SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Fully Energized Blade can absorb blaster bolts and withstand lightsabers for extended periods of time
  • Shield Generator in crossguard
  • Energization level can be adjusted from stun level to lethal levels of electricity
  • Energy Consumption unit which allows the blade and shield to absorb energy to recharge its battery
STRENGTHS
  • A fully energized blade can provide defense against lightsabers and blasters
  • Energy Consumption unit can absorb blaster bolts and lower energy sources that collide with the blade or shield to increase battery life
  • Deployable energy shield blocks blasters and other energy based weaponry
  • Durasteel blade resists wear and tear to keep its edge.
WEAKNESSES
  • Energized blade has a limited energy supply (10 minutes at full, 45 minutes at stun)
  • Shield Setting rapidly depletes the battery (30 seconds max without recharging)
  • Due to the high energy output of a lightsaber, the the energy consumption unit will cut off during contact rather than risk overloading the battery
  • While the blade can block blaster bolts, it does not grant the wielder a force user’s supernatural reflexes
  • EMP blast will short circuit the shield, causing it to become a normal sword
DESCRIPTION
Designed for close combat forces, the VSF Wolf Claw recognizes that most melee fighters in a combat zone consist of jedi and sith wielding lightsabers. To combat this problem, the Wolf Claw allows for its blade to be wrapped in an electrical field contained in a way similar to a lightsaber. When a fully energized blade comes into contact with a lightsaber, the energized field will repel it, keeping the blade safe from the destructive beam. This protection however, is only possible when the blade is fully energized. When a fully energized blade comes into contact with an individual, it imparts a powerful electrical surge which may cause serious bodily injury or death.

At its lower setting, the blade’s energization can last significantly longer, and can still absorb blaster bolts and lower energy sources that come in contact with the blade to increase battery life. Furthermore, a low energized blade is capable of unleashing a powerful electrical charge similar to a stun baton when it comes in contact with an enemy.

In either mode of energization, there is an additional trigger on the hilt which, when pressed, will cause the sword to emit a wide tapering energy shield, much in the shape of a traditional heater shield. This energy shield, while short lived without being recharged, can protect the wielder from most energy based attacks, including blasters and lightsabers. This shield extends, lengthwise, up to the end of the pommel and just past the tip of the sword, and a little over .25m past the cross guards.

As mentioned previously, every Wolf Claw contains an energy consumption unit which is automatically activated upon any energization of the blade or shield. Due to its smaller size, the unit is unable to process energy beyond that of a normal blaster and will overload if it attempts to recharge the battery with overpowering energy sources such as a lightsaber beam. To prevent this, the unit will reject any significantly powerful surges that would cause an overload.
