Ain't dead yet.

Vulpesen groaned as he laid down in the cargo hold, along with all the others that had filled with him on Coruscant. Above him, a medi was scanning him to find what was causing the sudden sickness that raged throughout his body. "Yep. Acute radiation poisoning. You'll live, but the next month won't be very pleasant, sir."

"Wonderful. Well, at least it ain't killed me yet." Now armed with the knowledge of what had been affecting him, Vulpesen lifted a hand to his chest and drew on the force. Slowly at first, a green light started to rise from his chest and into his palm, empowering him as he started to stand up. Radiation was energy... energy was something he knew how to deal with. "How's everyone doing? First time having a building fall on your heads?" Glancing around the hold of the Vixen, he saw all those that his men had saved. Most of them were younglings, and a few jedi knights that had taken the opportunity to escape when they could. And of course, there were those his boys had fought with inside the archives.

Since that fight, it had been a few hours, and the injured within the ship had since been stabilized. Mereel and Ferrole would need to get proper medical attention as soon as possible, but at least now they weren't at the edge of their lives. Up ahead, Vulpesen could hear the beep of the nav computer, just as his ship dropped out of hyperspace with a small lurch. "Feth... finally."

Alexandra laid in the vixen, eyes closed and body still as her gashes were bandaged up and covered to stop the bleeding, besides that though, she had taken more radiation than originally it would have seen and her body was in a state of throwing up or simply seeming to shut down for a moment or two as she stopped breathing or her heart seemed to jump and go still for a few seconds. Her temperature was running red hot and she seemed to sweat off a lake as she turned from the pain. Sedatives helped her but she was still feeling it deep into her core.

She had seen what had picked her up, who had picked her up back there. The one that had stopped her from getting hit as she was slipping in and out of consciousness in the rushed evacuation. She had been happy but now she knew what she was feeling and she knew it wasn't good. She had broken ribs that were puncturing her sides, the gashes had drained alot of blood and the cut through her side hadn't been a simple flesh wound.

She cursed herself. Finally going back to Veradune, and shes half dead and dying. Of course this is how things ended.

Mereel woke up in a coughing fit as the Vixen reverted to real space. Despite the efforts of the IV tubes plunged into various places across his torso, his chest and stomach felt like they had tried to absorb the kinetic energy of a rocket tram. His right arm hurt like high haran and his left shoulder felt like it was constantly being held against a stove top.

He tried to lay back down in an attempt to fall asleep. He didn't want to think about what had happened, it all felt too terrible to be real. It all had to be part of one long, terrible dream. Why would he want to visit Coruscant Jedi Temple in the first place? The last time he had been there was during the One Sith invasion. He hadn't returned for a nostalgic visit.

Just a dream. He thought, trying to fall asleep to wake up.

Just a dream.. involving a Remnant Jedi Master fighting Sith Lord vortexes. Fierfek, if there's a chance of this being real what happened to her?

Mereel opened his eyes again, sat upright, and began hastily and clumsily ripping painkiller administering tubes out of his body with his good arm. When he pulled one of the arm tubes out he swore he saw a blood vessel burst, but he paid the busted blood vessel and the concerned looking Jedi younglings nearby no mind and kept pulling until no tube remained un-connected.

Perhaps because of the drugs, or perhaps because of his own sense of denial, he didn't know if this place was part of the real world or a dream. In the end it didn't matter. He wouldn't get any sleep, real or dreamed, unless he found out what happened to the Jedi Master he had been with.

This was not the first time nor would it likely be her last to be put into a medical ward for something. This time though, she felt fine. Not poisoned with radiation at all. The others around her, like herself were laying down, strapped to beds or just hanging out.

Jairdain was an empathic person and could feel the various emotions of the others around her. Some were euphoric while others were depressed. One of the early companions from Coruscant sat up, cursing and started pulling out the various tubes and IVs plugged into him. Her own thoughts, movements and body just seemed to float.

