They were going in silent, not to let anyone follow them, meeting up with a contact to slip them something. Any note that they were even there could put the contact in jeopardy, let alone the mission. He was hoping the drones would just move on. It was obvious that this was part of their patrol and that they would get on soon. And then some of his team got creative with their resources, and a couple of the crawling droids were sent scurrying off, attracting the drone's attention. Dominik sighed. Those drones would be discovered, either through saved footage or recovered from being blasted.

" Lyrrin Lyrrin !" He shouted over comms. "Let's not leave a trail behind, yeah? Recover your droids!" He thought desperately for a moment, recalling everything he could about his brand-new team. " Verin Verin , Cordé Sabo Cordé Sabo , you go with him!" Verin originally spotted the droids, she might be able to help locate and deal with them. With those guns, the medic would be vital if anyone got hurt. He pointed at those he spoke to, pointing after the drones. He got out from behind his tree and motioned for the rest to follow him. "Play it safe though, I'd rather have a droid left behind than one of you. Disable them if you can, less casualties the better. We'll go after the package. Meet up there or back at the rendezvous." He began running, dirt and grass turning to hardened duracrete.

The treeline opened up onto a large area of metal and stone, the factory they were aiming for. The specific meeting place was at a warehouse on the far side, so they'd have to make their way over open ground for about half a click. Dominik kept his body close to a building's outer wall, hiding in its shallow shadow. He kept his eyes open for any hostiles but there were none. The place was empty, no machines whirred most doors were closed. Except for the warehouse they were heading towards. It had its main bay door open. And beside it, on the inside, somewhat obscured by shadows, were the forms of two bodies. Something stirred by a window.

"We got company. Someone else is here." He said to his remaining team, Driver Driver and Mara Kellarov Mara Kellarov , and Lorian Arrlandi Lorian Arrlandi . Might explain those drones coming out of nowhere. He looked around. Factory, large open area, warehouses... Vehicles. There were drones and possible hostiles around, running all the way back wasn't a good idea. "Driver, find us a vehicle to take back to the treeline, we won't want to hoof this one. I don't care if it's a forklift, just something with wheels. Lorian, hide yourself. You and Mara are with me. Watch our backs, we're going for the contact. Eyes open, weapons ready." He looked at each of them and nodded. "Let's move."

Cora watched the Barabel trip, concuss himself, and fall to the ground while still holding the datapad-turned-weapon aloft.

Only after he hit the pavement did she realize what she'd done.

"Oh, no!" She shrieked, cradling the now thoroughly busted device gently in her hands. The screen was cracked to the point where tiny glass shards began flaking away, and the casing was bent nearly 90 degrees, bulging at the corners. "That is the second datapad I've ruined this month! Oh, father will surely be vexed…"

Trailing off, her attention shifted back to the scruffy looking man with the broken nose as he addressed her. She puffed out her chest.

"Of course not! Fear not, local citizen. You are safe now!" She extended a hand to help him up.

"Are you alright? Shall I escort you to a clinic for your injury?"

Not that she knew where anything was, but wasn't it a Jedi's job to help people? Or at least act like she was trying to help?

Just when they were about to enter the vipers nest the woman he saw earlier had come up to them. The more she got closer, the more he sensed that she was a fellow Jedi too. That was only confirmed when she expressed her help to the pair "Alora, it's good to meet you" he said with a respectful bow of his head "We'd be happy to have you along, it wouldn't hurt to have friends join us in this task" Silas said with a warm smile, before looking back to Miri who was probably itching to get inside.

She seemed to settle on the all blasters blazing plan, it was understandable considering the lack of intel. The same could be said for the girl, if they had more they'd do it so much faster than two people "And so it will be. Come on, le-" but when he was about to go a group of three had spotted them and began opening fire. Swiftly, Silas ignited his saber and jumped in front of Miri, deflecting blaster fire back to the gangsters and providing her cover.

"I've got you covered Miri!" he said with determination "Let's show them what they're up against!"

