Faction [THP] Deafen Their Ears

There was nothing more dangerous than information for a Rebellion. A dangerous weapon to be used for certain, but just as dangerous when used against them. Any time their names were learned, their faces, their families, the Empire could and would target them. Usually in secret, disappearing members of the Path when least expected. The best way to keep that information from Imperial hands?

Destroying listening posts.

On more populated worlds it was a pointless endeavor, but on the other worlds, where the Empire was just reaching and settling down, those listening posts were key to information dispersion. Aris was leading a mission to destroy one before it was finished. A small group of rebels set down on Giaca, a formerly incredibly difficult to get to world. A path had been found during the Expansion however, and now it was in dangerous range of Odessen and the Path.

"The plan is to make it seem like Raiders or the Wildlife took it out, but it's destruction is the objective. If they learn the Path destroyed it, they'll get curious as to why. That's a problem, we can handle that so long as the place is destroyed, so that's the goal. Don't risk yourself to hide the Path's involvement." Survival was the most important thing. He glanced to Jane Jane and Acier Moonbound Acier Moonbound , giving them a nod.

"Let's go."

He walked down the ramp of the shuttle, into the lush forest. They had this, probably.

For once in his life, Lestra had done something he had never expected himself to do. The lad had studied. Going through notes of Giaca, the local fauna and flora. Normally he'd just take things as they go, but this time? He was actually working on trying to come up with an advantage. He didn't want to be seen as the dumb one. Sure, no-one probably saw him that way, but he saw himself like that. He wasn't strong like Aris was. He wasn't street-smart like Acier. And he wasn't as in control of his emotions as Jane seemed to be. But he had one thing that they didn't. An affinity for the wild.

"I'll be late to the party. Don't hang about for me."

As soon as the shuttle landed, Lestra was off, a blue blur straight into the thicket. He knew what he was on the look out for. Some toroc trees. He had to follow the pull of the Force, as he vaulted and leaped over various branches and roots. This wasn't entirely his element. Lestra had been born and raised on the flatlands of Dantooine. Yet with what little team he had spent on Tython, he had gotten used to the jungle. How to climb trees, to clamber up their trunks and continue moving.

There was a part of Lestra that dreaded his plan. He hadn't told anyone else about it. But Aris had basically mentioned it during the shuttle journey. Lestra planned on getting the wildlife to help them with this. It more than likely meant some of the Brintak he planned on getting would perish in the raid...and it was tearing him up inside. Yet it was something he kept to himself. Lestra was meant to be known as the guy who grinned all the time. That didn't let anything get him down...He couldn't let the others know about his problems. And so he swung and moved through the trees, focused on finding the Brintak.

Vess hadn't said much on the ride down, still feeling out this group of people she had found her way to be involved with. Her hands had been in her lap the entire shuttle ride, resting atop a datapad she hadn't turned on in nearly ten minutes. The others might've thought she was zoning out. In truth, she was quietly scanning signal interference and power relay pings in the immediate area. If this listening post had any uplink nodes running, she wanted to catch it early.

By the time Aris gave the briefing, she stood ready to disembark. She was dressed to fit in rather than look like a jedi. Dark jacket, low-profile armor underneath, knee-high boots fitted with reinforced soles. She looked like someone who belonged in a scrapyard or a slum market, not on a mission which was the point.

She gave a small nod at Aris's words, subtle and easy to miss unless you were watching. When Lestra darted off into the trees, Vess' eyes trailed after him he moved like someone who belonged in the wild, like the forest was speaking to him. She'd never really had that kind of connection. Her world was circuits, signals, firewalls. But that didn't mean she couldn't understand the rhythm of something alive.

"I'll head east," she stated to the group but in particular Aris. "I'll try to find a backdoor into their network, see if we can pull anything useful before we fry the place. I'll circle back to the group before the bang goes off." She was used to operating in dangerous areas and how to look like you belong, especially when you don't belong.