She could think clearly, but movement wasn't possible for her. Speech was almost as difficult as that required movement of a sort. When she tried to speak, her words nothing more mutters. Finding it unlikely anybody could understand them, she reached out to the Force. Knowing many of the people here could use the Force, she hoped what she was about to do accomplished something.

What is going on? Why can't I move?

Everyone around her was strangers. Even the one she'd met was brief and right now she found herself weak. Any one of them could end her life, a bolt to the head or a knife to the throat or heart, and there was nothing she could do to stop anyone from that. Teresa laid there with no energy, her limbs limp and wings taking up most the space around her. Of course they'd left her on the floor that was cold. After all she was the only Sith here. Not that she wanted to be tied to such filth. That was how others viewed her so she accepted that. Her vision was red as crimson tears ran over the bridge of her nose and the side of the face, she also bled from the nose. Everywhere hurt too yet she was far to fatigued to move and the thought made the woman feel even more nauseous.

"Water."
She said with a faint weak and dry voice. Teresa did not demand a bed like the others had gotten or even to be hooked up, just to quench the dryness in her throat. Although there was a slight hope someone would see her face laying in a small pool of her own blood. Foot steps cam closer but sounded muffled. Next she could feel her arms been pulled as she was been dragged. Darth Pellax had not been pulled far but she was now on a foam mattress on the floor and had been propped into a recovery position followed by an IV put into the back of her hand.

Mereel got up from the crate-turned-medical-table he had fallen asleep on and kicked his legs a few times to get the blood flowing. He tried to reach out in the force to sense for any familiarity that might have been Master Feanor's presence, but a combination of ineptitude and painkillers meant that he failed to sense her out among the other tired lifeforms on the ship.

He kept trying to sense Feanor in the force until his concentration was interrupted by a feeble nearby voice that only said, "Water."

Mereel looked over to his right to see a bloody-faced woman laying on a floor-mattress connected to an IV infusion pump. If it weren't for the IV, he would have offered the woman his flask, but even drugged up Mereel remembered that mixing tihaar and painkillers was a terrible idea.

Mereel slowly paced around the hold for a second, looking for a water bottle not attached to an owner's hand. He saw a water bottle sitting off in one of the corner's of the Vixen's hold and pulled it to his remaining hand with the force and walked back over and knelt next to the woman's mattress.

He was still upper-armorless, shirtless, and bleeding from various points all over his torso from tearing out his own IV tubes, but he really didn't care about looking presentable at the moment. He held the bottle out in his palm toward her, "Here, take this. Dying is thirsty work."

The last part wasn't a threat, just crass humor, but if he hadn't been drugged up and had sensed what the woman was it likely would have been the former.

Stumbling out of the cargo hold, Vulpesen found his body growing a bit stronger as he drank in the energy caused by his radiation. "Well, that was fun. Let's not do it again." Of course, even as he said the words, the Valde was well aware that he was bound to be in similar situations dozens more times after today. "Send us down Yerles. I'm looking forward to being home." Once he had addressed the pilot, he made his way into the Vixen's medbay where he found Alexandra. Ferole had taken up the medical bed due to his intense injuries, and so the second and third most injured had been given cots from the storage area, those two being the now unpresent [member="Mereel Vaun"] and the barely conscious [member="Alexandra Feanor"]. "Why is it that I'm always saving your life?"

As Mereel aided [member="Darth Pellax"], a firm hand would clap down on his good shoulder, followed by a cheerful voice. "So, the princess is awake! Gotta say, I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone crazy enough to hug someone with a thermal detonator. Even the boss sticks to EMP's." Cheerful as ever, Garlan the grenadier plopped down beside the mando jedi, his body covered in bandages to cover the wounds caused by his own explosions. "Maybe you're not a pansy afterall."

The master was still very unsure of why she was unable to move. She felt no restraints around her, but her body was essentially held still. As Jairdain laid there to ascertain what was wrong, the clear conclusion was she was just too weak to move. Unsure of what had happened, she could still mentally focus.

