When the Skye Falls [First Order Dominion of Skye]

"My apologies. Orders are orders."

The unflinching response of the Stormtrooper honestly caught Josiah off guard. However, the reality was that it made perfect sense. This wasn't some fairy tale where audibles could be called on a whim. This was a full scale military operation, and as such orders absolutely had to be obeyed. In this case, the biggest of the head honchos had given the command to bring the two men aboard. And that was exactly what the Stormtrooper was going to do. After all, what would a "simple" peon say to the Supreme Leader if he did heed Josiah's suggestion? What excuse would he make if harm befell the prize?

Yeah. It was much smarter and safer to just stick to the orders. Besides, the First Order was not an unintelligent institution. The operation was launched with medical evacuation crews apart of standard procedure. As such, they would be dispatched in order to help. That made sense. That was what militaries did.

"Please have a seat sir. We'll be taking off in a moment."

Josiah lofted a brow...and strapped in.

As the fourth and top floor of the Magister's residence and headquarters burst into flame, the crowd in the square erupted in chaos. The thundering boom echoes off the buildings, shattering windows up to two blocks over. The wall nearest the Magister's desk, featuring the balcony that only moments ago had been host to a fiery speech of First Order values, was blown out, raining chunks of ancient masonry onto the square below, followed by flaming detritus and papers, bits of furniture. The office was the epicenter of the blast, and was in the center of the building, with a conference room to one 'wing' and support staff offices opposite. The sturdy construction of the building was shaken, but did not collapse.

Natasi Fortan had been closest to the door when the bomb went off, half-turned to see if there were any current holomaps available in the office. The office wall blew apart, and her chair slammed into her body with enough force to knock the wind from her lungs. A section of the wall came crashing down, impeded only by the chair before it, both of which knocked Natasi sideways and threw her to the ground. Next came the blistering heat, accompanied by a sudden silence, which was quickly replaced by an insistent, incessant ringing in her ears and pain, more pain in her ears than she had ever experienced. The lights had gone out -- or were blocked from view by the smoke that now filled the air, Natasi couldn't be sure.

Somehow -- she didn't know how -- she came to rest under the wreckage of the conference table and several chairs, and somehow both on top of, and under, chunks of the wall. She was pinned in place, whether by debris, furniture, or muscle and nerve damage, she couldn't tell. She gasped for breath, sucking in hot smoke and coughing weakly. Before slumping back to the uncomfortable pillow of rocky debris, the last thing she saw, through the tiny windows formed by her debris-and-furntiture prison, was the white armor of stormtroopers rushing through the gaping hole where the Magister's office once was.

She closed her eyes and prayed for the end. Eventually it came in the form of lost consciousness.

As the First Order speeder transport stopped at the entrance to the resistance base. Drax double-timed towards the coordinates of the squad. He passed through the corridors and rooms they had blasted through, the corpses as well. As soon as he saw more charred corpses over blasted corpses, Drax knew he was getting close. Once he spotted the singed but white armor of the flametrooper squad he halted abruptly and saluted, "FN-0318.." He tried to catch his breath after so much running in heavy armor, "Reporting for.." He wheezed one last time, "Duty sir!"

Three remaining, all armed. Razelle exhaled softly and waited until she heard a step towards her. The moment she did, she lurched out from behind the generator. Her left hand shot out in a quick, ruthless strike to the elbow of the man closest to her - Twi'lek, easy - and smash his rifle away. As his arm went wide, the Stormtrooper bought up her knife in a quick vertical slice across the tendons of his left bicep. Relatively major artery down there, too. He'd bleed out easily, and that arm was now useless. She followed through with an armored knee to the stomach, grabbed his lekku with her free hand, and ducked behind the Resistance soldier so his friends couldn't shoot her.

Range of efficacy. All she had to do was get inside it. Raz rushed forward with her dying hostage, pushing him into one of the other soldiers as she got just close enough to another enemy to duck around his wild shot, wrench her hand into the rifle barrel, and impale his shoulder with her blade. There was a scream, but unlike the last couple of combatants, this one put up a fight. She had a face full of knuckles in the space of a moment, smashing against her jaw. Naturally he'd focus his attacks on her unarmored head. A second punch hit her left temple as he dropped his rifle, and the wrenching motion stole her knife from her.

Addled for a moment, Razelle shook her head and dropped low to deliver an elbow strike to his ribs, then a quick palm thrust to the solar plexus. Properly stunned, there was no way he could prevent her from slipping behind him to initiate a chokehold. His buddy had finally fought his way out from beneath the body of the Twi'lek, brought up his rifle, and was ready to level it at Raz's helmetless skull...so she ducked behind the troop she was grappling with once again, tore her knife out of his shoulder, and squeezed with her left arm until she heard a crack. Flip knife around and-

*bzzat!*

She hadn't expected one of these softies to shoot their own buddy. Maybe snapping his neck had been too loud...the body absorbed most of the power of the blast, but her armor was scorched from the overflow, under her left arm. She'd also dropped her knife. "Nngh!" Smacking the corpse to one side, Raz charged fast and low, coming in under his rifle and up at his arm. With a quick striking motion, her plastoid armor cracked his elbow joint and rewarded her with a fantastic cry of agony...which was quickly silenced with a throat strike. Closing out this fight. If she'd been more focused on defense, maybe she would have made it through without any major injuries.

Unfortunately, getting that close to someone opens you to attack. There was a knife sticking out of her ribs. It'd miraculously missed her lungs, likely because of the armor in the way, but fuck did it hurt. Razelle responded with a strike to the man's nose, and was rewarded with limp corpse dropping backwards before her as the cartilage of his nose stabbed into his skull to hit some...very delicate organs.

Raz sank to her knees shortly thereafter. There was a helmet she could reach if she crawled for it, but it was on a dead man. The Resistance troops had made sure to put a blaster bolt through it. "...Ngh..." Also she was bleeding. "...Damn."

Allies: Cali MK-1488 Rhun Trask, Natasi Fortan

The threw Colrenth across the room, and dropped large sections of roof and wall, and other debris on top him, injuries but, still conscious, he had managed somehow the hold on the data spike he was downloading the data too, he was shift his potion just enough to return the spike to holder. His ears for ringing, but he could make the voices of several people in room. The darkness he had gotten used to being under the debris was suddenly replaced by bright light, and white armor of a storm trooper pulling him to his feet. Despite the blood on his face he nodded to the trooper indicating he was fit for duty, and then immediately to scan the room for Agent Rayden, and Natasi.
