A Place In Nature

It had been a good amount of time since Jairdain had held any form of class for the Jedi and their allies. So she set word out about her class. She hoped to help empower more Jedi with the ability to become what many people call a Shadow.

Knowing it would take time to bring this aspect of the Force into general usage, she was going to start with two simple skills. If these students wanted further knowledge, she would continue lessons after. For now though, she would begin with how to keep your presence in the Force hidden.

Often called Art of the Small there was an additional skill that did the same thing known as Quey'tek Meditation. The manner in which she learned these skills wasn't very pleasant, so Jairdain would find an alternate method of teaching them.

She travelled to the kennels where Akk dogs were kept. These creatures had been common companion animals to the Jedi for a very long time. The ones the Jedi possessed were domesticated and would not attack unless ordered to do so. They would be perfect for what Jairdain wanted to accomplish. Being able to sense the Force presence of a person or not, they would be attracted to these students until they learned how to keep their abilities hidden.

Picking a setting that was outside, she made sure the weather was clear and now waited to see just who would show up...

The music was playing from the corellian digital companion box. Small and compact with a strap on her arm and ear buds she could have hidden as she moved on the heely's going around. Miniture repulsors were in them, sections where they wanted to go as the jedi had left her seeker class and went down towards one of the classes. A chance to really work on and develop some of her skills where she wanted to. "Interesting." She said it to herself but was moving as her robes gleamed with a the silver and white of them before she stopped and looked forward. Stopping with a grin on her face when she saw whoever this was she didn't actually know any names.

After having taught so many items to [member="Jairdain"], it was time to go learn something from Jair for a change, and for all her skill at a number of other stuff, she knows that concealing her presence in the Force is another thing she feels would be beneficial to the extent that she feels she is a glaring target for an enemy. Although Art of the Small is a thing I typically use for medical purposes, maybe learning Quey'tek is a good thing, she thought, while realizing that, for all that she did, in fact, know about the Force, and how to use it, another person that was there, [member="Elizabeth"], would be someone else to learn it with. Plus those akk dogs are going to be similar to Sithspawn with respect to their ability to sense FUs. Now, with an actual Sithspawn she could always use Force-light, but now that she could no longer become phosphorescent, despite all their uses she knew, she would probably shine millions and millions of lumens in a burst, rather than to shine half a million lumens for hours in a phosphorescent manner, with the recurrent outlays in Force-energy that she knew were the cost of phosphorescence, as she used to.

Sitting in a meditation position in the grass, Jaräel tried to concentrate. Her mind slowly drifting away from her body in to the sky, roaming among the stars, traveling through the space and time, seeing things, but not with her eye, but with her mind. For the mind was the ultimate eye to see things in this life, and the other one, although it was still hard for her to do it so. For whenever she closed her eyes to meditate, the Arkanian could hear the endless screams of a hundred different worlds.

Her missing eye, the true eye of the mind, could see the Knights of Ren burning homes, could see the Sith Lords invading cities and howling their unholy rituals, thousands of battle droids lead to war, but also showed light.

Cities in peace, markets and farms in the Silver Jedi worlds. Order coming back to the CSI planets, the sound of kids laughing and playing through the woods of Kashyyyk, this was a strange galaxy. One that in her heart, she could feel it turning slowly to the shadows, that terrified her heart and soul, for what could stand against such endless darkness? Slowly she opened her eye, her blue sharp eye, watching as the sun was so lovely in the sky. Calm and confident, Jaräel got up and started walking.
"From light comes darkness, and from darkness comes light."

Sukai had been practicing the art of small for a while not, though not an proficient at it yet she as beyond the basics and was able to practice by herself most of the time. Still it was always worth attending classes by [member="Jairdain"] along the secondary part of the lesson on Quey'tek Meditation, a skill that greatly interested her. There being quite a many applications to use such an ability would come in handy, herself entering into the lesson room a few moments later viewing those present.