LOHOPA II - SPRAWL 3
LOWER LEVELS - ALLEYWAY

Father? Vexed? Oceiros silently mouthed "what" to himself as his sort-of-savior had a short little panic session over her datapad.
That's life for you. She assured him - in grandiose fashion and so many words - that she would not throw things at him. That he was safe now. "Uh, cool, kid. Thanks." He took her hand and got back up to his feet, then dusted his jacket off.
She was, like, some kind of teenager. And despite being in a pseudo-Jedi getup she had the distinct aura of someone who maybe didn't get out all that much in the way teenagers usually did. Which meant the immediate family was probably loaded in some way or another.
"Nah, I'm good. Never felt better," he said, and his nose throbbed as if to punish him for the lie. He meandered around Cora, taking a few steps towards the barabel. Oceiros proceeded to plant a foot in the unconscious lizard, rolling him over onto his back. "I'm on the job anyhow. Sorry about your pad?"
He wasn't. Not really. Sounded like dad would figure it out for her, even if he was, uh, "vexed." That was a ten credit word, for sure. Must've been nice. The barabel's mouth lolled open, tongue dangling out the corner, past rows of razor-sharp teeth. Even while taking a nap, these guys were scary. He'd better move this along quick.
Oceiros crouched down and, like this was the most normal thing a person could do in this situation, started going through the barabel's pockets. "So, uh, you called me… Citizen? Are you a junior-marshal or something?"
Obviously not. He just wanted to see what'd she say.

"Driver, find us a vehicle to take back to the treeline, we won't want to hoof this one. I don't care if it's a forklift, just something with wheels."

"Yes, sir," Driver replied with a half salute. "Don't have too much fun without me."

With that, it was into the factory. The factory had seen better days, at least as far as collected dirt was concerned. They seemed to have cleared out this place rather hastily. It didn't take long to find a vehicle hangar, and a vehicle in it. It was a supped up Recon Troop Transport, refitted for hauling cargo. Remnants of the old galactic civil war, and a cheap piece at that. It was likely done to reduce cost. Good for them, bad for Driver. The clone's hand went up to the communicator in his helmet.

<<Found a transport. It... sure is interesting. And old. Really old. I'm back in the West hangar. This blasted thing is gonna take a moment to fire up, so make your way to me when the package is secure. Over.>>

"Alright," he sighed, "Let's bring you back to life."

And with that, Driver began working on starting up the transport.

Usually, any fighting Alora did was defensive—and reluctant. However, she did what the force willed. Today, it seemed the force deemed fighting necessary. Even as a healer, sometimes it was unavoidable. Of course, it was the surest way to address the problem and free resources from the gang’s grip.
A small gasp escaped Alora as the gang members brought the fight to them.
The young man, Silas, was quick to spring into action deflecting blaster bolts with his saber. Alora's saber ignited, too, and did the same -- she sent one bolt back at the attackers, hitting a gang member's shoulder. She couldn't help but wince herself as it struck him, but the pain was enough to make the man drop his weapon... for now.
Like Silas, Alora pushed forward slightly to continue deflecting any blaster bolts that came to her side. Which left quite a lot of room for Miri to work on the offensive. As she focused her mind and her movements, Alora began to radiate a slight aura of force valor... which would aid her and her allies.

Well, everything was going fast, the drones were distracted, droids were sadly taken down, and the man leading our mission gave orders, which were for Lorian, Driver and Mara.
Lorian, hide yourself.
Lorian gave a simple, "Will do, Sir." and took on his Stealth Field Enhancer and his Optical Dephaser. He could now be seeing through most things and be invisible, what do you want more? And as the group that separated was advancing, Lorian heard Driver say;
<<Found a transport. It... sure is interesting. And old. Really old. I'm back in the West hangar. This blasted thing is gonna take a moment to fire up, so make your way to me when the package is secure. Over.>> he quickly said, <<Right, good luck then. Over.>> as they advanced in the Hangar.

Mara hadn’t missed a beat when she saw Verin suddenly pause, gesturing for everyone to move into cover. She immediately moved behind a tree, crouched behind some tall flora, and kept her profile low. Her rifle was aimed ready to fire if it came down to it. But it seemed everyone had hidden in time, as the group of drones loomed over them unalerted.

