GENERAL INFORMATION
  • | Name | Yossuban [ Singular ] / Yossubi [ Plural ]
  • | Designation | Non-Sentient
  • | Origins |
  • | Average Lifespan |
    • | Queen Life Span | 1000 GSY
    • | Drone Life Span | 100 GSY
  • | Estimated Population | Planetary
  • | Description |
    • Yossubi are large insect-like creatures with claws capable of rending flesh and flaying muscle from bones at the ends of each of their legs and sensitive hairs all over their body that react to vibrations in the air allowing them to locate live prey. Yossubi are characterized at a glance by their ashy grey colors with grey hairs, allowing them to blend into dark environments like caves or hollowed-out trees. They are clearly predatory creatures in nature based on their sharp claws and teeth.
Yossubi possess an odd number of eyes, usually being five or seven that are yellow in color. Yossubi are color blind and as a result everything is seen in black and white to them, however, their eyes are capable of discerning Midichlorians that appear as a bright red to them. This makes it exceptionally difficult to escape their sight in addition to their usage of vibrations in the air that they use to detect any Force Dead or low Midichlorian count entities.
Yossubi are also a very loud species in the sense that their chittering can be heard long before one sees them. The chittering noise they produce acts on an ultrasonic frequency that affects certain regions of other organisms' brains resulting in the sound seeming to come from all directions at once to conceal the Yossuban's true location. Unless an individual is making direct eye contact with a Yossuban, chances are they'll never know where they are hiding or going to pounce from. Extended exposure to Yossubi chitterings have driven some people insane or induced hallucinogenic effects.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • | Breathes | Type I & II
  • | Average Height of Adults |
    • | Queen | Fifteen Meters
    • | Drone | Four Meters
  • | Average Length of Adults |
    • | Queen | Seven Meters
    • | Drone | Two Meters
  • | Skin Color | Ash Gray
  • | Hair Color | Gray
  • | Distinctions |
    • Yossubi Drones typically look indistinguishable from one another, with slight variations in their skin color to match their environment (They will appear much more white in color to match arctic environments or beige to blend in with sandier ones). The only clear distinction within the species, however, is their Queen, who are not only much larger but also albino in color as they never leave the very depths of their hives buried deep underground.
  • | Races |
    • | Queen | Every Yossuban population revolves around a Queen, that is distinctly larger than the Drones in its Hive. Captured prey are often brought to the Queen first as offering before the Drones receive and feed off the scraps left over. Queens are able to produce Drones on their own simply by feasting off of prey.
    • | Drone | Like a worker ant, Yossubi Drones are much smaller in comparison to the Queen and act solely to ensure the safety of the Queen. The 'hive' typically consists of several hundred Yossubi Drones serving a single Queen. In the absence of a Queen or hive, Drones can 'evolve' into a Queen by obtaining enough nourishment to necessitate the evolution.
  • | Force Sensitivity | Non-Sensitive

Strengths |
  • | Force Hunters | Yossubi are deadly Force Hunters as Midichlorians are like an opulent source of food to them. They are naturally drawn to the presence of Midichlorians; the stronger the Force Sensitive, the more voracious they become. Their eyes are capable of discerning Midichlorians the same way thermal vision detects heat. The venom that courses through their entire body gives them a Force Nullification bubble similar to that produced by Ysalamir. A small jar of Yossuban venom can produce a Force Nullification bubble large enough to encompass a small vehicle (roughly 4-5 meters). This venom applies a powerful numbness to prey when it makes contact with skin or is injected into the bloodstream.
  • | Iron Webbing | Yossubi being arachnid in nature produce a powerful form of webbing from their abdomen - which can also be shot at high velocities. It has an impressive tensile strength that can ensnare full-grown adults of most other species in an iron grip. Getting caught in such webbing almost ensures their demise.
Weaknesses |
  • | Feral | Yossubi are extremely feral creatures and become even more so when separated from their Queen and Hive for an extended period of time. They are impossible to tame by means of Light or Dark side Force powers/influences even as hatchlings that may have been abducted from their incubation caves. Attempting to tame Yossubi often results in a very painful and agonizing death.
  • | Element of Surprise | Yossubi typically capitalize on the element of surprise when hunting prey. Their use of high frequency sounds to disorient prey and conceal their location as well as their powerful webbing means that they typically hold the advantage when on their home turf. They become exponentially less of a threat when outside their element and typically will lose in fights against other predators.
  • | Ultra High Frequency | Though they produce an ultrasonic frequency of their own to disorient prey, they are particularly vulnerable to a very specific ultrasonic frequency. Conveniently, most modern Galactic sonic weaponry/grenades hit the frequency that Yossubi are vulnerable to. They are often dazed or paralyzed for an extended period of time when exposed to these frequencies.

