Public Adventures at Tea Time

Kay glanced over to her newest employee as she tried to carry three trays of a variety of baked goods. "A little help here, CH-3F CH-3F , if you please." The droid had come to her looking for work and she was happy to oblige. Not only would he be able to take some of her duties off her hands, but he'd be a companion to her as well, giving her someone to talk to so that she wouldn't be alone.

Since her return from Commenor to her Sphaera Tea Shoppe on Altiria/Annaris, Kay had been trying to sort out what to do about the place and the company. Should she sell it? Move it? Or operate it from abroad? It was difficult to say. Yet soon after her arrival customers began to show up and custom orders from a variety of casinos and the like began to come through. But just how busy culd things get? That was what would determine the future of her company and shoppe.

The products that the Sphaera Tea Shoppe produced weren't exactly your garden variety teas. Yes some were, but others held uncommon side effects such as: healing, superhuman strength, influence, psychadelic highs, death, Force nullification and more. Even some of her baked goods were tainted by both sides of the Force. It didn't come as any surprise that the Underworld and unscrupulous governments made many bulk orders.

Today Kay was having a bit of an open house, as advertized on the holonet. She was dressed in slacks and a nice blouse beneath her apron, with her hair drawn up in a bun. Her mood had lifted since her visit with her son Caedyn Arenais , however her self confidence still wasn't quite there. Both him and her late husband's Force ghost had told her to do some good for the Galaxy and this was the first step that she could think of. No longer was she hiding out. Instead she had fully advertised that the former Queen of Commenor, former head of the Commenor Systems Alliance and former Empress of Zakuul was sharing her addiction of tea with the Galaxy with exclusive deals ready to be snatched up.

Of course there was a bit of an ulterior motive. Sarisa ( Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim ) had come to her shoppe a couple of weeks ago claiming that Kay was in danger by the Eternal Empire because of the rebellious actions of her daughter Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun . Whether or not that was true remained to be seen. Whether or not a soldier or agent of the Eternal Empire would show up to attempt anything remained to be seen.

There was much that could happen on this day. So much so that it was hard to predict in any which way. But it was bound to be busy. At least Kay had CH-3F to help.

The tea shoppe and menu should be located in my sig. Hopefully. I'm on my phone so I don't see sigs at all...lol. Otherwise you can find it in the Marketplace. :)

"Hello, Kay."

A familiar voice and familiar figure would enter the tea shop - that of the woman who had been responsible for helping to erase Kay's trauma through what could effectively be considered nothing more than highly technological brainwashing by some and effective rehabilitative therapy by others. In any case, Vanessa had hoped her techniques had ensured Kay would view her as a friend rather than as an antagonist.

"I'd like a cup of warm tea, please."

In comes CH-3F as he comes towards his new employer Kay, as he asked him to help her with the tray she was holding. CH-3F was finishing to clean the windows so it will be shiny and brand new, with Margaret his personal squeegees. As he approach Kay, he then took the trays from her and asked her "Where do you want these trays to be put Ma'am?". CH-3F enjoys this kind of task where some will consider it tedious or a hassle, but for CH-3F he enjoy anything related with cooking and cleaning, even though he wasn't programmed to when he was made in the CIS Factory. He brought all of his cooking and cleaning utensil which was inside 3 large bags kept at the back, from Dolly his most prized possession rolling pin to Aretha his broom which he likes to bring around with him everywhere. He then follows Kay so he'll know where he needs to put the trays and his next assignment, he then asked her "Do you need me to do help with anything else?" so he can help with other assignments she may need to do first and require assistance.

Truth be told, Mi'la had a secret love for tea. Growing up on Ryloth, her parents had spent hand over Lekku trying to ensure their daughter could satisfy her tea addiction. It was one thing that she struggled with being in the jedi, most of the teas she had grown up with simply weren't the sort you bought. It was places like this that she had to find, or rather made a hobby of it. So, strolling into one of the rather busy looking tea shops, the padawan was hoping to get a nice cup of Commonor Blended Herbal Tea and catch up on her reading for the week.

Taking a seat at an open table, the padawan looked about awkwardly, trying to figure out what to do, before finally looking through the menu to make sure she could get her desired drink. Having found it, she breathed a sigh of relief, and began to look through the journal she had brought with her. To the observant eye, the title of 'Sith Tombs and How to Survive Them' might draw suspicious eyes, though Mi'la didn't care; the more of these places she could find and mark meant fewer people could get ahold of what was inside. She would mind her own business, not even clad in the normal jedi attire, having donned her flight suit and stowing her sabers into the pockets of her suit. She really hoped no one was looking to start a fight, she really wasn't in the mood for it.

