such a high class ship would have on broad, maybe get away from the hotel for a bit, have some fun on her own, no worries in the world.

Perhaps something came up, taking away their attention, a little disappointing, Tanasuki wanting to show off how much his swimming had improved. Maybe [member="Zavii"] would be here, the two spending some more time together see how she was doing after the whole being shot incident at the temple, after all elder sister was not the most fun person to be around. The Padawan current dressed in some red summer time like robes that seemed very nostalgic somehow, standing just behind his master [member="Junko Ike"].

The ship though was a unique site that probably added to it's luxury level, after all aquatic craft was not the most readily valuable transport these days. Even less a huge capital, ship size and purpose to solely be used for entertainment and pleasure. "Well that is just human nature, always out for now and different things, what more can you get then 'floating casino paradise ship... oh I wonder if they have an aquarium".

In fact, if [member="Tanaski Yumi"] hoped to be joining Varindar, he could always watch a podcast of that swimming race that was to be the Great Race of tonight's swim card at the Violet Spectrum's main pool, which the swim card usually containing the odds of the entrants in each race on it. Here, unlike what was in use at the Crown Nebula, fixed-odds betting was used this time around, with better lanes usually meaning better odds. That was in direct contrast with the parimutuel system in use among the entrants. She could always wear business-formal clothes over her kneeskin while she walked through the casino, while changing clothes in Cayman City's spaceport washrooms upon arriving on Ceraluen. Varindar was then greeted by thugs that brought her, alongside the other off-worlders that took part in today's races, to the Violet Spectrum. Seven passengers, the chauffeur and the guard seated next to him. Am I to take that not only they host swimming races to launder money, they also operate limo services for the same aim? she thought, while keeping quiet the motives from the other passengers of the limo, until they arrived at the Violet Spectrum. Once she arrived, then and only then Varindar could recognize her main rival in the pool, Elianne Corvast, prior to being taken to their dressing room before the race:

"Elianne! While it's not a secret that the Ta'jar Blood Gang forced me to wager the hotel on myself, what is it that the Ta'jars made you ante for this race?"

"The family triplex: we are in the early stages of paying for it"

"Looks like the Ta'jars have their own representative in this race, a Nautolan. For this reason it's not you-vs-me anymore, it's the Ta'jar representative vs. everyone else. Remember: we were stars on Trandosha, but here on Ceraluen, we are complete unknowns"

"Then I hope that I will take this planet's swimming scene by storm"

A sleek crescent-class transport descended upon Ceraluen.

Inside the comfortable passenger cabin sat Melanie Yoo, the CEO of Luna Corporation. It wasn’t a terribly long journey from Kiribi, so she had taken the chance to spend her travel time immersed in work. After the recent acquisition of the prestigious Kingdom Group of Seoul, Luna Industries had seen a big boost in business. It hadn’t been easy to persuade Kingdom’s leadership to sell, but they had faced hardships operating in imperial space. But it was an unfortunate situation that had changed for the better.

Instead of keeping Kingdom intact as a subsidiary, Melanie had moved to re-hire the staff members that they wished to keep under the Luna Corp name, and relocate them to Kiribi. Now, not only did they deal in commercial real estate, they had the ability to develop properties before sale or even manage them, if they so wished. With a number of talented designers on board, they were now moving into urban design and development.

It was a big step, but Melanie felt that they were ready to take on a big project.

Coming here to Ceraluen would hopefully be their first successful attempt. In terms of man power and hours, planning and developing a few space ports was something they could handle. Melanie was sure of it. As her transport set down at Port Lucia, she began to gather her things. Dressed in an outfit of black, she slid a printed coat over top to complete her ensemble. Grabbing her tote bag, she loaded it with her datapad and a copy of their bid that was enclosed in a neat folder.

Followed by her assistant, the CEO moved down the ramp and out into the space port.

… And the Silver Jedi just happened to be here. Kaili had thought this trip would have been a glance into the life of the rich and powerful, and for a very brief moment it had until the Jedi and assorted folk began to show up for the ride as well. The ‘innocent’ glance that Allyson had given Kaili at the time had little but solidified that this was far from a coincidence and she wasn’t sure how to feel about it. As much as Kaili might have disliked it, this was now the hand that she had been dealt and as far as beginnings to a soul searching trip together with her significant other went there was undoubtedly worse ways to have them start.

There was always a silver lining.

