Trying Hard Not to Flake
I thought of some more!

4) Family rp. I've tried in the past but honestly I'm flaky and I change my mind so much that it's hard to get others involved in my story. It sucks though because I LOVE reading and collecting the lore of how all the characters are intertwined. I'm just no good at being part of it.

Also ... I'm thinking I might also be bad at writing multiple characters because I'm fizzling right now. Might have to go discuss with my peeps and see if they mind if I just focus on one for a bit.

  • Perfectly moral and 'good' characters. On average, the characters I write tend towards morally grey or dark grey. Kyriaki and Elpsis are good examples. Though for the same reason I don't write unambiguously evil that often.
  • Slice of life stuff. Not every story needs to be super epic or have fighting (Kyriaki's story features very little combat frankly, partly as a self-imposed challenge since she is frail and weak in the Force...but is stuck in a society of murderous Sith and Social Darwinist, patriarchal human supremacists and needs to use her mind to survive). But to me it needs to have a point, a goal and direction of some sort.
  • Happy characters, characters without trauma or other psychological issues, Elpsis has huge self-esteem issues (thank you, Siobhan, for being emotionally abusive), Kyri is hugely traumatised and hates herself. When my characters get too happy, I get annoyed.
  • Happy romance stuff. See above.
  • Writing descriptions for settings and how to work those into a scene.