CULTURE
  • | Diet | Carnivorous
  • | Communication |
    • Yossubi communicate through audible chittering noises when in close proximity to one another, though they are capable of long-range communication by sending vibrations through their webbing. They communicate in a manner that is impossible for translator programs to decipher. The Queen has a telepathic link with all of its Drones and is able to communicate with them from long distances.
  • | Technology Level |
    • Yossubi do not possess any form of technology. They are a primitive species. The most advanced aspect of Yossubi is their webs which function as a long-distance communication system based on the vibrations Yossubi feels through them, communicating with distant colonies or determining if prey has stumbled into them.
  • | Religion/Beliefs |
    • Yossubi do not have or follow a religion. They act and behave on feral instincts that revolve around the Queen.
  • | General Behavior |
    • Yossubi are incredibly hostile and territorial creatures that focus around a hive-like populace. They generally hunt in groups when they detect something ensnared in their webs though occasionally lone Yossubans will venture away from the Hive in order to seek potential locations to establish new webs. Yossubi in groups seem to react as a singular entity; if one becomes frenzied, all of them do and act together like cogs in a machine.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Yossubi are an ancient species that were first discovered on Sojourn but have also been reported in remote locations across the Galaxy on planets usually not heavily inhabited by sentient life forms. Yossubi are a subterranean species that prefer to live under the surface, carving out complex and maze-like tunnels underneath the surface similar to that of ants. These tunnels are perilous in nature and filled with the powerful webbings that Yossubi produce, resulting in a guaranteed death if one were to stumble upon them by accident. Some Yossubi do inhabit the surface, but they are rare and often scouts searching for new locations to set up webs in order to capture prey.
Yossubi are something of a pest as well. Ever since they were discovered and attempts were made to isolate and study them resulted in their spread across the Galaxy. It has been found in Yossuban biology that a single Yossuban Drone separated from its Hive and Queen go into their own evolutionary process in an attempt to continue its species, allowing the Drone to evolve into a Queen if it acquires enough sustenance, which subsequently allows it to produce more Drones and then its own Hive. This has resulted in Yossubi spreading across the Galaxy as individuals attempt to sell them on the blackmarket or study them in heavily guarded facilities.

The other notable discovery found within Yossubi biology by researchers is the Force Null property their venom contains. Similar to the property of Ysalamir, Yossubi venom seems to be an evolutionary trait that was developed to neutralize Force-Sensitive individuals, making them easier to kill prey and consume. Yossubi venom can last for roughly over a month once it is extracted from the Yossuban itself. Yossubi are drawn to Midichlorians like bees are to flowers and feast off of the living Force.

Ok Fidavar Norn Fidavar Norn . This looks cool, but there are some things.

This creature seems quite strong, so I'd suggest adding a drawback directly relating to the Force Nulling venom. It may also be a good idea to make a consumable app for the Yossuban venom before it's used in a pvp RP, and perhaps give it a shelf life. As it stands, the venom is extremely powerful overall.

I'm not quite sure how you want me to go about adding a drawback relevant to the Force Nulling venom as it is modeled after Ysalamir almost entirely 1:1. The ratio of venom to size is still roughly the same, the idea is that it's a lot more portable than carrying around a whole Ysalamir in a nutrient cage. If you could further elaborate on what you would consider as acceptable, I would appreciate it.

One way would be to give a hard number, as small vehicle can be quite subjective. But I had already mentioned a possible drawback in storing the venom by giving it a shelf life. Right now there’s just no limit to how long this venom could last.

That would be something left to a Factory Submission, but I've added in the description that it lasts for roughly a month (The real-life equivalent for most venoms as far as shelf life goes). Also clarified that the venom's Force Null field is roughly 4-5 meters.

Ok. I can go ahead and approve this, but the sub is still highly open to being reported as is. This isn't just a factory problem when it's inherent to a species, and right now this single species is still extremely powerful with the venom taken into account. Star Wars doesn't heavily rely on real science, so just cause it's "how it works" that's not an excuse for anything. Right now the weaknesses to the Force Nulling venom aren't on par with those of the Ysalamir, which is why its so open to being reported as is. However, like I said, it can be approved now, but you should know the risk.

I am well aware and any submission or threads regarding these will be taken into consideration, though far worse has gotten through the Factory with even less science or justification behind it. The idea is meant for it to be a dangerous species to Force Sensitives like Terentateks were.

Factory and Codex don’t work on precedent, so even if more powerful things have made it through the Factory at times, it won’t add weight to other subs unless they’re directly linked. We have to judge on every possibility, not just on the intent. Again, it technically can be approved now, but there’s a high likelihood that it will be reported as it is now.