Her mental questions had been left unanswered, but she felt Alexandra was near to her. If she was near, Daeda would be too. That little wolf could hear her thoughts, but not respond to her personally.

Daeda, want some pets?

If the little creature reacted in anyway, it might be just enough to get Jairdain to move.

It was both a blessing and a curse to be physically blind. While she could see through the Force, so much in here was confusing to her. As somebody came into the hold, her focus went to him. She heard him speak to Alexandra and mentioned this being another save. Smiling lightly, her mood was lifted for no real apparent reason.

Now Jairdain did attempt to sit and failed miserably. Letting out a sigh, she laid on the cot and waited to know if Daeda reacted to her message at all.

Alexandra's hands gripped hard at her clothing as another round of pain shot through her body and she grunted through her teeth, trying to stay awake as she knew sleeping could be dangerous. She also wanted to make sure she passed on something if things got that bad, she wanted to make sure she said something. Her eyes turned on Daeda who was staring at her from her side, smiling at him and relaxing her hand to pet him as tears started to fall. She was in pain, her body tearing itself apart from the radiation and her ribs making it hard to breath after being broken.

The Wolf himself heard Jair and responded with a feeling of urgency, worry wracking the little guy's mind as it watched Alexandra lay there. He put his head into her hand and tried to get Alexandra to focus, even getting Hel to say something to the woman. The two were telling her she can't die, or in Hel's case cursing out the woman for taking her with Alex if she dies like a weakling she is being. Alexandra just smiled at this, knowing the tow wanted her to stay alive for their own reasons but she knew what death felt like, this was very familiar.

And then, she heard a voice, her eyes lazily turning on him and her eyes started to well up even more as she truly cried. They were silent tears, hearing him and she smiled a bit wider and with as much softness as Vulpesen might remember from the old days. Her other hand uncurled now as pain shot through her again. She reached up and placed it on his arm and spoke in an immensely weak voice, barely carrying the words.

"I know Fox Face... I'm Impossible, aren't I...."

Mereel's eyes widened in surprise as an arm landed firmly on his shoulder. At first he thought the man was referring to the woman asking for water when he had said that the princess was awake, but then his stomach sank. Before even turning around to confirm who was talking to him, Mereel recognized the all-too-joyful voice.

Vivid memories of the day before came rushing back into his mind as he looked at Team 3's grenadier. "O... osik."

Internally, Mereel was holding back a sea of profanities and shouting as he finally accepted that this was, in fact, his reality. There was no way his mind would have made up a character so snarky and collected, while also having imagined a dragon-demon being in the same dream or nightmare.

Before he could feel sad at the loss of his arm, or embarrased because of his outburst, he remembered telling a kid to swing a lightsaber blade at his armor. He looked over to a crate in the corner of the room and saw a blue-painted armor bicep plate cut in half. His bicep armor.

He started shouting out a list of obscenities, "Fierfek! Shebs, dikut, hut'uun, chakaar!"

And then he reeled it in as he saw Jedi younglings across the hold staring at him, "Sithspawn dar'buir."

For as long as he could remember, his father had been a degenerate, but he hadn't taken him as the type of man to lie to his own kids. Mereel had been told his armor was true beskar'gam, made of Mandalorian armor, capable of protecting its wearer even against the blades of the Jedi. Apparently his father was both a crook and a liar.

Mereel finally brought his eyes to meet Garland's and extended his right hand for a hand shake, "Hello ner vod, sorry about that. I just found out an ugly family secret and needed to vent is all. Name's Mereel, and if your boss is anything like the rest of you guys, I would love to meet him."

Even though Jairdain and Daeda could never have the same connection he and Alexandra had, she could still feel the emotions of the little wolf. Then she heard her speak...That spurred her into movement. It wasn't much of movement exactly, more a wave of some fingers on her hand and a gripping motion.

Jairdain knew she wasn't dying and she had told Alexandra at one point if it would save her life, she would be pulling on that tail of hers. So she did just that.

"You're in shock woman. You will be fine. Poison, beat up a bit, maybe knocked around a few times. Snap out of it!"

