- Reach: The Auto'ra Spear has an incredibly long reach for a melee weapon, nearly nine feet from end to end, allowing the wielder to engage targets well outside their own melee range.
- Fragile: While a lethal melee weapon, to avoid making the weapon too heavy to wield in the highly mobile and fluid warfare of the Vaydralen people, the Auto'ra Spear had to be made without heavy reinforcement. Well placed strikes will easily break the weapon, making it entirely useless as the energy blades will disappear.
The Auto'ra Spear is a rather new development by the Vaydralen people, designed after reading reports of Bryn'adul engagements against Jedi and Sith warriors. The weapon is designed to give Vaydralen warriors an advantage in reach over these foes, allowing them to engage the lightsaber wielding enemies at long range, limiting their combat abilities. Primarily used in the beginning of a battle, Vaydralen warriors will often discard this weapon after the initial charge in favor of closer range weapons.
