Trouble on Trandosha [SJO Campaign]

Subject 73 Red

We're more ghosts than people.
Red listened to [member="Josh Dragonsflame"], and nodded to what he said.

"Yes sir. Civilian casualties will be kept to zero. Nonlethal force on hostiles if possible. And I can work with anyone, doesn't matter who. It doesn't matter if me and Mr. [member="Kale Seleare"] here had a small disagreement, I can still work with anyone and anybody." Red reports.

The Jedi Master nodded his head toward [member="Subject 73 Red"] when he gave his response, short, sweet and to the point. He liked that at least, and that he had no qualms about his orders. It was difficult to find a soldier who didn't want to just kill everything in this day and age, he found.

"Understood. Thank you" Josh responded toward Red. "As for suggestions, we have two Jedi Masters, at least two Knights, at least two Padawans, and unfortunately, I don't know straight off the Force rank or level of skill for the rest. I would recommend tallying the teams equally. I would recommend myself and Master Sol-Syna each head a different team, in order to ensure that neither team are lacking a reliable Master if there are issues. From there, I would recommend divying up units based off what will provide the two teams closest to equal merit.

Of course, despite my position, this is merely advice. If there are those here that work better together, then work together. I will not stop you. I understand that there is more to success in this mission than a matter of math."

They hadn't even been 10 minutes into the mission before people got to arguing.

The old woman's eyes wandered back to the bar. There was a bottle that looked, if she was not mistaken, like it might be Walker's black label. That wasn't her usual Corellian whisky, but she could make it work in a pinch.

Another voice interjected itself and Kory did a double take to see a man with flowing gold locks of hair that she'd swear hadn't been there just a moment ago. She didn't remember a lot of things, but she'd have definitely have remembered seeing someone who looked like that.

Suddenly this mission was looking up!

"Will we capture other pirates, or just eliminate them and only capture Lugar?"

...nope.

The moment was gone. And she was going to need that drink now. Shuffling over toward the bar, the silver haired matriarch was only half-listening as the inevitable voices of conflict emerged anew. A soft, quiet presence was hesitant. A male padawan was concerned with the potential for civilian casualties.

About the time that a young woman chimed in to the conversation with various options for disabling opponents, Kory had managed to find a decently, somewhat clean looking shot glass and was now squinting at the bottle. Now that she was closer, she could tell this wasn't Walkers at all. It was Naboo Royal.

Gungan whisky. Truly, this was dark times.

For more than a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights had been the guardians of standards in the galaxy. Moral standards. Legal standards. Ethical standards. And, yes, standards of basic human decency -- which she was fairly certain did not extend to Gungan whisky. Simply put, she was not that desperate yet.

"I would recommend myself and Master Sol-Syna each head a different team, in order to ensure that neither team are lacking a reliable Master if there are issues."

Oh, bloody hell. All of this and she wasn't even going to get to enjoy the eye candy?

Frack it. She was that desperate.

Opening the bottle, the woman pour a shot and then knocked it back. And then did her best not to grimace. That had been about as smooth as swallowing course sandpaper that had been doused in kerosene.

Lowering the shot glass, the woman tipped the bottle a second time, just briefly, to put a splash of whisky in the glass. Coming out from behind the bar, the old Jedi dropped the shot glass containing the sip of whisky down beside where the Nezumi was presently wringing her hands. Or paws, as the case may be. Either of which might be helped by a sniff of Naboo Royal Gungan whisky. Assuming the harsh bite and poor quality didn't further traumatize the poor thing.

Rather than give any comment on the proposed plan, Kory would let the fact that she had moved to stand beside Goldilocks be a show of silent agreement with her fellow master.

Instead, looking at the group, the woman commented, "There are always alternatives to violence. It is not about the attacker, but a question of how we choose to respond. Remember your training. Be in the moment and have faith in yourselves, for the Force is with us."

Subject 73 Red

We're more ghosts than people.
Red turned to look at the new speaker, [member="Korynn Sol-Syna"] . He listened to what she said. He had heard this sort of mumbo-jumbo from Jedis before. He didn't really like it. Even though he was training to be a Jedi, he didn't exactly do what they did, and often times he disagreed with them and their ethics and morals, but there was nothing he could say about it now.

"Right, let's make the squads. Obviously, Masters [member="Korynn Sol-Syna"] and [member="Josh Dragonsflame"] are squad leaders. So I recommend letting them choose their squad mates. Any objections to that suggestion?" Red suggested.

"Be advised that numbers are an unknown factor when it comes to dealing with hostiles for this assignment" Anetta Solus answered [member="Subject 73 Red"]'s question, cautioning the group. "Janik Lugar is suspected to be associated with an outside party foreign to Trandosha, therefore I haven't been able to gain any intel on what his organization looks like, nor their capabilities in combat. This meeting is the first opportunity the Order has found in regards to contact with the suspected group. Your tactics as well as your squad formations are in your hands, I'm simply the messenger and will not be accompanying you" Anetta had a cover to maintain, and so naturally couldn't be seen to be delving into firefights with the criminal underworld she was supposed to be consorting with for the sake of the greater good.

