A Good Day to Die Hard [Republic Invasion of Balmorra]

Alyona Volkovna (Алёна)

Алёна Вохин (Light of the Voxyn)
Objective: PvP
Location: Balmorra Arms Factory
Enemies: Trin Gravois | [member=[/SIZE]Lucas Gravois] | [member=Nolan Detta]
Allies: Jedi, GR
Equipment: Luke Skywalker's lightsaber (EVI), shoto lightsaber, various stun, flash, and fragmentation grenades.

Previous Post

The blast washed over Alyona's invisible barrier, smoke curling around the edges of a non-existence sphere as the concussive force of the blast broke against her like a wave. She was thrown backwards, end over end, and came up on one knee several meters away. The Sith she fought faced down the blast as one might face down a fronting Kath hound. What he lacked in agility he more than made up for in sheer might of will. Alyona silently praised him for his fighting spirit, though she could feel his presence in the Force was...distracted. Either with thought, or emotion, the man had a lot heaped onto his proverbial plate. Alyona herself remained focused, though she soon regretted redirecting her opponent's attention towards the other weapons she carried. A row of red and yellow lights flared into existence around her waist and Alyona didn't squander a moment of opportunity. She dislodged the clip holding the utility belt around her hips and leapt forward, leaving it behind as she renewed her attack on the Sith.
The grenades detonated behind her, exploding at slightly different times (due to having longer/shorter fuses), destroying the foundation of one of the factory's support pillars. The pillar cracked and splintered, breaking apart some three-quarters of the way up and falling away from its position toward Alyona and Gravois. Her danger sense kicked in as she was preparing to launch a new strike against her opponent, throwing herself sideward and rolling over one shoulder as the pillar came crashing down betwixt her and her opponent.

It became abundantly clear that, with the cessation of the fire, the muted thump of the blast, and the energy that was scorching the air on the other side of the room, Eralam's services weren't needed to finish off the Jedi.

It was also clear that no one was paying much attention to the door.

"C'mon guys," he muttered. "Y'all should know better by now."

The Shard's prodigious skill with Absorb had kept his saber, pistol, and the reloads safe, though his cloak was singed beyond repair. Oh well. He dropped the tattered scrap of cloth to the deck, took a couple seconds to reload the pistol, and turned towards the door. Anyone else trying to enter the room was going to be in for a nasty shot. Er, I mean, shock.

"Are you o-" Suddenly her mouth froze up, as did the rest of her body. With her limited return to the force she could feel what it was, a stasis field conjured around the two of them. To it's fullest it would render them motionless, yet to the stronger willed it was less effective. Minna herself sat in between the ends of the spectrum, as she could still move somewhat yet each muscle seemed to ache and drag, as if something held back her every movement. As if she was in slow motion, she could only half-cover Mantic's body with her own when the shots came in. A few of the shots flew past them, closing enough to hear and eventually feel the heat. The first successful impact smashed into the back of her shoulder, burning through her robes and seering the flesh underneath. A second grazed her upper back, leaving another nasty mark. The pain that accompanied the shots were less than what she expected, the catatonic state they had been placed in affected her nerves, and so there was nothing worth screaming about; atleast until the field wore off.

Because of this lessened pain she could concentrate more, and therefore connect with the force as best she could. It was weak and sparse, yet it's basic webs were visible to her. Quickly she reached out, allowing the mystical entity itself to guide her and notice the crumpled shipping containers piled up nearby. Upon the top of the pile some containers were perched on the edge, damaged and disturbed by the explosions but not enough to have sent them off. With the limited connection and the few seconds she had, she gave them the nudge they needed. That was all she could do, since by then the rest of the Sith's surprises came. A horrible red lightning crackled at them, draining energy from her atleast, even though there would be little for him to take from her. She was cut from the force almost completely again, and it was down to physics for her plan to work, unless Mantic could react.

The first container slammed straight down upright, coming to a stop there with only it's sound echoing out and no damage being done. The second, however, came down sliding over the first and hit the ground at an angle, causing it to rock forwards and then, once it had gone from balancing on one edge to the other, planting itself harshly behind Minna long-ways. This had happened after Draco had recieved his energy, yet three-quarters through Vrag's burst of laserfire. Her shots continued to rip forward, bursting holes in wall of the container facing the Sith, and eventually starting to pentrate the wall facing her. Another few shots came through, missing her, although she could not speak for Mantic.

Just as it seemed they had blocked the worst of the attack, two disruptor shots passed through. The one aiming for her hit the upper part of her cybernetic arm, sending a shock through her and practically disabling it. She could not feel the difference yet, as the stasis was still wearing off, but when she did she would know she had no control over that arm. Although there was a stasis field slowing her movements, the force of all the shots and attacks meant she was now on the floor, sprawled out as she fought to regain control whilst push the incoming intensity of pain to the back of her mind. She couldn't see Mantic, whatever he was doing or about to do she could not help with. Her part was done, she only hoped he could hear her attempts at communication, both through the force and through her muttering.

"the container.... Throw it... Use it... Please..."

Slowly it came back... Control... Feeling... Pain....
She needed to be quick, and so did Mantic.

War is often glorified by those who have never stepped foot on the battlefield. However, if those ignorant simpletons were to see the state that Gonrinth Canyon was in now, they would understand that war was an ugly and messy affair. There is no right or wrong in war, just the victorious and the defeated. Power and strategy was all that mattered.

Konrad and his troops stationed themselves at Gonrinth Canyon, prepared to participate in combat if engaged. His objective – holding Gonrinth canyon was more important to him than the combat that surrounded him. Atrategically, it was more beneficial to the campaign for Konrad and his troops to hold their position rather than engage in the battle that surrounded them.

“Hold formation, and don’t even dare move a muscle,” Konrad ordered his troops with an authorative expression on his face. “Anyone thinking about being a 'hero' and joining the battle, step forward now so I can cut you down. I have no need for those who disobey obey me.”

Forces:
500 x Infantry
10 x IW-02A Lohengrin
9 x IW-01A Phaedra
9 x IW-01B Croesus
8 x AT-AW
6 x Tartoros Class Walker
5 x IW-02B Tannhauser

The republic’s attempt to block the entrance of the caves was in vain. The caves used to hide the AT-AW’s where in the side of the cliff, with a sharp drop in front of them. There was no large flat space for the debris to collect on. Large chunks of the Cliffside were blown out, and fell to the ground at the bottom of the canyon. This had the unintended consequence of opening up the cave exit, giving the AT-AW’s a wider firing arc. They used to their advantage, and continued firing on the republic forces.

