STRENGTHS
  • Need for Speed - Vertigo can hit 1,200 Kph in the atmosphere (1,600 Kph with Scramjet).
  • Combat Thrusters - Dedicated Combat thrusters assist with manoeuvring the airframe allowing for greater control and enabling specialist manoeuvres.
  • Modular Weapons - Weapons are modular allowing the airframe to be equipped with Laser Cannons and Missile Pods for Fighter-to-Fighter or G6A Autocannons and a Torpedo bay allowing it to engage more heavily armoured Freighters, Gunships, or Heavy Fighters.
  • Battlenet (Optional) - Pilots can enable Battlenet functionality, allowing for Holographic HUD and Sensor readings to be shared across other Battlenet platforms.
  • Area of Denial - Corona provides a small bubble of passive protection against a missile both on the ventral and dorsal side. Note it can only destroy a single missile from either location before recharging (about 6 seconds).
  • Modular Components - It's possible to remove or add components as desired however, pilots should be cautious as to the Powerplant's limitations.
  • Localised Sensor Package - By default, sensors are set to an optimal range of 250m providing pilots with greater detail at engagement ranges. This can be increased at the cost of detail.
WEAKNESSES
  • Countermeasures - Generally speaking, Vertigo lacks common countermeasures such as EMP and Flare Pods. This is slightly alleviated by the presence of the Corona Active Protection.
  • Airframe Durability - Although armoured, the plating is designed primarily to protect from debris at high speed rather than direct cannon fire, the Vertigo is more reliant upon its shielding and pilot for protection.
  • Limited Power Capacity - Due to the power overheads of its systems customisation options are limited without first removing components.
  • Expensive - The Vertigo is fairly expensive far as Superiority Fighters go, costing around 215,000 credits in production costs.
DESCRIPTION

After the battle of Quetya in 877 ABY, it became woefully apparent Rimward had fallen behind on Starfighter weapon platforms with a dated fleet of Rebellion Era starfighters intermixed with more modern equivalents CAGs found themselves with the difficult task of coordinating intermixed squadrons.

The Vertigo is designed to help modernise the fleet with a new line of Superiority fighters aimed at Jedi and experienced CAGs.