Kayla was not a fan of many things, camo being one of them. She fiddled with the camouflaged skin suit she had adorned over her piece meal armor, and was lesser than pleased with it.

Just felt too hot and, frankly, cheesy. She looked to the group before her, and simply shook her head. So many of her fellows just felt like, they were trying too hard to be rebellious.

Then the thought hit her.

Maybe she wasn’t trying hard enough? She fiddled with her bryar pistol as the ramp dropped down, following to the middle of the group as people began to speak about their assignments, when it donned on her; she didn’t know who she was assigned to assist.

Mid weapon inspection, she perked up, looking between those before her, only to see the group was starting to split up.

Feth.

Whoever the girl going East was, just gained a new companion, as Kayla showed her blaster away.

She was supposed to be a professional, how could she have let this happen?

“Yeah, we’ll keep you guys informed and all that.”

She remarked, stepping over to Vess Sadragen Vess Sadragen as she gave a small wave, trying not to look incredibly awkward, and hoping no one asked her what she was doing.

She knew what she was doing technically, just not who she was doing things with.

Ace leaned against the shuttle's frame as the others peeled off, watching the split with a low breath through his nose. Lestra Thairk Lestra Thairk was gone in a blink, all impatience and confidence into the trees. Vess Sadragen Vess Sadragen ghosted east and Kayla Ordo-Shan Kayla Ordo-Shan drifted after her like she'd been planning it all along.
He huffed. "Lestra makes friends with beasts, Vess's chasing wires, and Kayla keeps her company. Guess that leaves the dirty work."
His hand brushed the hilt at his side. Ace liked clear roles and clean fights. This mission was neither. Sabotage and all that, he wasn't new to it but he didn't enjoy it. Reminded him all too much of how had to operate to survive back when he was a kid, and even as recently as several months ago. Still, he could play his part. Whatever it took to make the Empire bleed, right?
He fell into step beside Aris, flashing him a sharp grin. "Fine by me, I guess. I'll keep things loud when you need it, quiet when you don't." Then his gaze flicked toward Jane, steady and unflinching.
"Looks like the gang's back together, kind of. Minus Kaine, Gavin and Lestra"
He rolled his shoulders and stretched his neck. Ace's easy swagger was undercut by the tension in his jaw. Whatever waited in the trees, he was ready to meet it.

Though Tigris knew most of the others, she remained silent during the descent to the surface. Aris Noble Aris Noble , newly knighted, had the lead. She was okay with that. Her master's son had proven that he deserved the title, and Tigris would follow the lead of the younger jedi. Soon enough, she hoped to earn the title as well.

The tattooed Atrisian went over the mission details in her head, adding Aris' final instructions to memory. The mental exercise, and attuning to the Force, were an old habit. While it once served her in preparation for high stakes assassinations, now it served a much more virtuous purpose. At least in her eyes. Tigris was committed to the Path and its goals.

While she still felt the hollow pangs of the terrible catastrophe on Coruscant, and the subsequent fallout, Tigris would say she did not miss the large scale warfare that the Jedi had been involved in. She was not a soldier. In all honesty, becoming a rebel was not the plan, for any of them, but the role suited the former Seyugi much better than soldiering.

The shuttle settled and the team disembarked. The first to act was Lestra Thairk Lestra Thairk . Tigris didn't know the blue-haired boy very well, and when he suddenly ran off, Tigris glanced at Aris with a quirked brow. Hopefully, he knew what the padawan was up to.

Vess Sadragen Vess Sadragen was another young jedi Tigris didn't know well, other than she was gifted in Mechu-Deru, and that she must have been Keshian, because her hazel gaze had the same curious glint that Valery Noble's did. Her role was more easily understood. She could talk to machines like no one else.

Perhaps the most curious among them followed Vess. One of the few that weren't Jedi was Kayla Ordo-Shan Kayla Ordo-Shan . She intrigued Tigris. The Mandalorian mercenary was said to be strong in the Force. It made sense that the Astrian accompany Vess, for protection.

Then she heard the other non-Jedi, Acier, murmur to himself.

