- Intent: The purpose of this submission is threefold. Primarily, it is to expand upon what is accepted as site lore in terms of how planets destroyed in canon were restored. The secondary purpose is to provide the Confederacy of Independent Systems with a Fortress World to act as the headquarters of its armed forces. Zenith Prime is a wholly militaristic world and, as such, the culture of its residents is a reflection of this. The vast majority of the world's population are military personnel, their families, and a phenomenal sum of droids that assist in training and day-to-day operations. Preparing for the worst case scenario is the central ideal in the minds of the people of Zenith Prime, thereby leading to constant training by the military personnel; in addition to research and development by its scientific staff. These aside, there are strains of Mandalorian and Templar influence within the popolous. Mandalorian culture, through the 117th Clone Legion, has filtered into the ranks of the People's Army of the Confederacy; thereby leading to many abiding by certain tenets of the Resol'nare. On another hand, the presence of Templars alongside personnel has sparked the spread of the moral values found within the Order.
All in all, the culture of Zenith Prime is inherently good and characterized by moral character, integrity, loyalty, and a strict adherence to the chain of command.
TECHNOLOGY
Zenith Prime enjoys and above-average level of technological advancement in comparison to the norm across the Galaxy. This is due to the fact that it is the headquarters of the Confederacy of Independent Systems' armed forces. Therefore, the apex of armaments, countermeasures, and general technology are imported to the world on a regular basis. One of the most striking innovations that characterizes Zenith Prime is the presence of numerous space elevators. Through these, military personnel might quickly board/disembark capital ships without the need of intermediary transports. The surface of the planet is, quite literally, saturated with cannons and batteries. Defensive emplacements of numerous types, such as anti-aircraft, point-defense, quad laser, or flak, are common place throughout the environment. What's more, Zenith Prime houses a durable, planetary shield system in addition to numerous defensive satellites in orbit.
HISTORY
In the years approaching 424 ABY, the Yuuzhan Vong began to augment their terraforming capabilities. The aim was to restore worlds that were destroyed over the millennia; and thereby undo several thousand years of war and strife. To this end, the Vong ventured to the far reaches of the Galaxy in order to test and develop this advanced technology and selected the Ferse'dra Asteroid Belt as the canvas upon which to paint their masterpiece. The first step in this ambitious project was taken in the form of creating an artificial world from scratch. Through the implementation of Dovin Basals to form the planet out of asteroids, then introducing the advanced, terraforming method, a new world was created. Its location was then moved to just beyond the Asteroids from which it was born, to the nearest star known as Zen.
From this stage, the Yuuzhan Vong began to push the limits of this technology; electing to form a wide variety of biomes upon their new creation. Unlike naturally-occurring worlds, these biomes were massive and each took up several hundred kilometers of the planet's surface. All in all, the planet was divided into six major biomes, each of equivalent size; and each different from one another. The final steps in this testing process revolved around the introduction of species to this world, in addition to laying the foundation for minerals and resources to naturally-occur upon its surface. To this end, the Vong introduced a variety of indigenous beasts to the world, such as Krayt Dragons, and noted their successful adaptation to that which they wrought.
Reveling in their success, the Yuuzhan Vong dubbed the world Zenith Prime and then began to reform the worlds destroyed over the course of Galactic History. Of course, in the year 425 ABY, this success was dwarfed by the introduction of the Gulag Plague into the Galaxy and the beginning of the Four Hundred Year Darkness. Zenith Prime's very existence became forgotten as the Galactic crisis took place; and it was only in the modern era that the world was discovered by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Seeing the raw potential for a world located so close to its capital, the budding nation committed a portion of its total resources to the conversion of the planet into a viable fortress world. Technologies and armaments of numerous varieties were sent to the world and it soon grew into the military capital of the CIS.
In fact, the so-called "Home Fleet" became centered around Zenith Prime, for it was literally a stone's throw away from the capital and could respond to a threat against Bothawui in minutes!
At present, Zenith Prime remains the militant heart of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. It is a place of advanced training for soldiers. It is a place of research and development for the betterment of the People's Army. It is, simply put, the factory that produces the finest soldiers in the Galaxy.