Why were they so heavily armed? Can’t just be here for scouting purposes.

She looked over as Driver conversed with Lyrrin, suggesting the use of his droids to provide a distraction for them. Mara gazed up, trying to discern if there were any identifiable markings on one of the drone’s chassis. But it was near impossible to get anything from such a low angle.

Two of Lyrrin’s droids scuttled out into view, making a show of it to grab the drones’ attention. Sure enough, the little ploy worked and they began to chase the droids away from their present location.

She heard her name being muttered, and a quick glance around made it apparent it had come from Corde. Even from this angle, she could see the young woman looking at her vambrace. Indeed, even if they themselves hadn’t been revealed, whoever was also after the objective was now aware of someone’s presence in the area.

If you happen to end up taking one of the drones down, check it for any identifying details that might clue us in on who our mysterious third party is.” She gave a nod towards that trio, before turning to look at Borra, Arrlandi and Driver.

They were now on a timer, more so than before. With the rising dawn fast approaching, and no doubt an enemy faction alerted to their presence.

We should expect company at the objective. They’ve likely realised the distraction and have split their own forces up to try and cut us off.” Mara readied her rifle, checking it over with quick precision before taking up her position with the Dominik. “One thing that bugs me though, how did they know exactly where we were?” The drones they sent out didn’t take long to reach their position. “Sure, they could’ve tracked our transport landing, but…

Mara let her words hang in the air. It could be just that simple of an answer, but it could also not be.

So anyway, Miri started blasting. Silas and Alora both provided cover with their blades as she shot at the gang members. Expecting blaster fire, their armor was ill-suited to slugs. Two Vipers fell within seconds, while the third was easily finished off.

Alas, the noise of battle had drawn the attention of others in the facility. Shouts and heavy footsteps echoed nearby. Rather than allow the Jedi trio to become surrounded by the enemy, Miri kept moving, shooting anyone who came within range.

Of course, her lack of a lightsaber did present something of a problem, even with Silas and Alora both providing cover. A blaster bolt managed to get through their wall of defense, hitting Miri in the shoulder while she was reloading her pistols. She grimaced in pain, but kept firing, her aim suffering for it.

Viper No Viping

Facility 482C
Thirty four miles east of Sprawl 3

Blasterfire rang out through the assembly line. Vipers and with a few reprogrammed security droids fired on the invading Alliance troops pouring into the plant from various entry points. Entering the main catwalk ahead of Minerva a GA trooper was struck in the gut and fell to the side, screaming. The Mandalorian, Irni and Zakul fired back down at the defenders below. A blaster bolt flew past the side of Minerva's neck, causing her to roll out of the way.

Meters away on the opposite end of the catwalk adjacent to the main office were several Vipers who appeared and took cover with the catwalk's small walls and fired on the intruders. Ducking down the team exchanged shoots with them, scorching the walls and roof with every missed bolt. Zakul's heavy blaster opened up, with maximum firepower, killing two and wounding a third. As for Sullustan sniper she waited down under cover until the hostiles were focused on her squad mates. Subsequently she peeked up and lined up a shot and fired, leaving a burning hole into Gran's middle eye as he collapsed.

Minerva took advantage of the remaining hostiles taking cover from her comrades before she flew above, gunning down a pair of Vipers and the rest panicked and were mostly shredded by the rest of the team's marksmanship. She landed on the other side, rolling before kicking the side of a human thug's legs and knocking him down. The latter barely had time to register what just happened before his forehead was blasted when Minerva pulled the trigger.

"Stop! Stop! We give up! Please just stop!" Panicked voice belonged to a yellow Twi'lek who raised her hands in surrender and with several others doing the same but ducking down from continued Alliance fire.

"On the floor now! Now!" Minerva demanded, pointing at the survivors who fearfully did so before she gestured for the team to cease firing and seconds later they stopped. A few more blaster bolts rang down below in the assembly line before it quieted down.

Swifty Minerva came running through the catwalk and joined her.