Her tone, even while laying prone on the cot herself was strong, severe and would take no argument. It wasn't often she got like this, but it was needed at times. If her action and words didn't bring Alex out of her funk, the other woman was going to get more from Jairdain.

"Kind of. But some how, some way, here you are." Vulpesen raised a hand over Alex and started to give her the same treatment he had given himself, sucking the irradiation from her body and absorbing it into his own energy. "This is a VSF vessel. You aren't allowed to die." Looking over to [member="Jairdain"], Vulpesen offered her a small nod. "Hello t-" His words caught in his throat and the healing stopped for a moment as the woman simply reached forward and tugged Alex's tail. "Well, that's a way to refocus someone..." His own tail moved to curl around his waist, even as he shifted to remove his coat. Getting blasted by radiation wreaked havoc on one's body temperature.

Garlan's head tilted, observing the curses of [member="Mereel Vaun"] with a lopsided smile. Everyone had their ways of coping with the situation, and for him, it was almost comical to see the revelation on the mandalorian's face. "Well, seems someone has some explaining to do. Corporal Corranthus Garlan, grenadier of the VSF Team one. As for the boss..." Garlan gave a small shrug. "He's not exactly normal, even by our standards. Pretty sure I saw him in the medbay though if you want to thank him for saving your scrawny hide."

Mereel sighed, and bowed his head in a mix of resignation, disappointment, and relief from finally being able to talk to someone who could tell him where someone was on this vessel. Too many feelings were running through his drugged up head right now. He raised his eyes again to meet Corranthus' to thank the man.

Unless he was hallucinating, he just noticed that the man's eyes were glowing. His eyebrows shot up in surprise as he spoke, "Yeah, I think I'll do that now."

He stretched his right arm across his body and summoned his helmet that had been sitting on the floor to his hand. He slipped on his blood-soaked white undershirt and put the helmet on over his head. Even if it wasn't beskar'gam, he had worn and relied on the armor for years on end, it was a second, better skin of sorts. The plates had always protected his body, and the helmet had always concealed his expressions - he needed that privacy here as he got his thoughts together.

Behind his helmet's cracked visor, he looked back to the grenadier as he began wandering off to find the medbay, "If your squad ever needs a liability to drag along on a mission again, let me know."

Mereel stumbled aimlessly down hallways for a bit until he sensed a familiar but faint presence in one of the rooms. He had no doubt it was Master Feanor. He partially let himself into the room and tiredly leaned sideways with a shoulder propped against the medbay's entrance way. As he looked into the medbay room he could have sworn he saw a man with a tail standing over Master Feanor.

"Uhh.. hello there? Would I be right to guess that you're the Captain?"

[member="Vulpesen"] soon told her she wasn't allowed to die and she just looked at him with sad but calm eyes, knowing she wouldn't die that quickly. It hurt but there was no doubt it would take time to kill her, her own powers working to sustain her life as best they could, but even she could not bring repair her body with the force. So she smiled at him sadly, one of her hands coming up to grab his hand and shake her head. "Will you stop already, this body is done for... I can feel the damage even without needing to see it on a screen, there is no repairing it and you will just make yourself sick doing that." She looked at him and then felt her tail get yanked, her eyes going wide for a moment before her eyes looked at Jair.

"As for you [member="Jairdain"], tugging my tail wont help my situation either, and definitely won't save my life. As for snapping out of it, I am completely lucid. My body has already suffered too much internal damage and it will die within the next few days, and by the time we reach Veradune, which I assume is our destination, the damage will be irreversible." She relaxed again and sighed, looking between the two then focusing on Vulps long enough for her eyes to turn down towards the ground and shame welling up.

"Sorry for this Vulpesen, I wish I had been stronger." She didn't mean now, or during the fight on Coruscant. She wished she had been stronger when she had been brought back, when Hel could take control of her. If she had been stronger, then she never would have left and she would still be with him and our children. "I should have been stronger, then none of it would have happened." She wouldn't look up, collapsing in on herself.