A few squads of infantry, armed with anti-armor weaponry, used the cave system to travel down to just above where the two damaged MAT-TE's had fallen. Using the canyon as cover, they fired down on the MAT-TE's with anti-armor weaponry, and retreated back into cover to protect themselves.

As the K-Wings began their attack run, the Croesus anti-air units creped out of different cave openings. More dummies were activated, exposing their heat signatures to cover those of the real units. The K-Wings flew over, and the Croesus units fired upwards with their rotary cannons. Once again, and incredible amount of lasers filled the sky.

Bizarrely, the Republic army tasked air-units to destroy anti-air walkers. The gunships crept around the edges of the canyons, before entering the firing range of the Phaedra anti-air walkers. Their powerful flak cannons fired directly at the gunships, exploding and sending extremely large pieces of shrapnel in all directions. As a follow-up, the Phaedra’s locked on to the gunships with their homing missile octets, and fired a wave of homing missiles. Afterwards, the anti-air units once again retreated back into the caves. One Phaedra unit lost its shield, and one missile octet was destroyed.

The Republic commando’s attempted to assault the Sith weapon emplacements. It wouldn’t be easy for them to do, as a vast majority of Isamu’s infantry was tasked with protecting the weapon emplacements. As the commando’s came into range, the Sith infantry ambushed them. They fired on them with blaster rifles, and rocket launchers. They lobbed thermal detonators at them. Having finally come out of their armored hiding spots, Sith snipers hidden throughout the canyon fired upon the commando’s. Those at the garrison, and those attacking the weapon emplacements.

A small force of Republic commando’s attempted to place a det charge on one of the AT-AW’s in the caves. As they jumped off, attempting to get to a safe distance, the AT-AW slammed itself into the side of the cave, dislodging the detpacks. They fell out from the entrance of the cave, and harmlessly exploded below.

The AT-AW targeted by the four MAT-TE’s ion cannon took a few hits, before backing up into the cave. The cave offered the AT-AW sufficient protection, and stopped the remainder of the ion cannon rounds from connecting.

The MAT-TE’s that approached the artillery positions found themselves ambushed by the other four AT-AW’s that hadn’t engaged yet. They fired the full force of their weaponry into the MAT-TE’s. The artillery emplacements aided in the assault and unleashed a missile barrage onto the MAT-TE’s.

The Republic were foolish to believe the entrance to the garrison would be undefended. What Republic commando’s that were able to land land, were intercepted by the ten Tartoras Class Walkers that had been absent from the battle, so far. The Tartoros class walkers initially attacked with their rear-mounted missile turrets. Each walker fired four missiles each at the Republic Commandos, afterwards firing on them with their laser cannons.

The Tannhauser which had previously lost its right arm was fired upon, and one of its two sets of artillery cannons were destroyed. It continued to fire back at the enemies that damaged it, with three artillery cannons, both missile pods, and the left missile arm. The other Tannhauser lost its left missile arm, but also continued firing back with six cannons, one missile pod, and the right missile arm.

To the block the bulk of the Republic forces, a few of the Lohengrin and Tannhauser artillery walkers fired into the cliffs on the canyon in front of the Republic walkers. The sheer force of the weaponry caused a landslide to occur, dropping an incredible amount of debris in the path of the republic walkers. Enough to make any further forward push difficult.

Republic rockslides, clever tie maneuvers, trench digging v2, and suicidal armor charges.

Tie Fighters
First the good....

A clever move, the mark of an experienced commander to hold until the final moment. 60 Grenades no small amount, nor small amount of men firing them. The sporadic tie fighters harrassing the flanks found themselves with a much bigger, more clustered target as the brave clones moved into range of the equally bold AT-ST's flanking charge.

Split focus, a lot of exchanges going on, through it with their usual screeching sound the tie's dodged and weaved. 2 were toast instantly, a third rookie got really low and close, making a likely damaging run on the Lusk's 60, sadly for him it was too low and he found out just how fragile tie fighters were, cut down to crash nearby or into his target. Two other tie's were more fortunate, making spiraling attacks in and out at speed, their laser fire erupted down on the brave 60 from above. The commander's alternate flank was only chipped away at, seeing no large move, only a couple more tie's lost, but a squadron had disappeared, withdrawn perhaps?

AT-ST
Then the bad...

Facing this many grenades, even if some of the troopers were likely going to die or dodge before throwing them, was truly devastating. The speed of the AT-ST's carried them onward but it was too big to avoid. Two were quite literally blown into flaming metal shreds, a third had a badly crippled leg and looked like it might fall over at any time, while the one at the front luckily made it up and over the ridgeline, too bold, too brave it tried to just run down men underfoot, shooting its way into the middle of the already likely battered 60 brave men. You had to give both groups points for guts!

AT-AT
Then the ugly (but still beautiful)...

Whoever was in command of the AT-AT, if he survived was getting a promotion. He did what few AT-AT drivers ever did, and stepped backward, leaving the right front quarter pointed to the enemy, one, two and almost a third gigantic step gave the behemoth some distance but more importantly narrowed the point of where the missiles were coming from, or tried to. Whoever had fitted AT-AT's with turbolasers after endor force thank him. They only had 10 missiles to aim at this time, but with the narrower focus, they hit one which took out a couple again. More focused on the missiles than the enemy, many wild turbolaser shots might fly past them toward the republic's general direction once again, peppering their positions.

Multiple impacts hit home against the thick upper armor, penning the upper right shoulder, save a couple that shot by harmlessly, again the AT-AT lurched on the front right this time, and ugly smoke could be seen igniting inside, shrapnel cutting up those crew unlucky enough to be hit. You had to give them credit, they were doing their best to contain the fires even then, she was still standing, stubbornly so but her legs weren't moving anymore, as if locked on the right shoulder. Then the forward right leg began to shake...

Infantry/Kylath
And finally the smart....

For the infantry it looked pretty grim, morale wavered slightly but held as the enemies attention was elsewhere. Kylath could see it and so could the commander, the gunners being cut down, till all they had were regular troopers on the larger guns, clever sniper work to reduce accuracy. Kytlath wasn't a commander, but he saw what [member="Alva Calvarona"] was doing on another part of the battlefield, “throw everything you've got at the canyon. You don't have much time.”

Commander Tnaris looked at the situation, looked at Kylath, and then nodded. If the republic weren't coming to them, they'd bring them down to visit. Easier to hit stone for inexperienced gunners! So streams of thick particle beams, and heavy blaster canon fire hit the very base of the high ground that had been the republic's advantage, as the ground itself was used against them, beginning to crack and crumble. A landslide was forthcoming at the more vertical points, while the route down over lesser inclines was about to become rubble filled, harder or perhaps slower, for those that didn't fall! How very [member="Raien Keth"] of them, perhaps the thought had been given from afar.