"Lestra makes friends with beasts, Vess's chasing wires, and Kayla keeps her company. Guess that leaves the dirty work."
Tigirs slipped up behind Acier Moonbound Acier Moonbound and patted him on the shoulder. Together, they had taken down an imperial survelience network on Eshan. "Cheer up Ace, you are good at the dirty work." She teased him, giving him a more affectionte squeeze on his shoulder. "Don't underestimate yourself, you got this." She added with a rare smile. Then it was gone and her focus returned to the mission. She watched as Acier joined Aris and Jane.

She would be leaving soon as well.

Boots hit the forest floor a moment after the last of the group had moved out, and Vera adjusted the strap of her satchel as she caught up. She slipped in beside them with a grin that was aimed squarely at her brother, the kind of look that she always gave him right before she'd cause him trouble.

It was so much fun to be trouble.

"You weren't planning to do this without me, were you?" she teased, her grin lingering for another moment before she turned her attention toward Acier. "I heard you talking about dirty work," she said, her voice light but steady. "Count me in for that too. I'm not here to sit on the sidelines."

She rested a hand casually against the hilt at her side, eyes flicking between the trees ahead and the people around her. Whatever waited deeper in the forest, she was ready to face it with them.

Dear Diary

Ahhh, the Giaca Listening Post, under construction still. You know all of those information packets I haven't been able to send back home? This is where they were supposed to go. I suppose I'll have to make do on my own for a while longer. But it ain't that easy, is it? The way I see it, the listening post is beyond saving - what's the second best option then? Well, probably to help them destroy it, right? Make some connections while at it? It would be nice with a (level-headed!!) friend here.

Heh, this is gonna look so bad when (if hahah) the Empire receives my reports. The Jedi can be pretty scary - but I dunno, maybe the ISB supervisors are a smidge more scary. Most(!) of the Hidden Path Jedi I've met and worked with so far have actually been pretty awes- buuuuut I should probably stop writing now! Can't delve too deep into the gray, now can we?

Off I go. Ciao!

Clad in damp greens and rich browns, the Agent, posing as the rebel Verse Melnau, stepped off of the shuttle with the others. Aside from the blaster set to stun and a couple of security tunnelers and computer spikes her utility belt looked relatively empty. The backpack, however, contained both a medkit and enough materials to create a small explosive. She knew the mission parameters that Aris Noble Aris Noble had explained, of course - but this could serve as an easy solution if they found themselves pressed too hard.

Cheerful as always, there was a slight, but noticeable, beat to her step as she moved with the main group towards their destination. Still, she was far from careless and studied their surroundings with an observant gaze, slowly scanning the path ahead. At some point, the interaction between Acier Moonbound Acier Moonbound and Tigris Aphra Tigris Aphra caught her attention. A mischievous smirk spread across her lips as she upped her pace to join them - she would be happy to tease him too.

Before she caught up, Vera Noble Vera Noble joined in. Amused brows rose and a hand slowly sailed up, covering her mouth to hide how hard she was fighting to keep herself from laughing. Looking to the girl, Verse smiled "Oh, yeah, he's great at doing the dirty work" She threw a cheeky glance towards Ace. The dirty work she had in mind had been far from pleasant at the time - but with some time, distance and a bit of a talk afterwards, this context opened the door wide open for a bit of teasing.

Her gaze then fell down onto Vera. She was young and eager to fight. A little bit of concern showed in Verse's eyes. Even though she had done her homework and knew that the little Noble was likely quite capable, it was impossible not to feel a little worried. Reaching for her pack, Verse produced a small kolto-patch from her medkit and handed it over "Stay safe our there. I've got a few more of these, just gimmie a holler if you need more, Okay? Uh, I'm Verse, by the way" She spoke with a sweet tone and a kind smile.