Drink in hand Kaili and Allyson had spent a great amount of time simply walking around with Kay not leaving her partner’s side for once in a somewhat smothering display of protection. Granted, as the drinks had kept coming there had most likely been just the slightest of shifts in terms of who needed what and how when it came to the support that Kaili was so graciously offering her girlfriend in return for… Whatever happened later.

“I’ll be taking that.” A man spoke and grabbed Kaili’s bottle out of her hand as he passed her in the corridor.

“Wh- wha- ?” Kay stuttered for a second before her eyes set on the plaque reminding any and all that drink was to be limited to specially designated — and if anything, rather obvious — areas of the ship. Such as the bar and restaurants. “But I was drinking that!”

Her head shook as she glanced at the man and then the plaque again, her eyes rolling at the idea that she would be so careless as to get drunk — okay, drunker — to such an extent that she would be unable to take care of herself.

… That came later. Much later.

Her eyes levelled to the sight of neon lights giving away the presence of her worst nightmare.

The bane of friendships.

The scourge of relations.

An arcade.

“Allyson,” She said and stopped dead in her tracks. “We are not going there.”

“You know what will happen if we go there. You know who I become.”

Objective: Destroy Kaili at Video games

Allyson had known about the cruise through the Silver Jedi. She had been making trips to Kashyyyk for their Jedi healing along with some help with physical therapy. There was only so much modern medicine could do for her. Finally feeling like she had regained control of most of her nerves and body, she thought the cruise would be a good excuse to have fun and celebrate. It was something she had grown aware of, almost dying twice does that to you. She needed to appreciate what she had even though most of her time was trying to save it.

As a man passed them and retrieved the bottle from Kaili, Allyson couldn’t help but laugh. She should have warned the girl about the designated areas, but seeing Kay’s reaction to something like this was far too priceless. Hugging the blonde, she gave a kiss on the cheek and continued to laugh. “That was too good, your face was perfect.” Her hand raised and a small comm showed up and flashed, Kaili’s surprised face was now etched into data and Allyson showed her the photo. “See? Perfect.”

The small interaction was interrupted as Kaili stopped. Looking at the room they were about to enter, Allyson smiled. Kaili Talith was the queen of temper and competitiveness, Allyson remembered fondly being thrown into a tree because she almost beat Kaili in a race. Fond memories, right? Shaking her head, Allyson grabbed the blond by the waist and pulled her. “Oh, come on, it’s not going to be that bad. Just relax and have fun okay?”

A grin as she looked back at her lover, “I say this because you know that you can’t beat me. Oh!” Remembering how they were both rather ‘skilled’ with mecha-deru, Allyson gave Kaili a stern look. “No cheating what so ever. If you cheat – you’re sleeping in the tub.”

Looking at her padawan while he was speaking, junko had a grin on her face. "Oh yes, human nature is one thing and padawan I don't know if they will have an aquarium... but a glass bottom so you can see the ocean and the fish itself." She said it while walking and stretched her arms out. "We padawan have a lot of work to do here though. Don't be distracted by the frolicking beings." She raised the eyebrow though with interest until patting him on the shoulder. "YOu'll do well though, find someone to talk with and get to know them. Maybe I'll find someone interesting as well in this case." She was curious about some of the things that might be here.

Poodoo: even with me wearing this kneeskin, it is not a given that I will be able to stay ahead of Elianne in the first 400m or so. However, one thing is for certain: I am not a favorite in sheer performance terms, even though I may well become a crowd favorite, she thought, knowing that, in individual medley races, the stroke order is butterfly, backstroke, breaststoke and freestyle, with backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle being the stroke order for medley relays. Between the remaining five entrants of the race, the list of what the gangsters forced them to ante was pretty disturbing: a construction company, a tanning salon, a regional spaceport on Chalacta, and finally two mansions on Balamak. She could sense that tensions ran high, but the remaining two ladies in the running were the ones running the tanning salon and the regional spaceport respectively. The seven competitors that weren't members of the Gang were now assembled together, next to the row of starting blocks, and were about to make an announcement before the Great Race was set to begin.

"Ladies and gentlebeings, we hereby announce that, should any of us win this race, all the antes we put forward will be returned to their previous owners, and that the slaves the Ta'jar Blood Gang has taken as hostages will be freed from slavery" the seven swimmers announced in unison before taking their positions on the starting blocks.

