- AI Control: The tank is controlled by AI, there is no room for a pilot or a gunner. The AI is responsible for everything. And because it’s an AI, it can react much faster to any situation than a living thing ever would.
- Non-Lethal: This is a riot tank, a mass dispersal vehicle. That is, it has only non-lethal weapons. The Ion cannon is great against tanks, walkers and other vehicles. But it is also perfect against living creatures because of the Null-burst projector. The Null-burst projector can penetrate the walls of vehicles, buildings and the shot are able make incapacitated the victims for several hours if it hit them. Both modes cause "area of effect" damage.
- Defences: It is made of materials that make it extremely resistant to attacks, not to mention the fact that shields also surround the tank, and any other methods also help with defence.
- Fast and Agile: Compared to other light tanks, the Óvinnufær-class is much faster and easier to manoeuvre. As a result, they can also be used on narrower streets during city sieges. Last but not least, it can be a great complement and supporter of infantry.
- Stealth: Thanks to the Skuggalegt polymer layer, it is very difficult to detect these tanks until they start to open fire.
- Repair: Thanks to the Dral Kayatr thus the tank is able to repair itself.
- AI Control: The tank is controlled by AI, there is no room for a pilot or a gunner. The AI is responsible for everything, so if for some reason the AI breaks down or fails, the tank will not work either.
- No Cargo: It has no cargo, the whole tank is a massive "piece of metal". For this reason, no extra equipment, spare storage, or the like has no space in the vehicle.
- Terrain: Because the tank has only tracks and does not have a repulsorlift drive, meaning it can’t float/hover, it can’t travel on difficult places because the terrain won’t let it. It should also be mentioned that the manoeuvrability of the vehicle is not the best either, which makes the movement even more difficult. Not to mention the tank's weight is very heavy compared to the similar light tanks.
- EMP/Ion: Even though the tank has a high level of protection against such attacks, there is always a level of EMP / Ion attack that damages and destroys the vehicle and the AI which is controls it.
- Explosion: Basically, the vehicle is made of well-protected, resistant materials, but nothing is indestructible. Damage to the vehicle's cargo space (where the rockets are stored) or HAPU can result in a fatal explosion.
- Repair: Although the Dral Kayatr and thus the vehicle is able to regenerate, however it can easily get too much damage that this metal can no longer repair anymore. Because the metal can be damaged so that regeneration is no longer effective, not to mention the regeneration is a slow process, in battle this is useless.
In wars and other urban battles, non-lethal vehicles are underestimated, though they can be very useful. That’s why HPI was thinking about implementing a fairly unique and hybrid tank. They wanted a tank that was much smaller than the usual tanks - not much bigger than an average vehicle - but had powerful and useful weapons.
In the present case, strong weapons were more likely to be used in long-range and wide-range applications. They wanted to mix the usual ion cannons with a special weapon that could incapacitate those they hit with negative energy for hours. This was the Null-burst projector. The Null-burst projector is also great for use against larger crowds, not to mention the fact that the energy passes through vehicles or building walls.
The tank is fairly agile with average manoeuvrability. This riot-tank is perfect for use in war as an auxiliary vehicle or a vehicle deployed in the first wave to clear the terrain for the second wave. The tank is controlled by a drone, or artificial intelligence, which is capable of much faster reactions than a living pilot and is also capable of analysing various situations much faster. Last but not least, don’t have to worry about human loss either.
The tank has great physical and other protection, which makes it really great even in the first wave or fighting in the front row. Or it can be used perfectly in mass dispersion if the government or authority in question does not really want to hurt the citizens or the masses.
Overall, HPI has built a non-lethal tank that can be used in many different areas and deployed against different targets. After all, such unique vehicles are also needed in combat. It can surprise the enemy perfectly.
