Description: The MAFFCAW is a specialized weapon designed for use against energy-resistant hard targets. It uses a ferro-carbonite solution to project a high-pressure jet of the cooled fluid through a barrel at mass-accelerator speeds using a series of magnetic coils and chambers. The resulting projectile applies akin to a composite beam, where the speed and pressure keeps the fluid from evaporating and desublimating for long enough to impact the target. When the fluid jet strikes a surface (or runs its effective course), it disperses into a thick mist that coats the target area and rapidly begins to harden, conglomerating solid matter on and super-cooling an impacted surface. Liquefaction caused by the kinetic energy of the ferrous particles propelling this fluid have a narrow but high penetrative value. The combination of these two effects allows heavy energy-resistant plating (such as Beskar, Pyronium and Adamithium) to be ablated by repeated grappling and displacement of its matter. It may also be used to "gunk up" various components, such as exhausts and turret tracks.
It is important to note that these effects are only considered as they are in the vacuum of space; if it were to fire in-atmosphere, the effect of displacement and liquefaction of surface matter would still apply but not sublimation or carbon-freezing (essentially creating perforation of the armor and damage to directly underlying components, if any, with no loss of structural integrity except if/where explosive decompression is involved (i.e. canopy glass, tanks, etc.)); if in the presence of an extreme cold (i.e. Hoth), the fluid would begin to freeze early, surface tension and potential drag causing it to distribute its kinetic energy across a broader impact surface, rendering it ineffective and and potentially even to miss the target completely depending on range/temp/pressure extremes.
The MAFFCAW loses more of its "edge" the softer the target is, as softer metals and materials deform under pressure, buffering impact force. For instance, an alusteel plate would split and bend, leaving a breach, whereas a piece of matrix armour would resist, chipping and cracking under pressure.
