There was nothing more dangerous than information for a Rebellion. A dangerous weapon to be used for certain, but just as dangerous when used against them. Any time their names were learned, their faces, their families, the Empire could and would target them. Usually in secret, disappearing members of the Path when least expected. The best way to keep that information from Imperial hands?
Destroying listening posts.
On more populated worlds it was a pointless endeavor, but on the other worlds, where the Empire was just reaching and settling down, those listening posts were key to information dispersion.
