Where Valor Sleeps

Tegaea Alcori

Back to Square One
[member="HK-36"], [member="Rianna Ordo"], [member="Satara Hawk"], [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"], Maya Whitelight

Tegaea watched with bated breath as they began to wake her wife. Her heart thumped, worrying that something might happen at this last moment to derail the whole process.

"Bionics are almost repaired. They were in relatively good condition anyway," Doctor Osway said, standing back. "They will need new flesh coverings, but they should be fully operational again."

Satara registered [member=HK-36] addressing her but her focus had been solely on [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]. Through her magic, she could feel her act working, she could feel the veins repairing through the female's body. And still, she chanted again: "Audi verba venefica vetustissima invoco deorum aut tincidunt dolor aut excitare hoc creatura aut prohibere sanguinem aut prope vulnera, Vetus ventos colligere, hoc fac me anima meae virtutem." The words flew her, pushed anew towards the unconscious female, driving through the veins, finding any damages that could cause problems and repearing the tissue so the blood could flow normally.

The rest of the room was a blur at this point, all her thoughts focused on Siobhan and the spell she was performing. It was a dangerous one, that requires her own strength. While Satara hadn't began to feel those effects, she would soon. Until then though, a spell like this, could go wrong a million ways for both the caster and the castee. Nothing could distract her.

Tegaea emotions could be picked up by Maya as if it had been a wave of water hitting her. In away she could sense now that her own part was done. For the time being what was going on around her. Couldn't help in her nature to send out smooth thoughts with her empany to those that needed it them post. One would calm those that worried about the one that laid on the table. Just what the relationship to her with the one worried that wasn't for her to say. Then came the once that still seem to be working as could feeling the magic coming from her but also what swirled around the room.

Then came the fact that it didn't excape what that metal one said. Wondering if there was a way in the force to just dismal the darn bot. Only to see herself eyeing that again if she could just get his voice box. If couldn't shut it off at less give him a less annoying voice or even clear out so he didn't know how to talk in the first place. That again was her own personal thoughts to herself.

After all then this one was a very unique in his own ways and the way he could help in this kind of damage to the one that lay on the table. What brought her out of her own thoughts was what Osway the doctor working on her Bionics.

I might be of some help with that Doctor Osway.

What she was thinking would be tricker then just bring skin back to life it was growing new one but if there was some way of taking some from another part of the body to griff it on then that is how it had to be done or at less take some the cells to start a new regrowth with each of these solutions came there own problems and set backs. One being what she knew that could be done was a very advance healing even one that would be way be on her limits but only a long standing master could even think about taking on.

A small spark of life had been sustained in Siobhan. It had kept her from perishing after being spaced. The ember of life had been nurtured and strengthened by the efforts of the dedicated healers who had come from across space, all to aid a woman most of them did not even know, a testament to their devotion to the cause of healing. And, of course, the Iron Knight who had actually been the one to officate at her marriage with Tegaea, had played a vital part in this. All brought here by her firemaned wife, who could be said to have moved heaven and earth to save her beloved from death.

In the end, Siobhan was no 'force god', much as she would like to try and act as if she were a divine being, invincible and indomitable, but an all too mortal woman. In any case even 'gods' can be slain. Sometimes what many people would call miracles happen though.

And so Siobhan was pulled from the dreamlands in which she had slumbered. It was a powerful pull, a call to her mind to awaken, for as easy as it might be to retreat into a realm of makebelief, to gain the rest that part of her might have yearned for, she could not. Among other things, she had an ancient Sith Lord to kill. It is said that in the realm between life and death those who awaken again pass through a tunnel, at the end of which they behold shining light. Whether this is accurate can obviously not be verified, much as everything that just happened in Siobhan's head.

Insistently, powerfully...Siobhan was pulled out of a dream. Once more images and visions flashed through her head once more, though this time they did not keep her down but just fuelled the certainty that she had to awaken and so the beachhouse on Naboo, the peace and tranquility she had felt in comfort faded from her, instead being replaced by a sense of determination.

The light was bright, so very bright, making it difficult for her to discern her immediate surroundings and those who were arrayed around her bed, as she suddenly shot up and awoke with a gasp.

"She is waking up."

