- Wookiee Sized: This armor is one of the few armor sets that was designed specifically to be worn by Wookiees, as it accounts for their size and physiology.
- Moisture Resistant: As most Wookiees have a natural abundance of body fur, Wookiee Trooper Armor is specifically designed to keep Wookiees dry, repelling moisture with its Armorweave Poncho and Wide Brimmed Rain Helmet.
- Storage: Being such strong creatures, Wookiees are capable of carrying heavy loads with ease, as is evident by the large backpacks designed for the armor.
- Intimidating: Wookiees are intimidating creatures normally-their Wookiee Trooper Armor only adds to this sense of intimidation.
- Ineffective Armor: As most Wookiee Trooper Armor is made primarily from Armorweave, it is far less effective than standard Stormtrooper Armor, especially against blaster fire.
- Helmet Masks: To actually fit a Wookiee into a Stormtrooper Helmet, the Imperial Remnant has modified the helmets by turning them into masks. This has caused the Stormtrooper Helmets to lose much of the functionality that non-modified Stormtrooper Helmets come with.
- Wookiee only: This highly specialized set of armor can really only be worn by Wookiees, as it will not fit most other species.
During the reign of the Galactic Empire on Mahporeem, large numbers of Wookiees were brought to planet as slave laborers, forced to work in the junkyards and ship breaking yards of the planet.
With the Empire's fall, and abolition of slavery on Mahporeem, many formerly enslaved Wookiees chose to join the newly liberalized Stormtrooper Corps, becoming the first Wookiee Troopers of the Imperial Remnant. Short of soldiers and recognizing the fierce warrior culture of the Wookiees, the Imperial Remnant organized them into elite shock troopers.
Making a set of recognizable Stormtrooper Armor for a Wookiee proved challenging, but the resulting armor set was certainly able to convey the Imperial affiliation of their users. While not particularly protective, Wookiee Trooper Armor does at least ensure that its wearers will remain dry in even the harshest of downpours, though other environmental hazards will chew through the armor with ease.
