OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name:
    • The Undead Thralls of Lidoen
  • Affiliation:
  • Classification:
    • Fodder Undead Infantry & Ranged Unit
  • Description:
    • The Undead Thralls of Lidoen are an army comprised of undead warriors raised by Sith Necromancy as a fodder infantry and ranged unit. Unlike the Grave Covenant of Lidoen, these undead warriors have no semblance of their soul left within them, turning them into an effective if fodder brigade bent on killing the enemies of the Techno Magorum. The Unit Emblem is a large bat like creature with blood gushing out of its fangs; symbolizing their desire to hunt down the living that oppose them and consume them. They have a single purpose in mind and that is the serve as a fodder infantry and ranged force that is supposed to rush ahead into combat with no regard for their own lives in order to secure a landing zone for allied troopers or to stop enemies from advancing to command posts. They can form into formations on command to soak up the enemies fire or prevent a large amount of enemies from charging through a choke point.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size:
    • Large
  • Unit Availability:
    • Common
  • Unit Experience:
    • Rabble
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function:
    • The Undead Thralls of Lidoen are designed for simple human wave tactics, using them as fodder infantry and ranged units to hold the line while more specialized units move on the flanks to crush enemy resistance on the battlefield. They are unable to fight against a single person on their own due to just being a fodder skeleton so they will often engage in packs of around 10 to overwhelm the enemy with shear numbers. As an infantry unit they are equipped with a variety different vibro weapons and armor to protect themselves and provide them with a small window to fight back against an enemy before being totally destroyed. They generally need a heavy amount of support against a well organized and well trained army as they are simply supposed to be a frontier force to hold the line and soak up a massive amount of damage.
Strengths:
  • Undead Benefits [No eating, no sleeping..etc.]
  • Easily Replaceable
  • Environmental Immunity [Not immune to vacuum of space or corrosive materials]
  • Ability to operate limbs not attached to body [Excluding head, since that will kill them instantly]
Weaknesses:
  • The Light Side of the Force
  • Void Stone or Ysalamiri Bubble
  • Pyrokinesis
  • Dependence on Necromancer [Will instantly crumble if the necromancer is killed or out of the 50 meter range]
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Undead Thralls of Lidoen came into existence through Sith Necromancy on various battlefields across the galaxy that are now abandoned. The Arcane Spellcasters would assist the second Exalted Prophet of the Techno Magorum Tribe; Korious Tharenai with raising the undead from crypts and tombs of the worlds to raise an undead force to serve as a front line but fodder force for the Techno Magorum Tribe. Prophet Tharenai invokes the spirits of these vengeful warriors to service him and provide support for the elite Grave Covenant of Lidoen.

This new force of warriors that had been raised would be named the Undead Thralls of Lidoen after a techno Magorum sorcerer who first utilized necromancy for the tribe and who was killed by the Old Sith Order on Korriban. The Undead Thralls come equipped with several benefits and drawbacks such as having a undead bite that can turn others into the undead to being easily replaceable by the fallen troops of the enemy side.

Gaining environmental immunity except for deep space and corrosive materials that can destroy their bones. Some of their downsides is that they are weak to the light side of the force, can be killed by decapitation like all undead can and that they rely on the necromancer summoning them to still be alive parse and operate as an effective army. They are generally stationed on the Tribe's Current Fortress World of Skraalzzar and accompany the Exalted Prophet to whatever planet he goes to.

Let's go over a few things before moving to the approval stage.

  • Combat Function: You describe the undead thralls as "a mindless skeleton", but rate their Unit Experience as "Trained" and state that they are "trained to use a variety of different vibro weapons and armor". How does one train a "mindless" creature? If they are just a brainless undead mob controlled by a dark side necromancer, how do they learn?

  • Strengths: So, the "undead bite" piece. I'm confused as to how and why that works. These troops are skeletons, so they presumably have no saliva or other biological secretions that could spread an infection. Further, they are corpses raised through Sith Necromancy, not victims of an infectious curse, and they have a "dependence on necromancer" weakness. How does this strength line up with that weakness? Why does specifically a bite spread their undeath, when none of them were bitten, but were instead raised as skeletons? Does the necromancer controlling them suddenly gain control of enemies they bite? Does the necromancer then have to expend energy to animate and control the newly-bitten, in the same way that the undead thralls depend on the necromancer?
    • This is a classic zombie trope, but I'm not sure it makes much sense with skeletons.

  • Weaknesses: Please expand a bit on the "dependence on necromancer" weakness. Is there a limited range around the necromancer where undead thralls can be controlled? What happens if they leave that range - destruction? mindless wandering? Is there a limited number of undead thralls that each necromancer can control? If the necromancer dies, what happens to the undead thralls?
    • Decapitation isn't really a noteworthy weakness. Decapitation kills pretty much everything, so it's hardly a special vulnerability. You've already noted in the strength about detachable limbs that decapitation is an exception, so you don't need this.

  • Historical Information: So, just to be clear. These undead thralls are named "of Lidoen" after a Mawite sorcerer who had nothing to do with these undead or the Techno Magorum tribe, who died in a battle totally unrelated to either of them on the far side of the galaxy, in order to... disrespect him? They were never Lidoen's thralls, but they're called "of Lidoen" because... a dead guy wouldn't like that?

I believe I fixed it all. Please let me know

All the changes look good, but I don't see any changes that really address my questions about training. You removed the world "mindless", but that wasn't really the main issue here. You state the following:

these undead warriors have no semblance of their soul left within them, turning them into an effective if fodder brigade

They have a single purpose in mind and that is the serve as a fodder infantry and ranged force that is supposed to rush ahead into combat with no regard for their own lives

However, you also state the following, which contradicts the above:

Unit Experience:
  • Trained

As an infantry unit they are trained to use a variety of different vibro weapons and armor

So here's the question: how do you train a skeleton army, one that has no trace of their souls left? Do they go through weapon drills on the practice field, and somehow retain the skills they develop there without brains or souls? I see two options.

  • Remove all mentions of training, and drop their unit experience to Rabble

  • Explain that their combat knowledge flows from the necromancer who animates them

I removed the word training and dropped experience to Rabble.