[member="Elizabeth Skywalker"] and [member="Jarael Belaerys"] where both people she was not totally familiar with, each being around for a decent amount of time, though neither one having interaction with herself. [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] on the other hand was a very well known person, though Sukai was a little confused why the Jedi master was here? Were they interested in learning the Quey'tek Meditation? Possibly, it was common knowledge that Jess was a master in the art of small, either that or she was here to help with the lessons in some way, Jair did like her practical demonstrations after all.

Walking towards the group she gave a small bow, standing next to the Jess as Jair began the lesson.

And so it was with his work at the hangar all but done for the day that Ronin found himself walking the halls of the Temple. Whereas he did so a posting on one the board caught his attention ... one which he pauses to take moment read. And soon enought after reading it that he headed off towards the intended location for the class for what he figured to be something he could do well brush up on. As if nothing else thought he knew a bit of the basic of it having learned some it in the past within the company of his former Master. She who had initially took him in and for the most part had seemed to serve him well in some capacity thought he might not have known it so back then. During his time away from the Temple and before his initial return with the aid of Master Coci.

At which time pick up the pace he then came to find himself in the middle of a decent size field where. From what at best he could see were a fair number of individual already seem been present. As he then with a side glance and private nod of acknowledgment to her Ronin then took his place to one side. As he glances around and noted to recognize some the other present while not other.....he then passingly whisper.

"Well guess this should be interesting..."

Drawn, she was...

Down from the highest tops of the trees, where she'd wandered... held aloft upon wings of the Force, as her spirit soared. Her body, silent and peaceful, eventually stirred as something pulled her back.

Rising from the sitting position she'd held for nearly three hours, Drystan catfooted across the bare floor of the simple quarters she'd chosen. She dressed in cream-colored linens with a wide leather belt and simple shoes. Her lightsaber, a compact & curved design, was secured in a custom thigh-harness on her left thigh (which then, conveniently, concealed easily beneath the folds of a worn grey cloak.) So dressed, and with her hair drawn back in a ponytail, Drystan found the group of fellow Jedi, ready to learn.

When the tamed Akk Dogs started to get a little restless, she decided it was time to start her class. The arrival of several people, including Master Jessica and her brother Ronin brought a smile to her face. She also greeted her other students with a smile and stood up from her meditation. If they were to feel for her with the Force, they would find nothing.

That was the key to Quey-Tek Meditation. Also known as Force Stealth.

"Thank you all for coming. For those of you that don't me, I am Jairdain. Today's class is going to be about learning two skills. These Akk Dogs are going to be your hounds. Please go meet and pet them for they will be your companions for the training today. They are tamed so you don't have to worry about them attacking you."

As she spoke, she went over to the animals and started petting one absently.

"This girl is Myrel. As you pick your companion for the day, I will tell you their names."

Allowing them to pick which they were most comfortable with, Jairdain formulated what she was going to say to begin with.

"The two skills are very similar to each other, but not entirely the same. With Art of the Small, you shrink your Force presence down to something like a pea so it can't felt or picked up. Quey-Tek Meditation on the other hand masks your ability and alignment. Do any of you have questions about either skill yet?"

[member="Ronin Wendigo"] [member="Sky'ito Yumi"] [member="Jarael Belaerys"] [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] [member="Elizabeth Skywalker"] [member="Drystan_Marakos"]

Drystan knelt, and locked eyes with one of the dogs. The animal was drawn to her immediately, and the Jedi knight found herself immediately smitten. As she listened to Master Jairdain, she pet the animal.

Drystan possessed some natural skill with the abilities in question, but had happened upon them in a very different way...

"Master?" She spoke, asking her question. [member="Jairdain"]

"When I was a little girl, I learned to find safety in dark places... Used them to hide, to disappear from the world, to conceal my inner self. I learned to hide myself in a thick, black swirling fog... Through-which I can see, but others cannot. On this cloak of fog, I can project colors or shapes, like a hologram - shrouding even the smallest shard of my own spirit. Are these abilities similar?"