Soon enough, the blonde rebel would fall in next to Tigris Aphra Tigris Aphra . "Hey" she extended a hand for the woman to shake "I'm Verse. Ready for some dirty work?" she spoke with her usual enthusiasm and threw another amused glance towards Ace before letting out a chuckle. "I'm afraid I wouldn't be of all too much help in a fight, but I can do dirty"

In the Jungle, the mighty jungle, the Lestra doesn't sleep tonight. No. Instead he carried on clambering through the trees before pulling himself up and throwing himself into the hollowed out trunk of one of them, landing with a small thud. Panting for breath, the blue haired lad stared up at the top of the trunk...before a sharp signal screamed at him through the Force and he threw himself off to the side as a tentacle-like thing swung out towards where he had been standing, various barbs slamming into the wood as Lestra turned to face what he had been looking for! In fact...there was a fair few of them. Lestra was never good at counting under pressure, but luckily for him it seemed like only this big beastie wanted a piece of him.

The big Brintak stared Lestra down with its one good eye, the other cloudy with a scar etched alongside the beast's face. Of all the dens for him to land in, it had to have these ugly thing in it. Come on! Lestra just wanted a moment of peace to himself to catch his breath. Now he had to be even more active, holding his hands out in a passive manner to try and come off as non-aggressive. He didn't want to hurt any of the Brintak.

"Hey. Hey. Relax big guy. I ain't here to hurt you. I want to be frie-"

Another swing of the tentacle, crashing straight where Lestra's head would have been as he scrambled along the ground, trying to stay away from the smaller Brintak towards the sides of the trunk. He had to try and connect with the beast, trying to feel it through the Force...to connect the threads between man and beast...Oh. That...That was why it wasn't too happy with Lestra.

"Oh. Big girl. That...That makes sense...Sorry 'bout that."

Hm...Were the other Brintak in here part of its family? Did the Brintak even have familial connections? This was information that Lestra's research hadn't given to him. At the very least however, he had managed to get to calm down the big ol' one eye Brintak...He assumed. It wasn't trying to kill him now. She was just staring down Lestra as he continued to hold his hands out, slowly schooching his way closer until he could rest the palm of his hand against One Eye's Snout.

"There we go...You ain't that bad...Sure...You tried to poison me...but you were just scared...I know those big ol' mean Imperials ain't be helping either...but that's why I need you guys. We're gonna get you some payback. Teach 'em not to mess with the beast."

Chit. This was going to hurt a lot. Bonding with these Brintak. Knowing that a large majority of them would more than likely get severely hurt rampaging into the listening post...but it was needed. That's how Lestra justified it to himself. What he needed to believe in. It was all going to be fine. It had to be.

As Tigris cinched up the straps on her pack, she saw Vera Noble Vera Noble slip up next to her brother. It was not difficult to see that they were siblings, not only in the fact that they resembled their parents (Aris remarkably so), but they teased and taunted each other as only a brother and sister could.

Catching up to the group, Tigris slid next to another virtual stranger. The blonde was so new that the Atrisian shadow was still suspicious of her. Not that Verse gave her any reason to be, she was cheery and polite. Much like Everest when they first met.

"Hey." Tigris responded, taking the woman's offered hand and giving it a firm shake. "Tigris." She responded, offering a small smile. Verse confessed that she was not a fighter, but that she could do 'dirty'. Curious about what Verse brought to the table, she probed a little.

"Not everyone needs to fight. We all have our roles. When you say you do dirty, what exactly kind of dirty do you do?" The tattooed padawan asked, her gaze making a sweep around them out of habit, before glancing back to see Michael Angellus Michael Angellus . "You coming?" She tossed back at him.

Life since becoming Everest' Padawan and joining the Hidden Path had not been easy. There wasn't much free time between catching up on lessons, practicing her Lightsaber and Force abilities, and going on missions. But she didn't mind. It kept her moving and, most importantly, allowed her to help others. Which was the sole reason she joined the Hidden Path. So when Aris contacted Jane about a new rebellion mission, she was already packing her pouches.

Despite having done some research beforehand, or attempting to do so, Jane's gaze was fixed on Aris as he reviewed their mission brief. Take down the communication, and hopefully make it appear that it was not the Hidden Path who did it.