At the rear two dozen men began to dig more trenches behind the Sith's current line, they seemed empty, while at the front thick ugly liquid was poured into the forward most trenches, curious? Perhaps Lusk might realise the potential new tactic being laid, the longer they had to prepare...

Total Losses Now:
Tie Fighters (16/24)
AT-ST (2/4) (1x One crippled leg)
AT-AT (15% Armor) (Heavy Damage Right, Heavy Damage Left, Damage Head, On Fire, Very Unsteady)
30% Walker Effectiveness
769th Stormtrooper Reserves (167/200)

Actions Summary
  • Tie Fighters Diving attacks on Lusk's 60 Clones, others sniping at opposite flank. 1 Squadron moving out of view? Several Tie Hit.
  • AT-ST 2 Blown up, 1 Charging Lusk, 1 crippled and limping to fire,
  • AT-AT Backing up to narrow angle of fire, now on fire but further back from the front, very unsteady
  • Infantry Main Guns Firing at Canyon at base, trying to bring down a landslide for those resting above, and/or make the route down slower or more difficult. Small arms continuing to exchange fire with snipers.
  • Trenches being dug behind and liquid? Poured into the trenches in front.

Major Janier slammed his boots down on the plateau and took in the scene. Around him blaster shots buzzed by his head and around him like death rain. In the distance Sith artillery laid down a wall of indirect fire forcing his forces to slow their advance and sit in the open terrain at the top of the plateau. A trooper beside him yelled loud over the whine of the Maats engines.

"Major, were sitting ducks out here."

Janier nodded and walked away from the transport as it finished deployment ans rose into the air. HE walked up to join his command squad no taking cover behind a Maat that has been forced to land after it was damaged on the inbound decent. Its armored hull giving the squad sanctuary for the moment but that would not last long.

"Jones! Get the birds on the horn, We need them inbound now!"

The man kneeling down beside the transport nodded then began trying to reach the bombers over head. Janier looked around the edge of the craft as his forces in the distance looking for cover anywhere they could find and attempting to advance. The force knew the plateau had defenses but the numbers were far greater than the Republic intel had lead them to believe was present. Just another reason this alliance was doomed to fail.

"Major, sir, Bombers in bound ETA three minutes and seventeen seconds"

Janier nodded. The thirty six bombers were now moving into lay down fire on the enemy force int he distance. Major Janier looked around the edge of the crashed transport now acting as a bunker for his command squad, then was thrown to the ground as a transport slammed into the ground fifty meters from their position. The blast threw his squad up against the hull of the Maat as the concussion of the blast threw debris earth and fire in all directions. They had finished their deployment and were not in a holding pattern awaiting order. Another exploded in the distance falling to the planet in a blazing ball of death for any it fel upon.

"Jones, Have the Maat's move in. see if they can clear out some of that artillery for our advance."

"Yes sir"

The com officer gave the order and the remaining assault ships nosed down and sped off towards the Imperial lines.

Kiyron

Guest
Objective: PVP-Balmorra Arms factory
Opponents: [member="Darth Pyrrhus"] [member="Darth Vornskr"]
Gear: RSFU Officer's armor, MX-1 sniper rifle, MKII Boltgun, 3x thermal detonators, generic canon disintegrator pistol, 2x stun grenades, generic canon vibrosword,

Another signature apppeared on his HUD, charging towards him on his right. He turned and scuttled back as a Sith in Vong crab armor rushed him at absurdly fast speeds. Kiyron dropped his hand down to his side, yanking the disintegrator pistol from the holster. He pulled the trigger one time and then jogged backwards as the lightsaber slash came for him, searing across his armor and into the walkway beneath his feet. He winced inside the helmet as the heat transferred to the undersuit. Ah, lightsabers. Whoever invented them should have gotten a slap up side the head when they considered the idea. The metal creaked beneath his feet and he wobbled, not knowing anything of the lightsaber style the Sith was using. A lightsaber was a lightsaber and some were better at deflecting blaster fire than others.

Then he noticed another presence in the HUD sensors and he craned his head to see who it was. Was that the infamous Darth Vornskr himself? Now, wasn't this a party. He kept backing up along the wallway, thinking and listening to the metal creak, while the pistol cooled down. Too close of a range for the bolter at the moment. Definitely too close for a grenade. At this present moment, at least. If things got desperate, that would be a different story. Explosions rang through the air from the other fight, echoing through the building and he ducked, just in case. Who was bringing the factory down on their heads? But nothing from the ceiling came tumbling down and no fire rose up from the floor to surround them like some radical metal concert. It seemed they were okay up here. For now, anyways. But how to handle this situation? Two seemingly quite powerful and experienced Sith were stalking him. They weren't packing loads of fancy equipment though, which made things easier.

This walkway was too narrow for him to move around in. No place for cover or to hide in. Nothing to use to divert lightsaber strikes. The walkway wobbled again and he stared down at it. Kiyron smiled. The pistol had cooled down. He stood and pulled himself upright, saluting the two Sith while holding the pistol in the other, pointing to the walkway support near where it had been slashed by a lightsaber. He pulled the trigger and the disintegrator bolt seared through it, breaking the metal down to atoms. Then it buckled, sending Kiyron sliding down towards the floor, sparks flying up as the metal int he armor scraped against the metal of the walkway. it dumped him onto the floor with a loud crash. He rolled and jolted to a stop before hauling himself upwards. The floor was spinning and he ducked behind some crates, reholstering the pistol and pulling the bolter back to his shoulder to fire another quick burst up towards the two Sith.

Oh Nulhrokka you didn’t! Yurzhoc looked up, the commotion above the garrison was enough to send every tom, dick, and harry into action. Or whatever the Yuuzhan Vong equivalent of that was.

giphy.gif

For the Qorih’kralt being attacked mid air by ground-to-surface missiles, they would soon learn of the fury of the flying monkey of doom. Or more importantly, their innate maneuverability based on diet and inclination for survival. The Yuuzhan Vong would claim it cowardice, but not the Qorih’kralt. Missiles quickly coming upon them, they spread like debris in the wind, flying map of the earth along the canyons and plateaus. Fast and sharp changes would lead very little harry monsters plumetting to their death, and would instead rain rubble and rocks down to the ravines below. Sure, the missile launchers would have range, but these beasts had life long development towards avoidance of damage. All and all, five of the Qorih’kralt mapping group would fall to their death in violent sort of spurts. There bodies would breath their last breaths upon rock and carcasses of the fallen, just like a mass grave. Perfect.

