DESCRIPTION
Designed to offer additional protection to VSF customers and allies, the Samoyed cloak is a light weight and durable accessory that comes in a variety of styles, from lavish billowing cloaks for formal events, to mass produced military style. Along the side and top edges of the cloak is a small area that when gripped, activates a protective energy shield over the outer side of the cloak. This shield is capable of deflecting both lightsabers and blasters, with the latter bouncing off as though they’d come in contact with a saber.
When not activated, the cloak’s use of Karlini silk interwoven with Inth metal filaments allows for a very durable material that can survive most physical, sonic, and energy based attacks. However, while blades will find the material difficult to cut or price, it does nothing to stop the transfer of force, thus providing no protection from blunt force trauma, and only limited protection from piercing attacks. For instance, if shot with a slug thrower, while the cloak may do well to survive the strike, the slug is still likely to pierce through the wearer’s body while wrapped in the cloak.
Included in the inth metal filaments is the use of laminanium which allows for the the cloak to have some mild self repairing capability. While major damage to the cloak will take hours to fix (if it fixes iat all), the inth metal does allow the cloak to repair itself from normal wear and tear.
