If this isn't a motley crew then I have no idea what is.
The Commander set his elbows on the table, regarding each member of the little gathering with a slight tilt of the head. He recognized some of the faces: from bars, social events, even a past operation. Some, he had never laid eyes on in person before. He sucked in the air over his teeth as he began.
"Yes, I'm one of the originals...seems you did your homework."He paused to flicker his gaze on over to the green woman. "I like to keep collections. In case I ever have a daughter, scare away the pervy young men. That, and I like to indulge myself." Calico paused once more as the Trandoshan entered the room. He recalled saving the alien--such an odd event.
"Simple, Saraq. Make sure everyone on this little team sticks true if they agree. I'll make sure you're well compensated." A faint, almost fatherly smile formed on the clone's expression as yet another man walked in--a man he recognized.
Each member of this team had something special, something that set them apart, to a point. That, or they were professional, and good at keeping their traps shut. Honestly, Calico didn't care as long as the job was done. Krest would represent the CIS, alongside Saraq, things would be fine and dandy.
"Calico, Zius. Yes, it's been awhile. Thank you for that business on Triple Zero. Saved my, and Galaar's hides. Please, have a seat." Calico motioned toward the small section of seats in front of his desk--not at all intimidated by the presence of a very clear Dark Jedi.
Finally, a younger looking human. Calico didn't recognize him. Toph must have hired him. "Quite a bit actually, down to business.
The center of the room seemed to shimmer. One moment, it was empty space, the next, a large, green skinned Duros wearing a long brown cloak appeared from an internal holographic system. "This is Joren Vlen. To cut a long story short, he's one of the galaxy's top biologists. He's also supposed to be on Death Row in most of the galaxy's major governments. The man experimented heavily on children from multiple sentient species. I want him."
The Grand Marshal stood up and strode confidently toward the hologram, easily a foot taller than the faux alien. "He's on Balmorra, somewhere in the wilds. A compound of some sort, hidden well. You'll find him, dispatch his security, and bring him here. Discreetly, and alive." Calico turned to face the group, arms folded behind the small of his back. "No one can know that we've taken him. Not even the Republic. Set your weapons to stun, but if you absolutely have to, dispatch Republic forces that pursue."
The Commander's jaw set and his eyes narrowed slightly. His voice was serious and low. The man meant business. "We attempted to negotiate a transfer with Republic forces, but it fell apart. This man will save thousands of lives--all belonging to our people. I can't pass him up. It's immoral...the Republic has no idea we know of his location. I doubt they themselves know where he is."
Is this wrong? No, no it isn't. I'm saving the lives of my boys. I'm making the dirty decision for their sake. The Republic was in the wrong here.
"Needless to say, silence is requires. Any ties to the CIS are to be left here. If you're captured, we will have to eliminate you. If you're wounded, we can't come in to get you. I want this to be clear, this is top priority mission with great reward. If it's too dangerous, or too shady for you, you can decline right now. One of the Templars will wipe your mind and you can go on your way." Calico's brown eyed gaze drifted over each and every one of them. They needed to be perfect, or not here at all.
"I can offer you all ten percent of the arms budget. That's enough to set you up for the next ten years. On top of that, safety within the CIS, full citizenship, and a position in one of our newer divisions if it's to your liking. Either way, I'm being very, very generous." Calico took a moment to nod at the Trandoshan. "Saraq is my right hand. My top man outside of the Dreadguard. He will represent the CIS. Along with our Templar if he so wishes." A short smile was cast the Zabrak's way.
"Now, tell me your names and skills. If you accept, we'll get into the actually plan of assault. If not, there's the door, and one of our beloved Templar Knights."Calico motioned toward the door. "And be wary. If you say a word about this after the operation; I'm very, very good at making people drop off the face of the galaxy. Shall we begin?"