"With Art of the Small you can even act on objects on a molecular level. For this reason I use it for a variety of purposes, including but not limited to the medical. I can even use it to turn phosphorescent, but that's another topic for another day" she told the rest of the people in the enclosure, while petting one of the akk dogs.

Although if I did use it to become phosphorescent, I would need to conceal my presence in the Force first, she thought, while she was, in fact, reducing her Force-presence down to a pea, so [member="Jairdain"] (that she couldn't detect in the Force) and the others would find Jessica's Force-signature fading to nil. And no longer find anything about her in the Force if they made an attempt to this effect. She kept an eye on [member="Elizabeth Skywalker"] or [member="Jarael Belaerys"], and even the newcomer, [member="Drystan_Marakos"] that just arrived. Also, she did recognize the presence of [member="Ronin Wendigo"], but [member="Sky'ito Yumi"], on the other hand, knew about how Jessica could turn phosphorescent with but an infusion of light-sided energy applied on a part of her body. Now, Myrel would likely take some measures if someone is taking stupid actions with the akk dogs. But Quey'tek meditation sounded simpler to her since it didn't seem to require any kind of chemical knowledge to perform, unlike Art of the Small, where she feels chemical knowledge is necessary to unlock the full possibilities of the power, especially as it pertains to stereochemistry. Knowledge she couldn't assume a Jedi possessed until proven otherwise.

Sukai sat in a polite manner as [member="Jairdain"] explained the upcoming lesson, the aspect of using art of small to shrink ones force signature until it is undetectable, being something interesting, Yes there were many other skills that could cover up or hind ones connection to the force, but making it so small it could not be detected, that was something new, well at least to her. It seemed the new arrival presented herself with a similar type of skill though it seemed like her method was more asking to force stealth then art of small, but needless to say a decent starting point for learning the new skill.

[member="Jessica Med-Beq"] went on about her use for medical and other procedures, truly the art of small was a quite the universal skill, she wondered about it's application in combat, maybe slowly changing the materials of an enemy's saber and get it to shut off mid combat. Such would probably take a while to master, and was always a skill she could practice in her spar time, but the meditation training was something new and her priority at the moment. She was quite interested in the practical lessons that she had in hand though had one question. "Does the meditation hide your force sensitivity like you were a non-force user or is it more related to force stealth were you just mask your alignment"? "Also are you able to project a false alignment? like make yourself like a fake dark side users"?

[member="Drystan_Marakos"]

She listened, she knew the meditation at least of it.... she also knew the history and how it was primarily used by darksiders which had the jedi crossing her arms but remaining quiet. THe children of the jedi were strict about such things, understand but do not use, conceal don't feel and all of that. Her eyes looking at the others who were talking and the teenager listened to them. To get a feel for the types of jedi they were... kind of mostly it seemed a very odd grouping with no common ground aside from the force and being in the silver jedi. One seemed to observe all of them and others seemed only interested in the lesson so she moved. Looking at the akk dogs and speaking finally as she crouched down to see it. "You know we have creatures like you on the island, they were left there from a vong ship and they hunt us if we stray to far from the village."

It was then with the odd grouping of individuals wherein for the most part he knew most except for but only a couple of whom. At any rate glance about he could help but give a slight silent nod and smile at his li' sis. Then turn his attention to Jessica whom he met prior during his return and then to Jarael whom. He not too long ago had taken up to train ...at which time with the question soon posted by Jaridain and the introduction of the Akk dogs in the mix that could help but did his best keep calm knowing all too well old memories that had not too long ago recover still linger. At the very least not yet fully understood as to the extent of control he had of it that he dare not wish cause anyone present any harm. As such keeping to the background, he listens and watched as Jardain post her question to the group before one by one they answered.

