Tsumi ni oboreshi gō no tama,

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
Location: Seoul V

There was always another secret, another ancient piece of exotic information and technology that was a piece of the puzzle. Matsu had been looking at things and found a pathway to what she wanted to trry and do. With help from others she had been working to learn and create special crystals that could use the force and technology. Techno force wizardry to work with some of the work and research the jedi master was thinking about. It helped she had Corvus who had welcomed her input and some of her help in things, gave her hope for the order while she was clasping her hands and checked the circlet. Its barrier against the radiation and poison in the air on the world a powerful thing thanks to their work on creating stronger utility items for the jedi they could wear in the field. Her small anklet in the boots while she looked up at the red-orange sky. "This is a beautiful place, pity the atmosphere got poisoned."

"Mmmmm" The Jedi Master could only say as he looked up at the sky from under his hood.

He tended not to get involved in his old Master's shenanigans. She always seemed to be trying to find powerful artifacts for her use, or some other crazy power... But at times, he couldn't help but come along, either out of curiosity, or to help keep an eye on her. Sometimes both. He still retained a good relationship with Matsu, and he did nothing out of ill intent. If she were to fall, he'd be the one to pull her back up above water again.

Though at times... When he looked at her, he saw the woman who had brought about that horrific disaster... But he always tried to dispel it from his mind. She had her reasons, right? Or so she claimed, anyway.

Joshua would let out a sigh. He wasn't too keen on the details of this mission, but he'd come along regardless. He didn't know if that was bold or foolish but he would soon find out.

"How exactly was the atmosphere poisoned?" He would inquire curiously.

Matsu looked at him while she was moving and looked up into the sky. "Bombs were set off long ago. It served to destroy some of the crystals they use. I don't know if control crystals still are here but the wold is littered with resonating crystals that we are looking for." She didn't need artifacts, she needed crystals and with another jedi master she was finding the power source that could help fuel them. She had more ideas going forward as she knelt down and ran her fingers through the dirt holding it up and it looking out at the ruined buildings, impact craters and broken down equipment without signs of things. The vegetation was gone while she started moving forward.

"Who set them off? The Sith?" The Jedi would inquire. Who would destroy the natural beauty of this place, just for... Force knows what? The reasons escaped him... Even for Sith. But they'd be the most likely cause. They just... Didn't care. Selfish desire, reckless abandon, disregard and a lack of reason or thought. That was their problems. That was their weaknesses but it was also what motivated their ventures, their ceaseless destruction and their senseless attacks.

But perhaps it was something else? He wasn't sure.

"Any clue where any crystals might be? Or are we chasing shadows?" Josh would add, looking over at Matsu, his brimming brown eyes open to stare back at her with a curious glint.

Matsu looked at him. "If the records and rumors are true then it was the rebels to stop an imperial weapons project. The crystals have properties that are useful. THe gree used them to create music and resonate energy to work their technology." SHe was moving towards one of the ruined building. "Though that is where the danger is, they can amplify things like the mind crystals that can control when large enough and that is why a great deal of them were destroyed with the main control crystal. I doubt we'll find another control or mind crystal but their resonating crystals yes we'll be able to find them. Just need a large enough size and amount before they have been cut and made to function for a specific purpose."

"The rebels?" The Jedi would ask, tilting his head. Were the rebels not a righteous cause? He bit his lip. They had been reckless then... In many ways, they were just like their Empire foes, willing to sacrifice life on a planet to earn even a small victory over the Empire. It was a shame.... A damn shape. How human nature could cause such needless destruction. He let out a sigh, shaking his head.

War. War never changes.

"If you think something can be salvaged from what is left here, I'll believe you" He would add. She hadn't been wrong many times before when it came to treasures such as these. She had an eye for them, after all. He just hoped that she knew where to look for.

"It's a shame about Feena..." He would comment quietly, scratching his head suddenly. The last time they had gone on mission together, they had visited Naboo to visit Feena Mason.. But had found her on her deathbed. Feena had died soon after. It had been heartbreaking for him... He still wished this was a dream. A nightmare that he could wake up from.

But it was real. All real.

