Tripitaka was born to the Northern Lord Shuzui Sato at least on paper. Her parentage is considered lost but the man claiming to be her father does swear that she is his and that of another woman.... a commander in his house guards in point of fact who could never be found to confirm and to the chargin of the lady of the house.... but instead of hating her the lady expected her to serve loyally almost like a dog on a leash and protect them. She wasn't cruel but any affection given had to be clawed for and it made Tripitaka appear much colder to the others in the household until her sister was born. Twins a girl and a boy whom she was charged with protect at the age of seven and not knowing what to do tragedy struck with her half brother that pushed her over the edge.
No one knows what happened but after that she became more than highly protective of Jubei and two years later when Jiyoung was born she did much the same. IN time though Tripitaka while often seen as their shadow growing up was accepted by them. The sisters welcomed her, loved her and often times tried to include her in family things much to their mothers chargin and dislike. That their father was usually secluded in the Northern fortress and away for long periods of time did not help as their mother would always complain that he was going to bring another child home from whoever Tripitaka's mother was. The sisters later learning and being asked to keep it a secret that the Stormcloud General their fathers most trusted advisor was her mother through accident.
The years for the sisters were simple enough, they fought and defended the north with the one sith and later followers of Mythos there on the world. As Atrisia worked to repel them they all fought, with the younger sisters largely being in the fortress with their mother and some of the others. Jiyoung learning when their fathers general came to bring protection and their mother flew into a rage casting the woman out and declaring that she and her soldiers were not welcomed. Neither of the sisters understood what was going on and later that night in a drunken rage their mother revealed it while arguing with the northern lord who was hosting the Empress of Rice Wine and Emperor of the Golden Flowers before they ascended to the thrones. Tripitaka just as surprised when it was revealed to her by the young Jiyoung.
With the final battle of the war and death of the Emperor Genji, the three sisters were able to see a moment of peace as politics left the north and the two friends of the emperor went. The Stormcloud general going with them at the demands of their mother. Their father returning to Ezogashima to stand at the ready. The sisters remained there as several years passed and eventually they were visited by the princess of Atrisia Junko. The News of

being named the heir to the emperor and empress in the wake of their children being killed in the war. Jubei was enamored with the princesses and the chance of well... adventure. She snuck away dragging Tripitaka with her and leaving the younger Jiyoung behind as she wasn't able to get out to follow after them and for choosing to leave with their half sister their mother disowned Jubei.
The two went with Junko down into Chitai and eventually joined her as handmaidens in the royal palace since Jubei didn't have a home anymore and Tripitaka was always considered lesser then it was a new home for them. The year between them going with Junko and Jiyoung joining them saw the youngest of the sisters ascending to being the heir of the family and she used that with her father to get away from her mother. Going to the capital to learn and study so she could be the best and much like he and the now emperor were friends she would befriend the prince and princess. Her father agreed, his neglect and losing nearly everyone in his life saw a great pain so to keep at least one he let her go to the capital where she joined Junko's handmaidens to be with her sisters and the princess.

- Description: Children of the Northern Lord of Atrisia, he is rarely seen outside the fortress city, but his family is maintained in one of the lower palaces. His wife maintaining the house and receiving his orders through holograms and a few times him coming in person. At one point bringing a daughter after she failed to father a child for years and staying with her almost a decade later we had had three children with him. One dying young and the other two doted upon, while their older sister was hated by the mother and treated as a tool and servant who would be conditioned to always protect them. The two younger sisters coming to love her despite protestations of their mother and the three would be together for a time until two of them went with the princess and the youngest following a year later.

- Description: Officially the first child of the Lord Sato and surviving twin. Jubei is kind-hearted and to outward appearances she is almost like a doll looking the part of perfection. While among the handmaidens and her own family she is just the more studious one. Her biggest rebellion, wanting to travel with Junko and dragging Tripitaka and eventually their sister with them as she was disowned by their father for leaving. She deeply cares about her sister and always cared for her bodyguard even more so when she learned that she was their half-sister as she was to her always family despite their mothers attitude.

Jiyoung is kind and overly compassionate to a degree the others aren't and often tries to include her bodyguard in her activities (not knowing she was her sister until later) Which drew their father attention when he would visit and after her sister secretly left with Junko against his wishes Jiyoung worked for a year to convince him she should be allowed to follow to add to her education.