Letting go of her grip on Alex's tail, she lightly motioned to her before speaking to Vulpesen. Still not knowing exactly who he was, but having a very strong suspicion on his identity. When they had all been gathered up on Coruscant, she had been too far out of things to notice much of what had been going on.

"Well, I told her if it would save her life, I would tug on it. She thinks she's dying...I guess we all are, but it won't be now."

She shrugged her shoulders slightly and her attention was taken by Mereel when he came into the room. The smell of blood was strong on him and her nose wrinkled at it.

"Nice to know you made it, Mereel. Your master thinks she dying."

Turning her attention back to Vulpesen, she attempted to turn, but gave up on it and laid on her back.

"I am Jairdain Ismet and I thank you for the assistance you have given us. Where are we going?"

Raising a brow as [member="Alexandra Feanor"] placed her hand upon his own, continuing to insist on her impending doom. "So melodramatic, and needy. I mean, seriously you haven't had that body for half a decade and already you need a new one? I hope you know this is gonna cost you." Pulling out from her grip, Vulpesen moved back to rest in a nearby chair. "As for getting stronger, perhaps you shouldn't just sit back and wish. I wanted to protect the galaxy, so I left the safety of home. I wanted to build something worth something so I founded the VSF. I wanted to find my home so I touched the raw power of the force. Stop wishing, Alexandra. Start doing." There was a bit of harshness in his words, possibly some that he himself didn't mean to add. But seeing her again did bring back certain memories, and his usual delightful demeanor could only go so far.

The voice of [member="Jairdain"] caught his attention and he turned to face her. "Vulpesen Torrevaso, Valde of Veradune. We'll be landing on Veradune's surface shortly. Then we'll have medical staff take a look at everyone in here." Turning now to the third person, he fixed [member="Mereel Vaun"] with his golden eyes. "Valde. Think of me more like Commander in Chief, or CEO. And you are?"

[member="Vulpesen"]'s words had distracted her for a moment, completely caught off guard at him saying she would be given another new body, which meant he still had some of the old clones and he still remembered her ritual for soul transfer. IT made her blink and her voice get caught in ther throat for a single second, her eyes softening and her smile growing as she shook her head, muttering a few simple words. "Fox-brained fool..." She sighed and listened to the next set of words, her ear picking up on one sentence in particular which caused her to launch up from where she was laying, about ready to punch him, only for pain to shoot up her spine and force her back down after a few, not so quiet words.

"YOU KARKING BASTARD! I TRI-" was all that came out as she laid back down and breathed with heavy breaths, knowing she had pulled open the wound on her side and her eyes closed to get to work sealing it while she tried to take command of the pain. Her eyes did not hold the same softness anymore as she glared at Vulps when she was done. Speaking with labored breaths, it was obvious she was not happy, tears starting to well up in her eyes for what he had just accused her of. She might have taken it wrong, or maybe it was just a poor choice of words, but she was instantly stricken with anger and sorrow at the same time, her mind trying to shove Hel back down as the woman laughed at what was going on, trying to sink her claws into Alex's mind once more.

"I left, so that Hel didn't take control and kill you or our kids you bastard. And you responded by banishing me and making it so I couldn't come home or contact any of you. Don't you dare level the blame for me not coming back on me, you are the one who wouldn't let me come back while I lived in a literal hole in the ground, two years of being alone, not allowed to see the people I love. Damn you and don't you dare act like I did this for selfish reasons or for some kind of stupid power that I wanted to learn." She turned her head away, unable to stop the tears or hold them back, coughing as her lungs couldn't cope with how much she had just shouted between choked sobs. She was silent now though, with exception to coughing fits as she closed her eyes.

He was such a fool sometimes.

Mereel became slightly unnerved when he noticed that, like Garlan, the eyes of the Valde and Master Feanor were glowing like lanterns. He was now certain that he was hallucinating from the influence of some sort of medication since he hadn't seen Feanor's eyes glowing at any time before now.

