Farlon Orbit

Tough, Disciplined, Die-hard.
Orbit started to leave them, it was too late for the smuggler. He decided to follow the tracks of the soldiers and scientists. Butas he followed them from a sizable distance he noticed all the new comers following the last survivor of the crash. Giving Orbit the thought 'Man, that is one unlucky passenger' Soon he caught site of them all, through his scope. But one was missing, fortunately for Orbit he didn't care. More thoughts kept coming up, 'That is a sizable group of soldiers, I might have to call in the 33rd.'

Slowly he zoomed in and out on each of them, but inside he knew if he had to take a shot it would only end in chaos.

As the Mandolorian spoke of needing to hunt for food, she dug inside of her satchel and slowly brought out a couple of ration bars and strips of dried meat. Just as slowly she got to her feet, not wanting to set off the trigger-happy soldiers. She then held out the food to the Mando. "Here. You can have some of mine." A bit of a peace offering couldn't hurt. It was starting to become clear that although they were all following her tracks, it seemed to be more out of concern and curiosity, rather than hunting.

And then she felt it, the painful deaths a short distance away, one after another. By instinct the Padawan tightened her grip on her satchel and moved to step in beside the soldiers. Safety in numbers. She heard the twigs snapping and knew that it wasn't local wildlife. Something dark and sinister was out there hunting them and she didn't like that at all.

I smiled under my helm as the admiral spoke. However, I forgoed his words as the Jedi stood up and offered rations to myself. I chuckled a little as I was going to push them away from me. Sure, it was a nice sign that there were people who still had a heart in this galaxy. But I was not one to take things from those in less situations than myself. Her ship was gone. Crew was gone, and even more so, I had guns and tool to work with. The best she might have is her own powers, and maybe a lightsaber or pistol to look her part. EIther way, I pushed them away from me with my left hand beginning to speak.

"Thank you, but I cannot acc-"

I cut myself short as she moved closer and grabbed her bag. My rifle instantly came up and scanned the area. Already I was getting into protective mode. My left hand came out and grabbed the Jedi woman by her arm and pushed her behind me. Not really a push, but enough to let her know to stay behind me. My right elbow up and my left now coming to support the rifle that was shaking from the pure fact alone that it was only being held up with one hand. As my left came up to support it, I could hear snaps, and I turned on my infrared. Seeing a figure off in the distance. I was glad I had a wide visor right now. As I could now see a second blob of someone off further. It was small, but with someone who has been in battle for years, and have survived for so long, I could tell the difference between an animal, and a sniper.

Whispering to those around me, I knew that the admiral, and the Jedi could hear.

"Two contacts. Northeast about 50 meters out, and Dead North about 125 meters."

I wasn't a Mandalorian Rally Master for nothing.

Orbit looked closer through the scope when he saw the Mando lift his rifle. He knew the Mando could see him after a few moments looking around. Orbit set down the rifle and leaned on his knee, turning on his commlink built into his gauntlet. He than gave orders to whoever was on the other line,

"I want a dropship with Rancor Company at sector Z76 above Bakura on standby, use my Consular-class-cruiser as an escort. Clear?"

There was a pause for a second as the message transmitted. Slowly he waited in silence until it was broken by,

"Yes sir."

Quietly he went back into prone as he set up his rifle again. He wondered if he actually was going to need those men.

Always with the overreacting when the blimps brighten up a scan. Jaster sighed, well guess the capturing was out of the question now. He would have to send more of his men off with an honorable death then he needed to. He probably should have informed his companions of his plans to capture. He slowly put on his helmet and got up, his men were already in fire team posistion with the rivers to their back.

"Well let's get this over with," Jaster broke radio silent, "XO of the Reminant, break radio silents, monitor area and prep exfil on my orders, any vessel approach that isn't ours, notify me."

"Roger that Admiral." The radio reported back.

"Let's go marines, defensive perimeter, science team final ring and clear a landing zone, bring up definsive barricades and grab cover, sniper rounds will penetrate your armor class, we have a KIA 15 meters within the forest, they are aware of us as much as we are of them." Though he was an exile, he did serve as an Admiral.