Republic commandos dropping from their vessels would soon find their world turned up a few notches. In the form of fast flying nuhlrokka, 50 in total, flying above the garrison. With anti-laser aerosol permeating from their rakes, small munitions would be left invariably obsolete against the genetically superior specimen. Upon their backs, chitin carbine would fire out thud bugs against the foes in unison, mixing a heavy blend of biotics with fire. Even if the bugs were caught on fire themselves, they would fly true with kinetic impact. The Nuhlrokka would tear the unknowing apart, given the chance, and armor wouldn’t save them. From below, another 50 would mount their nuhlrokka in unison, preparing to ascend in high speed strafes as they aimed to engage with pincers and claws and spewing flames before the commandos could set foot.

Their upwards intents would be mirrored as the mern kane shifted in upward attacking flinging thud bugs in repetitive raucus. Weaving in, the Yorik-Vec hovered in preparation, anticipating the incoming A-10 LAAT Gunships. Intercepting their support, a surprise fire came in the form of a unilateral onslaught of quad volcanic cannons and dovin basals, firing upon locations as shields were pulled away via targeted gravimetric beams.

The 6 rakamat, in unison, began to work with the nearby forces as they powered on dovin basticks and basals intermingled. To pick up fire and rubble, they worked with almost perfect efficiency, random stones striking against the surface of their armored shells and leaving them with all around grumpy sentiments.

Yurzhoc stood from his position, the time had finally come. And just then, a stone landed on the pizza oven. Turning from that, he felt anger boil at as his stebbles ripped back in a spear position. He would intercept these menaces, the sort that would destroy a man’s kitchen. Had they no decency!

Warriors, fire!

Thud bug launchers from hunched position echoed in mosaic with the fire of the Mern Kane and atop the garrison, soldiers stood ready in full Vonduun armor and amphistaff, with nang hul worm components, to destroy whatever pieces of this nonsensical attack that might set foot upon the killing field.

Across the canyon edges, Yaret-Gavvuk switched fire from the plateau to the current excursion, aiming sailing blue plasma at the walkers. Additional warbeasts fired up within the garrison, Firebreathers spraying upwards with sticky napalm. Either it would intercept the fallers or coat the walls of the canyon before sizzling out against stone. This was a calculated attack, one that left little fire rain from crashing back down upon the Yuuzhan Vong deployment.

NPC Template:

Units (first Wave):
300 Yuuzhan Vong Elite Warriors (100 now on Nuhlrokka)
100 Mern Kane
6 Rakamat
3 Grokata
50 Nuhlrokka
15 Defensive Yaret - Gavvuk
In atmospere:
30 Yorik Vec, cruising over heard, firing on A-10 LAAT gunships
Multitudes of Yorik-Trema, from cruisers in space. They will drop additional forces as secondary pushes for defense.
Objective: Nomming, passing the time and defending a main garrison.

Summary:
- 5 Qorih'kralt are killed in action, very sad. Their families will be honored with massacring of said family.
- Falling commandos are engaged by a sleugh of attacks. This includes 50 nuhlrokka with riders mounted, 100 mern kane firing from the garrison, and defensive placed elite warriors firing with thud bug launchers.
- Yaret-Gavvuk, hidden within the canyon, join the fight with line of sight fire and artillery shelling against mechanized units currently firing on qorih'kralt and being used for cover fire, as well as dropping of troops.
- Ground based dovin basal and bastick placements minimizes all falling debris to negligible
- Placement of warriors on top of garrison mean commando forces are NOT landing without engaging them. So keep that in mind and read the above equipment list for potential loadout.
-All 30 Yorik-Vec engage the A-10 LAAT gunships, currently distracted with cover fire support (presumably).
-Firebreathers engaging those falling towards the garrison

There was only so much any individual could take before being required to revert to baser methods in terms of combat, and Keira could feel herself nearing that point, though she blatantly refused to acknowledge it. Pain was power, as an old mentor had been fond of reminding her, but even that had its limits. But with a sizable cut on her left outer thigh that had skimmed almost deadly close to her knee and another on her right shoulder, she knew her mobility was more than a little impeded thanks to their own offensive. It was always a nuisance when the blood on your hands just so happened to be your own.

A brash and admittedly uncalculated burst of the Force redirected the concave blast door so that it at the very least would miss the two of them. The molten metal was another matter, and she managed an impromptu ethereal shield that only blocked the very worst of it. A fair amount still splattered through, and all she could do was turn away and shield herself as best as possible through physical means. It so happened that white hot metal elicited a different sort of pain than the flames she had faced in the past, spraying across her side and back, the blast vest she wore doing little to prevent any damage. That would be an interesting story to tell later.

That she was knocked off her feet didn't help matters any, and all she could really do was roll with the impact and stifle a creative string of curses as she pushed herself into a standing position, still remaining slightly stunned. Maybe this wasn't going to be as easy as she had anticipated.

"Thirty Mike Mike Tango Left!!!!! Thirty Mike Mike!!" He yelled to his men at the flank.

With about thirty clones left on that front they pulled themselves together and would bury their dead later. For now they had a fight to win, and their armor would be their saviors. With the Olympian class armor the clones at the booted up their jump packs and started to boost away from the walkers with speed and precision while ten had stayed back to let another concentrated volley of grenade fire on the left Walker.

Lusk himself was all but sprinting towards the one on the right side, with eyes focused on it he let out a roar as the pack on his back flared to life and jumped him up to the top of the second walker's side. Hanging on by its gun he reached down and grabbed a thermal detonator and activated shortly after tossing it into the eye slats of the AT-ST. Like a swimmer pushing off a wall he jumped off the side of the walker's head and hit the ground with a roll to hopefully get an explosion behind him.

As for the AT-AT, a combat engineer by the name of Splodi leveled one last shot at the massive metallic beast. With a laze activated and locked he fired off one more missile that flew forward and slammed into one of the holes on monsters side. Impacting the power source the entire Walker went up in a massive brightly colored explosion of chemicals and elements combusting in the blink of an eye.

"Bullseye!!!" He said as he fist pumped.

"What?!" A Isard clone next to him responded.

"No not you Bullseye! The Walker! I hit it!" He said in response to his sister.

"Oh, well, carry on then!" She said as she loaded up another rocket into a scrap maker.

They had lost seven of the Scrap makers in the explosions, too damages to be used anymore, along with their brothers and sisters either dead or wounded. But they had twenty three of those suckers left and if people could count they outnumbered the ties. So aiming, locking, and firing the remaining missiles over the course of twenty or so seconds fired off three or four at a time until all rockets were away to chase down their airborne enemies.