"I got nine." Zakul declared, causing Minerva to smile. "Ha ten for me."

"Uh how about we save this for later." Irni nervously pointed, causing the two to nod before they bust through the office door. They found it empty save for an overturned desk and papers scattered on the floor and security monitors that showed the Alliance was in full control of the plant as evident from collective footage.

It was confirmed with a commlink signal. They did it. Taking a moment to catch their breath the team helped round up their new prisoners and sweep the whole plant. More than twenty minutes later they were outside Minerva sighed in relief. It wasn't a glorious fight but a necessary one. Looking down at the half dozen gangsters sitting on the ground she scowled.

They're fortunate that they're going into Alliance custody and not under the Enclave. My people would've just executed them all.

Her thoughts were interrupted with the whine of speeder engines as more TT-37 Landspeeders arrived but this time with Alliance military police. Then an Alliance NCO called out to the troops as the MPs took custody of the prisoners.

"Alright Gorgara company, time to move out! There's more to be done."

Hearing that Minerva followed after Irni, Zakul and the rest of their team into gunship. As it lifted off the ground Zakul remarked with a smirk.

"We're not finished yet. Let's see what our final score will be."

Minerva snorted in amusement

"Indeed. Remember Zakul I prefer Corellian ale or brandy when you buy our drinks."

The team laughed out loud while their transports and the others flew off.

Aurora watched quietly as her partner took the lead comfortably, and guided them through the hallways. Even in her Cloak, which always would require a good amount of concentration to maintain regardless of skill, she was able to still focus on her senses as well. It allowed her to find the hostages, who were kept in a closed-off room with several armed enemies around them. There was no way to do this cleanly, but no hostage was going to be harmed.

<I'm going inside without drawing attention, and focus on a barrier around the hostages. You take the enemy out,> Aurora said before she phased through the door without a sound or visible distortion. It was one of the other techniques she had developed as a Shadow, but not one she was going to try and cover today. Once inside, she positioned herself behind the group and raised her hands to form an invisible barrier of Force energy around the hostages.

Whether they'd actually try to kill those people remained to be seen, but she wasn't taking any chances.

<Now.>

The second Aurorae would get through the door, the enemy would turn and open fire. Most would be focused on the Shadow who revealed herself, but one turned to the hostages and attempted to grab one... only to have his hand slam into the barrier. There was no way for them to gain leverage against the two Shadows anymore.

It was over for them.

Lyrrin winced away from the commlink that was hooked over his ear as the Deputy Chief ordered him after the droids he had just set off as a distraction. Lyrrin rolled his eyes in annoyance and sighed "Sure thing Chief." the Farghul looked to Cordé Sabo Cordé Sabo and Verin Verin while motioning to them both to come with him "They've not gone too far I'm sure. Shouldn't be too much walking." then Lyrrin turned his back to the rest of the team and began a brisk walk through the vegetation, pushing stems and thiny branching foliage out of the way as he went "I'll try not to bust 'em up to badly." he called over his shoulder in response to Mara Kellarov Mara Kellarov

Meanwhile Lyrrin patted at his utility belt which held a variety of small to medium sized pouches that held anything from dart based weaponry to scanners of various types. He hadn't thought about bringing some form of anti-droid weaponry. Maybe he'd need to take something like that in the future. Just one more set of weights to lug around!

Verin was about to volunteer for package retrieval duty when Borra ordered her otherwise.

This was a disappointment.

If the package was actually a Darkside Killer then she had wanted to hold it. Maybe sneak a peek while nobody was watching her. Which... in a way suggested it was the right move not to put her on that team. Seeing the wisdom Verin nodded briskly and kept a watchful eye out for more drones or other chit on her HUD.

"Aye-aye, cap', we will clean up after ourselves, dontcha even fret." It was a shame, of course. She had really wanted to see the package, but sometimes you just weren't so lucky.

Not even when your callsign was Lucky.

"Whatcha think, Cord." Switching over to a sub-channel just for the three of them. "How many of those drones could we take out, before they send off a signal to HQ?"

All of them?

