SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Force Defender: The ring, infused with the ability known as Force Resistance, protects Ro-Tahn from Force based attacks. Without having to exhaust his own Force energy, the ring automatically activates upon the presence of a Force based attack by creating an aura around him. It's most effective against physical Force based attacks and attacks directed at his own Force energy.
  • Force Energy Siphon: The ring has been alchemized with the Force Drain ability. However, it doesn't exactly drain Force energy directly from an individual. Instead, it siphons 35% of any Force energy directed at Ro-Tahn, transferring that energy to him; slightly adding a refill to his reservoir of energy.
WEAKNESSES
  • Insufficient Recharging: Once the ring activates, there is a recharging period before the ring is able to utilize it's strengths again. The timeframe for the recharging period is between 5 - 13 minutes.
  • Dark Side Eater: The ring is only effective against Force abilities of the Dark Side nature. Lightside Force abilities are unaffected.
  • Dark Side Nemesis: Due to the ring being alchemized via Lightside energy, it risks being easily destroyed by a direct Dark Side attack such as Force Lightening.
DESCRIPTION

Using his knowledge of Al'chima, a light side alchemy technique used exclusively by the Order of the Lotus Moon, he obtained from The Winter Moon Holocron came the idea for the ring. He understood that in combat with the Dark Side the proverbial battlefield continuously evolved, enhanced by distractions and quick thinking actions, the need to stay focused without separating his attention between physical attacks and calling upon the Force was the difference between victory and defeat, life and death. The ring allowed his focus to remain on the enemy.

After some deliberation, Ro-Tahn decided to combine two different Force abilities; Force Drain and Force Resistance. Al'chima was created to imbue items with the Force, not create items, thus the ring would be infused with the Force, whilst it's chemical makeup remained unaffected. Also, Al'chima could not be utilized in a way that would do direct harm to an opposing individual. such as mental or physical attacks. So he found it tricky when using the Force Drain ability. However, his mastery of Al'chima allowed him to reshape Force Drain in a way that it would drain the energy of a Force attack rather than from the caster's pool; transferring a percentage into his own pool of energy. The original energy would naturally be of the Dark Side origin, since the ring is only effective against the Dark Side, but the transference of the energy would be reconstituted into neutral energy; turning to Light Side energy upon his reception.

The ring's alchemized infusion is automatic. No magical spell-word was required. The ring simply detects the incoming attack and acts accordingly due to the infusion of the two Force abilities. It is, however, not absolute in a way that it can continuously counter attacks. There is a recharging period the ring undergoes that is dependent on the strength from the attack by the caster's own strength in the Force. Sith Lord and Dark Jedi Master attacks would result in a longer charging period, whilst Acolytes and Padawans would possess lesser recharging time.