"Keep up the sniper fire!! INFANTRY!! PREPARE SHIELD FORMATION!!!" Lusk yelled to his men and kept up his leadership and strength.

Snipers continued to fire from their positions either on guns, or any trooper that wanted to stick their heads up during the fight. These clones were born for this and they were going to take that canyon no matter what.

As blades of blue and green arced out from his saberstaffs, he watched Bix move quickly, slicing away at water pipes, destroying much in only a short amount of time with little effort, her lightsaber cutting seamlessly through the metal. However, as she landed on the conveyor belt, the rush of water pressurized at a boiling point, shooting like a jet right at him. Gritting his teeth, he brought one of his open hands up, using the Force to divert the water onto the wall opposite of him. As it scalded the metal, he lifted his other hand up, closing off the pipe.

It wouldn't take long for the pressure to build back up in the pipe, knowing it would explode throughout the room, searing both him and Bix. Clenching a fist, the wall that had been sprayed on came loose, flying at Mak. Bringing his saberstaffs up, he cut it down to small pieces with a second before he sent them flying at Bix, tiny scalding pieces of metal that were hurtling at the conveyor.

The 6 MAT-TE's scaling the cliffs down into the canyon took advantage of the exposure of the hiding AT-AW's, targeting them one at a time for what felt like assured destruction. The 4 hiding walkers were targeted by pairs of MAT-TE's, who reverted to their standard high explosive sabot rounds, mass driven at a velocity of 6km/s. The cannons loosed 8 rounds each, delivering 16 rounds to each one of AT-AW's hiding away within the canyon walls.
As return fire greeted them, the MAT-TE's activated their hard kill protection systems. The vehicles were enveloped in curtains of flame and smoke, their shields reduced by 5% each but their momentum unfettered by the Sith response. The protection countermeasures shut off after the wave of fire, their charges needing time to reload themselves (one post).
Vong artillery rained down, embroiling the land in fire. The Republic's only advantage against the artillery at the time was their position on the 90º slopes of the canyon. The arcing artillery was much accurate than when firing on area targets, but even so, the shields of the MAT-TE's were sapped by each impact as the Vong rounds were too large for their protection systems to destroy or deter.
Surface-to-Air Missiles joined the battle as the 50 Nulhrokka took the the air. The MAT-TE's positioning also allowed them to engaged the beasts with their anti-personnel cannons, filling the sky with lasers that would unfortunately see reduced effect when encountered by the anti-laser aerosols.

The 2 MAT-TE's that had previously fallen disgorged their Commandos for infantry support, who deployed to protect their damaged vehicles. The 2 MAT-TE's active protection systems were activated as rockets streamed in from a higher elevation, embroiling their sides in flame, but leaving the vehicles well protected for the moment.
As the fire began, 4 Mk-I AWD's (Automated Walker Droids) leapt down from the plataeu amongst the attacking Sith on the upper level, their 2 concussion grenade launchers dumping 6 grenades each (24 grenades total) and blaster cannons engaging the line of Sith.
At the same time, 2 platoons of Commandos that had deployed left a 10 man escort behind while the remaining 30 Commandos jump-packed themselves up onto the higher level, landing behind the initial wave of rocketeers and sending their bodies to their deaths on the slopes below. They then turned their attention to the rest of the attacking Sith, their Verpine weapons worked to silence entire squads.
Meanwhile, the 2 MAT-TE's focused their fire on one of the previously targeted Phaedra gun, releasing another 20 rounds of ammunition to the now-unshielded anti-aircraft gun emplacement.

2 of the AT-AP's continued their strafing movements, taking moments here and there to fire upon their immobile targets. The Tannhauser missing both of its arms and half of its artillery cannons found itself once again center of attention, as 16 more shells dropped were unloaded onto it by the attacking walker pods. The Tannhauser's last response had been a reduction of previous attacks due to the damage it had taken, though the pod walkers sustained 15% shield damage.
The other 2 AT-AP's continued strafing and firing upon the second damaged Tannhauser (the one missing its left missile arm). 16 more shells were delivered, and a similar (10%) shield damage was taken.

At the Garrison below, Republic Commandos were engaged by Tartoros Walkers, hurking beasts of metal that hefted large cannons and launchers. Nearly a dozen Commandos were thrown into the air by the explosives launched, others were injured by debris. Undeterred by the new attack however, the Commandos focused on breaching continued to do so, blowing detcord charges around various entrances and weakpoints while their comrades turned their attention to the new threat.
The Commandos, by now organized into squads of 9, initiated a wave of anti-tank fire and detpack setting. 5 Commandos remained on the various outside levels of the Garrison and fired missiles at each of the Tartoros, whilst the remaining 4 used their jump packs to launch themselves onto the slow-moving beasts as the smoke and fire cleared. They jammed adhesive-backed detpacks into the spaces between the walkers' armor plates and joints, then boosted themselves away before blowing the charges up, returning to the upper levels of the Garrison to join those Commandos conducting forced entry, who had already made their way inside. Relays left at the entrances shuffled their brethren inside, and clearing operations were initiated.

The Vong resistance was...epic. Amphistaffs crashed down against Katarn armor, spitting poison and cutting through weak points. Verpine rifles shot off their silent-firing rounds, piercing exposed skulls and faces, knives cut throats and hamstrung enemies. The Vong armor required a heavy reliance on explosives, of which the Commandos had plenty. Blast bugs traded places with grenades and back again, and hallways and corridors filled with smoke and flame. But all in all it was a quiet battle, as the Vong did not use loud, mechanical weapons, and those of the Republic were quiet by the nature of their design. It was a rare moment in war when the loudest things about the battle were the combatants themselves. At least the Yuuzhan Vong were, shouting their guttural war cries. The only sounds heard from the Commandos came when they found their helmets ripped off and their deaths delivered swiftly and painfully.
Quiet fighting was...creepier than loud fighting.

Below, at the canyon bottom, Republic Commandos immersed themselves in the ranks of the Sith, focusing their formations around the Garrison and forming a line that separated the bulk of the Sith force and the structure itself. 100 of them fought through fighting positions and around weapon emplacements, slaughtering Sith personnel wherever they were found breathing. One Commando boosted himself into the air and landed on top of one of the undamaged Tannhausers. He forced an adhesive-backed detpack into the horizontal space between the walker's main gun chassis and the body of the vehicle, then boosted away and blew the charge before landing amongst a squad of his comrades fighting through a Sith infantry fighting position.
The Commandos' personal shields protected them against a large amount of small arms fire, and soon they were filling the bottom of the canyon with Sith corpses. Common causes of death were Verpine shatter rounds, slit throats and knife wounds to other critical areas, incendiary grenades that coated a Sith soldier in fire that stuck to their armor and clothes and buried its way into their bodies. Of course the Republic wouldn't be without their casualties, once the Sith decided to mount a defense. From above, the Republic Commandos had begun filling the bottom of the canyon. If the Sith artillery fire continued tracking the Republic forces until they would be firing upon themselves as well.