Thought all the while listen to their answer that his gaze turns towards one the Akk hounds in particular. As in the back his mind, he senses its gaze turn towards him as it then lifted its head give the air a few sniffs. Before slowly moving towards his direction...

At which case take his cue from this he then began to commit to the exercise at hand. As he pulls to mask his presence in the force and appear as if be no different from a stranger in the crowd. A trick it seems he was taught long ago by one his first master and only recently have he'd been reminded.

Quite a bit of time had been spent on Ragoon VI, training Aren. However, Lan-Dai felt the time had come for them to take on a wider spectrum if she was to receive proper training. Having reached out to the Force, the Emerallian sought out a gathering place of Jedi without specifically knowing where he was landing of which faction he would encounter, all he had known was that they had since scattered during the long years spent in solitary training on Iktotch.

Not long ago had they landed on Kashyyyk, not far from where such a strong presence with the Force resonated. While Aren had been left to seek out where she would best refine the skills she had learned, Lan-Dai pressed onward as he suddenly felt a specific decrease in the abundant presence in the Force.

Almost as if in alarm, Lan-Dai paused, slowed his breath, and concentrated on masking his own Force signature as he drew closer towards a well-kept garden. There he saw a group of people alongside some Akk dogs. While he somehow felt a sense of kinship in this place, lessons of the past had taught him that not all was as seemed. Watching from a safe distance, the Emerallian kept his hood on, his cloak in front of him concealing his weapons and armor. Using what he perceived the same technique, Lan-Dai resolved to keep a safe distance as he watched the meeting unfold, not looking to interrupt.

Knowing that he was still technically an outsider, it was thought best to keep from public view until an invitation was extended.

As she pet Myrel, she listened to the comments and questions around her. Looking in the direction of Drystan, it would be clear to those that hadn't met her before that Jairdain was blind. Her focus though was felt and she considered the question and how to answer it before speaking.

"Since illusion is lost on me, I would say they are tied together by you. By learning on your own the ability to hide, you also incorporated the illusionary aspect yourself. It's not something that goes with these skills normally. So there's a good chance you could hone your ability to cause illusions and use it separately from either Art of the Small or Quey-Tek Meditation.

It is quite possible you already know these skills and have learned them naturally in your own manner."

More questions happened along with Jessica explaining how else she used Art of the Small. If any of these students wanted to learn additional skills from Jessica, they could speak to her about them after class. Listening to what Sky'ito asked she shook her head.

"There are various and different used for Quey'Tek. The most prevalent though is masking your ability to use the Force, however it also blocks out emotions at the same time. In my opinion, stealth has a larger use, but Quey'Tek is much more skill based. It needs a stronger focus to accomplish fully. Probably why it includes meditation in the name. To answer the other question though, there are other skills to use to project a false alignment, however, they aren't part of the lesson today. Perhaps something to be considered for another training class."

Humor was an important part of teaching and she allowed a small portion of it to show as she spoke.

It was nice to know Ronin and Elizabeth had picked up their Akk Dogs for the day. Pointing to the one with Elizabeth, she provided his name and then one for her brother's.

"The one by you is Zorobos and Ronin yours is Sriala."

Walking along the present students, Jairdain sense they were being watched by an outside party. She might have been physically blind, but she saw with the use of the Force naturally. Looking in the direction of Lan-Dai, she felt he did not mean any harm and motioned for him to join them.

"Welcome, I am Jairdain. Please join us."