The droid announced, as Sio's eyes begun to flutter open he switched the gas contents being pumped through the breather mask to pure oxygen to allow her take deeper more nourishing breaths. As she awoke and attempted to shot up Siobhan would find the strong metal hands on her shoulders from keeping her movements too sudden, in case she could still go into some sort of shock.

"Siobhan, do you hear me? It is HK here, I healed you at Tegaea's wishes."

The droid would look to all the other healers gathered, who no doubt were staring daggers at the droid as he took credit for all their work,

"And there are some others here that helped me, but you do not have to worry about that right now."

Yeah he could be a jackass sometimes, anyway, the droid would wave Tegaea over to them as he kept talking to Siobhan,

"Do not try any sudden movements yet, we just finished operating on you, let your eyes adjust gradually. Tegaea is here with us."

Rianna pulled back the force keeping the nerves from shocking through [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]'s system had ensured that work could be done as needed, just as Satara had done her part, and Maya hers. Rianna was a Jedi she did not seek accolades if [member="HK-36"] wanted to take all credit it would not offend her, it was enough that she had been of help. Rianna watched Siobhan carefully

The woman blinked a few times showing that her level of consciousness was changing, the dreams had stopped. Rianna smiled and then drew closer, "Siobhan how do you feel?" Was she still in pain was more of a question than most others Rianna looked over at [member="Tegaea Alcori"] she could see relief, and happiness filling her. Rianna looked past everyone to see [member="Ordo"], she knew how all of this could feel. If anything had happened to him like this it would be torture.

Rianna then nodded to [member="Maya Whitelight"] and [member="Satara Hawk"], "You both did excellent work in helping it has been pleasure perhaps sometime in the future again we will meet" Rianna stepped back now watching and assessing.

"Captain, we've just received word Countess Kerrigan has woken up," an Angelii Wing Leader declared as she reached Kaida, who had been staring at a monitor that showed the readings of one of the security cameras.

Kaida tilted her head slightly and turned to face her. She was not really one for emotional reactions. "I see. Good. Try not to spread it across the entire hospital just yet. And keep security tight."

"Yes, ma'am. Are you concerned the news would lead to an attack? Any Dashdae Sciians would be foolish to try!"

"No, just about the fangirls. Their wrath is far worse and they have come in hordes," Kaida responded and pointed to one of the many computer monitors, which showed a legion of fangirls camping outside. Some of them were Amazons from Dahomey, clad in traditional leather outfits and wielding spears. A few had brought what were essentially large cats with needle sharp teeth.

"Respectfully, I do not see how they are a threat, ma'am. They are not warriors."

"If they storm and we get violent on them, the foreign media complains about human rights violations," Kaida responded in a deadpan tone, making it a bit difficult to determine whether she was being serious or not.

"But we're Eldorai, Captain. We do not care about human rights! Except...I mean, of those monkeighs who support our great Queen," the Wign Leader declared, catching herself at the end as she realised she might have made a faux pas. Political correctness was so difficult these days.

"Yes, but we're trying to convince the world we're Lawful Good. Randomly throwing fireballs at fangirls, however annoying they are, is bad for marketing. And, Wing Leader, do try not to call the monkeighs monkeighs. At least not in their presence. Sets a bad example. You're dismissed."

"Yes, ma'am...of course," the Wing Leader saluted crisply and quickly departed.

Kaida just shook her head and activated her comm, calling [member="Delila Castillon"], who seemed to be in a bar savouring Eldorai wine last she had heard. The redhead was one of the few people Kaida actually liked. "Captain, Kerrigan has just woken up. Thought you might want to know this," she spoke once there was a connection.

Tegaea Alcori

As Siobhan slowly clawed her way back to the land of the living, Tegaea stood by, looking down on her. A gentle touch to one of the few areas not covered in bandages or scars.
“Hey…thought we’d almost lost you,” she said softly, barely controlling her relief and emotions.

Looking to the healers she couldn’t keep it in any longer, and she started to cry. “Thank you all…thank you all so much. If there is anything in my power I can do to reward you, I will do so.” She had the presence of mind to look at [member="HK-36"] though. “Anything reasonable in my power,” she added, knowing how the droid sometimes reacted.

[member="Tegaea Alcori"], [member="Maya Whitelight"], [member="HK-36"], [member="Satara Hawk"]

People were speaking, her ears found herself not being used so that. Siobhan coughed slightly. She was numb and could barely feel her limbs and almost all of her body was covered. Strangely enough she felt tired, despite having just woken up. HK she recognised, though the rust coloured droid was a bit hard to miss!

