Description: The galaxy remains a dangerous place, even after the fall of the Sith. Fighting continues and the threat of war looms ever greater. Jedi and those like them are constantly on the move, putting out galactic brushfires as they appear. However many find themselves without readily available transportation, and those that can find ready transports often find them lacking in certain amenities.
As a former Jedi himself, Ayden understands the needs of a Jedi on the go. To that end, he personally helped design the Turhaya-class freighter with the needs of the Jedi in mind. A number of traits and amenities were core to the design philosophy of the ship. First and foremost is speed; Jedi must get to the four corners of the galaxy and do so with great speed. To that end, the Turhaya has a top-of-the-line hyperdrive and five powerful engines to carry it to the furthest reaches and beyond. An optional hyperspace inertia momentum sustainer even allows the ship to run clear through interdiction fields, making it a formidable blockade runner.
Amongst other amenities, the Turhaya can hollow out one or more of its engine blocks to grant additional amenity space, though this reduces the ship's overall performance (+0.5 to speed for each engine hollowed out, up to 6 for four dummy engines).
A meditation chamber can be installed on request to give Jedi and other Force Users a calming area with which to meditate on their tasks. Although such rooms do not amplify any Force talents as some older meditation chambers might, the design of each chamber can be tailored to each Jedi's specific needs, including botanical gardens, small ponds, or even grassy meadows.
For those who prefer to see events from a distance, a holographic projector allows for teleconferencing as well as video playback of received data streams. This allows the viewer to observe events from across the galaxy in near-real time. As well, the projector is also capable of displaying three dimensional maps of planets, structures, or ships when presented with sufficient data.
Some Jedi prefer to hone martial skills to meditation. For them, the training room is a recommended feature. Such training rooms come standard with training droids, and an assortment of readily available, legal weapons. More expensive versions come with holographic training droids, benches for lightsaber construction, and limited atmospheric and gravimetric training regimes.
The ship comes standard with a cargo hold capable of holding eight hundred tons and a passenger capacity of ninety-six. Cargo space can be sacrificed to add more bunk quarters, or vice versa.
Despite all these amenities, the Turhaya-class is not without flaws. It is not a dedicated combat ship and great care should be taken to keep it out of a fight. It relies heavily on its speed, so any damage that takes the engines out only exponentially increases the danger presented to the ship. It lacks any escort craft and only possess half as many weapons as a military craft of similar size. As well, several of the optional amenities require expensive upkeep to keep functional. However, many would say that the opportunities the ship presents far outweigh its drawbacks.
