Velmor's Subjugation

@[member="Spencer Jacobs"]

It was clear that the Princess was not so easily swayed. Velmor had been isolated for generations. Their trade - if one could call it that with the Mandalorians being their closest neighbors - was focused on velmore gems and works of art.

"An agreement for what?"

Eldoc thought about it.. he hadn't known that his actions had been spoken so highly of, he had just thought himself another foot soldier. " My only advice, men and women, is to stay together, do what you have trained to do, and don't forget you have Velok and I here to get you through the worst of it. " He smiled, as he didn't want to see these men and women dying needlessly, he needed support just as much as them. He was not an one man army, he did need help.

The woman garbed in guard attired and armed with the traditional Velmorian foil stood at the doors entrance; She was of the Order of Santuary; an order that had originated in Naboo long ago. The Gulag virus had separated the worlds who had previously interacted, but not the traditions.

She stood, watching all carefully.

Spencer held her hands behind her back as she felt the tension in the room. They were not going to be easy to sway and she couldn't fail this.

"We would like to trade and provide protection to you. I understand you are isolated and with the support of the Empire your home and trade will flourish far more than it ever has in your history. Its a win situation for you, your highness"

"...and if Eldoc Quasat, the one-man army, tells you that, you know it's the truth. You know, boys and girls," said Velok to the ten thousand troopers, "Eldoc here refuses to be called a Sith Lord, refuses to take the position that could be his, because he's, well, a soldier. A grunt, even. A humble man -- sure, he's the most senior among the Hands of the Empress, but he could be ruling a sector right now."

Infinitous ordered two of his corvettes and a squadron of interceptors to investigate the area the Empress indicated, and whether they would find anything or not was yet to be seen.

There was a measure of reassurance at knowing her handmaiden was near; but even then Ozmeri knew that this was well beyond the normal negotation of trade.

Aquamarine eyes drew behind her towards her father, who abruptly said, "Ozmeri, leave us."

Of course, not a chance that would happen.

Her lips drew to a thin line.

"The Sith Empire?" Oh there had been rumors of the Empire closing in on their borders. Time, it seemed had run out.

"You honor me, Ambassador, with such an offer," came the reply from the King, his wizened face staring kindly at Spencer. Yet therein lay a particular glint that knew just what the pretty face girl was really saying.

Subjugate to the Empire willingly or else.

"Is that why you require such a fleet over my planet with such an offer?"

Viera followed the command, " send a patrol out to that plantoid, and scout what is there, we think it might be a montioring staiton. " She watched the sensors as they fixed themselves, now noting the same disturbance It was strange.. but she had a very bad feeling about this. " Send a corvette with the starfighters, I rather them have some back up. "

As the negotiations continued, Kirk gave the order for his fleet to prepare for an assault. So long as fire was not exchanged and they did not enter the atmosphere, Kirk assumed that negotiations would have been expedited by a display of force.

This meant that pilots now rushed for their starfighters and gunships and boarded them. This might have given @[member="MSE-007"] a chance to sneak aboard one in order to wreak havoc.

"Thank you for your quick compliance, Lord Zambrano, Grand Admiral. I hope I haven't overtaxed your attention, between investigating the planetoid and providing air support for our diplomats. The important thing here is that we deal strenuously with any outside interference, while being standoffish, even lenient, with Velmor's royalty. I want to take this planet without firing a shot, Force willing."

As the forces approached the planetoid, squadrons of Republic starfighters would spread out from a hidden base -- probably unknown to Velmor's leadership. Those dasterdly Republicans.

Cool ice blue eyes met the dark clothed Sith's stare rather boldly, but she made no move nor shift of her body as a tell.

Kirk's sensors immediately picked up on Republic starfighters.

Instantly, Kirk made an order to his men to send a message to the Empress and other fleet commanders.

"Republic starfighters approaching, Your Highness," he said over holocomm.

"Serving the Empire never overtaxes me, your highness. I am simply glad to do my duty" At least most of that was true, but there was always that underlying ambition to rule over all, but right now he was content to being the Grand Vizier. It was a lofty position and allowed him to extend his reach far and wide. The sudden warning by the Chiss Moff wasn't all that surprising, it was to be expected that the Republic would meddle in Imperial affairs, but of course they meddled in the Republic affairs on many occasions. "Shall I order my scout forces to engage, my Empress?"

"Your Grace, its only protection, we wish to show you the numbers we have to assure you that your planet is safe if you decide to enter an alliance with us."

Spencer could feel the tension rising in the room. The Empath continued to smile through it, she needed to attempt to avoid any confrontation between the planet and the Empire. Oh Diplomacy why were you a class that Spencer decided to sleep through?

"Please express your concerns with me your Majesty so I can help ease them from your mind."

Clambering into his TIE-fighter, Falon couldn't help but miss Iblis, the co-pilot he'd spent almost all his missions working with. He'd decided to opt out of this mission. The Aargonar walker-incident had shaken him up a bit. Falon wasn't too surprised, given that Iblis had dragged his bleeding body from a burning walker and dragged him onto the Empress' shuttle. Falon had also been a bit disappointed with Empress' healing efforts. The wounds had opened up days later, catching him in his sleep.

Nonetheless, a medical droid had patched him up. He was hoping that wouldn't open up again. The claustrophobic TIE cockpit and his equally tight helmet wouldn't take to well to a sudden spillage of blood. Sealing the hatch above him, he set his mind to the fighter, engaging locks and powering up engines. Reaching forwards he activated comms, a Corvette suddenly powering past. That's comforting. They need a massive ship to protect us. Grinding his teeth, he stared outwards once more.

"Gold Fighter squad, this is Gold Leader."
"This is Gold 2."
"Gold 3, signing in."
"Gold 1, here and ready."
"Let's move." With that, the squadron rose from the hangar, shooting out into space with the roar of engines and the glow of engine trails.

MSE-007 did, in fact, slip aboard a gunship, because it looked like it just might get close enough to the surface for a controlled crash landing. He darted between the feet of the gunship's crew and lodged himself in a service port.

The gunship rumbled and took off as various crewers commented on his present. He bristled at their jokes and began working his service arms, spindly little things, into the maintenance hatch.

Eldoc rolled his eyes... He wasn't that great, he was just a dark jedi here because he didn't have a place anywhere else, The sith Empire had been his last home, and it was his home again. Well when he wasn't working for coin. " I am not that great Velok, I just do what I can for the Sith, in repayment for waking me up into the galaxy again. "
He didn't think he deserved the praise that his former teacher was giving him, after all he was just doing his job.

Sasha Santhe

Majority Share Holder, Santhe Corporation
Sasha hated waiting, but wait she would because that was her orders. The planet below was... well insignificant in the views of the Sith Knight and lord of Lianna, CEO of Santhe Corporation and one of the richest women in the galaxy. Insignificant to the point where she would have just base delta zeroed the entire thing. She used the time to walk around the Star Destroyer and examine it. It wasn't hers, it was an older one purchased from the Kuat. She performed maintenance complaining about the poor design of the vessel and awaited orders, and then nothing.

Sasha followed the miniscule droid into the gunship, and awaited orders. If she could get down to the surface maybe she wouldn't be useless.

"Republic starfighters? I think they overestimate their chances. We haven't fallen for the old trench run in a good few centuries now. Let's give Velmor a show. Deploy half our fleet's fighter complement, heavy on interceptors, and let's see if we can get..all of them. Not a single escapee. They're almost certainly doing a scanning run, for military intel. We need to deny the Republic any knowledge we can about our operations here at Velmor."