Mereel cautiously ambled into the room and addressed the glowing-eye man sitting in a chair as he walked over to Feanor's bedside. "I'm just a typical Jedi Padawan, who now also happens to owe a favor to a few of your men - "

Now that he was closer to her, he could sense Feanor's mental state more clearly. The Jedi Master felt and looked like an emotional mess. He wondered if it was because she was truly dying like Jairdain had so casually mentioned, or if it was perhaps for other reasons related to their current company. "not that I could repay them with anything in my skill set anyway."

As he watched Feanor's coughing fits, he was once again glad that his face was hidden behind his helmet. If he had fought harder, if he hadn't resigned so quickly once the evac transport had arrived, perhaps what he was looking at now could have been avoided.

He pulled the half-empty flask of tihaar from his belt and set it on Feanor's bed before sinking down and resting his back on the floor, "If you're so worried about dying, drink that. Family good luck charm or some osik.."

As she yelled at him, Vulpesen barely even flinched, his gaze only hardening as he gazed down at her. He liked to think he was a compassionate person, perhaps even empathetic. But there were some things in his life, for which he had no room for pity. "All I know is you kept on leaving us. You failed to trust me to keep you or myself safe, despite me showing you at every turn I would do all in my power. Hel was never a danger. Ace watches me as I sleep, so I'm never unguarded, and it wouldn't be the first time I fended off assassins. Even if she had a chance, she wouldn't be so stupid! She'd be killed before she left the palace. I was tired of trying to make the blind see." His voice ended with a growl which built in the back of his throat. Then, as if a switch was flipped, her turned to [member="Mereel Vaun"] with a calm demeanor.

"Be careful. We might just call that favor in. And among my specialties is working out payments." Distracted from his bout with [member="Alexandra Feanor"], he offered a fanged grin, showing the pointed teeth of his race while his tail swished behind him. "As for a jedi padawan... That was a path I once walked. I hope it fares better for you than it did for me. I can only hope the Republic has learned from its mistakes since losing its most loyal dog." Thats what he had been... a dog. Serving its master, hoping for a treat or a pat on the head. He'd fought their wars without question, and sniffed out evil at every turn, just waiting for that prize he craved since childhood... knowledge. But the prize never came. Instead, he had faced scorn and fear, all because he wanted to be the best at stopping the tide of darkness... the tide that had swallowed the Republic when he left.

Hearing what Vulps said to Alexandra and the tone he used, she ended up chewing slightly on the inside of her cheek to keep from smiling. Ill or not, sometimes people needed to have a boot shoved up their rear end. Her own words to Alex followed by his were just that. It did get a reaction from her friend too and she showed signs of more life than just laying there in misery.

When he did answer her as to his identity, Jairdain nodded only. Little bit by little bit she was regaining some strength and attempted to sit up again. If stuff was going on around her, she didn't want to be on her back the entire time.

The exchange continued between the two of them, but it brought to light some of the buried issues that had been burning for a while. She blinked at the last thing Vulps said to Alex though and found the strength to sit up finally.

Pursing her lips, there was no way he knew she was a physically blind and she lifted a hand to point a finger in his direction and make a crooked motion with that finger. Like she had done to Alex a few moments before, she would attempt to make a pull on his tail.

"It's not that difficult to accomplish. Just a little ocular stimulation with this odd little device. Of course there are the options of implants. However, those aren't anything I am interested in. In the past six years, I have been kidnapped, tortured, turned to the Sith and returned to the Jedi...though I am no longer that staunch zealot of the light that I used to be. That comment about teaching the blind to see is just too much for me to say or do something. Maybe it is a weakness of mine, but sight through the Force is much better. Illusions mean nothing to me, sadly this also means I am unable to read, but that is a minor detail.

"Have you been blind your whole life, Valde? There are many ways to view things and what I see right now are two people that have some serious talking to do. I suggest you do that."

His quick change of attitude brought a lifted brow, but Jairdain fell silent and waited to know how he would react to her words on being blind.
