OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • | Intent | To create an alternative to Tibanna Gas using Yossubi venom to be used for fighting Force Sensitives.
  • | Image Source | Source
  • | Permissions | N/A
  • | Primary Source | Tibanna / Yossuban

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • | Manufacturer | ApexTech Industries
  • | Affiliation | Closed-Market
  • | Model | N/A
  • | Modularity |
    • | Cartridge | Yossubi Gas can be loaded into any size cartridge for essentially any type of blaster.
  • | Production | Limited
  • | Material |

PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • | Classification | Blaster Gas
  • | Weight | Weightless
  • | Color | Dark Orange
  • | Method of Consumption | N/A - Hazardous to consume/inhale normally.
  • | Average Life |
    • | Full Potency | 1 Year
      • Potency degrades by roughly 10% every month after a year before becoming inert.
  • | Nutritional Value |
    • It is not recommended that Yossubi Gas be ingested, as it can be quite an unpredictable substance on internal organs. Individuals in the Outer Rim claim that it can be used as a powerful hallucinogenic that can be smoked by compressing the gas into a liquid form and then smoking it via a vaporizer.
  • | Allergies |
    • There are no cases of individuals exhibiting any sort of reaction to Yossubi Gas outside of what it is intended to do.
  • | Side Effects |
    • Yossubi Gas has some hallucinogenic properties to it, though under normal circumstances being hit with a shot that was fired using Yossubi Gas often does not apply such effects. It is, however, quite noticeable by species with a very keen sense of smell, as they will often catch a whiff of it in the air after it's been fired.
  • | Purpose |
    • Yossubi Gas was produced as an effective means of combating Force Users by the average person. It is effective in neutralizing Force Sensitives as blaster shots cannot be blocked, stopped or redirected by the Force. It serves a twofold purpose by protecting the user from being interacted with via the Force and also disrupting a hostile Force User's usage of it.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Yossuban Venom
  • Force Null Properties

STRENGTHS
  • | Force? No Problem | Blasters that fire using Yossubi Gas fire bolts that are innately Force Dead. These blaster bolts cannot be manipulated/blocked using the Force (ie via Telekinesis). Yossubi Blaster shots are also extremely effective against Force Users that utilize Force activated lightsabers; the reason being that individuals hit with a Yossubi Blaster shot can have their connection to the Force disrupted. The innate properties of Yossubi Venom are present in gaseous form and act in a similar fashion to tear gas in the sense that it disrupts their ability to use the Force effectively and breaks concentration.
  • | Innate Force Null Bubble | A passive benefit of carrying around Yossubi Gas is that having several cartridges essentially creates a big enough bubble around an individual to protect them from the Force due to the properties of Yossubi Venom in a similar fashion to Yslamiri.
WEAKNESSES
  • | This'll Sting...A Lot | Unlike most standard blasters, Yossubi Gas shots cannot kill their target under normal circumstances. The only exception to this is if a target is shot at point-blank range or shot several times from extremely short-range from roughly two meters away. At range, Yossubi shots are essentially just mediocre stun rounds; a majority of the time they won't even be able to render the target unconscious with a single hit unless they are shot in the face - However, it'll still feel like getting hit by a brick or being punched with a bunch of nails.
  • | Gas to Shot Ratio | Due to the nature of Yossubi Gas, the gas to shot ratio is heavily imbalanced. It would take nearly twice as much Yossubi Gas to fire the same amount of shots that a traditional Tibanna Gas cartridge would be able to provide.

DESCRIPTION

Yossubi Gas was developed as an alternative to the standard Tibanna a vast majority of blasters throughout the galaxy use, specifically designed to level the playing field with the rampant number of Force Sensitive individuals present and either using or abusing their connection to the Force to gain the upper hand to your average person. The process of harvesting Yossubi Venom is quite hazardous, but the benefits of doing so as well as the copious amounts of research and development that went into weaponizing it into blaster usable form.
Thus Yossubi Gas was developed, vaporizing the venom into a gaseous form, and mixing it with several other synthesized gas compounds allowed for a similar effect as Tibanna to be achieved. While the lethality of blaster bolts produced using Tibanna gas could not be replicated, the intended effect of being able to neutralize one's use of the Force while being protected from being manipulated by the Force was achieved through 'perfectly legal and humane' means of testing to confirm such results. Testing has shown that individuals struck by Yossubi Gas blaster bolts have their ability to use the Force heavily inhibited for roughly a minute from just a single shot striking them.
Yossubi Gas, like in its venom form, innately produces a Force Null field around it which also applies to the blaster bolt that is fired using it. These blaster bolts are incapable of being stopped, reflected or otherwise interacted with the Force, and are capable of shutting down Force activated lightsabers that Force Users might wield if they strike the blade. This also doubles as protection to the individual firing it as the cartridges project a Force Nullification field, just large enough to cover the user, protecting them from being reached out to by and interacted with via the Force. Yossubi Gas blaster shots produce a distinctly orange blaster bolt.

I am going to ask you to reduce the production of this to Limited. Here is why.

Other technologies that can inhibit the force in the most recent iteration of the factory have been stipulated to Semi-unique. This is mostly due to the restriction of Force-related objects, as well as Voidstone.

Secondly, the availability of the venom from your Yossuban species is limited to one planet. Meaning production of this as a "minor" rating is not feasible. You even mention that "Farming" these creatures is difficult due to their nature. As well as having to rely on Non-Force Sensitive people to perform such captures as Force Users wouldn't be able to do much better.

Finally, due to the blaster that uses this gas requiring double the amount compared to other gas fuels, as well as being nothing more than a "Stun bolt" in your typical usage of the round, I am not asking for it to be Semi-unique.

Otherwise, I see this as a very thought out, and processed submission that is well work its weight and capacity to be viable to anyone that is given approval to use. It is an interesting take on Anti-Force technologies.

Production has been lowered to Limited as requested. Also, a point of clarification; Youssbi are not restricted to a single world. Sojourn is merely where they were first discovered as their point of origin and has since spread. I mentioned 'taming' Yossuban was impossible, but farming them for venom would be about as hazardous as a person who farms venom from snakes in real life and can be done if you know the correct way of handling them. Except those snakes are man-sized spiders with the claws and strength of a tiger or lion.
