DESCRIPTION
As part of the effort to modernise and improve the Imperial-Anaxsi Navy, the R&D team at Dalness Shipbuilding studied the shortcomings of the Hayabusa-type Escort Starfighter and decided it needed to be replaced within 5 years. The older Hayabusa was found too weakly armed for the vicious dogfights in the Stygian Caldera, and its design was seemingly inspired by the X-Wing series, something the politicians disliked profoundly. Choosing to work on the antiquated design of the TIE/rpt 'Raptor' Starfighter, the team quickly managed to install modern weapons and systems in the salvaged hulls and began the first laboratory tests. And as the Dalness Manufacturings and Shipbuilding moved from Carlac to Yinchorr, the first squadron was released and deployed into the Azure Hammer Command for a field test. The prototype TIE/V.31 performed well enough at Muunilinst and the decision to launch a full production was taken.
Dalness Shipbuilding reused the older TIE/ln blueprints to build the core of the new TIE/Vx and managed to retain the characteristic look of the TIE Raptor. Given the relatively simple nature of the design, the Viper was quickly issued to the Azure Hammer Command to replace ageing TIE/Hf Slashers and TIE/OTx Outlanders. In a few months, the Imperial-Anaxsi Navy was fielding a mix of TIE Vipers and Outlanders, though some units have retained the pre-exile Hayabusa. Using this newfound experience in TIE Line projects, Dalness Manufacturings was able to prepare the secret Lescah-class Clawcraft commission much quicker than expected.

STRENGTHS
- Quality Has A Quantity All Its Own: Mainly prioritizing squadron size and manoeuvrability in its design the TIE Viper is suitable to be one of the mainline fighters of the New Imperial Order fleet, following a cheap and standardizing manufacturing process and an inbuilt droid brain piloting system the Outlander is a swift and viable mainline fighter.
WEAKNESSES
- Minimal Independence: Harkening back to Galactic Empire designs of TIE Fighter variants depending on their craft carrier, the TIE/Vx will not be seen outside a larger Imperial-Anaxsi fleet capable of hyperspace jump, making the fighter, as most of the TIE Line, ineffective and doomed when cut out of its home-ship.
