Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Kaeshana
It was the same story as before. An exodus from Nathema to another world, another place for Onrai's legions to call home. And yet, in this instance, there was not a dedicated route to flee for the larger vessels as there had been for Demonsgate - no, this was a less military matter. The primarily civilian contingent of Nathema's agricultural facilities were being aggressively migrated in the face of inevitable occupation. While the idea of waging guerrilla war against the Ashlans' inevitable incursion grew strongly on the false goddess's mind, she reasoned that such an insurgency would eventually be defeated. Thus, the easiest option was to take the population of Nathema and bring them to Kiross, their new homeworld to be reforged.
Of course, simply traveling there was not an easy option. There was a tremendous amount of hostile space between Nathema and the safety of the Maw. Such was why Kaeshana at present was the intended location for her next rift, a tear in the fabric of reality that would allow her followers to enter otherspace and, from there, move to one of the sparsely occupied worlds within fluidic space such that they could return to realspace at Kiross itself.
The technique was not something to be simple, and countless repurposed civilian vessels, primarily water transports and old Resolute supercarriers refitted for bulk passenger duty, waited in orbit of the planet while their leader traveled on a raft towards a tiny speck of land, an islet in the great sea within the continents.
Of course, it was never that easy.