"Down with the Ta'jar Blood Gang!" a disgruntled group of spectators shouted in the direction of the officials.

"In lane number 1, from Balamak, Delof Kahn! In lane number 2, from Chalacta, Terral Mapa! In lane number 3, from Ceraluen, Cain Dyartes!" the announcer shouted, with about five seconds between each name being called out, as they took their positions.

Tanasuki would indeed keep an eye out for anything related to [member="Varindar Asyt"] as he stood along side his master, both getting some rather interesting looks from the other passengers, not every day you would meet royalty, and though not being one himself, the young boy sure felt like it. His eye turning to the Atrsian princess at her comment, "well I was actually going to recommend it to elder sister honestly I would prefer to be in the arcade right now, but what do you mean getting distracted and meeting new people"? Seemed like an odd thing to do on a vacation, such things more or less, reserved for diplomatic meetings and parties, unless.

"Master when you say find someone interesting are you referring to the female kind"? had the master picked up on his latest interactions with a few of female Padawans? or was this due to turning 18 in the last month and now being at 'that' age. Well either way it was something that did play on his mind a lot, rather had not tpo with 80% of all the Padawan being women, "well I th-". Suddenly a nearby holo screen came to life, some breaking new? projecting a image of a pool somewhere on shore several swimmer on the ledge looking as if they were about to take off... a rather odd thing to have suddenly show up, well that was until the announcement was made, the mention of the hostages and Ta'jar Blood Gang making Tanasuki freeze up for a second. "The Tajar Blood, those are the guys that owned The Crown Nebula Hotel... what are they doing here? wait is that Varindar as one of the swimmer"?

"Yes, they are, and they're the same group that we lost control of and have yet to recapture, or kill." The slender young Zabraki woman growled as she approached the holoscreen from behind Tanasuki and his Master. Much like her fellow Padawan, Zavii had elected not to wear her usual clothes, instead she was clad in a pair of burgundy red skinny-jeans, a pitch-black crop-top with a high v-neck and a plain black choker. Even more unusually, her fingernails had been painted to match her hair and lip-tattoos. If anyone cared to look down they'd see that her toenails had undergone the same treatment, since her feet were- as usual- uncovered.

Stepping up to stand on the dark-haired boy's left, Zavii crossed her arms and looked at the screen intently, her lips pursed together as the very mention of the Tajar Blood Gang left a sour taste in her mouth. "So, who's this Varindar person?" she asked with a momentary glance at Tana, just now realizing how much taller he was than herself. "You know what? I don't actually care; we're supposed to be relaxing, right?"

She then turned to the older woman and asked "Master Ike, do you mind if I steal Tana for the evening? I need someone to hang out with and I still haven't paid him back for that blood he gave me a few weeks ago." Zavii was sure that the Master would understand, and really only asked as a formality. She barely even waited for an answer before looking up at Tanasuki again with a hint of excitement and asking "Do you like dancing? I just found out there's a dance hall a couple of decks down and I really want to check it out!"

CREAK. THUD. CREAK. THUD. Earthquake?

No. The stomp of heavy feet over the top of the cruise ship thudded out, as the half ton Houk, even out of his armor, made his robust 8ft tall presence known.

Actually Vertigo was tiptoeing so not to walk anyone up. Moving through those resting or laying out on the upper deck. He wasn’t having much luck.

“Sorry.”

“Sorry.”

“Mind that. Sorry”

“I’ll pay for that.”

The Houk's deep base voice rumbled out. When he got to the front of the ship, top deck, he picked out a sun recliner. It looked half his size. So as usual he pulled two together, threw his gigantic towel over them both, and slowly dropped his muscled bulk in between them, they creaked and almost gave way but he managed to get horizontal. Mission accomplished. He rammed his hands together in victory, giving a gigantic clap, disturbing or deafening the person next to him.

ssssshhhh a passenger remarked.

Dex grumbled a loud rumble, leaned back to enjoy the sun. And. He’d forgotten the sun block…

Junko said it when she looked at the screen and there was not a lot they could od for her right now. THere was an entire ship of jedi... then someone else approached. A padawan that got a raised eyebrow from Junko. Looking her over as she took in the painted nails, the choker, tattoo's. Junko spoke seeing how quickly she was trying to get Tana to go with her. "I see, Tana if you wish to go. I can find something to keep me company. Just be careful and report in to me if you are going to leave the ship." She said it and stood there in the aurodium and crystal bikini wondering about the zabrak but... she wasn't going to say her first impressions. Zavii seemed like a nice girl maybe.