Presumably, but they'd have to be smart about it.

"For what it is worth, buddy, I thought it was a great distraction." That one addressed to Lyrrin.

It was over before it began. The door opened, but Aurorae didn't step through it. A grenade did for her. A flash, blinding and bright to disorient. Then the vent. She slipped through the vent close to the door, crashing into the room as they fired at the doorway in their panic. Panic was all it took to overwhelm them. Her white blade arced through one after another, cutting through them one by one.

But with no wounds. Her blade, the Entropite crystal within, she wouldn't kill anyone here. By the time the last recovered from the flashbang, she'd already brought her blade through their neck to send them to sleep.

Humid, tender and insistent was the dawn’s creep through the sky. What had been midnight and dotted with stars was slowly, so slowly, bluing.

Which made seeing the path of the drones easier.

"Whatcha think, Cord. How many of those drones could we take out, before they send off a signal to HQ?"

Ten! Ten drones still felt like a lot. As a pretty fresh graduate, Cordé was still shiny on the field. Empress Teta, Ilum, Gihennom II — she could still count all her missions on one hand.

So as much as she would have liked to be puffed up with bravado and answer all of them, that was probably not true.

<Gonna have to be all of them.> She feigned. <First orders were not to be followed.>

"For what it is worth, buddy, I thought it was a great distraction."

<We could keep using them.> Cordé suggested. <There’s ten of them, three of us, but with the droids, we’re a little more even. Especially if we they do provide a distraction.>

She glanced to Lyrrin as they advanced in the direction of the drones, poised to engage.

<Right? Can those droids do some damage?>

Then, suddenly, she copied the hand gesture Verin had used earlier. The noise of the speeders was getting louder.

<They’re turning around!> Cordé’s voice was unnecessarily hushed across the group of three’s proximity channel.

Indeed, through the shadows of the forest, the silhouettes of the drones seemed to be becoming larger and faster on Null’s position. What could have made them end their scout so early?

Objective II: Exo Syndicate

The walled-in grounds sat near a precipice that overlooked perhaps the largest mining operation on Lohopa II. Given their sudden emergence, Dominique suspected they wanted to keep a close eye on their greatest investment. More importantly, keep their armed personnel within a rapid-response distance in case anyone thought to reclaim by force what they'd taken with a few choice words. And a bribe or two. Whatever their reason, and however quickly they'd given rise to the estate, her golden eyes had not seen any sign of haste taken in the construction. No cracks from a poorly prepared foundation. No lopsided corners, or oddly-placed windows or doors.

Those behind recent events had come with a plan in mind.

Good for them. If Dominique saw any reason to believe otherwise, she would make this exchange as short as possible and arrange for a less pleasant transition of authority. Ambition alone wasn't good enough. It didn't do anyone any favors on Denon, and it wouldn't do any on Lohopa II. You had to have more than luck on your side to weather whatever was thrown at you -- like the Alliance's various Agents crawling about nearby, no doubt.

The small entourage escorted their guest down a white paneled hallway further into their encampment. After a brief examination to make sure Dominique wasn't carrying any weapons, of course. Naturally, she understood, Dominique had replied casually to their heartless apologies for any inconvenience.

Hilarious, really. What did a Senator -- from Denon no less -- need with a blaster? Were these bandits? A criminal enterprise? Secret agents of some interstellar government? No matter how powerful or secure they felt in their position here, it wasn't enough. Certainly not when dealing with Dominique Vexx. If they thought to hurt her, or kill her, she would gladly pull the entire planet down with her, and all them -- and everyone they knew -- along for the ride.

She strode through the doorway at the end of the hallway alone. Her escort took up positions outside the doorway or wandered off after the door enclosed a private meeting room. Her eyes drifted along the landscape through the single pane of glass at the far side of that room. For a moment. Then they fell to the man on the far side of the table between them.

"Senator Dominique Vexx, of Denon, welcome." The figure smiled, but did not stand to their feet. "Please. Join us."