Lestra Thairk Lestra Thairk , the boy with the comfortable song, acted quickly. With his bond with animals, he would undoubtedly cover the alibi angle. Before she could say anything to him, he was gone.

And for that matter, other rebels were on the move as well. Tigris Aphra Tigris Aphra , the beautiful woman, approached Acier for a chat and was joined by a new blonde girl Ines Pen-Ar-Lan Ines Pen-Ar-Lan she'd never seen before but who she too determined was pretty. In the background, two girls with dark hair, Kayla Ordo-Shan Kayla Ordo-Shan and Vess Sadragen Vess Sadragen interacted with each other. All the while, she noticed Michael Angellus Michael Angellus in the back, talking with the cursed droid. She raised her hand slightly into a stiff wave towards the man in the background, greeting him, before returning her attention to the group near her.

Despite her discomfort with having a lot of people around her, she felt most at ease with that group of rebels. Aris, who inspired her to reach beyond her own height and abilities and discover who she wanted to be, Acier who was a friend near to her heart and Vera, a latecomer with whom she fought together to free the refugees. Maybe she didn't know all of them very well, but she knew she could blindly trust them, and that was all she needed.

After lingering in the back for a few moments, Jane rejoined the group just as they began to travel through the lush jungle.
"Yes, the group is somewhat back together." Jane replied to Acier, pulling her purple robes closer around her body. "Do we know what to expect once we reach the post?"

Vess heard the footsteps long before the girl caught up. That was the first thing you learned in a place like Nar Shaddaa or Denon was that always be aware of your surroundings. Vess already had her terminal out and was actively scanning for any technology, meanwhile her eyes swept the forest floor ahead of them. In some ways the eyes of a Keshian were better than a scanner for any source of uv or infrared would light up like lifeday to her.

So when Kayla jogged up and waved with all the awkward energy of someone hoping not to get noticed, Vess slowly turned her head just enough to look at her. Not startled but quietly assessing.

"You always follow strangers into the woods?" she asked, voice quiet but dry, one brow arching ever so slightly. She studied the girl for a second just taking her in. She seemed green, not in the bad way. Just one who hadn't lived as much as she had. Vess recognized the type. Hell, she had been the type.

She turned her head back to the forest ahead of them before looking down at her terminal then looking back at Kayla.. She though back to brief introductions on the shuttle. "Kayla was it? You are welcome to come with me but if you are looking for action the other group will likely be more lively."

Her terminal beeped at her and a smile touched her lips. She got a hit on a power conduit, heading away from the listening post to what could be best described as as a utility shed in the forest and started towards in. She motioned with her free hand behind her signaling Kayla to come along.

"Got a hit on power conduit running out to a maintenance shed of some kind not too far away. If we're lucky it'll have a network node I can get into." she continued, keeping her voice level as she picked her way through the brush. "First we find out what they know of the hidden path, make some careful edits and send one last broadcast out before it gets blown sky high. Of course we can't just edit one piece of data, too obvious. Gotta make it look uniform."

"Only if you were too slow."

He glanced to Vera, flashing her a bit of a smirk. There was little they couldn't do together, so it was good to have her here with him. People were already heading off into their different groups to handle what they could. Good. "Dirty work, though? Feels more like we're cleaning up the environment to me." Destroying an imperial outpost? Spring cleaning, truthfully.

Aris looked ahead, already walking. When they got close they'd have to be more careful, more stealthy, but not yet. "Imps, of course. But also construction crews. Droids from what the intel said, but I get the feeling they'll be more like the K units from the Empire before the Plague. More battle droid than proper worker droid."

Droids. There'd be battle droids. Owned by the enemies.

While struggling with feeling and understanding emotions, one feeling was clear from the start: the girl disliked droids and anything metallic that did not serve a purpose. A necessary evil, she'd call the useful ones. They were a disgrace to life, in Jane's eyes, and a threat to nature itself. And droids? They were the worst of all, as they attempted to mimic life itself.