Outside in the space port, Melanie could immediately see the issues that the local government had detailed. In a word, Port Lucia was… crowded. However, Melanie could already see that this place was quite the trade hub. And more than that, Ceraluen was quite pretty. In the distance, she could see the rippling waters of the ocean.

After a quick look at her chronometer, Melanie glanced over at her assistant. “We’re a bit early, aren’t we?” She asked, brows lofting. “Could you run and grab me a caf? I’ll be right here.”

As her assistant nodded and moved through the crowd, Melanie settled off to the side of the walk. With hand cradling her chin in thought, she squinted at the bustling port. There were improvements that could be made here. Blinking, she silently reminded herself not to make plans before their bid was accepted.

Pulling out her data pad, she opened up a concept art file that had been prepared for today. Kingdom group had a number of skilled artists and architects, staff members that Melanie had been more than happy to bring into the fold at Luna Corporation. Holding her data pad up, she imagined how this concept art would come to life. The abundance of windows would ensure that travelers could enjoy the splendor of Ceraluen, and it would create quite a clean aesthetic.

The thought alone was enough to bring a hopeful smile to her face.

"In lane number four, from Ossus, Zett!" the announcer shouted, while Zett was booed for five seconds by virtue of being the Ta'jars' delegate, with the announcer pursuing, adding five-second pauses between each contestant. "In lane number five, from Trandosha, Varindar Asyt! In lane number six, from Trandosha, Elianne Corvast! In lane number seven, from Bimmisaari, Stel Reyal! In lane number eight, from Uyter, Harli Folen!"

"On your marks!" the referee shouted, after which point the swimmers took up position on the starting blocks, before the beep was sounded, marking the start of the race.

Clearly, to the eyes of the locals, Cain was the favorite of the crowd, while some of the more soft-core exhibitionistic fans were looking at both Varindar and Elianne, and also Terral to a lesser extent. Especially since these kneeskins gave the two ladies an allure that just wasn't the same as the allure a regular one-piece swimsuit, as worn by Terral or Harli, to the extent all of them wore swimming caps. If the race was organized by a fixed-odds bookmaker, or an operator that also operated one such bookmaking joint, the odds are usually better for the swimmers in the inner lanes, so someone betting on Varindar would win less than if they bet on anyone else but Zett. But, as the beep was sounded, Varindar dove into the water, starting the race without making full use of the Force, she knew that the inner lanes were not always hands down the best position to be in, especially the tighter a race was expected to be on paper. And it was clear that Zett was in the lead at the onset, while being neck-and-neck against Elianne; however, by the end of the first lap, it was time for Varindar to use Art of Movement to get the extra impulse from the flip turn to overtake Elianne and catch up to Zett, causing Varindar's heartbeat to accelerate for a few seconds.

Colonel Calderon closed his eyes behind his shades, enjoying every last second he could as he laid out and soaked up the sunlight. With only a pair of swim trunks on, his body was a visible mess of tattoos and scars, telling almost his entire life story just by 'art' and past wounds. However, today Valkren didn't worry about who would be witness to these marks. His men and himself had finally been given some well deserved time-off.

After Kashyyyk and non-stop deployments, he knew they deserved it.

Although Valk' himself wasn't one for time off, he had always been one to follow in his father's Republic footsteps of 'never slow down,' and 'don't let them see your weakness, ever.' Those were lessons he lived by daily, but for once, he figured he deserved to sit by a pool on a luxury ship and sip something fruity.

Even if 'fruity' wasn't exactly his style.

He'd open his eyes only for a moment, adjusting his shades to glance down toward the pool in the middle.

"Sir, would you like a refill?"

His attention was suddenly drawn upward to an attendant, whose figure was being blocked out by the rays of light. He'd adjust his shades once more, before responding and offering up an empty glass.

"If you don't mind, Ma'am."

The attendant scooped up the glass, leaving Valk' to his relaxation once more. His eyes shut once more, hands moving behind his head. Was this what retirement was like? Was this what his father and older brother were always joking about working towards.

Was retirement even an option for the soldier?

It wasn't a thought for today. Today was for a nice buzz and perhaps some gambling with his teammates once he found them.

There was only one more thing that could make this day better.