Ali herself joined the of Gorinth Canyon, rushing and boosting her way through and over Sith and Vong alike. She cut down a pair of Sith troops with her Verpine assault rifle, then trounced a third that came rushing around a weapon emplacement to engage her. Several more fell to her knife, and more still to grenades and wrist rockets. At all times she maintained a healthy position within the ranks of her own Commandos, leading squad charges through emplacements and flanking operations around enemy positions. The Republic had pressed far enough into the Sith ranks that any artillery fire tracking their Commandos would have to fire upon their own forces.

The Vong forces that attacked their Commandos on the slopes were met with the resistance of 20 anti-air rockets that targeted the many Nulhrokka flitting about through the air. Unfortunately for the Vong, the Commandos were utilizing projectile weapons unaffected by their fancy anti-laser hairspray!
Even so, ten Commandos were snatched out of the air in the first few seconds of the attack, their limbs ripped from their bodies and their torsos demolished by the fierce jaws of the giant flies. Others were covered in flaming death, and while some with minor attacks thanks to their body suits and Katarn armor, those fully embroiled were dried out like gihaal and died.
As the attack progressed, the Commandos had to yield their outside positions on the slopes of the canyon. Within the first minute, the nearly 100 Republic Commandos on the slopes disappeared into the caves, their rear security units protecting the entrances as they began moving inward. If the Vong couldn't be fought in the open, they would have to be routed from the inside out.

As the Sith artillery began attacking the canyon slopes, the 6 MAT-TE's sheltered themselves by crawling into the various open cave entrances that littered the canyon, joining their fellow Commandos. Once inside, the teams began moving through the cave system, working to clear any resistence they met. 50 Commandos remaining outside on the various paths and slopes of the canyon reloaded their rocket launchers and focused their 50 rockets on a single AT-AW this time, one of the ones they'd previously targeted. 20 of their comrades enacted counter-sniping operations, and deaths began to climb on both sides. After engaging their targets, they too began their assault on the caves, where the Vong's crazy disgusting flying bugs would either not fit, or lose their flight advantage. Not that the fire they sprayed all about wasn't deadly enough.

The 8 A-10 LAAT Gunships shook under fire from their newly arrived Vong foes. With the entrance of the Yorek Vec to battle, the A-10's were distracted from their previous targets and maneuvered themselves away from the canyon, drawing the Vong vessels with them. Their front and rear heavy repeating cannons doubled as AA-weaponry with the speed and strength of their fire, hoping to distract the dovin basals of the coral vessels from the mass driven missiles loosed at those Yorik Vec that fell into their firing lines. Suddenly, this fight was about the sky and nothing but the sky.
Dovin basals grabbed at shields as their vessels drew close, though flame projectiles helped slow the damage to them as the energy absorbing systems in the Gunships' hulls converted the thermal energy into power.
Composite beam weapons turned on the Yorik Vec, which weren't as fast as their coralskipper counterparts. The nature of the beams could possibly cause a great strain on the dovin basals as the energy they were projecting was continuous rather than sporadic, and gravity wells would have to be sustained throughout the duration of the fire.

To counter the increase in enemy engagements, Republic transports in the upper atmosphere deployed 15 additional Gunships for attack, each carrying 25 Commandos. They joined the battle in the sky along with an escort of 2 K-wing squadrons to engage the Yorek Vec, loosing anti-starfighter missiles just behind their stutter-fired quad cannons. The Gunships swooped passed the canyon plateau and opened their side doors to disgorge their 375 Republic Commandos, who sought to engage the Vong forces responding to the Commandos already present there.

The 5 K-Wings that had previously been looping about in the distance to recharge their shields came soaring overhead, marking the Yorek Vec with their quad laser cannons, setting them to stutter fire in order to work around those pesky dovin basals. Stuttered fire was followed with pairs of missiles.
Their ground fire crewmen marked only targets that had been visually confirmed as active hostiles, thus avoiding wasting fire on these dummy targets the enemy had invented out of nowhere. 10 T-33 Plasma Torpedoes cut downward into the canyon targeting the AT-AW that was also under fire by 50 rocket launchers. 5 Conner nets were also deployed, aimed to be draped over 5 different exposed Tannhauser artillery cannons.

Hold!!!!!!!

The enemy were down roughly half of their front line infantry 50, with 70 total casualties now which was the only real saving grace here for the 769th, as thanks to Lusk's clever and brave use of his men, they had no armor left to stop them, slightly less numbers AND inferior training, but the 769th had by this point had a very long time to setup, digging further into the earth!

The ruse of the tie fighters disengaging had worked, as half of the tie fighters they were shooting at had already disengaged in wide arc, expecting to be the focus of the next volley (last post). The few that were left came in individually, the large volleys completely overwhelmed them even as they shot across the republic lines, but that took time because they were coming in solo, erratically at angles still. That left about 11 tie fighters out there, had they really withdrawn? You could probably guess the answer to that…

Fighting withdrawl and a surprise.

Ducking down in the trenches, “Remember Coruscant,” dirt flicked up off the ground across Kylath’s face as he clung below the trench line, “remember their butchery of your families, remember your honor, remember your pride and stand here as Sith.” The 769th were fresh off of Coruscant, taking more recruits from Balmorra's own, and the sacking of their homeworld fired them up at the mention. Kylath’s crimson saber ignited to show the symbol of the Sith, the boy acolyte deflecting a shot off to the side, his own Jedi killer squad standing ready.

Kylath genuinely cared, young into his training, he was proud, considering the troopers his friends still, his corruption far from complete. “Hold, let them come, or hold them here till the last of us, for our families, for their safety, and for the Sith, don’t let them see your fear, let them see your pride.” That was an Amadis speech if ever there was one, if only he could have known his brother once said the same to republic troops in a similar situation more than once.

THIS IS GNN here on the frontlines, watching your men and women, your families protecting their homes from republic aggression, now we go live to the front lines to get a first hand report. Biased much, you betcha! News footage showed huddled up men and women cradling their dead or dying in trenches undersiege from unseen aggressors, pounding away their position, what better footage could they want to broadcast for a recruiting drive or better yet propoganda? A wise man might realise that was the plan all along!