"Put them on the counter, CH-3F CH-3F . And we'll need to sort them neatly and put them in the display trays." She chewed the inside of her cheek, helping the little droid out. Keeping herself busy kept her anxiety down. But then again, so did Sapir tea.

Speaking of tea, a familiar voice was heard. Kay looked up and smiled seeing Onrai Onrai . She dusted her hands off on her apron and walked around the counter to greet her. "Come in, come in. It's good to see you again. Now what kind of tea would you like? It's on the house."

She spotted the Twi'lek Mi'la Undari take a seat and look through the menu. No doubt Kay would take her order shortly. Unless of course CH-3F did in her stead. Either way she'd be looked after.

“No no, Kay, I insist on paying.” She said, smiling. “I do have that favor I haven’t yet called in, but why do that now? It’s a time to relax after all.” She looked over the menu. “A nice chai, if you would.” The Triumvir of Power would get herself comfortably seated at the bar, eager to receive her drink.

hopefully a Sith Lord wouldn’t disturb others.

Ah yes; the favour. Kay didn't know exactly when that would be called upon or even what it would entail, but she did owe Onrai Onrai for helping her. As much as she hated being under anyone's boot, this time it wasn't so bad. It wasn't being held over her like some blade waiting to hack her head off. This was different.

"Chai? I should have guessed. Coming right up." As Vanessa settled herself down, Kay made sure not to get in CH-3F CH-3F 's way as she prepared the chai tea. All the while her mind was going through different possibilities as to why Vanessa suddenly dropped by. Of course it could be something so simple as to just simply check up on her.

Kay gathered the cup of steeping tea and placed it down in front of Vanessa. "What brings you here today? Anything that I should know about? I haven't been paying attention to the holonews at all, so don't expect me to have any intel on what's going on elsewhere in the Galaxy."

"Right away ma'am" CH-3F goes straight away to the counter to set the trays. At the counter CH-3F starts to set the trays in a neatly fashion while make sure everything is clean with Roberta his cloths to wipe anything he deems unclean which was on his cleaning utility belt. CH-3F sorts everything neatly and in perfect fashion so it will look nice to look at. With CH-3F droid eyes, he can look everything in crystal clear detail, good for combat and excellent for chores as CH-3F always think of himself that way. A few moments later he finish setting the trays as he hovers at it to see if anything need adjustment. "Right since i'm done with the trays, i'll start preparing the rest of my utensils" Gar'n stretched his robotic arms as he then head backroom to go to to his personal CH-3F equipment. As he arrived there, he goes over to his first bag first, where his cleaning utensils were so he can lay it in an order he will use. "Time for the rest of the ladies to help me" CH-3F said with a smile which can't be seen because his a droid as he takes out his equipment.

"A number of things. The Sith Empire is engaged in a brutal war with the New Imperial Order, a group of schismatics. That, in concert with myself having gotten some apprentices, has been essentially the highlight of my life recently. That, and being elevated to a position within the Triumvirate." She said. "I still have a place for you at Nathema should you ever wish to be able to play a part in the greater game of things now." She responded. Vanessa had considered using the favor Kay owed her to bring her into the organization as a subordinate, but realized that at least right now wasn't the best time to do such. If there was a time she required Kay's help, she would be sure to get it.

In due time.

It was great to have CH-3F CH-3F at the shoppe with her. This way she didn't have to multi-task so much. He could look after the upkeep and smaller tasks while she tended to the guests. And of course when it came to baking in the off hours, it was good to have someone there that didn't need to sleep.

While CH-3F went to the back, Kay kept her focus on Onrai Onrai as she brought her up to speed, so to speak. More wars. Of course there was more wars. The battles over supremacy never stops.

She slowly shook her head at the offhanded offer. "Congratulations on your new position. Though I'm not ready to join anything yet. And I highly doubt that the Sith Empire would be that desperate to want my help in anything. And I'm not that desperate to join them. Especially after everything they've taken from me." The most recent being Veiere. Although she was relieved to discover that they didn't take his spirit along with his life. She got the closure that she needed when his Force Spirit had visited her and their son. Kay was more content now than she had been in the last few years.

Mi'la could see one of the server droids was busy with dishes, and it seemed the other employee here seemed to be caught in conversation with another guest. Frowning a bit, Mi'la dug back into her book, typing up notes for herself in the datapad she had brought along. She had that list of possible dig sites she wanted to check into, not to mention study that weird thing she had hauled off the tomb in Epicanthix. Which made her wonder just how her buddy Sakri Sakri was doing. She hoped the dark woman was doing well, she seemed rather lonesome during their time together, perhaps Mi'la would track her down for another adventure; the prospect of that was rather enlightening. Still, she would await until she was served, already knowing what she was going to order.