Two others occupied the room. One to either side of the man in the center that had spoken. A female to Vexx's left held a strength to her gaze; likely a physique hidden under her clothing to match. The bodyguard. While another male to Vexx's right had an almost bird-like quality to them; lithe, yet focused. An analytical man, perhaps? Second in command?

After she'd stepped forward and slowly settled herself into a seat across from them, Dominique smiled. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance. I had hoped we would have an opportunity to speak." That they knew her, and she scarcely knew them did not bother her over much. Annoying, true, but every second only told her more about this Syndicate. Just being there had been quite insightful.

"I thought as much. You hardly tried to conceal your movements among the same people that held our interests." A mirthless smile touched his lips. "Drink?"

Dominique's eyes shifted slightly to regard a droid that took a step forward out of the corner. "Please." She waited until the droid finished pouring what appeared to be a wine of some sort into a small wine glass. "I had no reason to conceal my movements." Unlike whatever clandestine operatives might be about. "Nor to announce them for all my competitors to see."

"And the desire to meet in person?"

"I prefer to know who my partners are when it comes to business. Too many holo-guises, comm-splices, and so on to trust something so... sensitive as this. I trust the scans taken earlier were to your satisfaction?"
Vexx smiled before she lifted the glass in one hand and touched the rip to her lips. She feigned the first sip. That it wet her lips was enough to gauge if they thought to drug her.

The man smiled in response. "And are you here on behalf of the Alliance or Denon?"

"What is good for Denon, is good for the Alliance. The resources on this world could fuel a number of industries. I see no reason we cannot reach some sort of accord."
All entirely true. In one form or another.

Three sets of eyes weighed Vexx's demeanor, her tone, and the content of her words. A little caution went a long way.

"A reliable trading partner would be beneficial."

Vexx lifted her glass and took an actual sip that time as the man spoke. "Agreed. To that end, however, perhaps a tour? The local governments were falling over themselves explaining the riches they'd found and handed to you for extraction. Sometimes they were so excited I began to question whether they'd found anything at all." The Senator followed her comments with an airy chuckle. Vexx really did want to the see the mine, however, before they started talking about what would be exchanged for its contents.

Lyrrin glanced over to Verin Verin whenever she complimented his plan, although it was really Driver Driver 's plan Lyrrin wasn't going to turn down any praise that stroked his ego - why would he? He wasn't a Jedi he didn't have to worry about upsetting the Force ghosts or whatever those people believed in "It was pretty great wasn't it?" he smirked and kept going while responding to Cordé Sabo Cordé Sabo 's questions "They've got what're basically holdout blasters in their arms so... yes? Sort of. Nothing too long or sustained but they can shot down a slow moving bot if they have to."

When Corde made a motion for the group to stop he paused alongside of them, squatting down quickly into the brush with his fingers sliding over the NoShow bracelet around his left wrist. The remaining four droids that followed Lyrrin also came to a halt and slowly moved their torsos side to side as if in a Lookout mode. The Farghul saw the drones coming slowly closer although he didn't see any signs of his two errant droids either. For now he didn't have clues to what was happening, at least no more than Corde.

Lyrrin slowly withdrew his Q2 hold-out blaster from a discrete holster on his right hip, with a surreal stillness his arm leveled forward and remained motionless with a dead aim. Lyrrin motioned with his left hand towards his droids which seemed to understand his intent. The four micro droids leveled their triple barreled arms towards the drones. It was no or never. He had to take out the drones in a single strike. Of course it'd be noticeable that the drones went offline in their vicinity but there was scarcely another viable option. Either he destroyed them now or the trio ran the risk of the drones revealing not only their location but size, gear set, and general makeup.

pzzt

Lyrrin squeezed the trigger on his Q2 which sent an emerald bolt of plasma out towards the drones, quicker than a the blink of an eye his droids followed his example and began to shoot at the drones with a decent accuracy at their present range. Within seconds the offending drones were downed by Lyrrin and his contingent of droids. Remaining in a squatting position with his blaster out stretched Lyrrin whispered to Verin Verin and Cordé Sabo Cordé Sabo "I think... that was all of them. Do you see anything?" meanwhile the micro droids miniature rotary blaster arms were steaming with atmospheric moisture.

