The TIE Furiosa was a long delayed development, released in the final years of the Empire to support small individual and retinue based task forces to reach their target zones timely and with sufficient firepower at their disposal while not taking too much space and resources. Its primary purpose was to support both Imperial and Zakuulan Knights in their duties on the more combative end of service. The interior of the ship was specifically designed to be able to host a small group of individuals (up to 8), giving them minimum comfort and a base of operations as well as operational and tactical systems to utilize.
In a more pragmatic usage the Furiosa would see use as a heavy interceptor, made to hunt heavy bombers and corvettes either alone or in packs, giving it the offensive firepower and maneuverability to be successful at that. Its interior rooms and other uses would come shorter in this deployment but it was nevertheless a formidable warship which could easily be maintained and piloted by two pilots.
Aresian Naval Engineering licensed the production so that other imperial remnants would be able to produce and maintain the ship as well.