"Sir, it's unclear but it seems you have a cruiser class incoming." Radioed the XO.

Jaster looked over to the Jedi and Madalorian, "You need a lift?"

"Blasted!"

Orbit watched the small group of marines forming a perimeter. Orbit activated his comlink,

"This is Major Orbit, launch the dropships hold fire once you land, but be on high alert, copy?"

"Yes sir, but we have intercepted a transmission stating an incoming cruiser class. We are unsure whether he is depicting us or another ship, what should be are response?"

Orbit thought for a moment before replying,

"Jam all communications on this planet, no one goes in or out unless I say so. If needs be call in the Admiral, he will provide us with reinforcements and support, copy?"

"Copy"

Orbit turned off the commlink, and waited for a few seconds. Suddenly the dropship emerged from the clouds, it's boosters slowing it's fall to the planet. His anxiety grew as the ship came to a stop right above the surface. Another voice came on the radio,

"Is the landing site clear?"

Orbit left his rifle for a second and turned around looking at the clearing ahead of him.

"Landing site all clear, you are a go for deployment."

"Copy."

Gradually the ship came down to the site before extending it's landing gear settling it self on the surface. Quickly the doors opened revealing the 150 strong Rancor Company. Orbit knelt down to pickup his DC-15a rifle and packed it on his back, he wouldn't be needing it for know. Swiftly he ran towards the dropship to meet the Captain Lucky, the CO of the company. Once he reached him the Captain asked,

"Sir, where do you want the troops placed? And do you need any supplies, sir?"

"I want them positioned around the tree line with a squad on me. And make sure to contact the cruiser and tell them to keep some guns trained on that river over there for air support."

"Yes sir!"

The Captain told one of the lieutenants what Orbit had told them and opened his commlink. Soon the troopers were in their position and a squad hurried over to him. The sergeant of the squad saluted as did the rest of his men,

"Sir, Striker Squad, reporting for duty!"

"Good, on me."

Orbit gripped his rifle and hustled over to a new sniping position, followed by Striker Squad. He stopped at a fallen log and set his rifle on the dead wood. Activating his commlink once again,

"No one fires unless I give the all clear."

A chorus of 'yes sirs' rang over the intercomm channel. He didn't want to engage the Admiral and his forces but if needs be, Orbit wasn't afraid to do his duty as a soldier.

The Padawan did not resist as the Mandalorian moved her behind him. His towering and armoured form provided an almost perfect shield. She slipped the food back into her satchel. As Jaster asked his question, she nodded. "I think that would be a good idea..."

Moments later the dropship descended from the clouds, causing her to look up. Well that wasn't good. It was clear that the ship didn't belong to either of her new companions. The seemingly peaceful forest was now teaming with soldiers. After Jaster's men went into formation she called out to him, "Are you sure that you were all here JUST to look at plants?"

Things were not what they seemed here. The Padawan seemed to have crash landed in the middle of some kind of dispute. Normally she had at least some of the facts when she was brought in for negotiations, but this time she had none, only the feeling that it wasn't safe and she needed to get out of their as soon as possible.

While everyone else was focused on what was ahead of them, she turned to face the river, removing her lightsaber from her satchel and keeping it in hand. It wasn't turned on as of yet, but was there as a precaution, just in case they were flanked from behind. It was a moment like this when she really missed her husband and his strategic mind when it came to being on the battlefield.

They couldn't have known, no one knew. He spend millions just to keep them a secreat, this was either just a coincidence or some would die for their mistake. All that mattered were the samples and data, even though they hadn't even started it. He'd have to improvise, that or come clean to the people he may have involved. Though it wasn't an involvement that would prompt this kind of reactivity. The test were just secreat, that was all.

Best come clean then, "Ok we aren't here just for plant, we were testing something out here," Jaster looked at the craft that was landing, "wait a second," Jaster took out his binoculars to look closer at the craft, they were [member="William Kerkov"] transports. The damn admiral was at it again, either he was after another of Jasters investments or was another coincidence.

Jaster needed to be sure, he opened a com link on an open frequency so anyone could hear with in the limited range. "What's the Open Circle Armada doing this far from Terminus?"

