A Dedicated Storyline!

Hi, there! While I'm still relatively new to the site, I'm already beginning to experience the frustrations of mingling drama, muse dynamics, and conflicting schedules - not all directly; I've managed to avoid most on my own, thankfully, but still it remains a noticeable hiccup in my intention to dedicate more active time and thought into my own character development alongside other writers. It's a reality we all face and it sucks, but I figured I'd take the initiative to look for people outright who are interested in sitting down with me and working out a long-term story which can be maintained through dedicated RP - tech and codex subs, new characters, crazy scenarios; name it, and I'm down for it.

I just want to attempt to establish a stable environment for me to work on a character, and I get no one has the perfect schedule; still, I think it's a good thing to build this off an established line of communication. I haven't been here for a month and still, I can recognize some people feel entitled to randomly vanish from threads without a word; I understand there are some cases where this can't be avoided, but with the private messaging system available here on the site, it's just coming off as rude and ultimately turning me away from the community in general, which I don't want - I like this place a lot. Even if it's a just a head's up the individual has lost interest, communication, especially in such a cooperatively-driven environment, strikes me as a key component; I don't know whether to hold it against the individual or to take it personally, I'm still very new.

I don't expect to earn sympathy, especially being as widely unknown as I am, and that's not what I'm trying achieve; I'm just hoping to find someone, through this advertisement, who feels similar - looking for partners in writing who are equally interested in finding mutually driven and resolute development for both themselves as a writer as well as their characters, outside of factions and larger, previously developed social circles. In a sense, just starting from scratch, with an idea we'd brew up and take off with, alongside whoever would be interested along for the ride. So if anyone's interested, feel free to let me know either here or via PM! :)

OOC Planning Thread: Escape from Purgatory

I'm completely down for a dedicated storyline. I'm attempting to somewhat do this, as, with a few others on this site, we recognize each others characters in every thread we work together in, referring back to previous threads with those characters. However, as you said, conflicting schedules often make some of these long storylines difficult.

I'm wanting my own character to experience more development, as there's still quite a lot for him to learn. He needs to make more credits, acquire better gear, maybe acquire a ship; but that's all difficult to accomplish when everything seems to jump around a lot.

Maybe it could all take place in a private post(s), with a designated post order. In all honesty, in some of these posts I've been a part of, I think it could be useful for things to run with tabletop Star Wars RPG rules. That's my opinion, and it could be hard to keep up with all of that in these forums.

Hope we can work out some good thread ideas soon!

I'm up for it; even though ICly I have huge backlogs for patients, I believe that it's not going to make for good RPing to solely focus on my therapeutical practice.

My alt [member="Charzon Loulan"] would pay each of the protagonists of the KDY heist (Jaster, Celiana and you) perhaps as many as a six-figure salary for that raid, with the Ringovindian government matching each mercenary contract salary on a 1:1 basis, if the mercenary contracts being matched directly targets Sith factions.

I'm glad to have so many people on board! Originally, I had planned to use a simple PM group to cover the basics, but since we've got so many interested parties, I'm going to go ahead and start an OOC thread so we can discuss and plan out our story together. ^.^ Expect it to be up soon, just have a few questions to answer and basics to cover first.

[member="Cathul Thuku"] So are you saying your character would act as a sort of financier? I get that your alt will be paying myself and the other mercs what their contracts are worth, with your government matching those funds as well, as long as it's against sith subsidiaries. However, I'm unsure if you meant that the same would hold true for those that take part in this thread, so long as we make plans against the sith.
