Kay continued going through the book, though she decided to play the part of someone that couldn't find what they were looking for. She tried to make herself look a little frustrated as she finally got to her feet and put the book back on the shelf. She was being watched, just like everyone else in the library, so it was best to be careful.
Not long after, she headed out of the library and walked along the sidewalk to the east wing. She hardly noticed when the strange man stepped in pace beside her, but there he was, like a ghost, silent, but there. He touched her arm, indicating that he was there and was going to take the lead, so Kay followed him.
They walked for five blocks before heading down the stairs towards an underground transport station. It was busy. Transports seemed to arrive every few minutes. As people exited out of one, the man took Kay's arm and pulled her inside, leading her towards the back. Once there, he pressed her up against the wall and then flipped a hidden panel on the side, hitting the button. A false wall soon appeared, sliding into place in a split second to hide them from view.
Neither of them could see anything, but it didn't matter. The man knew this all by heart. He whispered, "I hope that you're not afraid of the dark. Or claustrophobic. We'll be at our stop soon, so hang on. Oh, and be sure to mind the gap on your way out."