"Sir, there is a message being sent out to our troops on Bakura, we believe it's addressed to you sir."

"Well than let me hear it."

Kerkov pressed one of the numerous buttons on one of the control panels on the Bridge of his flagship The Onslaught, a Victory Class-I cruiser. Soon the recorded message began to play, and Kerkov came up with a plan.

"Captain Mausa, bring us into the atmosphere of Bakura, I want to land there in a shuttle. And tell our two Consular-Class-Cruiser Escorts to stay in orbit along with the third. I am going to arrange a meeting with my good old friend Jaster. Oh before I enter my shuttle tell the men on the surface of my incoming, I don't want to have any surprises."

Kerkov soon left the bridge to get ready for his shuttle's take-off, everything was going to plan.

The Padawan furrowed her brow at Jaster's statement. The fact that he knew the incoming troops and the fact that no one was standing down meant that what he was testing wasn't good. "What exactly were you testing? Some kind of weapon? Did you have permission for testing this SOMETHING with the local government?"

All valid questions that needed answers. She kept the Mandalorian at her back while her eyes were scanning the river for movement or flashes of metal reflected in the sun. She didn't plan on surviving a deadly crash just to die in a firefight over some experiment that someone felt they could profit from.

The Admiral was testing something. And the Jedi was asking what was going on. All while I was watching the two blobs of people. One ran off as there was the clear sound of engines above us. Seeing as how there seemed to be a lot more ship activity. I started to speak to Alex over the com. Testing if she was there. Luckily I found it. Seeing as we had a secure, and encrypted line of communication. Instead of being used by signals from towers on the planet, it was set up like walkie-talkies. Using their own communication line. Even if they were tried to block the signal, they would work off of one another as a backup. While it wasn't all that great, and would be very much choppy. main points could get across.

"Company. Two, possibly more. Get ship in air. Follow signal location."

"On.. way. How... people?"

"Two possibly."

Since the other people were willing to be more worried about their tests, than this Jedi, and I was already taking some ownership over her, I might as well help her since the others were not really answering the Jedi's questions. Turning my head to her just for a second, I spoke to her, and her alone.

"I don't think they are going to answer you, or me. Be prepared for anything. If you have any weapons, let me know."

"Sir, The Onslaught is entering the atmosphere, and some of the comm guys have seemed to pick up an encrypted message."

Orbit looked at his sergeant,

"Well can we decrypt it?"

"No sir."

"Blasted!"

Orbit looked down his sight again to check that all the targets were still in view. He could see the mando soldier on his commlink.

"Tell all the troops to make sure no one leaves the area. We have to keep them there until the admiral arrives for negotiations."

"Yes sir!"

The Padawan looked over her shoulder to the Mandalorian and waved the brass coloured hilt of her lightsaber so that he could see it. She didn't have it ignited though as she wasn't asking for trouble. "I have this and a small blaster in my satchel."

She returned her eyes to the river and to the sky. There were more of them up there, a lot more. Already she was missing the peacefulness that she had just a few hours ago. If only it had rained hard enough the night before to hide her tracks! Now she was in a 'wrong place, wrong time' situation. It was best to get out of there but the timing had to be right.

She turned her head to the Mando and spoke to him, "How good are you at swimming with that armour?" No doubt he could sink like a boulder, but his armour could be made of lighter stuff than she realized. But then he had all those electronics. Still though, they might be able to sneak into the river while everyone else was distracted.

Looking around, My Infrared was filling up fast with People's signatures and heat signs. Ships in the skies were leaving heat trails and their engines were glowing white almost. Very, very easy to spot. It was then I could see off in my side vision a little brass lightsaber. Good. She was trained to use one. And she mentioned a pistol as well. Good. At least she had some protection with her. I remembered my game days as a Kid. Playing FPS games. And it looked like I was going to be the Tank, Marksman, and CQC all rolled up into one. WIth the Jedi being the DPS, and CQC. She had no visible armor on her. Maybe a Personal energy shield, maybe. But either way, it was not looking good for us.

