Mood:
Liana Organa
was not wrong. Such situations could cause an international incident. One hopes it would not. Then again, as the Supreme Commander
Marlon Sularen
seemed intent on ignoring her and focusing instead on
Aurelian Veruna
, Sibylla's lips couldn't help but purse further.
Really, was he trying to court Aurelian with the amount of flattery he was giving? Maybe, just like Tona, it wasn't the women Sibylla should be concerned about, trying to fawn and get Aurelian's attention or hand in marriage.
It was the men!
A stir of ridiculous annoyance and maybe just the tiniest flash of irritation at how quick Aurelian was to accept the fawning slipped through Sibylla. She decided instead to focus on the conversation at hand with
Dominique Vexx
and on how her congratulations were accepted. Indeed, Sibylla was pleased that Lady
Corazona von Ascania
seemed to truly enjoy her gift. It made the time spent on knitting and weaving the lace worthwhile. It may have been one of the many different ladylike skills Naboo's nobility enjoyed cultivating, and by far it was one that Sibylla had enjoyed learning. And while her embroidery was average and her jewelry-making passable, she still enjoyed the piano the most.
At least in this instance, the delicate lace's knitting and weaving were very much appreciated.
"Good to see you again, your majesty," Adelle said, keenly aware that this was not a private yacht party. Titles and protocol held sway until someone said otherwise. "Yes, he very nearly surprised me at the axe-throwing contest before volunteering himself to be my competition and guide throughout the festival. I've done the best I can, but Phantom hasn't won any further titles from him."
A chuckle and a half smile slipped from Sibylla's lips at hearing that from Adelle, giving her brows a slight perk as she cast her hazel eyes from the Corellian to Aurelian. There was no denying the subtle lance of joy and pleasure that they were interacting with one another. Aurelian may object all he wanted, but he needed more friends. Allies. People he could trust outside of Tona and herself with different perspectives that would tell him plainly how things were without the pretense of noble airs or because they were out to get something from him.
If she knew anything, Adelle would be good for the Interim Chancellor. Provide the candor he needed to meet with his brazen, dank farrik, and match him in sass, she mused, even as she knelt to give Phantom a gentle pat and stroke in hello.
Of course, all her amusement faded even as her attempts at striking a victory with archery came to an utter ruin. Only one arrow managed to land while the other two utterly failed -- the line snapping right after the last just as she heard Aurelian practically radiate in delight in response to Sularen's compliments.
Sibylla could not roll her eyes hard enough, giving a wince as the snapping line smarted her fingers, causing her to shake her hand a the pain, a nasty red welt there.
"Blast!" she cursed lightly under her breath.
Figures.
It only grew worse as she heard Aurelian feed into using the Supreme title.
Oh Shiraya no. Now she will hear of that for the next month for sure with animated smugness.
Thankfully, Sibylla decided to hand off the broken bow to follow up with recognition of Dominique's gift.
"I can vouch that Denon has fantastic style and attire that will not only be comfortable but a delight to wear."