Those missiles had used a lot of ammo, hopefully they'd be running out soon and they’d charge, because down below the 769th were very well entrenched by this point. Mines in place at the front, thick liquid being poured into the forward trench behind that, the reserves pulled back yet another row, and continued the process of filling the next trench line with liquid too, taking the bulk of their remaining force further out of range of most small arms.

What was in that liquid exactly, that was worth costing men’s lives to ferry containers forward to fill the trenches? Hmm

All their heavier fire was still concentrated on the base of the canyon itself to bring the clones down in a landslides, creating drops and rubble, to make their approach should it come ever more hazardous. Metal wreckage was already being hauled forward from the AT-AT to provide cover. Its entire shattered husk useful to use for cover from the snipers, who still made the reserves pay with every man they found who showed too much of himself. Thankfully many were just keeping their heads down and sheltering now, their central trenches quite deep, that was something they could control, their fortifications below, and they were only making the central trenches deeper.

This slow withdrawing retreat and entrenchment however put the larger gun emplacement closer to the front lines, and with less cover, they tried to move them back but they were bulky and many were left where they were. “769th!!!!! Who are we???? Sith Homeguard! Sithguard!" Came the responses, and shouts, even while men and women sheltered. The clones were about to fight the homeguard, men and women defending their homes, the start of an organised militia who would spread, and today they’d fight above their ability, they’d give everything to not see more innocents suffer as the galactic alliance had so recently burned into their memories. When they’d turned their own turrets and weapons against them, orbital fire coming from a man fading from consciousness, sounded great, but an entire coruscant city district had been their casual collateral as he fell asleep, never again!

Summary of Actions:
  • Infantry pull back further out of smalls arms range.
  • Lost some tie fighters, rest out of range still.
  • All Sith armor dead.
  • Canyon still being hit by heavier weapons to cause landslides and more difficult terrain.
  • One Trench completely filled with liquid | Second being filled | Mines still there from start.
  • Central trenches dug deeper still.
  • GNN show up for future propaganda and plot reasons.

The battle raged all around them, explosions rumbling from every direction as grenades were thrown and crates of munitions were met with stray blaster shots and blossomed into firestorms that quickly began to coat the blood-slicked factory floor. Such things were an afterthought to the Sith Lord, his focus intent on the poor unfortunate soul who had become the object of his apprentice's ire. He didn't recognize the man, but then again there were plenty of people he didn't bother remembering even if they had run into him many times in the past. It was only those who had enraged him or caused him some sort of distress that he bothered to hold an unending grudge against. Still, if his apprentice really wanted to rip this guy from balls to brain who was he to deny him the pleasure? Rather he would provide a significant backup to the Togruta Sith should he required it.

But he was certain he wouldn't.

Then again, he was getting the crafty vibe off of this guy. And that was when he shot the weak point on the railway, causing the entire thing to come tumbling down into the fire-stained hell below. Vornskr propelled himself up and over the collapsing structure, deftly landing several meters away among a group of surprised Jedi Knights.

Long story short they were quickly dispatched by the overpowering Sith Lord, who quickly turned his attention back to where he last saw Kiyron. He had taken refuge behind a stack of crates, but poked his head out to pop off a couple of shots at the two Sith with his disintegrator pistol. Vornskr expertly deflected the shots aimed towards him, redirecting them into nearby Jedi or Republic soldiers. He then flung his lightsaber towards Kiyron, the weapon sinning end over end to slice through the air towards him like a reaping scythe.

The cacophony of sound could overwhelm the senses, if one let it. The artillery at her back continued to fire at the the imperial forces, although the the MAAT ships that had so duteously deposited the enemy troops at her feet were now bearing down on her. The AT-AW's shifted focus from establishing a perimeter to firing on the dropships. It was a move that Tilera could begrudgingly respect. Sacrificing their ride was sign to their men. Die on this field or make it your home. There was nothing but death or victory.

The MAAT's scattered her men as rocks and dirt erupted from hits on the AT-AW, throwing men to the ground, carbon scoring and a sheen of red sand marring their armor. Tilera ordered a regroup after every hit, thanking something that the dust kicked up from the ships and explosions would help disorient the gunners on the ships.

Without the perimeter firing, the expanse between the two armies opened up to advancement and Tilera's front lines crossed the open ground, 2 lines close together staggered just enough to keep the suppression fire going. The second line were given orders to let loose the grenades and as soon as they were within range of the front of the Republics.

The Sephi gritted her teeth, the taste of dust on her grey lips.

She was down a couple of the AT-AW from the MAAT runs but the garrison was still firing over her head, far better equipped to deal with the incoming gunships than she was. She ordered the walkers forward to close the distance to the enemy walkers before her men were in range of their field machines.

Meanwhile, her biker troops had flanked the enemy lines and made for a second pass on the advancing column, grenades tossed in their wake to drive the soldiers inward to a tighter group so that the AT-AW could be more effective once they were in range.

Summary:
  • Down 2 AT-AW.
  • Down 57 men. (Casualties will be subtracted from forces in the header of next post.)
  • Down 2 biker scouts from enemy fire.
  • Initially AT-AW switch to firing on MAAT, then break off fire after the MAAT pass.
  • Sith troopers are advancing.
  • The remaining AT-AW are advancing to close range to enemy walkers.
  • Sith bikers are running along the enemy column dropping grenades in their wake.
  • Arty & AA fire from garrison at MAAT.

Her movement, her dependence on her armor, it was enough to escape the plunge of the amphistaff. How sickening, he thought, to spend the time on the chase. He wanted the fight brought to him, he wanted her fists crushing against him and hearing that click clack of bone crunching of bone, just like on Kashyyyk. He just wanted the dance and what he was given was closer to a game of tag. A game he wasn't interested in playing. Nevertheless, with the anger of the amphistaff nearly overwhelming, he couldn't halt it's progression. Tearing through air and metal, he released the shaft with his left hand and kicked forward with his right foot. The teeth of the amphistaff cut through electrical cord and wiring, sending a high voltage of electricity through the extent of it's body. Falling down, it sizzled but was far from gone, merely an issue with cognizance. That was fine, he could call it back if he needed, rest would be welcomed and whispers of the future would build it's resolve once more. For the Shai domain, for the pain.