Jumping into action, Silas and Alora did well to deflect away most of the shots from Miri who was shooting the thugs from behind them. However, one of their shots managed to slip through their defense and hit Miri on the shoulder. Gritting his teeth, he gave a cold stare at the last thug. The man shot directly at Miri once again, but this time Silas was ready to hit it right back at him. Crashing into his chest, the man fell backward to the floor to eliminate all that was left of the criminals.

"Miri? are you alright to continue?" Silas asked without looking at her, slowly moving forward towards the main entrance with the rest of them in tow "When we're inside, we'll only be able to give you cover for a short period of time, large numbers like that will cause us problems" the boy admitted openly "It may be wise to make use of cover inside or find a high point to rain fire onto them. In that case, we'd be able to deal with whoever is on the floor. "

Silas wanted to make sure everyone was safe before they went inside, no matter how easy the task look. Even with tasks like these, one small mistake could cost them their lives.

Minutes before the other NULL operatives had arrived, Elena had just finished her hike to the rocky outcrop overlooking the factory compound. She’d tracked the progress of her team once they landed, tracking each member on her HUD as she laid out her equipment.

So much stuff! Half of it was tech she’d never even seen before today, but Elena had run through the user instructions. For this mission her kit consisted of a subspace transceiver and secure commlink to ensure encrypted communication between herself, the team and the Reticent-Class supporting them in orbit. As much as she had hated her placement in signals after her graduation from basic, Elena had to admit it had prepared her well for this.

By the time she had finished her setup, the team had landed near the treeline and were moving forward. Elena listened to their comms chatter as she laid down next to her comms equipment and watched them press forward, her rifle perched on a stand in front of her, primed and ready to use if she needed it.

"We got company. Someone else is here."
"This blasted thing is gonna take a moment to fire up, so make your way to me when the package is secure."
"Will do, Sir."
If you happen to end up taking one of the drones down, check it for any identifying details that might clue us in on who our mysterious third party is.
"For what it is worth, buddy, I thought it was a great distraction."
<They’re turning around!>

It was a little surreal, and Elena couldn’t help but grin listening to the back and forth. It was beginning to sink in that this team and this work was her life now, hers! It made her a little giddy thinking about it.

She couldn’t wait to get to know everyone, to form bonds and friendships and share stories. So far everyone was really intimidating. Some of them seemed okay, sure. But all were older, more experienced, smug and self assured. Elena wasn’t lacking in self confidence by any means, but she hadn’t got any ins to really talk to anyone yet.

She would get through to them though, she always did.

The new development drew her attention back to the mission. The operatives had made it to the warehouse despite the close shave with the patrol drones. Elena scanned her instrument displays for a few moments before opening up her commlink for the first time since the mission had begun.

“Heyyyyy team. I’m seeing some more network activity from the factory’s security system. Can’t tell what’s going on but it's probably some sort of alert from the drones. No alarms triggered so far.”

Elena’s eyes flickered to her map display, the ten dots that had indicated the patrol drones were now gone. For now, no more had taken their place.

"No more patrol drones have been deployed. They might be out. I would still suggest staying out of the open, seems like they might have other security systems."

There was a moment of silence before Elena’s voice crackled over the comms once more, this time noticeably playful.

“And try not to get shot!... Over” she laughed, closing the commlink and turning her attention back to the displays.

Alora's head turned when Miri took a hit.
Had she let that shot through? Combat wasn't her strongest suit, after all. But there wasn't time to dwell. Once the threat had been dealt with outside, Alora moved to join Silas and Miri. "Are you alright?" she asked, joining the chorus.
It seemed their work here had only just begun. With more fighting ahead, Alora attempted to steel her nerves. She turned to Miri, "I can heal the wound if you like -- but you'd have to be very careful not to over-exert yourself. Otherwise, I can mend you up once we're done here."
The healing energy was already gathering in the palm of Alora's hand, if Miri wanted it. And she'd be ready to move on to complete their next objective: clearing the processing facility of the gang.
