- Advanced Sensor and ECCM Suite: Being highly specialized as a SAWACS vessel, the Argus has extremely powerful long-range sensors of various types across the visible and invisible light spectrums, audio and radar frequencies, radiation emissions, and even gravitonic sensors designed to allow it to fight a lot of ECM countermeasures and determine the accurate locations and dispositions of enemy vessels, vehicles, and infantry at exceptionally long range, preferably out of the range of its opponent's sensors, along with powerful and efficient computers to collate and make sense of the collected data. It is even capable of detecting vessels utilizing most forms of stealth technology, albeit at shorter ranges and with more difficulty depending on the type utilized.

- Upgraded to be Stealthy: Thanks to the addition of HPI technology, the ARGUS can now safely remain cloaked while fulfilling its role as a sensor and battlefield coordination vessel.
- No Offensive Capabilities: It is a sensor/recon/command and control craft, it is not designed for offensive roles and thus has no weaponry, just strong armor, shields, and excellent speed and manueverability.
- Limited Production: Like the other Zephyr variants, these are expensive ships limited to the Zephyr specifically, these are for a specific squadron.
As with many of the other Zephyr variants coming out of Aculia's move into mercenary work and downsizing, the Black Argus has been extensively upgraded and customized for its role relative to its former models, sporting new stealth capabilities thanks to HPI and removing the chief weakness of the defensive systems of the regular model-it now has extra reinforced armor and shielding. It has, however, not seen a shift in its role-it is still ultimately a swift, customized command and control and recon vessel designed to help battlefield coordination, even more important with the smaller forces available to her. It can, however, be used in a pinch for courier work, (small-scale) smuggling, or as an escape vessel thanks to its defenses, stealth, speed, and maneuverability and excellent hyperdrive engine.