"I'm...fine...thanks. No pain, tired," she spoke haltingly as her eyes fell upon one woman who seemed dressed like a Jedi - well, this writer presumes [member="Rianna Ordo"] would appear like that, apologies if had different attire and this writer has forgotten. Dimly she understood that the woman had played a role in healing her. Siobhan's Force senses were tremendously weakened, when she tried to stretch out and get a reading on things it refused to heed her call and respond to her, though the feeling remained.

She felt a soft hand touch the one part of her body that was not covered in bandages and looked up to behold her wife. There was no face she would rather wake up to. "I thought you were...dead. I'm...sorry," she managed to say, barely managing to keep control over herself. She could have lost everything so easily.

Were it not for those now arrayed at her bedside. "Thanks...I...don't know what to say, just thanks."

[member="Tamara"]

"Excuse my bluntness, so you're a rich kid trying to write wrongs in the Galaxy?"

In her experience, most who said they had a little credits and wandered the 'verse were rich kids trying to find themselves. Or some nonsense. Delila had no ill will towards folks who did so. Merely found it a waste of time and credits if they were searching for something in the stars. Then again, she was much more simplistic. Let her beat out her problems on some unsuspecting Bando Gora or Liam Neeson HRD that was a Baron in disguise. Terrible disguise as well.

Taking a sip of the wine, there was no reason to dwell on her question.

"If Siobhan is choosing to live or die she is certainly being dramatic about it -- taking her time and all. Not surprised. All eyes on her for as long as possible. Probably toying with everyone, cackling from some odd Force limbo situation."

[member="Delila Castillon"]

Tamara laughed suddenly, startling the pale fangirls and earning a few looks from other patrons.
“Rich kid? Rich…kid?” For once Tamara looked completely stunned, even a bit scornful. Then she hid it again and laughed a little less loudly, and a lot more grimly.
“No, Ms Castillon, I am not a rich kid out to fix the galaxy, I’m a thousand year old immortal trying to right some wrongs and mistakes I made a long time ago.”

She sat back and changed the subject, as if what she had just said was of no matter, a mere jest thrown out.
“Does she often do that in your experience, Delila?” she asked casually.

[member="Kaida Taldir"] | [member="Tamara"]

"Now who is the dramatic one?" Delila asked, eyebrow raised at Tamara's confession of being an immortal or some nonsense. Wine in the glass was unceremoniously finished as the comlink started to buzz and chime. Tossing an apologetic glance at the other woman, Delila answered to find the only Eldoari worth talking to on the other end. Naturally she was blunt and to the point, something the redhead could appreciate.

"I'm sure Tamara will wander over soon enough, thanks Kaida." Likewise she didnt waste any time as well. Delila slid the comm back into her pocket, debating if they should wait for the room to clear out first. Walking in on a fade-to-black scene was not part of her plans today.

"Apparently she's woken up.What do you say....should we head over or does more wine beckon our names?"

Tamara

[member="Delila Castillon"]
Tamara grinned. “I never claimed I wasn’t over dramatic. It comes with the territory. Surely you can appreciate a little outburst now and then…I’d have thought you’d have gone mad years ago without it.”

She considered the question. “Well, she’ll be Queen Bee over there, having everyone fuss over her. Let’s have another half glass and then saunter over. We’ll be fashionably late, and might even annoy her by being late.”
It appeared that trolling Siobhan was both instinctive and prevalent amongst all her friends and allies!

[member="Delila Castillon"]

Delila was blunt as usual, something Kaida could appreciate. Her interest in pussying around and indulging in small talk was rather limited these days. So she switched off the comm and as she looked around on the computer monitors found that the hospital had not yet been stormed by fangirls.

Perhaps they would end up fighting each other to show they loved the Kerrigan the most. One could always hope. For a short moment Kaida debated going to the hospital room, but then decided against it. Kerrigan's ego was bloated enough and there were enough people fussing over her. Besides, Kaida could not stand the woman. So she got herself a cup of starcaf. Apparently she was becoming an addict. Ah, well, there were worse things in life.

[member="Tamara"]

"I have zero objections to that proposal."

