As part of Incom’s new line of Starfighters, the UT-60 U-Wing has undergone similar modernization and modification with assistance from Alderaan Engineering. The UT-65 Starfighter/Transport is a multi-role capable of filling the roles of dogfighter, close air support, and attack shuttle. Its computer and sensor systems were updated to current technological standards, and its engines built to be more fuel efficient to allow the vessel to act as a long range transport or light freighter if need be.
The UT-65’s primary weapon systems are a pair of heavy laser cannons mounted on the nose of the ship, supported by a pair of door-mounted heavy anti-infantry turrets such as repeating blaster cannons or ion cannons. These door turrets aren’t able to be used in space or high altitudes without depressurizing the craft or drawing power away from other essential systems to project atmospheric shields, leading to them normally only being used while providing close air support to enemy targets. A single variable payload warhead launcher is mounted on the UT-65, capable of loading anywhere from three proton rockets to six concussion missile or any variation or combination of similarly sized projectiles. Finally, like all modern Incom designs, it features a concealed underslung ground buzzer light blaster cannon turret to fire at approaching ground forces or pursuing craft.
As an upgrade from the older models and based from the TR-20 X-wing design aspects, the UT-65 Model features a reduced sensor signature assisted by energy, static, and emission dampeners that allow the vessel to operate under stealth conditions. When doing so its weapons and shields must be powered down, and the ship’s power converter cannot be directed. In doing so, the passive stealth allows the ship to hide from most sensors and scanners while at long range, but is rendered ineffective at close range and engagement ranges.
The main difference between the UT-65 Model and previous Incom designs is the Power Converter and Reserve Power Generator, a concept borrowed from Alderaan Engineering and miniaturized for starfighters. This Converter and reserve power allows the pilot of the UT-65 to amplify their combat abilities during flight, such as switching power to weapons when making an attack run, boosting shields while being pursued in a dogfight, or turbo-boosting engines in order to escape capture from a tractor beam.

Stealth Systems
- Ion Scramblers
- Anti-Ion Emission Tracers
- Programmable Paint
- Sensor Stealth Suite
- Power Converter: New Incom Models now include Power Converters and a small reserve Power Generator, which allows them to boost one of their combat systems in battle, or assist with a rapid startup sequence.
- Passive Long Range Stealth: Energy Dampeners, Static Dampeners, and Emission dampeners allow the UT-65 model to fly under stealth conditions and hide from most sensors at long range. In order to do this it cannot use its power converters, fire weaponry, or have active shields.
- Transport: The U-Wing carries a squadron of troopers directly into combat, operating as a Fighter capable of providing close air support and delivering soldiers into combat.
- Unassigned Energy: In combat, the reserve power must be assigned by the pilot or droid or it is not utilized or directed. This means when ambushed by enemy craft, the vessel is not able to perform at its full potential for a time.
- One System at a Time: The fighter’s power converter can only direct its reserve power to a single combat system at a time, taking several seconds to stop the flow of energy to one system, redirect it, and begin the flow of energy to the next system.
- Limited Stealth: The New Incom Line has minor stealth capabilities, but the fighter must power down weapons and shields, and cannot boost engines in order to evade enemy sensors at long range. The system is ineffective at normal ranges.
- Door Guns: The Door guns are normally only fired in Type I or II atmospheres as otherwise opening the doors to use them would depressurize the craft or draw power from the other systems to maintain its life support.
- Ponderous: Much larger than the X-Wing, the U-Wing is more ponderous with stiffer handling and a much larger profile, making it easier to hit by enemy craft.