Blocking out emotions... pretty straightforward for me because there aren't a whole lot of emotions for me to block out. That's why I was described as a Force-using droid, Jessica thought, while turning off Art of the Small, realizing that the way [member="Jairdain"] described Quey'tek meditation. It requires a lot of focus (and also computational power for some reason), which meant that its usefulness is more limited. Just that her Force-signature is dissolving, at a rather steady pace, so that even Myrel, much less the other attendees, would feel Jessica's Force-signature fading, almost as if she was entering a ysalamir field at a slow walk. And, of course, since Jessica typically doesn't feel emotions, blocking out emotions was very easy to her. [member="Lan-Dai Navras"] would probably realize as much, much as [member="Ronin Wendigo"], [member="Elizabeth Skywalker"], [member="Sky'ito Yumi"], or even [member="Drystan_Marakos"] or [member="Jarael Belaerys"]. But while she knew about false light-side auras, sometimes used by Sith, she would probably be too pure a lightsider to produce a false dark-side aura if such a thing even existed.

As he watched, something became apparent about the way Jairdain moved among the rest. It was not so much the movements, but of the comprehension beyond the movements themselves, as if she had sight beyond sight.

Somehow, she had also managed to see or sense him without actually doing so, it was something faint in her body language that gave it away. However, an invitation was extended, and he considered it callous not to accept.

Taking a stride forward, Lan-Dai kept all of his features hidden by his hooded cloak as he approached. Finding a place where he would not disturb those already present, he said nothing as he sat carefully in order to evaluate the exact purpose of this gathering, and who it was that now surrounded him.

Taking one of his daily strolls, Reggie noticed a group of individuals and was curious as to what they were doing. From what he could gather, they were participating in a class that was led by.....[member="Jairdain"]! It had been awhile since he had seen her, and it brought a smile to his face. After taking a closer look, he recognized some of the other people in the area. [member="Sky'ito Yumi"] was there, which reminded him that he needed to congratulate her on becoming a knight! They barely knew each other, but he still considered her a compaction. [member="Elizabeth Skywalker"] was another person that he barely knew, but still had become acquainted with before. Reggie had heard of the Jedi Master [member="Jessica Med-Beq"], but never actually met them in person. Everyone else were completely new to him. knowing his social personality however, That would most likely change.

After some time, Reggie walked over to the group. He was always interested in learning new skills or improving the ones he already have.

"I hope i'm not interrupting anything. May I join in?"

Reggie noticed the others approaching the Akk dogs and petting them, which he assumed was part of the training. He didn't want to just jump in without permission though, especially when he didn't know exactly what was being taught yet.

Sukai wished she had brought a note pad, this lesson was certainly becoming popular but more so the amount of information and questions being answered by [member="Jairdain"] was getting a little out of hand. Ture her memory was quite good due to certain reasons but even still this short span would be hard to recollect without taking down some information on a some device. Glancing around several new people arrived [member="Reggie Faayare"] being the one to get Sukai's attention, herself waving the young Padawan to her side to stand and watch the lesson and see the canine beasts being used.

Compared to the other beasts she had seen during trips in the outerim these babies were quite cute to look at, though herself going along with the lesson and hiding her force signature like the others around her. Blocking out emotion though was an odd concept, true she could be calm and mature but completely blocking out all emotion or making them seem unnoticeable, that was strange.

it was then as he tried to do his best to follow thru with both the lesson and all the talk that had been exchanged. But then again tried as he could it seems and felt not enought as for what its worth. He had never been one that did well with either being around other that he knew little or nothing of. Nor when it came to picking up follow thru instructed lesson for the most part which was something he'd hope rectify. In that, he figured perhaps attending a lesson taught by someone he knew and was connected with would help. At the very least but then again as much he'd not like to that he sort reverted back to old habits. Which although border on him somehow finding himself able to mask his force presence to those around him to some extent. When from ahead Jairdain came to speak to him along with the other in the class in giving him the name of the Akk dog who was but mere feet away from him.

"The one by you is Zorobos and Ronin yours is Sriala."

At which time he then seems momentarily distracted by this change in events alongside the arrival of few other to the class. That he slightly lost his clear focused so that his force aura seem to wildly shift to that of someone with a darker affinity to the force that he hopes. As with his momentary concentration relapse that sliver of the all but forgotten side him emerge briefly that he wanted to.
