OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a heavy air/space stealth bomber for when fighter-bombers and attack craft are not enough to do the job/capital ships are too imprecise or can't be used.
  • Image Source: Here you go.
  • Canon Link: N/A.
  • Permissions: Here and Here, for HPI.
  • Primary Source: N/A.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
STANDARD FEATURES
  • All standard, military-grade bomber features.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Remote Detonation: The Black Owl is capable of remotely detonating its ordnance to force glancing damage in the event of likely interception or to deny certain approach vectors to enemies.
  • Ósýnilegt-class Cloaking Device
  • VTOL/Hovering Capable.
STRENGTHS
  • Sudden Death From Above: The Black Owl carries a huge amount of ordnance relative to its size, called in for destroying the heaviest targets in space or in atmosphere that a craft of its class can manage. Combined with the unmatched stealth technology from HPI that allows it to get very close to its target before unleashing its payload without detection, enemies should rightly fear the owl that strikes them without warning.
WEAKNESSES
  • Limited Production: Due to the cost of the ship thanks to its new stealth technology and defensive upgrades, only about one squadron of these can be produced and fielded.
DESCRIPTION

An actually new invention from Voland Military Enterprises during the collapse of the Elysium Empire to suit Aculia's needs, the Black Owl is a heavy stealth bomber with excellent armament, decent speed, maneuverability, and defenses, and a good squadron size called in when the lighter fighters and ground attack craft cannot handle the threat presented and the Zephyr is unable to safely engage the opponent, such as going up against larger capital ships or extensive anti-capital ship ground fortifications or defenses. It boasts a powerful array of weaponry that can be customized to each mission along with HPI stealth technology that allows it to get in comparatively close without detection before unleashing its payload, then cloaking again to return to rearm and launch again if necessary. It is also capable of holding its own in a defensive firefight against your average galactic fighter or interceptor, although this is not its intended role and a waste of its stealth capabilities so it is not advised. It would be something that the galaxy itself should fear-were it not for the expensive cost and maintenance that ultimately limits it to a single squadron.