Then her question asked about how well I could swim. Even in the armor. It took just a second for me to register what she was getting at. I nodded my head silently. Keeping the line open with Alex so she could get little bits of here and there of what was happening. Knowing that we might be changing our course of action.

"Grab what you need. Then move slowly."

My Rifle was changing people back and forth. Even with the Admiral because I didn't know how he would act if we just upped and left. Both the Jedi and I needed to be silent about speaking to one another so the others who were well past the ten feet mark now, couldn't hear us. We would have to work together now, with no arguments. Since I was leading her to my ship, and it was very likely I was older, and more trained for situations like this, I would be taking the lead. I guess Squad Leader also racks up another point on my list.

"Let's just hope Alex is good at driving the Ship."

Well cat was out of the bag now, "Well the planet is literally a barren land, we didn't consider people ever finding out, let alone the OCA, they are just drop pods," Jaster looked back at his men to watch them to continue their scan of the forest. He then looked back at the Jedi, "Look, the test was just to check if a person could survive the impact, the organic shell was to absorb the impact and after two days dissolve into organic fertilizer, that why we needed to forest, soil samples of plants and trees, so not all a lie."

Jaster looked back at the oncoming forces, "Now the Admiral I'm guessing, either wants you, a smuggled Jedi, or my research on drop pods that don't leave evidence after drop off, but right now," he saw another drop pod coming through the atmosphere, "it's anyone's guess."

Jaster heard them planning to leave by crossing the river, "Me and my men can hold them here if they attack, if you need a lift out of the system," Jaster pulled out a transponder with a radio, "this will contact my cruiser in high orbit, it will keep you safe from the armada, if it's me they want, I'll talk with them, you guys get out of here."

He offered the transponder to the Madalorian, he didn't think he'd die, but better safe then sorry.

The Padawan had no armour or energy shield. She was just dressed as a simple merchant so that she wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb. But in this situation she did.

As she was about to start to move to the river, she was stopped by Jaster's description of their test. Such a thing would be very valuable in the wrong hands, and even in the right ones. And then he got her all wrong again and she just had to speak up for he might just get her into trouble with whomever this Admiral of the OCA was. "I am not a SMUGGLED Jedi, nor am I a smuggler. I wasn't on a smuggler's ship either. It was just a small transport vessel carrying a bit of supplies that just happened to crash. I'msure that kind of thing happens all the time. More than likely they are after your research as I have never any of them before."

She wrapped the straps of her satchel around itself and held it on top of her left shoulder so that it could stay as dry as possible. With her lightsaber still in her other hand and still turned off, the Padawan slowly moved towards the river and waded quietly into the water.

The second Dropship landed on the surface with a second company, The Rangers. Along with Admiral Kerkov and his flag aide. Spiffing off his white uniform as he stepped down the ramp onto the surface of the world. Letting the Ranger Company pass him to reinforce Rancor Company.

"Ah it seems that Orbit has done a good job with this operation. Now, lets get this business over with. Round them all up, open fire only if they do. We can't be responsible for the death of few soldiers, an exiled Admiral, some merc, and another exile, a Jedi. But I want them in shackles and interrogated as soon as possible."

"Yes sir!"

It was quite entertaining watching the soldiers storm the forest, something of his own creation. And Kerkov just loved it.

As the Jedi was slowly walking back, I walked forwards a few steps to take the transponder. Might as well have contact to a force stronger than my own. I nodded silently to him and turned back around. Turning off my Infrared, I then turned around and headed for the river that the Jedi was headed into. I jogged after her. My rifle can withstand water so it was okay. Because I was all colored up in green, I would blend in rather well. She however, wouldn't. I would have her go first so I could keep an eye on her, and provide fire should any one follow us.

"Keep moving forward. Don't stop for anything."

I looked behind me for a second to see another ship land down off where the other one was. I then moved a little faster knowing that more would be coming. I then contacted Alex as I kept moving.

"Alex, Don't go too high. Stay low towards the tree tops to avoid detection. Keep it slow and head south."
"On it."

Even at the rate she was moving, we were already getting close enough that there was just a lot of static and white noise in the background. Which was a good sign.