Jane's fluted ears perked up for a moment before she hurriedly took a few steps closer to Aris and the others.
"If there are battle droids, can I fight one? Or even more? I've been working hard on my Ataru and learned some Niman." Even now, the girl's voice did not change. It droned on, steady and flat. "I can destroy them, so you all can focus on the ... Imps."

Fighting or potentially killing Imps was not the issue. They, too, were enemies of life, and she would do whatever must be done. But she wasn't that stupid. Jane knew she was the youngest, weakest, and most inexperienced member of this rebel group. The droids were a safer option for her while remaining useful to the team. And, well, she wouldn't mind tearing up some droids.

Ace took Tigris' pat with a sideways glance, half-smirk tugging at his mouth. "Hilarious." he dryly fired back.

He didn't shrug her hand off, letting it linger for a moment before playfully rolling his shoulders loose. Her words stuck more than he wanted to admit, and that rare smile was one he didn't take for granted.

Then Verse piled on. Ace cut her a look, sharp but faintly amused. He didn't dignify her with a response and merely sighed in resignation, it was softened by the glint in his eyes. Showing her it was, in his own way, in good fun.

Vera slid in with a grin, eyes full of trouble. Ace blinked, studying her for a moment. They'd crossed paths at the Forge but barely spoken, and on other runs it always felt like they missed each other by a hair. She was Aris' sister, sure, but to him she was still more of a shadow in the corner of the fight than someone he really knew. Still, she was a Noble which to him, meant she was good people.

He huffed a laugh through his nose, tilting his head. "You're nothing like your mom." He said, completely unaware about Valery's hidden mischevious side.

When Aris called it "spring cleaning", his hand brushed the skeletal hilt at his belt again, reflexive, like he was already feeling the weight of the fight ahead.

"Imps and clankers. Got it."

Jane's voice drew his gaze next, and he caught the flat determination there. He respected her determination, admired it even. But, he didn't want her facing any K-units alone. His expression flattened.

"You'll get your shot at them. But not on your own. K-units aren't toys and they'll hit harder than they look." A faint grin ghosted across his face as he added "So, I'll come with you. 'Kay?"

With that, he fell back into step beside Aris, shoulders rolling, jaw set. With the lighthearted atmosphere fading, the edge in his stance made it clear, he was ready for whatever waited in the trees.

Tigris. Verse nodded at the Jedi and spoke a polite "Nice to meet you".

When asked what sort of 'dirty' she did, the young Rebel let out a little "Oh" as she chuckled lightly. It was a good question - dirty was a rather vague way to describe it. Her hand gently patted the blaster clipped to her belt. A keen observer could likely spot that it was already set to stun mode. "Well, I mostly just meant to say that, I'm far more likely to hit if whoever I'm aiming at isn't trying to shoot me back or jump for cover before I get my first shot off."

It was a straightforward explanation. But the girl tilted her head to the side and added "Although, I prefer when I don't have to fire this thing at all." The hand which had just hovered by the blaster moved in along the belt to the little bag that held the security tunnelers and computer spikes. "I can get through most doors and break through firewalls. In a lot of situations, that's enough." A friendly smile formed on her lips as her gaze fell onto Tigris' weapon "And when it doesn't, it helps a lot to have a friend who knows how to use one of those."

Right there, it seemed like the Jedi noticed another, Michael Angellus Michael Angellus . Verse spun to wave at him as Tigris asked if he was coming. "Heya!" She spoke with an eager voice and a bright smile. "The more the merrier, right? Especially for me, I was just telling Tigris that I ain't that much of a fighter."

Vera shot her brother a look and rolled her eyes, "Spring cleaning, really?" she muttered under her breath, though her tone carried enough warmth that it was clear she wasn't annoyed. He had a way of making everything sound like it was simpler than it really was, and she wasn't about to let him get away with it without a jab.

