When the LO-EWC was created, because of its size, had no ship to carry it. At first, some frigates were completely cleared out, taking out cargo holds, hangar bays, and even some crew quarters. This refitting of ships was found to be terribly inefficient, so a new class of frigate was devised. The Trojan class has one purpose: To be very annoying. The ship is fast and maneuverable, with great defenses. Although it has no offensive weaponry like missiles or turbolasers, it downloads strong and evasive malware to enemy vessels by communication, whether by making an open broadcast, or a tight beam channel to one target.
However, because of its size, not much damage is needed to disable it, or harm the precious systems within. For this reason, the Trojans are always accompanied and escorted by a fleet or task force to block it from enemy crosshairs.