Maybe if she was in luck, they'd have a whole case of tea she could buy for her own use, she was sure Sakadi would love that.

"Unfortunate." She said. "Experienced personnel aren't exactly the most common of things, and my usual list of people are a bit minimized right now. Particularly after... recent occurrences." The sting of the betrayal Inanna Harth Inanna Harth had instigated on her still bore heavily on the back of Vanessa's psyche. Though she was still thankful to have Tekkio Tekkio and Kalanda Tishire as her apprentices, such was perhaps ultimately the reason she came out here to relax.

Vanessa took her first sip, letting it take her mind away.

"There are plenty of experienced people out there. More so with even far more experience than I have. I've been out of politics for a while now. You know my record, the same as everyone else. I don't exactly have people lining up at the door wanting my knowledge for anything." She gestured to the cup of tea that Onrai Onrai just sipped from. "They just line up for tea."

Kay glanced over to Mi'la Undari . The lady looked ready to order and with CH-3F CH-3F busy cleaning, that left it up to her. ["Excuse me for a moment. I've got another customer."/color] It was a good little escape more than anything else. Her confidence in herself wasn't what it used to be. Kay liked to think that she was humbled, but it wasn't as rosey as that.

Approaching Mi'la's table, she smiled in greeting. "Hello miss. Are you ready to order? All of our teas and baked goods are fresh and made right here."

Kayûm walked into the little tea shop, a small smile on her face. That smile wasn’t usually there, no, it wasn’t in her line of work. She was a doctor. A doctor, you might contradict, isn’t any reason to not smile. But being a doctor was a cover for her actually being an information broker.

Her data pad was ever present in her bag holding her life’s work- it was tightly pressed to her side, and would not be moved. But the small smile was because she wasn’t on duty today.

Things could sure get interesting around her, but for now at least, Kayûm wasn’t getting in any trouble.

She came into the tea shop and sat down in the far corner- more of a habit than a precaution. She smiled, relaxed for the first time in a while. In truth, there was an interesting blend of tea here that she wanted to try. It used a variant of cat nip in its brew- and she Really REALLY wanted to see what that was about.

CH-3F has now unpacked all of the equipment and put it in order where it will make it easier for CH-3F to pick it up. CH-3F then head on over to check on the food and drink to make sure it's all ready to be served. He starts to check on the tea if it's at the perfect temperature to be drink once it's served, after that he check on the food that has been made before heading over to the storage to check on the ingredients. "Everything seems to be in an good state" CH-3F said to himself, then he peeks to the main area where NPC Treasury NPC Treasury and the customers are, as he saw Kayûm Kratha Kayûm Kratha just entered the shop and seems to be in need of someone to take her order. CH-3F starts to walk outside the backroom and heads on over to Kayum, who's seated at the far corner of the room. He then arrive next to her table, "Greeting valued customer, my name is CH-3F and i shall take your order for today", he added "Here is the menu, go ahead and look over it". CH-3F handed over the menu to her "We have plent of choices for you to order, we guarantee it's freshly made everyday", he then added "Shall i bring a refreshment while you take a look at our menu?".

Kayûm was both amused and interesting when an old type 1 battle droid came over and asked for her order.

Huh- Funny.

“No thank you- I’ll just have this tea please,” Kayûm pointed time the one with catnip with a small evil glint in her eye. There was a small variety of things that would make this kitty high- catnip was one of them.

If she wanted to look crazy- she would 100% cackle evilly, but she thought she should get the tea before doing that.

The door opens with a hydraulic hiss as yet another customer enters the shop. However, This was no ordinary customer. Standing in the doorway was womanly figure of unremarkable height and build, Clad in a light Beskar'gam that had once been painted a fine scarlet that seemed to have already faded, And vibrant orange accents. Most of her armour was obscured by the cloak she wore, As were any weapons she may carry aside from the odd pronged staff she seemed to be using like a walking stick.
The figure's loose rocket-boots make a distinct
jingle with each step as she calmly approaches the counter, Taking a moment to look over the menu before speaking.

"I uhm... I'll take a cup of Cassius Tea to start, If you please."
It was subtle, But she sounded oddly nervous for a mandalorian, Seemingly aware that she was quite out of place and that would no doubt draw attention. But if the woman was right, Than it'd be worth it. For one, She would get to relax now that she had completed her business within the Zweihander union, And perhaps taste a specific flavor of tea that hadn't graced her tongue in many years now. For two: If what she'd heard was true, than this was in fact "Lady Kay", The queen of commonor and a relation of the Infamous Yasha Cadera, The Mand'alor her clan had slaughtered one another over. Which meant that finally, She may get the answers she sought. In due time of course.