The metal works foundry was a considerably large complex, and the layout had been well documented for the two teams to study. Given the size of the location, it would be safe to assume that one couldn't simply stroll up to the front door and ask for an invitation to the arms deal. While the complex itself was presumed by the public to be abandoned and inoperable, the authorities had reportedly visited the area under suspicious activity a number of times which was also noted for the Silver Jedi to browse over. A possible meeting point for these sorts of shady business dealings.

There were a number of entry points including either side of the compound surrounding the facility as well as roof access, yet the latter would require delicate infiltration and air-speeders and transports were rather easily spotted when flying over presumably abandoned area's. "Civilian casualties are unlikely to be a factor in this mission, the compound is a known criminal rendezvous though there's always the chance of squatters I suppose" Anetta offered a point of opinion, rather than clear cut intel.

Campaign starring: The Kastolar Sector Raiders

At the suggestion of the two Jedi Masters leading the teams, Reggie's mind got to thinking on what would be the best set up with the knowledge he had, which wasn't much in reality. He wanted to make the teams with equal amount of skills and abilities, both having people who have force abilities that work well with the operation, people who had good fighting prowess, and people who had tactical prowess. The two other Padawans Reggie didn't know, and therefore couldn't gauge what their force capabilities were. He could gauge what physical attributes they could bring to a team though. Knight Farseer he had met once long ago but didn't know his skills either. Considering he was a Knight, the Padawan assumed that Knight Farseer could go into both fighting prowess and force knowledge like Knight Asyt, who was in all three categories in Reggie's mind, along with the two Masters. He worked with what he had and came up with a few set ups.

"If I may make a suggestion, here is how I would set up the teams with what I know. Team 1: Master Dragonsflame, Knight Asyt, Padawan Nadora, and Agent Red. Team 2: Master Sol-Syna, Knight Farseer, Padawan Seleare, and myself. Any objections to that?"

Reggie wanted to be on team 1 with his own Master, but Reggie felt that this was better strategically. He could be wrong of course. What does a Padawan know of such things? Even so, if Reggie trusted in anything about himself, it was his mind and way he processed things. He may not be the best when it came to strategy but he wouldn't shy away from it like he did so many times when he was younger.

Red looked around the room. He recognized the people on his team, and he examined them. He assessed them, and their strengths and weaknesses.

"No objections here. I'm fine with that." Red admitted to [member="Reggie Faayare"] 's suggestion.

"Good work, kid. Nice strategic thinking." Red nodded to [member="Reggie Faayare"] and gave him a small thumbs up.

"Anyone have any objections with that?" Red asked.

[member="Korynn Sol-Syna"] [member="Kale Seleare"] [member="Bushi Nadora"] [member="Josh Dragonsflame"] [member="Ember Farseer"] [member="Varindar Asyt"] [member="The Silver Holocron"]

The silver haired matriarch gave a nod of approval.

The one who'd divided them up into teams seemed like he had a good head on his shoulders. And he'd placed himself on Kory's team to boot. Should she learn names? She probably learn names. That seemed like a Jedi thing to do.

Who was she kidding, she'd just forget them again in five minutes.

Turning to regard Master Goldilocks again, the woman said, "My team will test the points of egress toward the south side."

Testing the security of the back door was never a bad strategy. By contrast, she wasn't going in the front door. Not with this hip anyway. And some HALO air assault drop on the roof tops? Not even if she was twenty years younger.

Now if [member="Josh Dragonsflame"] wanted to do some kind of aerial stunts to break this down Mission Impossible style, more power to him. Whatever approach he took, they'd meet in the center and take this Lugar fellow down.

"Once we've got this Lugar, what's our strategy for egress? We calling in a pick up? Or do we anticipate fighting our way in and then fighting our way out?"

"Simple, Master Sol-Syna," Red responded to the Jedi Master, "We improvise. Obviously, no battle plan survives first contact with the enemy, especially evac plans. We improvise. I'm a commando, and we have two Jedi Masters, I'm pretty sure we can think up of something."

That was basically how Red operated. If you improvise, then it's a pretty could guess that the enemy can't figure out your battle plan. If you stay unpredictable, it's hard for the enemy to beat you.

"Any objections to staying unpredictable?" Red looked around the room.

"We need to keep options open, to be flexible, improvised or not"

The question being: would Lugar and his henchmen actually know about "The Hotelier"? If so, it would likely mean the brunt of the attack would be borne out of [member="Josh Dragonsflame"], [member="Bushi Nadora"] and [member="Subject 73 Red"], north. Of course, [member="Korynn Sol-Syna"], [member="Reggie Faayare"], [member="Kale Seleare"] and [member="Ember Farseer"], the other group, assuming these groups remained as is, would go in south.