Matsu raised an eyebrow but didn't look back at him while she was moving with most of her attention forward as she was searching in the force with one hand near the ground. "Feena was a great fun and women. WIthout her the pool of skilled healers in the galaxy has gotten considerably smaller and not as well taught. Thankfully we found a strong healers holocron a few months back for the circle of healers and that can soften the loss." She wasn't imagining it would fix or replace her but seeing that Anya had been able to heal saber wounds near instantly and walk through walls. She was a strong master and jedi with one hand pulling up a crystal shard. "Just wait until we find the real fun stuff, make sure your skills at resisting radiation and the poison."

But that was the difference between them right there. To him, he could care less what kind of "loss" Feena was to the healers department. He didn't care about stats. He didn't care about power, he didn't care about influence. He didn't care what kind of healer she was and what she had done for the healing ranks. To him, she was a close friend. That was all he cared about. She wasn't a statistic, she was a human being who had been amazing to him in life, and inspiration in death. For a moment, he fished through his robes, and would stare at the gift she'd given him just before she had died, biting his lip. It wasn't an object of much monetary value, but that wasn't the point of it. It meant a lot to him because it had come from her.

Finding holocrons that "recouped the loss" only soured his mood, as if Feena were that easy to replace. The Jedi shook his head and didn't bother answering her on that front. So many people just looked at others just uses... Objects. Assets. Something that could be replaced. He didn't. There was no "recouping" this loss.

"Let's just follow whatever lead you might have found" He spoke calmly. "I have a bad feeling about this planet. I wouldn't be surprised if we're not as lucky as we were last time"

Matsu listened to him and she was slightly curious of what he thought might be on the surface still. Whatever going across his mind as she moved going towards some of the buildings moving things aside. The force reaching out to sense and feel the world Field detection to feel what was there as the feeling of the crystals came to her. Slowly Matsu lifted some of the stones to get inside the building and felt the wall for ambient electronics or force energy. She was reaching out more firmly to push the force into the planet and generate force energy to show in the sand the crystals and a way to it from their location. She knew some of the more extraordinary powers the jedi learned and created long ago. it helped to explore and get the holocrons to restore the teachings of the jedi.

Soon enough, they would find themselves in the building, and he was curious about what he saw. He still mourned for Feena, and her loss was still heavy in his heart. But for now, he was to focus on the present. Why had Matsu needed to lift stones to gain them entrance, he thought as they entered. There was something in here... The stones were to protect something, he felt. He knew. And then she began to push things - crystals perhaps - away, using the Force, and he would raise a hand to assist her.

"What's going on?"

Matsu moved inside and turned to look at Josh while she was going in. The ruined hallways leading down as she looked through some of the rubble taking it in. "Right now nothing." She remained careful and quiet mostly while searching over some of the rubble that was in there. She was moving towards something to get lower and search while reaching out with the force. "There are crystals but the ones of the right size not so much, we need them to be large like a grav ball and uncut will be best." She was looking over some more of the walls and running a finger to move some of the residue away from it as she brushed off some dust.

"Nothing?" He inquired, tilting his head. It sure as hell seemed to be something, alright. By the moving of the stones, it was clear that they were somewhere that they were not supposed to be. But where was this, exactly? He wasn't entirely sure, to be quite honest. Matsu was always vague when it came to this kind of thing. But so far, they hadn't been in any kind of serious danger. At least.... Not just yet.

From there, he was quiet, careful, cautious... Being sure not to touch anything that looked even slightly suspicious. Activating an eons old trap could spell doom even for two Jedi Masters. Then Matsu mentioned that these were the crystals she was searching for... Just not the ones she had in mind. Not the right size, she said.

"If certain ones in particular are so valuable, what's the likelihood that someone's already came in and taken them, and left the useless ones behind?" Josh would ask.

