Built as a squad marksman rifle, the VSF Malinois was built to allow the VSF Coyote to specifically as a sniper rifle as the Malinois can provide a more rugged, battle ready weapon for medium to long engagements. The Malinois is a semi-automatic blaster rifle, capable of piercing most armors with its powerful rounds, having condensed a normal Blaster’s ammo capacity of several hundred down to fifty. Due to the strength of these rounds, constant use may cause the barrel to overheat, making it more ideal for picking out specific targets rather than firing indiscriminately into a crown of enemies.
The Malinois also has an Ion mode which fires a similarly powerful blast of ion energy which is capable of stopping most light vehicles and power armors in tier tracks with a single round, which is to say nothing of the devastating effect that the ion round would have against droids. While the Malinois is capable of taking out heavier vehicles such as walkers, this does require multiple shots to overload the circuits, possibly even requiring the overheating of the weapon’s barrel for larger targets(Such as an AT-AT).
Every VSF Malinois comes with an inbuilt holosight which activates upon insertion of a magazine, however, the weapon does support after-market scopes to allow users to customize their optical needs for the battlefield. Due to its primary purpose as a marksman rifle, the Malinois also features a long range to its powerful round, capable of touching opponents at hundreds of meters with minimal , assuming the accurate aiming of the user.