As his right foot hit the wall, his left pivoted to turn his body, his attention following the assailing woman over head. It was then that he noticed the ring on her belt, the assortment of grenades. She could run but she couldn't leave the presence of the force, no matter how her body had willed it. She was force dead, no doubt, as the voxyn had discerned and how difficult she was to interpret with the force, that made all the more sense. He had stumbled upon that conclusion early in this fight. But her armor, her weapons and her equipment, that was nearer enough to his influence. And like a surgeon saving his energy for the proper cut, he reached out as she moved away from him. The thermal detonator, something he recalled from his times as a mercenary and from the dead bodies that often littered the trail of his wake. They were unstable devices, highly volatile and destructive. And right now, they were positioned to rip the wings from this particular angel.

The bolt of the cage slid open, the clench of the teeth of the dog against the bars, biting and licking the blood from it's own carnivore sentiments. He would step away, leash broken and leaving frayed nylon and pieces of filament in the stead. It ran wild from his grip, snarling and frothing and unrelenting. With the speed that one predicates on the use of the force by a Master, it leaped as time seemed to slow to a drawl, maddening eyes of red following the contrails of the jetpack. Star speckled dust in an arch across the open interface of the large room, the woman left bread crumbs for this beast to follow. And where it would clench down would be a silver orb, menacing and tenacious, as it crawled deep inside, instigating a reaction. Not a timer, merely a destabilization, as an intimately aware warrior molested the unstable detonating elements within the grenade. A poignant reaction, a quick-draw pulling his gun from the holster, he let go just as he assumed igntion would occur, pushing off with his right foot and rolling, before running. Another set of rounds, though even as he sped from the way, he knew of the predicament of a shotgun in general.

Low velocity, more oomph, he needed to ensure clearance of the damage. As he moved, the slugs indented against the floor, punching through. Thankfully for the one that landed, it was merely a graze and not enough to detonate the full armor piercing capacity. The slug cut a hard trail of salt and embossed edge across the phrik armor before dinging the wall he left quickly behind. Sliding to a vertical column, he braced his back against the durasteel and breathed heavily. The expenditure of the force left him nearly breathless as he pulled Roecnar from his belt and ignited the second lightsaber. Orange and red, a tandem as he quickly anticipated the need for telekinetic lightsaber combat.

All the while, he wasn't fully aware of the presence of the Shadow of the Dark Lord nearby. And perhaps that was why she was such a useful tool to the Dark Lord, the quintessential needs for an assassin. To remain in the dark, even while standing in the light.

"What's your endgame?" Cyril managed as their blades clashed. He wasn't trying to throw her off anymore, the woman wasn't the type to be easily picked at. Had he known her a it better, he might have found a sweet spot, but that was, unfortunately, not the case. No, Cyril was curious. The Sith all had their deluded reasons for continuing this war. Some wished for glory; something he could understand. Others wanted to be on the winning side. That too, he could understand. Those that truly wished to live up to their titles as Sith Lords? They made no sense to him. A Sith's place was not to be content. Even after attaining the rank of master, and dedicating his life to this new path, Cyril still understood the truest reality of his previous calling.

That is why he asked. That is why he did not understand.

"Why are you fighting? I can understand glory, being on the winning side, something like that." he grimaced as the blades clashed once more. He needed to end this duel quickly. "I was a Sith Lord in the past. A true Sith Lord. I cut down my lord, and I could have taken the Dark Lord's seat. My mother taught me the error of such a path."

"But why do you, what I assume to be a Sith Lord in her prime, serve a master? All I've seen of your kind is mindless cruelty and complacency. You aren't Sith. You don't strive for power. You piggyback off the deeds of your cohorts, follow the orders of Vong infested animals. You have no code. No goals," he frowned, "What happens when the One Sith rules the galaxy? What then? Has it occurred to you that your Dark Lord will cast you aside once you've lost your use?"

He'd drawn himself back to speak the questions that lay in the back of his mind. Greta would find a moment's peace to recuperate.

"I want to know. Are you like your allies? Do you blindly serve their ambition, or are you more, Sith Lord?"

He spoke the words, and then he took to action. A hand stretched forward. His mind's eye went with it. Cyril had an intimate relationship with the force. He was one who mended the wounds of others; rebuilt living things with its power. With that same power, he could take things apart. He focused on the woman's weapon arm, the: the flesh, the muscle, the sinew, and then he went deeper into the very cells that made up the limb. Then he imagined a bubble in the middle, and made it expand.

It wasn't enough to make the woman's arm explode, as such a power could be applied, only enough to put her through a terrible pain. Cyril wanted to disarm her. He wanted her at his mercy -- most of all? He wanted to talk.

There was always the possibility he could fail. She might fight through it. She might move too quickly and take his arm off before he could finish the gruesome ritual. The world was ever changing, and no path was ever set in stone.

Major Janier watched as the gunships sped off to attack the artillery in the distance. The dust clouded his perspective but there was no missing the explosions in the distance as the lasers and missiles of the gunships went to work on the walkers. The relentless wall of fire that had once blocked the Imperial forces was now gone. Janier knew it was a temporary gift that would not last long. I was time to take advantage of the situration and pounce while he could.

"Advance!"

Janier yelled at the top of his lungs. The word passed down from trooper to trooper and the force jumped from their makeshift defenses and the cover from which they had been forced into and ran at the Sith position. The Recon speeders were the first to engage as their speed allowed them to close rapidly and bring their quad lasers to bare on the Sith. The slower walkers began to move forward increasing in speed as their servos churned and whined against the weight of their armored hulls. the behind them the burgundy clad storm troopers rushed in to gain as much ground before the relenting fire from the artillery returned. Bikes harassed the flanks of the imperial force using grenades and laser fire to limit the Imperials movement, That would not do.

"Lieutenant, Have our AT-AW, lay down suppression fire in the path of those speeder bikes. We need to suppress their flanking maneuvers. Have our quads concentrate on those advancing grenadiers. IF we can break their line we have a chance here."

The officer relayed the orders and the forces began to move and attack. The missiles from the AW walkers struck out at the plateau in a spread fire effect pattern to break up the speeder bikes advance. The quad lasers of the light vehicles lashed out at the Sith forces as they rocketed into engage them. Then as expected The barrage of fire slammed into the forces of the Galactic Empire as the artillery from the Sith walkers once again raining death on the plateau. IN the distance Lash could see the remaining MAAT gunships, now having spent their missiles bank up and into the sky headed for the Termagant. They had done their job now it was time for them to lick their wounds.

The fire form the artillery slammed into the ground now making the Imperial advance very difficult. Troopers bodies flew into the air as the barrage pounded the advancing Imperials. In the distance through the cloud of smoke and dust Janier could make out the Sith now running towards the Imperials Soon the battle would be locked and the forces of the Sith and Empire would fight for survival. It was a good day for battle thought Janier as he gave the order and ran out around the crashed transport.

"Give them hell! All forward!"