Matsu kept looking at the rubble and debris as she thought about it. "It is possible, though there are not many who would come to a dead world not known for much. By all accounts it is a very bland system and world, not much more developed in its time then others and on the edge of the galaxy. Even galaxy expanding civilizations never made it this far out... mostly. The Gree have outposts and remnants of their technology here they they have left. The Rakata, the Kwa they were in other sides of the galaxy and aside from the destructors." She opened one of the doors looking over what was inside while she held one of the crystals up in her hand and it was polished smooth. "There is little evidence of other pre-republic species." Matsu kept looking while she brought her forearm pad out and was scanning it while inputing the minerals for the computers. Ativating several of the drones and her gear while she was thinking about it. "Plus, you should be positive, always look on the bright side."

"It's definitely best to look still, but one should never rule out possibilities until you know for sure" The Jedi would respond with a light chuckle toward his former Master. "Only a Sith deals in absolutes" He cracked lightly with a small smile. They would never know, of course. It's possible they would find something, like the last time they were here. It was also possible that the place would be stripped bone clean, and they would find absolutely nothing of worth in here. They would find out, in time, he supposed.

As he watched her examine a few things, he smirked when she said to look at the bright side. "I suppose you're right" He would admit.

Matsu was looking at him and moved her hands to some of the things as she opened a small cupboard with a few things. "We shall see." Looking over a few things and holding up some earrings as they gleamed with small golden gems and silver metal. "Pretty, Hanna might like them or something like them." She could get her vice chancellor something pretty or make it, likely just make it and have it be pretty before she was moving with some of the attention going to the other things as she set them back in the small box and left them to the room. Slowly Matsu was going and heading down some of the stairs as the walls were lined with large crystals in strips she could push the force into to brighten up the hallway. "If they used these to channel and reflect light it could have been an interesting light show."

"I suppose we shall" Josh would respond as he watched Matsu work, looking for a moment to help out if he could. He doubted she brought him here just to watch after all, though it may have been in case things got rather hairy. He couldn't help but chuckle when she brought up Hannah. He'd heard a rumor or two.... Although he'd keep his thoughts about the Senator to himself, so as not to upset Matsu. But as she would light up the area... They would hear rumbling below them.

"Did you hear that?" The Jedi would inquire toward his former Master.

Matsu was looking at him as she moved and the sounds coming from below as she raised an eyebrow in interesting.... Oh this was what she liked. That sense of adventure and everything moving forward while her attention on a few of the things. The crystals on the wall lightly glowing as she continued to go in and there was the sound of water before she moved cracking another glow rod. The area illuminating with pale green light before she was getting to another door and opening it. "That is the sound of adventure and intrigue. Something we should always be looking for to see what the galaxy offers."

"It sounds like something isn't happy to see us" The Jedi Master would remark in response as the rumbling would turn into clanging on a level below them. It was obvious that there was some kind of robotics below them, that would attack if they went down to the next level down. They had a choice now: Turn back, or face the attack. The Jedi would look toward Matsu, and the look on his face made this fact obvious.

The question was, what did they do? The choice was there...

"We are jedi, nothing is ever happy to see us." She said it less as an insult or as humor and more as fact. She knew the score and usually jedi were accepted but things liked to fight and she was moving with some of her attention going towards the level below them while she prepared. THe ionizing energy crackling. "Sounds mechanical and... well there is a reason the jedi created a skill specifically designed to disable and damage droids. Because they are favored by many and we got things to do." She said that with some humor though and recalled a story of someone who set up all this mechanical and robotic stuff to create the ultimate death trap but they forgot the jedi had the skills to destroy it and so their entire plan years in the making was undone in a matter of seconds.. Matsu was ready and pried one of the slightly larger and less polished crystals from the wall raising an eyebrow. "You ready."

"Something happy to see a Jedi? I'd be shocked if I ever saw that from someone who's not someone from the Republic who just wants something" Josh would joke cheekily in return. He didn't hold back on words, that's for sure. He was never one to hold back what was on his mind, that was just a part of the Jedi Master's charm, some might say.

And before long, a couple of droids would roll in.. Droidikas. Perhaps left behind by whoever was guarding this place? They would unravel and place their shields up. Josh smiled a bit as he would ignite his lightsaber, the blue blade humming as he would brandish it.

"Ready as I'll ever be" He responded. "How long's it been since we last fought together, Master?"