Her gaze shifted to Acier when he spoke, and for a moment she just blinked at him. People told her all the time how much she was like her mom, so hearing the opposite caught her off guard. The thought lingered for a second, but she decided not to bring it up. Instead, she just gave him a small shrug, her expression settling into something calmer as she adjusted the strap of her satchel again.

"Alright," she said, her voice steadier now. "Let's get moving." Her hand brushed once against the hilt at her side, more a habit than anything, and she looked ahead into the forest. Whatever was waiting for them, she was ready to face it.

"All this waiting around is boring me."

Cartri could already tell it would take some time to get used to the new suit. It wasn't uncomfortable or poorly made by any means. If anything, it was sleek, efficient, and almost too well-designed. But compared to the casual gear he used to wear back on Denon, the high-tech, low-profile armor felt strange, like he was playing a role he hadn't rehearsed for. Maybe that unease would fade with experience. A bit of sabotage work would certainly help him settle in.

For now, he pulled off his helmet and set it beside him, leaning casually against the rough bark of a nearby tree.

His eyes drifted across the gathering. Most of the faces were unfamiliar, strangers drawn together by circumstance. But one stood out: a girl with black hair and eyes that might have seemed sinister if not for the unmistakable aura of a Jedi surrounding her. She looked about his age—though it was hard to tell for sure. When the moment felt right, he'd introduce himself and ask her name. Until then, speculation would have to suffice.

Shaking himself from the thought, Cartri grabbed his helmet and let it hang at his side as he crossed the clearing toward Michael and the others.

"Leave the fighting to me if it comes to that," he said with a half-joking grin. "Just don't get too comfortable while you're at it. Name's Cartri, I'll be your tech support for the evening."

PERSONAL FLIGHT LOG – Entry # 1876
Location: – Giaca
Assigned Craft: a transport I didn’t have to fly
Astromech Partner: BRED (BB-30)
Current Mood: Nervous, but in a good way.
Background Noise: Spherical Diva, my nerves.

Alright. Well, it was clear that no one needed, or wanted me to pair up with them. It’s cool. I didn’t blame anyone for it because I didn’t speak up. So it’s cool. They could probably use someone overhead anyway, someone who can exfil them quick.

“Wooo-beeep.” [Translation: Sure, keep telling yourself that they wanted you there. Keep telling yourself that it’s better this way.]

He’s out of line, but he’s right. I need to get over myself, but this isn’t the time. I need to “dance with the girl that brought me.” I’m a pilot. Plain and simple.

“Weeep-bwoo.” [Translation: A pilot who is learning to be a Jedi. Even pilots need to be capable on the ground..]

Ugh. What do I do? Oh wait! This blonde waved at me. MAN she is beautiful.

“Weeep-bwoo.” [Translation: Oh, here we go..]

I just looked down at him and couldn’t believe it. I’m not that guy anymore, okay, I AM, but I know how to keep to myself on that. Wow, how many tattoos does that other woman have? They are so cool. I’m DEFINITELY not her type for sure…

“Chrrp.” [Translation: Dude, you have NO idea how right you are..]

Well okay! Thank you!

“BoooEEEp.” [Translation: Oh my word!]

Don’t mind the little annoying ball next to me.

“Chrrp.” [Translation: Wuss.]

Then I turned around and who did I see but… wait… that’s not Connel! Sure looks like him though. That armor is so… wait a minute… is that Omega Squad? I couldn’t believe my eyes. The armor, the stance—everything screamed Omega Squad, but something felt off. Was this a new recruit, or had Connel undergone some kind of transformation? Either way, I knew I had to tread carefully.

“BooEEET.” [Translation: How’s BRAD???]

Shush. He probably doesn’t know who that is. Let him be. Sorry man. My name’s Michael. That’s “BRED”, he thinks you’re someone you’re probably not… man that sounded wrong. I’ll just ask… do you know Connel Vanagor? That looks like his gear.

“Chrrp.” [Translation: Real subtle.]

Shoot me. Shoot me now.

Michael A.
Seriously! A BB droid! CHEAP!