With this in mind, She sets a number of credits on the table and waits for her tea, Looking over her shoulder at the other customers who were no doubt staring right back at her, And then back to the lady Kay.

"Is it true? That you are the Lady Kay Arenais...? Queen of commonor?"

Talon walked towards the tea shop, he had been here once before, and while not remembering much of the tea he did remember how it was nice and warm. Turning to his ship he watched as the hatch closed giving a nod as he felt content with how it was. Walking closer to the shop he was curious what he would get, he had gotten a menu so he could look over, but decided to go with dealers choice. Grinning he continued at the door, walking in.

Inside he looked at many of the people, he planned on just stopping for a reststop, and he had heard great reviews of the place and decided to swing by. While the tea wasn't like the liquor he was used to. Stepping up to the counter he said, "Dealer's choice, give me something calming." Turning away he looked over the patrons again, trying to spot some familiar faces but didn't really see any.

He sat down at a table, quietly waiting for his tea, and when it arrived he sat with it. Watching the door open, he spotted the Mandalorian figure who walked in. Laughing to himself, he gave a wave, laughing. When the tea arrived, he continued shaking the server giving him a weird look as he waved them away.

Sighing, he hadn't known if she had noticed him, and if she wanted to come over, she could. Looking at his tea he quietly sat there for a moment before moving it towards him.

Karlie Lynn Destat

Conspiracy Theorist and Investigator (IBI)
All throughout the crossing, Karlie was pessimistic of actually finding this Kay Arenais, despite the holonet feeds, or rather, the blatant advertisement of an owned tea shop?
Was this the same Kay that had ties with the Amalgam ...and she with her mother Karla?
It just couldn't be. it couldn't be that easy for her or anyone to find any of the Amalgam's associates as simple as that.

Karlie drummed her fingers on the console arm of her chair, going over all of the events which ultimately lead her to follow this trail. She were so much immersed in thoughts that Karlie had not retracted the pilot seat from the nose of her craft, even after she slipped into hyperspace. The dura-glass surrounding her open-like cockpit of the LCX-L3 had darkened, almost become opaque to cut down on the millions of star lights fusing into one enveloping tunnel. Still the effect or sense of forward motion was there.

Her ship was fast, streaking through the hyper-lanes at 0.3
Still, the jump were calculated at 3.25hrs and she still remained there in her chair. Much was on her mind.

Karlie had never met this woman Kay, not personally anyway. Although she had acquired much data on the woman. Said records showed she were Commoner's queen once, which had been the center of a prominent faction. Then Kay's empire started to crumble bit by bit around her... the Amber incident...the sith invasions and her ousting from Commenor. More tragedy followed her and so on and so on, including her connection with the Amalgam.
But Karlie could read between the lines. The sith, Commenor's enemies had been behind her fall.
Yet...
Yet how could such a prominent woman come to befriend such vial creatures such as the Amalgam and by proxy, her mother Darth Rigor?
So much death and destruction befell from the Wrath of the Amalgam and her mother...so, so much suffering across many systems, including her own beloved Castagne.

Karlie personally had no reason to hate this Kay. The woman had never directly engaged in any malice toward her, her system, nor Karlie's allies. One couldn't be judged by the people one associated with. Karlie herself were in alliances with questionable people.
But this Kay had been close to the Amalgam and the Amalgam close to her mother.
There were questions in Karlie's mind she needed answers to. Perhaps this Kay could provide her with some...

Emergence to system Altiria/Annaris in T minus 3minutes... Her ship's AI jarred her out of thoughts.

"Hope you know what you're doing Karlie..." she questioned herself, as she descended down to the surface.

Seeing the woman approach her, Mi'la set aside her reading material, putting on a smile as her server drew near. She seemed an older woman, radiating a positive energy to her, perhaps befitting that she worked in a tea store; seemed to compliment her quite a bit. Being asked what it was she wanted, Mi'la was quick to state her desire; though the knowledge of baked goods gave her other ideas. "I'll take one Commonor Blended Herbal Tea if you have it, and a breakfast cookie, again if you have it." She chimed, her Lekku's flexing in a bit of excitement. "Thank you!" If there were no other issues, Mi'la would let the woman return to work, seeing how crowded the store was quickly becoming. Though the addition of Mandalorians drew her attention, concern crossing the jedi's features as she felt something was amiss.

She was going to be less than pleased if a bunch of Mandos tried to shoot up the place, but she wasn't entirely sure what was about to happen. After all, trying to understand the motivations of Mandalorians was easier said than done. Her hand rested on the hilt of her lightsaber, as she waited for her drink to come. She didn't think she would need it, but it made her feel better, you know, just in case they really were here to shoot things up.