"Otherwise I have no objections about that. Hopefully the local underworld realises the Hotelier is back to haunt them; I even wrested a hotel out of the local underworld's hands"

Josh was a bit surprised when his Padawan would pop up, and moreso when the team he suggested did not put them together. He figured that with his still being a learner, he would not be so keen to be too far from the nest so soon. But either Reggie was ready to spread his wings, or was willing to put personal preference aside for what was most practically beneficial. Either way, he approved. He nodded his head, then.

"No objections. If everyone else here thinks those teams will suffice, I have no issue with them" He responded. He was happy to hear that the risk of civilian casualties was low given the location. That gave them a bit more room to work with. "Considering the teams, perhaps it would be best for the team led by Master [member="Korynn Sol-Syna"] to take a quieter approach to engaging at first, while my team can take a more frontal approach, not only startling our opponents into a panic, but also leaving them open to the benefit of the team led by Master Sol-Syna, who if needed can pick people off as they head toward the source of the disturbance. This second ambush by Team Sol-Syna will most likely further render them scrambling and it will take time for them to realize they have been flanked.

That is unless anyone feels there is a better variation to this idea?" He inquired. "If we do this, we're probably fighting our way in until we capture our target, and potentially fighting our way out if they call reinforcements. Our biggest concern will be our target potentially attempting an escape once the attack begins. Due to this, should we go with this plan, they should be the primary target of Team Sol-Syna, perhaps being able to catch our quarry by surprise while they are occupied."

Red nodded. It was just another extraction mission. He had gone on plenty of these. It should be fairly simple. Red wondered if anyone here had any experience with missions like this.

"Alright. Suppress and extract. Do we have a map of the compound, or are we going in blind?" Red asked.

"I can have a transport organized for exfil once your primary objective is in hand, but you'll need to designate a safe landing zone as it will be a civilian shuttle, unarmed with the exception of you yourselves" Anetta replied to [member="Korynn Sol-Syna"] in response to her question about their possible departure; "You may however wish to neutralize the opposition first however, unless you plan to extract while under fire".

Their informant would fall quiet once more, while Master Dragonsflame spoke his mind to the rest of the unit. It was good to see they were putting real thought into their plan of attack, the situation they were about to walk in on would no doubt erupt into chaos as soon as the criminal organizations would realize they were being approached by Jedi.

“All the relevant information should be in your dossier” Anetta gestured to the folders that she had previously placed before each of them at the table. “The layout of the metal works foundry may be a little outdated but I believe the plans are reliable here” she explained. Flanking the facility from both sides was probably their best bet, though she was a handler for this assignment and therefore she needed only concern herself with keeping her cover maintained.

“As for your approach to the facility, there’s a speeder out front. You can leave as soon as you’re feeling confident. After this we won’t have further contact so make sure you’ve made preparations before you set out”.

Red picked up his folder and opened it. He glanced through it, memorizing the layout of the compound. He memorized every passageway and corridor in it, and memorized where every room was located.

Red nodded and closed it. He reached behind himself and placed it back onto the table.

"Got it. I'm heading outside. If you need me, I'll be right out front, prepping for the mission." And on that note, he grabbed his helmet, and walked outside.

Red walked out of the door and looked at his helmet. Red then placed the helmet on his head, the helmet's systems then activated, his HUD springing to life. Red walked to the speeder and stood next to it, examining it.

Their plan on how to tackle the mission was finally forming. How the two teams would operate was given some thought by Master Dragonsflame, in which Reggie agreed on the first suggestion. His team sneaking in o flank while Josh's made a frontal assault would leave no room for their target to escape efficiently. Their chances of capturing them would be increased and casualties for the team would be low if things went according to plan. Neutralizing the opposition before extracting would be best for this mission. "I think team 1 mounting a frontal assault while team 2 take a stealthy approach to flank the enemy is the best course of action. It'll increase our chances of success."

Reggie took one last look at the file he was given and handed it to Knight Solus when he was done. He would burn the file himself but Knight Solus probably had a better way of doing that than him.

"Thank you for helping us prepare for this operation Knight Solus. We'll see that it gets done."

With that, Reggie turned to [member="Korynn Sol-Syna"] with a smile. "I look forward to working under you Master Sol-Syna. I am ready to head out whenever you are."

The Padawan was ready to go. They had a plan, so now it was time to put that plan into action.

Mission Result:
Failing to reach the objective location on time, the rebel cell known as the Hsskor Dominion,
successfully met with Janik Lugar and completed the exchange of fire-arms uninterrupted.
As a result of strengthened Raider operations on Trandosha, violence has escalated in the streets of the Capital.
In response to this, the Silver Assembly is preparing to dispatch the Antarian Rangers to restore some semblance of Order to the City of Hsskor.
OOC Note:
Mission failed due to insufficient activity.