Delila thought Tamara was spot on about Siobhan's attitude. Maybe a near death experience would temper the woman. Probably not. It would most likely only serve to stroke her ego. Dying and living once more. Delila wasn't quite sure how Tegaea put up with Siobhan to begin with. No doubt if she was in that situation Siobhan might have been kicked to the curb already! Perhaps that was no surprise, given Delila's once married and now divorced status.

"Barkeep, another glass of wine for me and my friend. Also, surprise us with some type of tapas or other nonsense. We are in no hurry."

Whilst Tamara and [member="Delila Castillon"] punished their livers and left their desperately ill friend alone to her fate, Siobhan’s wife gently took her flesh hand.
“I…we…I’m alright. I dealt with the Sith assassin myself,” she said, clearly pleased with herself. She hadn’t needed magic powers of her own…well except Chesna’s…and had killed the Sith spy on her own. She was not just the fainting blossom Siobhan might assume her to be these days.

“How do you feel? All these wonderful people came together to help you,” she said. She gestured to [member="Satara Hawk"], [member="Maya Whitelight"], [member="HK-36"] and the others.

[member="Tegaea Alcori"], [member="HK-36"], [member="Satara Hawk"], [member="Maya Whitelight"]

"Good work. You were always the really badass one," Siobhan spoke fondly. She did not think of Tegaea as a fainting blossom, though it was true that she had a massive protector complex. "Hope you gave the queen all the hurt she deserved. Tempest is alright?" Well, vision!Kalinai had told her but Siobhan still needed to hear it from her wife.

She coughed slightly as she looked around. "Tired, numb...alive. Thanks. This is...very overwhelmning."

"Mostly just me though."

HK quipped at Tegs' words, once again shamelessly stealing away the credit from anyone else,

"Anyway, I need to clean up, and you need to be moved to a room where you can rest."

The droid would touch Siobhan's shoulder briefly before he looked to others,

"Good work team."

He would praise them before moving towards the door.

But just before he crossed the threshold he would stop and slightly turn to look back at Tegaea and Siobhan over his shoulder,

"As to the payment. I will figure out something appropriate for the life of your loved one."

He would say ominously before adding,

"Oh yes I will- Muahahaha-Muahahahahahaha"

As he would disappear behind the door his evil laughter would echo still,

"Muahahahahaha!"

Few days later he would ask for an alliance to be formed between Barony of Abregado-Rae and Kaeshana Confederation

The course of the magic was doing its work, finishing up the last bits of the veins. Through her connection, she could feel the blood flowing properly as the risk decreased. She could also feel [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] slowly coming out of her condition. Very slowly, she let her palms seperate as she tapped out of her power, not wanting to do it too suddenly. The droid, [member=HK-36], spoke though his words seemed irrelevant right now.

Satara glanced around the room, realizing additional presences she hadn't fully taken in. Even noticed [member="Tegaea Alcori"] now with them all. Her mismatched eyes landed on @Rianno Ordo as the woman spoke, speaking of future. She offered a small nod to those words but the Elder Witch knew better than speak right now.

Now, she could take in the droid's words and blinked. He was taking all the credit? Off all the people in the room first to speak up wanting to take payment for what he had done? "That would be the first reason why we don't take well to dro-," the Witch started to say, addressing the attitude then stopped, feeling a little light headed, her hand instantly reaching out to the edge of the bed-stand, careful not harm the patient in anyway. She took in a deep breath to calm herself. The drain from the spell was finally taking its toll. She closed her eyes for just a moment and inhaled deep brefore opening them again to look at Tegaea. "My healing is need no reward. I'm here at Tamara's request. I'm just glad we were all able to help." One blue, one green eye darted at the droid at the word she emphasised before looking back at the redhead.

[member="HK-36"], [member="Satara Hawk"], [member="Tegaea Alcori"]

"HK...don't be a jackarse," Siobhan raised her voice to speak tiredly as the droid took the credit for everything then walked out. He better not ask for permission to grope her tits! Since he apparently always tried to grab her...huge tracts of land. No, she was not tremendously vain and self-centred.

Dimly she heard a woman with blue and green eyes speak. Siobhan was lucid enough to realise she had been one of the healers who saved her life, and clearly the effort had taken its toll on her. She grimaced as she tried to stretch and her flesh hand moved with glacial slowness to reach out and touch Satara's. "Thanks...for everything you've done. Thanks so much."
